it's that, when malleus eventually has his own child, or just being made to look after a child in general, while he may be clueless, his first instinct is to just make it sleep. not in a curse-like way, but by singing. he takes so much pride in his voice that he knows how to use it. and as you know, faes have a natural instinct to nurture that's why they steal babies (unrelated but you get the point).

and he would sing lullabies to a fragile human/fae. he can cradle those things as gently as he can. and as far as we know, malleus is really trying his best to be gentle because he's aware of his inhumane strength.

the first thing he sings is his mother's lullaby to him when he's still in an egg. we all know that as the fetus develops, the first sense that develops in them is their hearing. so they can hear what's going on outside of the womb/egg. meleanor was singing to egg!malleus.

and the fact malleus sang this to baby silver to make him sleep without even knowing where it came from is just..... well.... sad. i believe he's always sing it subconsciously when he's doing something or i just know it gives him great comfort when he hums that soft little tune.

and it probably breaks lilia so much that he just wishes meleanor was still alive to see how much her own son had grown.
