Disappointing local elections...

I am affected by the local elections...I live in Anayia..but this does not matter...it is the same everywhere - some places worse than others - look closely at Lakatamia & you will see the truth. They are as corrupted as anything else political in Cyprus. They are comprised mostly of leaders that have been elected for decades...that should have been retired by now...They are elected based on party affiliations, and the "how many favours" can you grant me policy. The people look out not for the greater good, but how they can promote themselves through this labyrinth of "who you know".  This is the "gas" that drives the machine. The blind party affiliation - passed down through generations, the favours, the attempt at survival. What if this is not your truth. What if you still have naive notions of real democratic systems, what if you believe in young people, ideas, modern societies where nepotism is chased out of the shadows by brave souls. People in the media and people in the streets, shaking off the mass "sheep follow sheep" safety net.

Right now - today - this is MY CYPRUS
