Oooh. About your parasitic extraction au? How do force sensitives live in the Mandalorian empire? Like you said conscripted, do they have a bastardization of Jedi culture? Are they enslaved? What is it like? Do canon characters live in the empire or in the Jedi Order in hiding? (I'm thinking Mace Windu, Depa Billiba, Plo Koon, and Ahsoka Tano mainly.) Also! Do other clones exist? Mainly the CCs. Wolffe, Fox and Bly lol
the mandalorian empire love having force sensitive warriors because they're extra strong and have superhuman reflexes so they do everything they can to get their hands on as many of them as they can
general practice is for young force sensitives to be 'adopted' by high-ranking mandalorian clans for training. if they're born into a less prominent mandalorian clan, maybe they can train their kid themself or they can surrender the kid. if the family is not a mandalorian family (e.g., one of the occupied worlds) they're supposed to surrender their force-sensitive child for training and this is considered an honorable thing to do. if they don't want to do that and try to get their child to the jedi order instead to save them from being conscripted for basically the rest of their life then usually their whole family gets killed and the child gets sent to a mandalorian clan as above (this happened to ahsoka and she hates the rebellion because she blames them for her family's death)
mandalorian jedi all wear collars which cannot be removed, and the collar denotes their rank. each mandalorian jedi is also assigned to a handler who is supposed to act as support and also is supposed to kill their jedi if they go off the rails (drink too much dark juice from all the murder and start killing everyone). a mandalorian's jedi armor specifically has an undefended back for this purpose. they're not *technically* enslaved because this is considered an honorable position and they get a lot of privileges but like. read between the lines here.
mandalorian jedi are basically all trained in combat and not so much in the psychic philosophical spiritual stuff because the mandalorians think that 'don't kill people' thing is for chumps and they burned down most of the jedi temple's libraries. they just don't know how to do the psychic stuff and most of the psychic stuff doesn't work very well when you don't teach them emotional regulation first. like a trial for all mandalorian jedi is that they get their kyber crystal and they're not promoted until they've killed enough people that it turns red. if that puts things into perspective.
anyways, the old jedi order is in hiding across the galaxy. they wear normal clothes and they got rid of the padawan braid because they don't want to be murdered on sight. instead of the braid, they use a set of prayer beads, which they carve and add beads to as they go through trials and visit different worlds, partially because prayer beads are really easy to dispose of in a hurry. they do have a base in dagobah though where they take care of and teach the youngest force sensitives.
re: who's who, there are a lot of canon characters on both sides. obi-wan, obviously, is one of the traditional jedi. he was mace's padawan when he got captured by jango. depa, plo koon, jocasta, yoda, and maul are all traditional jedi. obviously there are more, but those are the ones who get mentioned by name.
on the mandalorian side, we have ahsoka (whose handler is padme), anakin (whose handler was rex), qui-gon (who is dead), ventress (whose handler is isabet reau), dooku (whose handler is myles), quinlan (who is a spy trying to infiltrate the jedi order), also aayla and vokara che who kind of just briefly show up
the other clones mostly don't exist. I say mostly because when jango put in a clone order for two sons, kamino made three in case one of them didn't make it, but all three of them did make it and the third one is fox, who the kaminoans then put into the brainwashing factory to turn him into a brainwashed super soldier. and then when jango went back and asked for a new son because cody and rex disappointed him, they made three again and two made it. one of them is boba, and the other one I have named kiki. he is also put into the brainwashing factory.
which is all to say. being a jedi is rough as hell regardless of what side you're on.
ask me a question about parasitic extraction, the role reversal mandalorian empire au that I have

The Circle season 6 recapppp spoilers about the finale ahead!
I would've been sooo pissed if Paul didn't sacrifice themselves for Kyle. Like, obviously Paul was at the bottom and Kyle was higher up in the rankings, if Paul tried to stay even knowing that and hoping that Kyle would sacrifice himself? Nah, that would've been a load of BS. Mad respect that Caress made that decision and left the Circle in probably the best way possible.
Was a little shit that Paul threw Lauren under the bus though. I don't remember them flirting really - I remember super awkward conversations. Probably lost Lauren some points, at least with Kyle if not the whole Tres Fuegos.
Honestly I respect Liv for Blocking Myles. As much as I would've been annoyed that she took out the low hanging fruit by taking out Jordan, I would also have been happy if she took out Jordan - because he was fucking annoying. Dude was just too aggressive and half the fun of The Circle is seeing how people make connections without actually meeting face to face, not just throwing shade on everyone.
Sub-note on point 3 - I wouldn't have hated if she went after QT either. Hey, at least SOMEONE learned that when it's an anonymous block, they could take a big swing. You go girl (or guy, whatever, yay Brandon).
I felt so damn bad for Autumn. She didn't do anything and everyone made her feel so bad. I get that they were just playing the game and fired shots because she was an easy target as a new player and she really, in the grand scheme of things, shouldn't have taken any of their comments personally since obviously they hadn't had any time to get to know her. But I still felt bad for her. She seemed like a nice person and got booted out before she was even given a chance. But hey, that's the way it usually goes for people who don't get to start out at the very beginning.
I don't get why Jordan went SO HARD on Myles? Like, I guess he was a pretty big player when Jordan came in and had a lot of influence, but so did QT? And probably Kyle? And besides, influence comes and goes anyway usually as conversations go on. Like. Just. Chill my dude. You fucked it up for yourself from the start from being so aggressively attacking everyone. In public chat, no less.
Honestly, amazing job Liv. I was real confused in the first episode when everyone was like 'she's probably a catfish' and talking about how boring she was and then she got voted in the top two (I don't remember, was she first even???) It just seemed like everyone was hating on her in the beginning and then she worked magic and won it at the end. Great game, Brandon. And kept it pretty genuine, just a couple calculated moves that made all the difference.
Probably more things to talk about but this is enough of a text dump.
Oh oh oh oh one more thing. I'm so proud of Kyle for being like 'everyone thanked the super influencer except Liv. So Liv was probably the super influencer!' like yes, someone finally used their brain in this game. If Liv was playing a super calculated game she should've thrown in a comment somewhere in the middle being like 'thanks for saving me super secret influencer *heart emoji*' just to confuse anyone who analyzed the chat like Kyle did. SO anyway, good job Kyle, proud of you.

The World Wrestling Championship 2023 is running at the moment. I decided to create a bulge ranking instead of the sport achievements so, from top to bottom & from left to right:
Gold: Vito Arujau (USA)
Silver: Myles Amine (San Marino)
Bronze: Vazgen Tevanyan (Armenia)
Chocolate prize (4th place): Ahmed Magomedov (North Macedonia)
Mentions: Kyle Dake (USA), David Taylor (USA), Vladislav Baitsaev (Hungary), Jayden Lawrence (Australia) & Ramazan Ramazanov (Bulgaria)
Do you agree? If not, make your own or mention who deserves to be in the list.

One low-key thing I've subconsciously appreciated about Weak Hero is the lack of fan service. Pretty much every other popular fighting manhwa will have shots dedicated to showing off a character's abs, like we're all horribly interested in appreciating a 17-year old's body.
Weak Hero is like nah, they're hella strong, you don't see the muscles, but they're definitely there. When we happen to see the character's arms, they never look like they're on steroids. Like, Wolf's arms are hella skinny and he's still ranked in the top 5.
Characters like Seongmok and probably Myles, they likely have abs. But we'll never get a random shot of them looking like they haven't drank water in days, and I'm thankful for that. The only character who's ever shown off was Jeongmu Choi, and he can't fight, period. He's buff just for the aesthetic.
Ben fighting Donald makes me wonder how Donny's physique compares to Ben's. Donald fought people beefier than him and still won, so under all the layers of Gucci and Dior, he must be like...slim but all muscle. We've actually seen how he's built (from the back) and Ben is a totally different weight class. But weight class advantages don't seem to apply to Donald or the other characters at all, given they know what they're doing.
So unless they're like Wolf and hit people indiscriminately, the fighting in Weak Hero is about how smart you are, rather than how visibly strong you are. That's why reading it is more fun than reading other fighting manhwa.

Faygo: Grape (Review)
Tumblr media
note: Myles didn't get around to buying this flavour last week, so he'll be editing this tomorrow to include his opinions!
(our ratings & experiences)
Flavour Accuracy
Myles: 20/20 Roni: 19/20 Average Rating: 19.5/20
It's pretty much the perfect combination of that sickly sweet artificial grape flavour and the flavour of actual grape juice. Even if I were evaluating the accuracy of the 'grape'-ness of either definition, I think it'd score high on both. Only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score is because it tastes just barely a bit too sweet.
Now THIS is what Faygo should taste like. Unlike all the other Faygo flavors reviewed so far (which all taste like an elephant's piss overloaded with sugar), this drink precisely simulates the taste of grapes while still tasting the way a soda should. It's almost as if the grapes that were used to make the natural and artificial flavoring of this drink came from Dionysus himself.
Health Concern
Myles: 10/20 Roni: 3/20 Average Rating: 6.5/20
It tastes pretty fine in terms of 'is this killing me', but after checking the back of the bottle... Wow. Faygo had to count this bottle as 2 servings instead of one because the sugar content is 164% of the recommended daily sugar value. 164% isn't even real. How did we accidentally go from the lowest sugar content in the first week to an absurdly high one??? And we started on cotton candy?! The only reason this isn't at 1 again is because my body felt completely fine after drinking the whole bottle.
I probably should be concerned since this is an American drink with the sugar content and all the artificial elements to match, but I guess it's the flavor of the beverage that dispells most of my concerns since it actually tastes good. Then again, that sugar content of 82 grams does seem pretty concerning...
Color Appeal
Myles: 12/20 Roni: 13/20 Average Rating: 12.5/20
Looks pitch black at first glance, but it's actually a dark grey-purple colour that you can really only see if you shake the bottle. I like purple, but I feel pretty average about this drink's colour. It matches the flavour well and it's certainly not unappealing, but I feel like they could've done better with it. Maybe a slightly more vibrant purple would bring up my score for this.
If I'm being honest, the colors of the label are more appealing to me than the color of the actual drink. But it's this near pitch-black color with purple tones here and there that reminds me of Ribena so it's all good with me.
Overall Enjoyment
Myles: 20/20 Roni: 18/20 Average Rating: 19/20
It's pretty good! If I hadn't checked the back, I feel like my enjoyment would be a 19 or 20 out of 20. They hit all the marks with this flavour and the drink had an interesting enough flavour profile that I didn't get sick of the taste. This is a good time to mention that neither Myles nor I are affected by sugar (i.e., we don't get 'sugar highs' or 'sugar crashes'), so that factor isn't involved in any of our rankings.
Unless there is another flavor out there that can make me change my mind, this is the best Faygo flavor out there in my eyes. If it's there on the drink shelf at EzyMart, I'm taking it. It makes me wish that the other flavors were this accurate to their name.
Re-drinkability
Myles: 20/20 Roni: 17/20 Average Rating: 18.5/20
The only reason my score is knocked down is because of the sugar content written on the back of this thing. I actually really like the drink as-is, and I'd get it pretty often if it wasn't so detrimental to my health! Same feeling as Pineapple, but better. Another side note is that this flavour is sold out everywhere in our main city except for one store location. Could be a sign that Grape Faygo is actually good!
Would I drink this again? Absolutely. This isn't even the first time I've had this particular flavor before. I chose this flavor for this review knowing it would be a relief from the tongue-incinerating experiences that were cotton candy and pineapple. I can only hope the other flavors that we are yet to review in the future are as enjoyable as this.
Summary
Myles’ Rating: 82/100 Roni’s Rating: 70/100 Average Rating: 76/100
Grade: B

So I'm editing chapter 31 tonight, I'm kinda trying to pre-edit them before my grammarly paid subscription runs out mid April. And I gotta say this scene with Plo Koon is filling my heart with joy.
I just want to hug and squish him. So I'm gonna post a snippet, because why not?
This takes place right after the latest posted chapter where they find out Myles has been kidnapped by Death Watch.
Tyvokka tugged the younger Jedi by the arm a little more distance away so that they could have some privacy. Jaster seemed too involved with what was going on to pay them too much mind.
«He is right. You are too emotionally invested in this situation and making a rash decision. It is unlike you.»
Plo Koon's brow ridges creased even further in a frown.
"They kidnapped someone, Master. Even if Jaster and I had no emotional connection, I would feel obligated to help. Our duty is to protect and assist in times of crisis." The younger Jedi countered.
«He is not a member of the Republic; that is where our duty lies. » Tyokka pointed out with merciless logic. «I understand why you feel compelled to help, my young Padawan, but you must be mindful of your feelings and how they could cloud your judgment.»
The Kel Dor let out a frustrated sigh, which was only further magnified by the antiox mask. "Myles is a good man and doesn't deserve to be tortured or worse at the hands of Death Watch." He stated firmly in his resolve.
"Master, even if he is not a member of the Republic, he is still in danger and has been kidnapped. I will assist them because it is the right thing to do. You taught me to always do the right thing. If you think that means I am compromised because of my relationship with Jaster, then I fear you have lost sight of what our mission is supposed to be. Treaty lines shouldn't dictate who we help."
Tyvokka was surprised and taken aback by the passionate way his former student spoke to him. Worse, he felt shamed because Plo was right, and he instantly regretted his own shortsightedness.
His concern that Plo might be over-invested had clouded his own judgment, but Tyvokka was willing to admit when he was wrong, and he reached out and caught his former student's shoulders in his great hair paws.
«You are right, and I am ashamed to admit I overreacted. It's not every day that the Padawan teaches the Master, but I am proud of the Jedi you have become and, more importantly, the man you have become for being willing to stand by your principles so firmly.»
The mottled color marking Plo Koon's skin darkened to a deeper color in the Kel Dor version of a blush. "Master, you flatter me too much."
«Nonsense, I flatter you the proper amount. Now, go inform your Mandalorian he will have two more people to assist in this crisis while I call the Temple and apprise them of the situation.»
"Master Yoda won't like it."
«I've known Master Yoda for centuries and am less impressed with his rank than you are. I will deal with him.» The Wookie shoved Plo in the direction of Jaster less than gently and wandered back toward the office so that he could make his call in peace.
Jaster looked over at Plo with a strained expression. He hadn't heard their conversation but had read enough of their body language to know they had been arguing.
"I'm assuming Tyvokka tried to talk you out of volunteering for this nerf rodeo?"
"He did, but I pointed out a Jedi's duty is to protect and help in times of crisis."
Somehow, Jaster looked even more pained over that reveal. "Plo… I'm not sure I want you involved in this. The blowback could be bad. I am not going to let Tor Vizsla get away with this. This could reflect poorly on the Jedi Order, and I don't want your position as a Jedi to be endangered in any way."
"We don't do the right thing because it is easy. Sometimes, it is hard and requires sacrifice, but I will stay true to my path just as you would. Even if we were not involved, I would help out because it is the right thing to do and because I will stand by while an innocent man is harmed just because it might be inconvenient. I have faith that the other members of the Jedi Order will see that."
Something complicated and inscrutable flashed across Jaster's face before he leaned up to press their foreheads together in a brief kov'nyn . "I love you so much. And thank you for being the person that you are."

“I have longed all these years, for Rhaenys, the sister I lost in the Sack of Kings Landing. Can you imagine my delight when I learnt I had yet another sister, who had been hidden in plain sight for twenty years?” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “Rule by my side, be my Hand, help me mend the Seven Kingdoms and usher in a golden age of Targaryen rule.”
“I wish I could believe you true. I wish my brother had survived the Sack of King’s Landing. I wish it was only Rhaenys’s blood, dripping off of Tywin Lannister’s hands. That my children had more than one uncle by blood.” She said, her voice thick with unshed tears. “Yet I have Dreamt, and had Seeings, and been warned by ancestors as varied as Bloodraven, Visenya the Conqueror, Daenys the Dreamer, Queen Helaena, Aegon the Conqueror, and Uncle Aemon at the Wall, of a black dragon painted red, covered in a cloth of gold. The Golden Company, howevermuch it is a sellsword company, working for coin, would never aid a Targaryen in reclaiming the Iron Throne. All their commander generals and most of their other officers have been Blackfyre loyalists, or their descendants.”
The wolf bared its teeth. The red and the yellow dragons swooped lower.
“I am here simply to request that you leave, and to reclaim my family’s ancestral sword. I will let you leave unharmed, if you so do.”
“What would it take to convince you, sister?” Aegon choked out.
“You cannot. I am sorry you have been raised in a lie, but my brother is dead. Blackfyre, if you please.” She said, holding out her hand.
“You dare dismiss your king?” Jon demanded.
“I am the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, Prince Rhaegar’s only surviving child. Did you think anyone with a shred of knowledge of history would believe you? Both of my grandfathers fought in the war of the Ninepenny Kings. Ser Barristan Selmy killed the last male-line Blackfyre pretender, the captain general of the Golden Company. It was that deed that got him elevated to the Kingsguard. If you wanted him to have as much as a shred of credibility, you should have picked any other sellsword company. Better yet, you should have handed him off to grandmama eighteen years ago.” she said, resting her left hand on the dirk at her hip and beckoning with the right she still had extended towards Aegon. “Telling Queen Rhaella is the only way anyone would have believed you, believed him true. Yet she never would have. Face it, Jon, you spent five years in the Golden Company under captain general Ser Myles Toyne. The original agreement must have been with him. There is no way a Toyne would work towards a Targaryen restoration; it is as likely as having Stannis Baratheon crown me tomorrow.”
“You dare, you, the cause of the entire War of the Usurper.” Jon bit out.
“I think you will find, Jon Connington, that the trigger of what would be known as Robert’s Rebellion, the War of the Usurper, was murder.” She said, cocking a brow. “Mother and father eloped, true. Mother out of love, or a wish for independence, or to be rid of a betrothed she did not want. Father out of the belief that Lyanna Stark’s steel, her wolf blood, her ice, the magic in the Stark bloodline, unbroken since Brandon the Builder raised the Wall eight thousand years ago, would produce a warrior princess worthy of the name Visenya. Worthy of being the third head of the dragon. Worthy of carrying a prophecy he did not fully understand. Yet war could have been avoided, had not Aerys Targaryen burned Brandon Stark alive in his own armour with wildfire, and demanded Rickard, Eddard, and Benjen Stark, and Robert Baratheon travel to King’s Landing to suffer the same fate. For the crime of wanting Lyanna Stark returned, whom they believed to be abducted.”
“Aerys was the king!”
“Aerys was mad!” she bit out. “Hand over Blackfyre, and I will allow you to leave.”
“And if we refuse?” Jon scoffed.
The white dragon raised its head high, looking behind them towards the assembled ranks of the Golden Company.
“Then, Jon, I will simply recreate the Field of Fire. The only parts of Westeros not loyal to me is Joffrey Hill and his sycophants in King’s Landing, the Westerlands, and the Iron Islands. Cousin Renly has decided to lay aside his claim, to keep his position as Master of Laws on the Small Council, and wedding Aunt Daenerys.” She said, taking a step closer to grip the hilt of Blackfyre.
He gripped her wrist to wrench her hand away, but froze as an arrow flew just an inch past his head.
“Those arrows are poisoned, Blackfyre. I might be a Targaryen, the Blood of Old Valyria, but I am also a Stark, the blood of Winterfell, a daughter of the North. I was raised by Rickard Stark as his heir, the future Stark, Lady Paramount, Warden of the North. I am loved, honoured, respected there. The Crannogmen of the Neck do not allow me to walk anywhere unguarded.”
With that, she drew Blackfyre out of the scabbard at his waist, and turned to return to her dragon. Her wolf followed her, and Ser Arthur Dayne, her sworn shield, her protector, walked backwards so he still had them in his sight.

28mm A Song of Ice and Fire: Maelys Blackfyre
Continuing Sellsword Summer, as a follow-up to the Golden Company unit I've decided to do something for Maelys Monday!  Rewinding a full 40 years before the start of the main series, I've put together a figure to represent Maelys Blackfyre, the last of the Blackfyre pretenders, was killed by Barristan Selmy during the War of the Ninepenny Kings. He's a claimant to the Iron Throne and captain general of The Golden Company (by virtue of twisting the head off his cousin to take control of it), which makes him a serious threat to House Targaryen's rule
Tumblr media
Famously, Maelys had a small second head on his throat, and, probably having gigantism, was physically huge. So to get that size across, I've used a Warhammer Chaos Warrior as the base for the figure, on account of how much larger they are than the historical ranges I normally use
As a descendant of the Targaryens, I've given Maelys the silver-gold hair, and purple eyes of the family. Here's a slightly closer view of Blackfyre and its scabbard. Being the ancestral Valyrian Steel sword of House Targaryen passed down from all the kings since Aegon I, I've painted the scabbard in Targaryen black and red, with rubies down the length of it.
Tumblr media
For the sword itself, given that Valyrian steel is basically magical Damascus Steel in-universe, I've tried to give it a rippled Damascus-y look and the dark grey coloration that Valyrian Steel is usually described as.
And a view of Maelys' cloak. I've given him a gold skull tied to his cloak to represent his cousin Daemon (given that Maelys pulled his head off). I feel like even though Maelys killed him and took over his sellsword company, he'd still feel a little bit of obligation, as a fellow Blackfyre, to take Daemon back to Westeros with him
Tumblr media
And here is King Maelys I with his royal squire (and later captain-general of the Golden Company), a tiny teenage Myles Toyne.
Tumblr media
I’m fully on board with @mylestoyne ‘s theory that Myles was with Maelys on the Stepstones, and I feel like in response to the ableism that Maelys would likely have faced since birth, he would put a very deliberate emphasis on his name, status and lineage to try to draw attention to his legitimacy and his claim. (Partly as a parallel to Tyrion, and the ableism he faces in the story, and has internalized)
So to reinforce that, he's styling himself as King Maelys I, carrying Aegon I’s sword Blackfyre, and taking a squire from a famous Westerosi noble house. His armour and cloak are painted in red-and-black dragon colours, with gold accenting, and a gold skull on the breastplate to highlight his rank and status in the Golden Company
Hopefully he’s come out ok! I’ll put up a separate post to showcase Myles a bit more to show the details a bit better there

The King, the Soldier, and the Spy: Chapter 9
Last chapter, folks! Read on AO3
-----------------------
The interior of Gardulla’s palace is cooler than most of the buildings on Tatooine. It means that when Jango watches Fulcrum shimmy into another painted-on dress the next night, this one deep red and faintly shimmering, it is followed with a rugger-fur stole. It’s far too hot for her to wear it on the trip from ship to building, but now that they’re already inside a climate-controlled space…
“See something you like?” she asks, meeting his eyes in the mirror.
“Always,” Jango tells her.
She grins, small and fleeting, and then goes to sit on the bed and pull on her boots. There’s a heel, but nothing too big, and probably that balance between thin enough to be a jabbing weapon and thick enough to actually support weight. The way she crosses her leg to get at the buckle on the straps pulls on the seam at the top of the slit, showing off enough of her leg that Jango just wants to get to his knees and press his face to it, clutch at the limb and wait for her to put her hands in his hair and drag him up once she’s decided he’s earned a kiss, or…
He has been told, mostly by Myles, that this is kind of weird.
Jango has resolved not to tell him anything more about the relationship he has with Fulcrum.
She stands and walks to him, slow and with a swing to her hips, painted lips curled into a smile. She looks like sin, and she’s his. She stops just inches away, looking down at him, and he knows he can’t kiss her, not when she’s just finished getting ready, not when she’s got on a glittery gloss that’ll smear the second he touches it, but he wants to. She dips forward to put her mouth by his ear, not quite touching.
“Say my name, ‘alor.”
“Ahsoka,” he whispers almost against her montrals. If he touches, his face will doubtlessly get gold dust on it, and they can’t afford that now.
She pulls away, smiling in that smug way that wraps around his heart and yanks, and he realizes that his hands are on her hips only when he reflexively squeezes at the expression.
“I’ll have my wicked way to you when we’re done,” she promises, reaching up and gripping his chin to rub a thumb against his bottom lip. “Maybe we’ll even invite ourselves a guest, hm?”
He nips at her finger, just to see her laugh, and pulls his helmet back on. “Conflict of interest.”
“Oh, he won’t mind,” Fulcrum muses. “Goodness knows we’re reaching the end of his time with us. Rank won’t be a problem, soon.”
“Hm,” Jango says. He has nothing to add to that. Instead, he asks, “any progress on your pet project?”
“Yes,” she says, slipping her hand into his offered elbow. “Now, shall we?”
--
Three days in, their systems, slices, and strategically-placed droids are ready, and they spring their trap.
Jango knows he has some of the best slicers alive on his staff, but there’s something painfully gratifying about watching Gardulla attempt to explode one of her slaves, only to fine that the detonator doesn’t work.
Nor does the detonator for the next slave over.
None of them do.
The virus is being spread by droids, small and unobtrusive, all pulsing out a permanent deactivation, and complex enough to deconstruct different brands of that deactivation as necessary. He doubts they’re going to get the entire planet like this, but the major cities are already being burned through.
(Not Jabba’s, yet, but they’ll get him once they’re done here.)
Gardulla’s death is not a quick or clean one. It is performed at the hands of one of her slaves, a Zabrak with a wild look in his eyes, who’s wrestled a blaster away from one of the Hutt’s bodyguards. The shots don’t go to critical spots immediately, but none of the lowest slaves are stopping him. Gardulla dies bit by bit, from a dozen wounds that get closer and closer to her head before someone gets another blaster and makes the final kill shot.
And then they shoot a few times more.
(All those slaves who’ve dragged themselves to positions of power, who think to save the Hutt, are held back and away by those who have loyalty to breakers of chains, rather than makers of them.)
He stalks behind Fulcrum as she traverses the room, a hand on his blaster and a threat in his stride. As she drifts, she gives the slightest orders with twitches of her hand; the ‘hired’ Mandalorians they’ve brought, untraceable by the Hutts, spread out and deal with what needs dealing.
“Next up, Jabba,” Vos mutters, and Jango sees him rub the back of his neck as he watches the room. The padawan’s not quite in character anymore, but that’s easily fixed. Jango doesn’t even have to say much, with the role he’s been playing.
“Clean-up’s yours,” he grunts.
Vos darts a look at him, brow furrowed. “What?”
“Planet’s going to need help,” Jango says. He doesn’t roll his eyes, because with his luck, Vos would sense it even through the beskar. “You’re the one with the datapad and contacts, kid.”
Vos takes a moment to process, and then with the slightest twitch in the direction of furrowing brows, the implicit suggestion is picked up.
Call in the Jedi. Mandalore can’t handle this long enough to protect the planet from Hutts returning, not when it’s on the other side of the galaxy. With the slaves already freed and the Hutts already dead, the Republic can take in the planet with less fussing than they usually have about Hutt space, and finally push in the border from Rodia.
Fulcrum’s voice pitches high from a few feet away.
“Hello, little one. Oh, you’re adorable. You’re Ani, aren’t you?“

"Chapel's closed, I'm afraid- I'm about to head home." The sun dips low over their shoulder- and it's perhaps an odd visual, someone in a priest's habit lighting a cigarette and taking a long drag, the rosary hung about his wrist clinking against the metal of the battered zippo in his grasp. But Huntsville is an odd place, and of all things, a chain-smoking, heavily tattooed priest probably ranked rather low among them, given Absinthe's tenure in town. He takes a moment, eyes adjusting to the setting sun as the light of their lighter flickers out and the smoke exhaled from his nose clears. "Oh- Myles! Sorry, didn't realize it was you." He checks his watch. "Headed home then?" The library probably closed a little before the church, after all- Sin had a tendency to cut it close, spending some nights sleeping on a pew in the back because he worked well into twilight.
"Oh- oh my god hold on." There's a pause, as he turns on a heel and goes to race back inside- pausing, to sit his cigarette down in an ashtray on a picnic table, before racing inside- returning with a stack of books and picking it up once more. "Maybe it's a good thing you came this way headed home for the night- I've got to return these tomorrow. I've not had a late book in ten years." He smiles, taking another drag. "How's things going in town, anyway?"

JF:OS/My RepCom Musing: Mandalorian armor color scheme
(The majority of conclusion about Mandalorian armor color scheme was in fact written ages ago as a way to analyze mandalorian traditions through different eras. This is in fact a translated and shortened version)
Though the Republic Commando book series likes to empathize how Mandalorians pick the colors of their armor either for the meaning of said color (black for justice, gold for revenge for example) or for the solely aesthetic reasons (what they like) it is not exactly true for bigger  groups (clans?) that operate as organized military, like those from Jango Fett: Open Seasons.
Tor Vizsla’s Death Watch and Jaster Mereel’s True Mandalorians came from the same mandalorian mercenary community. Despite the extreme different ideology, both groups followed the same armor color code for military ranks and hierarchy among their respective groups.
(The Original) LEADERS
Tor and Jaster both wore black/dark armors with red elements such as cape, shoulder pads (with specific sign on it). Vizsla was never shown in a helmet, but there is a possibility that his viewfinder border would have a red color, similar to Jaster’s one.
Tumblr media
Squad Commander (Jango)
When young Fett was finally allowed to lead his own squad, his armor had a green color but the same as Mereel, the viewfinder border was painted red. Additionally, the forearm protectors were also red/red-ish, in contrast to his squad members. Only shoulder and knee pads were yellow and the vast majority, if not all of his teammates, wore those in the same color. Also, no different color of cape for Jango and his men.
Tumblr media
During the mission on Korda IV, Jaster’s warriors were divided into three different groups, all represented by specific symbols visible on their breastplates:
Jango and serving under him the “foot soldiers” had red circle
Jaster Mereel and the Headhunter Company had yellow / gold diamond
Montross and his Vertigo Company - Mandalorians with jetpacks (flying experiences) had a red rectangle / square
It is also worth noting that soldiers had such markings also on their shoulder pads, like it can be seen in the example below with Mereel's subordinates and the characteristic full yellow diamonds.
Tumblr media
During Jango’s first mission as squad leader, his most likely second-in-command was Silas, whose blue color of viewfinder border (man in the middle) varied from Jango’s leadership red (on right) and common trooper’s yellow-ish one (on left).
Tumblr media
After Jaster’s death and Fett's promotion to Mandalore,
Jango’s armor changed. The same as his mentor, armor plates and jumpsuit had black/dark color with red elements such as viewfinder border, cape and shoulder pads. Jango had adittionally red forearm protectors.
Tumblr media
(During that time, the appearance of Tor’s armor and gear did not change that much)
Seconds-in-command
For Jaster it was Montross who seemed to fulfill this important role (at least until he betrayed the True Mandalorian’s leader on Korda) while the unnamed Death Watch member killed by young Jango in the first issue was the closest to being Tor’s right hand as far as comics showed us.
Tumblr media
The common color for seconds in command is blue, as was seen with their viewfinder border (at least in case of Montross), cape and shoulder pads.
Surprisingly, in the next issues, the story did not introduce anyone of a similar meaning in regard to Tor, while on Galidraan, Jango’s second in command was most likely Myles, as he was the one Mandalorian soldier Fett asked for raport at the end of their mission and whom tried to contact with to warn his men about Jedi.
Tumblr media
Myles’s armor color schemes however vary a bit from Montross and the unnamed Death Watch member with the yellow shoulder pads. This specific combination of blue viewfinder and yellow shoulder pads is something actually seen with Sylas, Jango’s second-in-command during his first mission as squad leader. Still, as Myles’s blue cape is still visible, I do think his color scheme puts him in a higher place in hierarchy, with possibility he simply took over the duties of Jango’s previous second in command killed in action or True Mandalorians upgraded their ranks insignia.
Common troopers
Since the story is focused on Jango & True Mandalorians, it is hard to tell anything specific about Death Watch’s ranks, but we can see some generalizations in case of soldiers of both groups.
Jaster Mereel (and later, Jango Fett)’s men
The most common color between “low ranks” is green and yellow elements of armor and blue-ish or gray jumpsuit.
Some have capes (but not red or blue), some do not wear them at all. Despite the fairly same colors, we can observe different symbols on the armor - just like in the situation from Korda VI discussed earlier, it was a 'system' for dividing soldiers into appropriate companies, but soldiers also have specific marks (maybe some clan, 'lucky' markings or 'medals' for campaigns and character traits, e.g. bravery or courage?)
Tumblr media
Tor Vizsla’s men
Similar like Mereel’s mercenaries, the common soldiers of Death Watch wear toned down colors like gray and green, often with yellow viewfinder borders. Same as their opponents, not everyone wears capes and when they do, those are rarely in red or blue colors. In Jango Fett: Open Seasons their color was usually in green/gray-ish tone. Some, like Tor Vizsla himself, have the Death Watch mark on their armor plates.
Tumblr media
Conclusion from Jango Fett: Open Seasons:
I’m aware that characteristic colors were given to main characters of the comics so the reader could easily follow them in the large group of armored soldiers. But the colored ranks play the same purpose in-universe for the common soldiers.
My crossover conclusion between JF:OS and Republic Commando book series is that, if Vau, Skirata and others mandalorian training sargeants from Kamino in fact served under Jaster Mereel and/or Jango Fett, their armor plates color scheme should be similar to those of True Mandalorians from the comics during that period of their life.
(Also, books like say the Mandalorians did not have their own army which to be fair is not true, what Jaster and Jango lead for years was an army. Maybe not the biggest one but still an organized military unit, which at least two companies and one company may vary from a few dozen to 200 soldiers, which their own ships and one big mother ship (base) and most likely supplies and armory, since all soldiers had access to the same equipment.)
