Alanis: You'll help a lot more than just this village where you're going. Murph: Uh, Balor's got tears running down his cheeks and he goes-- Balnor: I couldn't help them. I can barely swing a sword. Murph: Alanis reaches down and touches his cheek, and she goes-- Alanis: There's a war coming, and everyone needs to fight. Even old men who don't know how. I'll need to erase your memory. The people you're helping can't know what we're doing. Murph: Balnor nods. Balnor: You can try, but I don't think I'll ever forget-- Murph: She holds her hand over his forehead, white energy pulsates from it and transfers to him, and he gets this thousand yard stare. Balnor: -- Bobby. Alanis: It's time to go now, Balnor. Traveler Alanis: But my time is coming to an end. And I am here to finish my life's work. Murph: You see she reaches her hand out. Traveler Alanis: It's time to go, Balnor. Murph: You see Balnor looks confused. Balnor: What do you mean? Murph: She takes a deep breath and gestures to the world around you. Traveler Alanis: At this place, at this time, when the hope and the inspiration of the world is a literal source of power, I believe I can cast one last powerful wish. [Caldwell sobs softly.] To bring you back to your timeline, to your village and your family, before the attack. You are strong enough to save them now. Murph: You see Balnor gets a thousand yard stare, and he goes-- Balnor: Bobby. Murph: And you see he looks extremely happy, um, but then he looks at you guys, and he looks sad. Moonshine, tearfully: It's okay Balnor. Like all the most powerful things in this world, I knew I was only borrowing you.

fractured and embittered and enemies at the end but pov you're a god with two divine hearts and yet you're so afraid of your two former companions beating you you have to trap them and keep them closest to your heart... alongside the boy you used to kill your god... alanis and ulfgar have passed on the torch, are just too scarred by a demonic disease and wish stones, and yet they're the ones thiala went for, the ones she still had by the end. they started out together. and thiala ended with them. and then they outgrew her.
