Question for the nexo fandom but where did the word “nexo” come from?? Does it have meaning that I just don’t know about? Is this a non English thing? Is it just Lego with an N for Knight (even if it does start with n) and an x just to look cooler?? Help?
Quick fyi, I won't mention Dominik in this post, I think just taking a look at the state of my tumblr blog is enough evidence that he is a big favourite of mine haha
Gulácsi Péter aka Gula
For years, he truly carried the whole hungarian nt on his back. He is a goalkeeper, who was the first choice goalie for both Hungary and his club, RB Leipzig up until a year ago, when he sadly hurt his ACL. He has been back like for just a month or two after the big injury, so he is still unable to play regularly, but I do hope he will be back soon. Not only he is a fantastic goalkeeper, but a great person too. A few years ago, there was a big controversy around a law they passed in Hungary, basically making it much harder for same sex couples to adopt children. Gulácsi and his wife were a part of a few famous, influental hungarian people who publically protested and raised their voice against said law.
Schäfer András aka Séfi
Listen, I love Dominik, but not even him can surprass the love I have for this man. Schäfer, or as he is often called, Séfi, has to be one of the most likeable players of the squad. He is humble, funny, incredibly passionate and driven, a great footballer and just a sweetheart overall. He is currently working on his comeback from a nasty injury for both Union Berlin and the nt, which I hope will go without an issue. I really miss seeing him play and I hope he will be available for the Euros. Just look at this picture from the last Euros, he was a teen back then, who just scored his first international goal against Neuer of all people, but sadly, Hungary still lost the group:
Dibusz Dénes aka Dini
Hungary is not short on likeable, dilfy, talented goalkeepers, that is for sure. Dibusz is not the regular no.2 goalkeeper, and in the last year, when he had to step up in the absence of Gulácsi, he has proven that. He is a very talented goalkeeper, and without any bias would be able to be the first choice in a mid-table Bundesliga team, only if he wouldn't be so loyal to the most popular hungarian club, Ferencváros, where he has been the captain for many years, and likely will retire one day, as he keeps refusing other clubs. He is also very intelligent, a big favourite for post match interviews. He is just so very well-spoken, calm and collected. And an absolute dilf, by the way.
Loic Nego aka Lajos
Originally, Nego is a French born football player, who got the hungarian citizenship after he spent many-many year playing for a hungarian team. He doesn't speak fluent hungarian, but he is still so beloved by the hungarian fans for his passion, hard work, humble nature and talent, that he was given the honory hungarian name "Lajos", both as a joke and a token of appreciation. Nego is often the unsang hero of many matches, he is fast, agile and creates so many chances. Last month, in the home game against Serbia, he bossed around basically the whole pitch, assisting and being one of the most cruical players for the team. Thank God, this year he transfered from the hungarian team he played for to a french team, where he can finally shine his talent.
