Heavily pregnant guy decides to let his body do all the work when he goes into labor. He doesn't bother pushing, taking his clothes off or anything. He just goes about his day, occasionally stopping to feel his baby coming down inside of him. Eventually, he gives birth wherever he is and finally pushes out his first baby. He tried to relax in hopes of saving energy to push out the other twin. Little does he know, it's gonna be way harder than the first.
didn't say this on here but i got caught up in the earthquake on new years' but i'm alive and alright and so are all my friends and my neighbourhood didn't suffer much! japanese people are so efficient it grounded me from panicking most of the time. even if we weren't near the epicentre it was still scary! anyways. im good now. i feel safe again
thinking about how they said grover was affected the most out of everyone bc he was alone and how nico and bianca stayed for 70 years inside that hotel and didn't forget each other bc they were always within reach and how that little detail makes their story even more devastating bc they got through it together and the moment they got out they get separated and then bianca never comes back
take a trope for a god kid, turn it around, then give them the necessary power boost so percy no longer has to feel like the sole force of nature who had to dunk himself in the styx, which gets you:
- a Zeus kid with bad eyesight who's plagued by self-doubt
- an Aphrodite kid who hates artifice and wields truth like a knife
- a Hephaestus kid with sarcastic humor and burning rage
- a Hades kid representing jewels and magic instead of skeletons
- an Ares kid who's chill and clumsy (and terminally ill, unless I'm reading too much into the metaphor)
it's a pretty good combo! they're so interesting! you could do so much with these stereotype-breakers
+ classics are classic for a reason (see: power of the sea distilled into one dude, ghost king constantly on the brink of death, purple-cape-wearing action superhero, and blonde batman.)
50 year old trans man thought he went through menopause until he's suddenly giving birth on his bedroom floor. It can't be possible can it? But it is. He's crying out for help and gripping whatever is near him as he tries to push. His baby's head is stuck in his narrow hips.
my personal favorite interpretation of Nico's confession to Percy in BoO and Percy's reaction is that. Nico was one foot in the grave at the time - heavily injured, exhausted, probably suffering from blood loss, actively turning into shadows, etc etc. And he mentions himself several times that he's not acting quite like himself, such as smiling a lot and his mind wandering and his vision being unsure. Dude is OUT OF IT. He is one strong breeze away from crumpling on the floor and falling unconscious for multiple days (again).
a.) no wonder Will was like "three days in the infirmary now. you will melt into a puddle if you try and summon a wishbone." cause Nico was probably standing there with a glassy look in his eyes waving like a leaf in the wind on the verge of collapsing.
b.) just imagine Percy's pov: The guy you've known for three years stumbles up to you on the verge of death, clearly still bleeding and half-fading into nothingness. Obviously a little delirious at best. Normally he's extremely awkward talking to people and hates physical interaction and every time he talks to you he looks like he wants to run away as fast as possible. You are 80% sure he wants you dead but is trying to be polite about it. He walks up to you with the confidence only someone suffering from extreme dehydration/major blood loss on the verge of passing out can have, tells you that you're not his type, high-fives your girlfriend (who you thought he had a crush on?) (you weren't even sure he knew what high-fives were. you're still not sure he does) and stumbles off without finishing the conversation. You ask your girlfriend if she understands what the hell just happened. She has no idea either. You decide to chalk it up to him having no idea what was going on either.
Three days later Nico wakes up in the infirmary in a cold sweat, having remembered that interaction and goes "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"
