Whale Trail is the perfect representation of obligate symbiosis.

If the whale does not trail, the whale cannot whale. If the trail does not whale the trail cannot trail.

The whale needs the trail to continue whaleing for if the whale does not trail the whale will fall and presumably demise. The trail keeps the whale alive and therefore the whale is dependent on the trail.

Likewise, the trail cannot trail without the whale for the trail does not exist without the whale. The whale is what turns the trail from colourful bubbles lacking purpose to a full on trail. 

As such neither can exist without the other, they are entirely dependent on one another for survival.
