"It's you and me, now and forever"
Tumblr media
It’s you, Omar thinks about when he gets shot in the chest by that college kid. The fact that you have absolutely no idea that he’s in love with you. He lies on his back staring up at a water stained ceiling and prays to Allah that he lives long enough to tell you that, that by some miracle he makes it home tonight. The agony, it stabs through his ribs as his ears ring like crazy. The taste of metal twangs on his tongue and he wonders if he’s drowning, if it’s the taste of his own blood climbing up the back of his throat.
Maggie’s face swings into his vision and there’s a reassurance there, a comfort because if these are his last words, there’s a witness to them.
“Hanna…” He chokes but he can’t seem to catch his breath. “Tell her…”
“You’re ok.” Maggie soothes, her voice filtering back into his ears as her fingers undo the Velcro straps of his vest. He feels the pressure in his chest loosen as she gently removes the Kevlar. “The vest caught it. I promise you’re going to be ok. I just need you to breathe for me.”
He sucks in a breath and then another, the oxygen fills up his lungs as his heart rate begins to even out. It’s the second time he’s been shot this year.
It’s a couple of hours later that he shows up at the Human Trafficking division in Brooklyn. You’re standing in front of a whiteboard in the conference room, setting up for the team briefing tomorrow morning. You like to be prepared, it’s one of the things he loves about you because it means he doesn’t have to worry as much.
You look up when he enters the room, he looks tired, a little dishevelled. His tie is missing, the top two buttons of his white shirt are open, the sleeves rolled up his muscular forearms.
“Omar.” You say softly and before another word can leave your mouth, he kisses you.
That emotion in his chest, it breaks like a wave as his lips brush over yours with a tenderness he reserves only for you.
“You are the light of my life.” He murmurs as he cradles your face between his hands. “It’s you and me, now and forever.”

Because I Need You
Tumblr media
Because I Need you
OA X Reader
Y/N’s Pov
Things were hard lately. Work has been a lot lately we were working a rough case and everyone was on edge.
A serial killer was kidnapping young women around town. It was young women on their way home from work. Most of them were 9-5 people who were just trying to get home.
We figured it was because it was easy to track and follow. This killer was different though it seemed like he didn’t  have a cooling off period.
It was like clock work every day at the same time we were discovering someone new,
Every time we felt like we were getting somewhere close we just ended right back up at square one again.
It was all taking a major toll on all of us. Literally watching the minutes click down until someone else has lost their life.
None of us had been home in days. We were each taking turns sleeping in the breakroom. None of us could fall asleep though. I mean how could you knowing  what was going to happen.
You all would take a moment to eat and take a breather as much as you could. It was hard because you knew you needed to be on top of your game you had to take care of yourself but every time you did it felt like a waste of time.
Like right now you were currently sitting outside. Letting the sun hit your face, you were looking down at your lunch not being able to eat.
You were just re playing every connection in your head. Where could we go from here. Where can we look at next to help.
You were so in your head you didn’t even notice when OA came and sat down next to you. He placed his hand softly on the top of yours in order to get your attention.
“Hey talk to me” He said.
You snapped your neck up to look at him. He gave you a worried look on his face,. His big brown eyes not breaking contact with you.
“I uh i’m good just a little tired” You said lying through your teeth.
He knew you better than that. He knew how exhausted and tired you were.
“Y/N come on it’s me” He said
You took a deep breath in and let it all out.
“I am just worried about it you know the time i’m just eating could be time doing something” You said.
“We are doing everything we can to help but you still gotta worry about yourself” OA said.
“I know but it’s not enough people are still dying” You said
“Yes but that’s on us we are doing everything we possibly can” OA said
“I don’t know i just” You said struggling to find the words.
“I know were all feeling it but please eat something i know you haven’t eaten sense last night” OA said.
You just looked at your food you were way to tired exhausted to do anything
“Please and then were taking a break were gonna go lay down” OA pleaded.
You just gave him a confused look and his entire face had turned bright pink red.
“I would abosoloutely love to go lay down with you. Is that what you do with all your friends” You asked pushing your arm into his.
“Shut the hell up you know what i meant” He said smiling.
I mean you weren’t complaining about the thought of laying down next to him. You had such a massive crush on him. I mean have you seen him he’s so damn beautiful.
“Sure i know” You said winking at him.
“Look you gotta share this with me you haven’t either so you gotta eat something to.” You said breaking your food in half.
You basically threw it in his hand so he couldn’t have said no. you picked up half and toasted him and he toasted it right back.
You were feeling a smidge better eating something and sitting next to OA always made you feel better.
You both ate in silence and when you were done he got up and stuck his hand out to grab yours.
You took it and he pulled you out of the seat. You both headed out and it was quiet on the way down.
You knew he was right that you needed sleep. You could feel like your body was on it’s way to just giving out
Finally after an entirety you made it to the bunker room and collapsed on the bed. You closed your eyes for a moment while your body felt like it was taking a deep breath.
You opened them up to just seeing OA standing in the corner.
“What are you doing over there I thought you were supposed to lay down with me” You asked ‘
“Uh yeah no it’s fine it’s just one bed in here I’ll go somewhere else i just wanted to make sure you were okay” OA said twisting his ring.
“Don’t be crazy let’s go” You said sitting up and reaching out for him.
He smiled and reached out and grabbed your hand. You squeezed it and laid down. OA sat down at first and then slowly laid down like the bed was going to break in two.
As soon as you felt him lay down you lifted up and laid your head on his chest. You could feel his heart beating. It was going super fast and honestly it was such a comforting sound.
Not even a few moments later you fell asleep into a deep sleep. You didn’t even set a timer to wake you up.
Your body needed the sleep. You haven’t slept a wink in days.
OA just countied to lay there watching you sleep for a moment. His heart beating fast at the fact you were so close next to him.
He was the responsible one who set a timer to wake you both up and just a few moments later he fell asleep just along with you.
 1 Hour Later
OA’s alarm had gone off you were so upset because it was the best sleep you had gotten in months.
You groaned waking up and squinting your eyes.
“Mm do we have to” You said not lifting your head up.
OA has his arms wrapped around you in a big bear hug. It felt so nice
“I know I know we have to” OA said groggily.
He unwrapped his arms around you and you sat up wiping the sleep from your eyes. No doubt you looked a hot mess.
OA was looking up at you and smiled.
“You look beautiful” OA said.
Your face turned blood red and you smiled at him. His face looked worried like he wasn’t sure how you were going to react.
“No i don’t look at me i’m at a hot mess” You said groaning.
OA moved some hair out of your face and smiled.
“No your always beautiful” OA said
“So are you such a beautiful man” You said.
It was OA’s turn to blush now. His face turning red as a beet.
“Come on they need us”  You said.
You got up and reached a hand out to help OA. He smiled and grabbed it.
The two of you tried your best to spruce yourself up and then headed out. You made your way back to the JOC. When Jubal was approaching you both in the hallway.
“Hey perfect timing we got something we need all agents and you to go out to the scene” Jubal said.
“What no why she’s not even an agent” OA said.
“I know but we need a team on the lot to help give real up to date information it’s a big plot service is bad down there” Jubal said.
“Hey it’s no big deal i’ll be fine i’ve done it before” You said
OA was tense and you could tell he was still upset but he ended up dropping it.
“Come on i’ll get ready” You said.
“Thank you were out in 15” Jubal said placing a hand on your arm.
You walked to the closet where equipment was that you could take out with you. OA had followed you helping you pack your stuff.
“Hey are you sure” OA said.
“I’m good seriously why are you being so overprotective I mean more than usual” You said asking.
OA just looked down at ring nervously twisting it.
“Because this guy is dangerous” OA said
“They are all” You counterbacked.
You walked over and grabbed his hands and made him look up at you.
“What is going on” You said .
“I can’t loose you everyone keeps getting hurt and dying and being held up at gunpoint and I can’t let that happen to you” OA said in a sad tone is voice cracking a bit.
You knew it had been hard on him. No one liked Rina really but it was still hard and shocking. Maggie had taken a hit and he still hasn’t processed his own attack.  So honestly you weren't surprised.
“Hey look at me nothing is going to happen i’ll be with Ian and Jubal if anything i’m the one worried about you”  You told him.
You could see a tiny bit of relief in his eyes when he knew you would be in the company of others.
You pulled him into a tight hug. He squeezed you back hard like it was the last one ever. You both let go and he smiled down at you
“Let’s go” You said grabbing the bag.
He gave you a look and he grabbed the bag from you carrying it out. He acted like your arms were gonna fall off if you carried something.
“Such a gentleman” You said laughing
“Shut up” OA said laughing.
You both walked out and stood and went to OA’s desk and a few seconds later everyone came out and joined you guys.
“Ready” Jubal said
“Hell yeah let’s go” Maggie said
You all walked out and got into the cars. Maggie refused to let OA drive which made him grumpy the whole time.
It was quiet the whole ride. Everyone is trying to get their heads right. Needing to make sure your head was clear.
About 30 minutes later you arrived to your scene. It was a giant filed with a tiny little farm house looking thing. It was such a creepy looking scene.
“You guys clear the house where set up right over here” Jubal said.
You grabbed OA’s hand and gave it a squeeze. You gave him a smile and a nod. Telling him to stay safe.
They went on and you all set up as fast as you could. A few moments laters swat and search and rescue showed up.
You all were working hard to see if there was anything out there to help find the missing girl.
Right now your suspect was 32 Year old David Ross. His mom was killed when he was young by an intruder . He owned this lot inherited to him by his mom where she passed.
It was such a meeting thing to think about.
You were surveying the plot seeing if anything made sense or stuck out. Was land changed anywhere where was something there that wasn’t supposed to be there.
It was taking forever. You guys were there a solid 2 . Almost pushing three. We had to beat the dark and this twisted timeline we were stuck on.
It felt like a dead end
Finally something stuck out. A drone showed a small shed type thing about 10 yards away. That has to be it.
“Hey i got something a shed about 10 yards away” You said yelling out loud.
“Yeah yeah that’s it” Jubal said
Jubal radio it over the walker and everyone wasn’t breathing at that point. We risked it all if that wasn’t it. Showing this son of a bitch we were here.
Would he get scared and kill her ? Try to harm others.
What felt like eternity the walkie went off
“We got her alive” Scola said
Everyone just let out a breath at the same time. We all started clapping and cheering.
They started walking out towards you guys and OA and Maggie had the guy in handcuffs.
“We did it y’all we got them” Jubal said high fiving everyone.
You all started packing up your stuff and heading out. It was such a relief. Like the weight of the world was lifted off your shoulders. At least for now anyways, until the next case came along. And it was placed right back on there.
On the way back everyone was talking about how they wanted to celebrate. You only cared about one thing. Where was he gonna be
You made it back and by that time we were all heading out to a local bar \ restaurant so Jubal could come and join.
It was a friday night so that son of a bitch was going to sit in a cell until Monday  morning so they dropped his ass off and ran.
Thankfully Isobel said paperwork could wait so we didn’t even think twice. You were currently sitting at OA’s desk while he packed up.
“So are you going out with them” You asked
“Eh I don’t know not in the mood to go out” OA said
“Yeah me either do you wanna grab some takeout and watch a movie” you asked
OA looked over at you and flashed a smile
“Its a date” He said
He got up and grabbed your hand and the two of you walked out.
You got into his car and he made his way down to your place. You got chinese food from the corner place you both loved.
You both were settling in now. You changed into some Pj’s and OA had some left over clothes. It wasn’t the first time he spent the night. In a non romantic OA safe way. He would always sleep on the couch no matter what.
After you both were deciding what movie to watch you wanted a thrasher killer. But OA said it was to much which most would think but it’s your fave genre.
So you both settled on some comedy movie to lighten the mood.
“Why are you eating all the chicken” You groaned
“Because it’s too good and I don’t want you to have any” He said laughing
“That’s so mean” You pouted.
He took some chicken and threw it in your box.
“happy “ He asked
“Well now I am” You said throwing some food back at him
“Oh really so uncalled for” He said trying to act offended .
He took his fork and flung his fork full of rice at you.
It hit all over you and you then returned the favor big time. You picked up a big pile of noodles and held it in the air.
OA gave you a look like you better not.  But of course you did.
“omg “ was all he was able to say.
He took the noodles he could and threw them back at you. Then after that it was a full on food fight.
At one point the two of you stood up and was trying to hide from it. Laughter was filling up the air.
“A truce come on” OA said breathing hard
“Fine but only because were out of food” You said laughing.
You both walked into the middle of the room. You secretly had something behind your back because you didn’t trust him one bit. He looked at you like he was dis trustful
He grabbed your arm and tried forcing you to drop the food
“I knew it” OA said.
You got real close to his face and whispered
“That’s what you get” You said trying not to break eye contact.
Suddenly OA moved in closer and so did you. He slammed his lips against yours and you kissed him back hard. You dropped your food on the floor wrapping your arms around him,
He grabbed you close filling the gap. You two stopped after a second needing air to breathe.
“I love you” OA said
“I love you more” You said
OA took your hand and led you back to the bedroom. He looked at you and placed his hand on your face.
“I want to” You said knowing he wasn’t going to pressure you
He kissed you back slowly and you pulled him onto the bed. The two of you not caring about how sticky or messy you were
. None of those made up in your head scenarios help a flame to this.
After you looked at him.
“I think I need a shower and new sheets” You said laughing
“Yes to both of those” OA said smiling back
“I’m so glad we stayed home” You said.
“I needed you tonight to be here and with me. You can always bring me back  and every other night” OA said
“I need you more always i wouldn’t have been okay without you ” You whispered back .
He had no idea how true that was. It was a rough case but the night ended so much better.
There was always going to be hard and rough cases but as long as you had OA they were just a little less rough

A Shot in the Dark ~ Prologue
Well, welcome to my latest obsession - FBI and OA Zidan. This is a crossover between FBI, FBI: Most Wanted & Blue Bloods. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to be tagged in any future chapters.
I do not own any of the characters of the FBI Franchise and Blue Bloods, they belong to their respective owners
Tumblr media
Summary It's said, you'll always meet twice in life. But you never thought it be in a hostage situation with a gun pressed against your head.
Warnings: hostage situation, canon typical violence, coarse language, smut in later chapters
Tumblr media
The human mind is really the scariest thing of all.
Life in general is scary, and yet you step out of your home each day and face it. You imagine how a situation might turn out if you just changed one thing in your day to day life. Sometimes it’s the sandwich they didn’t have at the bakery and sometimes it’s the choice you make on the job.
“Andrew, drop the gun and let my sister go!” Detective Danny Reagan called, his own weapon trained on the former NYPD officer, voice shaking as he looked at you, seeing his own fear mirrored in your eyes. “She’s got nothing to do with this. You want me. Let the kids and her go.”
Shaking his head, former police officer Andrew O'Sullivan pushed the muzzle of his gun harder against your temple. "They are all the leverage I need to get you to do what I want."
"O'Sullivan! This is Agent Scott and Agent Bell with the FBI. Surrender your weapons and let the hostages go. We will make sure that your demands are met, but you need to let the kids and Miss Reagan go."
You could feel the tears running down your cheeks, but you knew you had to be strong for the children. Their parents put you in charge and you, as their teacher, needed to make sure they'd get out safe. “Please Mister O’Sullivan, you got me, let the children go home. They don’t have anything to do with this.”
Your heart was hammering in your throat watching your brother desperately trying to get Andrew to drop the weapon, the ground feeling like it was going to be pulled from underneath you. And here you thought it was going to be a good day today.
Five hours earlier, 9:15 Bluestone Lane Tribeca Café
"So, heard anything from tall, dark and handsome? You looked cute together."
“Erin!”
“Mom! You’re embarrassing her.”
The lawyer grinned into her coffee mug as the three of you sat together for breakfast. "What!? I saw pictures from way back when. It's been more than four years now, just thought maybe you'd have a run in with him again."
"Nope, haven't seen him since before he started training at Quantico and you would know that. I'm practically living with dad and pop again after those idiots living above me wouldn't have smoked weed and forgot to shut off the water."
Nicky only rolled her eyes at her mother trying to play matchmaker – as always. “You should leave Y/N alone. Danny would have a field day if she came home with him.”
“Thank you, Nicky, I knew why you were my favorite niece.” You took a bite from your chocolate croissant. Usually you’d be getting the breakfast sandwich the café was famous for but today they were all out.
“I’m your only niece, so that’s not a hard feat to do.”
“Yet.” You pointed a finger at the younger woman. “And I don’t even know where he is. I’ll not be running after him and use dads resources to find him.”
“All I’m saying is that you should get laid, you can’t just stay a single workaholic forever."
Sending your sister a disapproving look, you could see the disgust on your nieces face. She was old enough to be part of that conversation and already had one boyfriend, yet you knew she was absolutely embarrassed by her mother's choice of breakfast conversation.
"Mom! God! I'll be heading off to work or you'll start talking about dad and yourself." Nicky, so much like Erin grabbed her purse and to-go cup, leaned over to kiss her mother's cheek before she moved next to you. With her arm draped over your shoulder, she leaned in as if to whisper into your ear but still spoke at normal volume. "Don't let her bully you into looking him up. You do you, Auntie, but she's right, you need to get laid."
Slack jawed at her gall, you turned accusatory eyes on the lawyer. "That's definitely on you, Erin. You taught her to be like that."
"Well, she's definitely got that from me and she'd make a great lawyer like that."
Letting out a sigh, you leaned back in your chair.
Damn, they were right.
Quickly apologizing to God under your breath, you try to anchor yourself to your mug. It had been years since you had seen Omar. You had met him outside a bar in the Financial District, after a date had dumped her right before dessert, telling her she wasn’t worth his time.
“He’s a dick, he wasn’t going to know what to do with you anyway.”
You sat together at the bar and talked about random stuff – friends, hobbies, only things that wouldn’t compromise him as you later found out he was undercover for the DEA.
“You’re quiet, what are you thinking about?”
Blinking, you watched your sister with a small, wistful smile, something she had seen so often when you had gone out to have breakfast with Nicky and her every Saturday morning. “Nothing.” You shrugged your shoulders, but the secret smile that barely turned up the corners of your mouth was still there and the lawyer knew that one, she had seen it often enough.
Erin took a sip from her coffee, narrowing her eyes at you. “Don’t give me that shit, Y/N. It’s Tall, Dark and Handsome isn’t it?”
“Maybe.” You admitted quietly, looking down at your fingers, busy playing with the white napkin under your croissant.
“You should get Eddie to look for him, maybe he’s in town.”
Shaking your head vigorously. “No, I’ll not be looking for him. We would have seen each other, probably...maybe.”
“New York is huge, you think you’d just walk down Broadway and bam! There he is? Y/N, I can assure you, that’s not how it works.” She laughs, knowing all about it with her ex-husband Jack. “You want him, you need to look for him, he’s not just going to turn up if you snap your fingers.”
“Well, maybe I don’t want to look for him, maybe it wasn’t meant to be if I haven’t run into him by now. Or maybe he’s somewhere in D.C., happily married with 1.93 kids, living in the suburbs and chasing the bad guys.”
Chuckling, the lawyer shook her head at you. “You got it all figured out now, huh? Maybe he’s still single, thinking about that maybe with you. He was really nice when he came around for lunch that day.”
“Ugh, don’t remind me, Eddie wouldn’t shut up about him for a week straight.” Just then your phone chimed, letting you know that you needed to get ready to get to your Junior High class for their field trip to the museum. You would meet them together with their parents right in front of the museum. “Shit, I’m late! Sorry Erin, I got to head off.”
“We’re not done talking about him!” She called after you as you raced out of the cafe to the next Metro station.
An hour and a half later you remind your seventh grade students to be nice and listen closely to the lady showing you around the National History Museum. “There’s going to be a test on Monday next week, so you guys should take notes on all of this.”
A groan ripped through the hall and I knew they hated me for this. “But Miss Reagan, you said we could have fun today.” Jimmy calls from the back, a frown on his cute face.
Giggling, you shook your head. They were still thinking it was just going to stay easier from there on out. “I did, but it doesn’t mean you guys can slack off on your school work. This is going to help you with your Science project.”
Groans, followed by sighs from your students were the end of that conversation. You and the group of thirteen-year-olds followed Mrs. Langdon as she talked about the museum, which exhibitions had already been part of the building and what was waiting for the boys and girls of Lower Manhattan Middle School. They were in the Early Adolescence stage and it was absolutely normal for them to act like that. With Nicky, Jack and Sean you had been exposed to that stage early on and you loved them for it.
You entered the Saurichian Hall of the museum, awed by the skeletons, the hairs on your arms starting to raise from the goosebumps at the imagination of having lived back in time, 66 millennia’s ago. But somehow, it wasn’t the only thing that gave you the shivers. At the entrance of the museum you had seen a guy, dressed like everyone else. But you had been around police your whole life and listened to your bothers to know that something was definitely wrong with him. His head was down but you saw his eyes darting about like he was searching for something – or someone.
Getting to the next section, you slightly turned your head away from your students excitingly listening to the tales of each dinosaur exhibited at the museum.
There he was again, the backpack slung low on his shoulders and it looked like he was sweating. Was he sick and needed help? If so, wouldn’t he have asked the people at the front desk or even stayed at home.
Danny had always told you to be vigilant about suspicious people roaming about and this guy fit the description. Should you text Danny or Jamie? They were probably busy with their cases and if he was just a creep you’d make a fool out of yourself and maybe your dad in extension.
Police Commissioner’s daughter accuses visitor at the National History Museum to be a creep and makes a laughing stock out of the Reagan family.
Now that would be the headline of the week.
Turning back to listen to Mrs. Langdon and your students with a sigh you missed him pulling out a gun from under his jacket, pointing it at your back before slightly lifting it up and pulling the trigger.
11:40, Joint Operations Center
“Alright guys, we've got a hostage situation at the National History Museum. Twenty-two students from LoMa Middle School and their teacher. This is high profile. Detective Reagan with the NYPD called it in about fifteen minutes ago.” ASAC Jubal Valentine’s voice rang out through the JOC. He motioned to Elise, one of the Analysts to put every information on the screens. “This is Y/N Reagan, she’s a teacher at the school and also the daughter of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.”
Your picture popped up on the screens, a happy smile on your face as you sat together with your father and your brother Jamie at a city function.
“You know, now that I’m done with my trainee-ship as teacher, we could make it official. Dad wants me to tag along at this function or other and I’d like to take you as my plus one.” You smiled at him, your arms slung around his neck as you lounged together on his bed.
Omar ran his fingers from your shoulder to your elbow and up again. He loved the feeling of your soft skin under his hands, slightly roughed from the army. “It would be nice, I’d love to finally show you off to my family as well. Erin has been nagging me like a hen to know who the guy is making me smile all day.” He smiled, nuzzling her neck and listening to her giggles as his nose and beard rubbed up and down against that point where her neck met her shoulder.
"I'd like that. I bet your sister isn't the only one nagging." He chuckled, burrowing closer and pushing his lower half against yours earning a soft groan from you.
Your fingers raked over his head, feeling the short cropped hair tickle the palm of your hands. “Pop and dad are already giving me those penetrative looks, you know the ones where they are acting like cops and trying to read a suspects thoughts.”
Closing his eyes, the former army ranger breathed in your scent. It was the one thing that grounded him on days his mind sent him back to Iraq. “From what you told me I’m more afraid of your brother, not your father and grandpa.”
Omar moved next to Maggie, a soft Shit leaving his lips as his eyes swept over the screens. It had been a few years since he’d last seen you, only a few days short of leaving for his training at Quantico. Seeing your face, tear track staining your cheeks with the suspect pressing his gun to your head.
The brunette watched her partner, the fingers of his left hand anxiously playing with his ring. A sign that he was nervous. A sign Maggie had learned in the beginning when they first were partnered up.
“You know her?”
He sighed, “We, ugh, we dated for a while before, before I went into training. I...broke it off, because I thought she’d be better off without me.”
“Gosh, OA.” Maggie murmured, scratching a fingernail along her eyebrow thoughtfully. She knew her partner had been in relationships before – he was Muslim, not a virginal saint, but she had never seen him this distraught or anxious.
It was clear as day that you were still important to him and it took everything in him to not run out the door and drive off toward the museum.
"What do we have on the suspect?" Isobel questioned, coming to stand next to her 2nd in charge.
"Suspect is 40 year old Andrew O'Sullivan, former police officer with the NYPD, 54th Precinct and bomb specialist with the Marines. Detective Daniel Reagan, Y/N’s older brother was part of the investigation against him.” Kelly Moran, an analyst at the JOC spoke up, tapping hastily on his keyboard and sending the pictures of their suspect to the bigger screens. “He took drugs from evidence and tried to sell it on the street. O’Sullivan needed it for his daughter, she has leukemia and he was going to take the money to pay for her treatments.”
The analyst pressed a key to show the picture of a little girl, maybe ten years old, grinning at the camera. “Lena O’Sullivan, she”
“His daughter died two days ago, that’s why he’s doing it. He wanted to save her from it and we took the money that would pay for her treatment. Andrew has been angry with me for a while and called me after Lena died.” A new voice sounded from behind them, strong and authoritative, yet they could all hear the pain laced into his words. “He has my sister and if you guys don’t get a move on, Andrew is going to kill them all.” Detective Daniel Reagan had made his way to the JOC, knowing he couldn’t make a move against O’Sullivan without the people of the FBI. You were his little sister and he’d be damned just sitting around at the precinct when he needed to get you to safety. More so when Erin would have his head for being the reason the former officer had you and your kids as hostages.

A million thoughts ran through OA’s head as he listened to Maggie’s words. It felt like his entire world was going in slow motion as he held his breathe. He could feel the panic that coursed through his veins. His gaze falling on (Y/n)’s resting body, trying to wrap his mind around it all.
“We’re still hunting him down but Jubal says you need to stay by her side.” OA knew that Jubal was right, he knew that there was too many conflicts of interest. That he could easily loose his cool if he was involved.
“Okay...okay.”
“We’re going to find this guy.” Maggie told him, in some way to reassure him. But he knew until they caught the guy and he was locked away, there was no way he could relax, much less be assured for the better.
Especially after the information Maggie began to give him, there had actually been two more shootings. One before Maggie gave him a call and another shortly after. Five more victims were added to the tally, all hit in the exact same place. All hospital workers. An organized crime with intended purposes and targets.
“As soon as anything else happens, I’ll let you know.”
“Thanks Maggie.”
Anytime.” They were partners, they had each other’s back. But even now, it was hard to help. “How is she doing?”
“She’s out of the woods now. But she hasn’t woken up yet.”
“She will. She’s gotten through the worse of it.”
“Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping for.” Sighing, OA ended the call, turning his attention back to (Y/n). He sat down next to her bed, holding her hand. The times he wished he could have done this very thing, almost too many to recount. “I love you (Y/n). I want to tell you face to face. I want to ask you on a date or do so much. So just open your eyes, alright?”
                                                 ----------------
She knew this sight well, a dreary atmosphere that settled over the waiting room. She could see the worried etched on their faces as they all try to cope with their loss. Trying to keep it all together, to not let the tears or any other emotions show.
“She’s in good hands.” (Y/n) said, breaking the silence as their eyes fell on her. Confusion turned to recognition, seeing she was the first to attend to Kristen as soon as she came rolling through the ER doors. (Y/n) started working fast, doing what she could with her skill set before calling the trauma specialist, one more skilled in such matters. Even despite her own capabilities, she wasn’t going to let pride or arrogance prevent them from saving a life. “Our best trauma specialist is operating on her now, the odds are in favor.”
“How can you be so sure?” OA asked, standing up to meet her. He towered over (Y/n) given the difference in their builds. Yet she didn’t cower or stand down. She looked him straight on, a small yet knowing smile on her lips.
“I know how good my colleagues are. But I’m saying this for reassurance, I know you all need some right now.” He could only guess how many scenes she seen like this. How many times she needed to break the news to friends and family.
He knew, she didn’t have to do this. To come out and personally meet them, to try and ease their worries. She probably had another case or had something better to do.
Yet (Y/n) made the time to do this. Just for them. He found it touching.
“Look, you’ll hear more soon. But you all at least should have heard this.” She gave them all a small smile, before beginning to walk away. Tossing OA a snack in the process. “Name is (Y/n) by the way. Keep your head high, cause I have high hopes your friend will be fine.”
As she walked away, her smile grew, thinking back to OA. He easily caught her eye without even speaking. Her eyes had landed on him from the moment she looked at them from the end of the hall. Wondering when would be the next time they could see one another.
Something that would be sooner than she realized. Unaware he happened to be thinking something similar.
Days passed when she went about her daily routine when she was greeted with a familiar face standing in the lobby. Looking a little lost to say the least.
“Oh, agent, what brings you here?”
“Looking for you actually.” Oa smirked a little, twisting the ring on his finger as he walked closer to her. “I just wanted to say thanks. Kristen turned out just fine like you said.”
“And why are you thanking me?”
“You didn’t have to come and talk to us. You didn’t have to do anything but your job.”
“It was nothing. I’ve seen enough people like you and your friends to know they need something. Even the smallest bit helps.”
“Thank you for doing that. It did help. And thanks for granola bar.”
“Anytime.” (Y/n) said, giving him a small smile. Before her pager went on, signaling her that she was needed elsewhere. “Well, that’s my call.”
“Could I take you to lunch?” OA asked, calming his nerves enough to blurt out the question. He wasn’t why he felt as nervous as he did. Nor why he was even at the hospital to begin with. He just knew he ended up here, talking with (Y/n) and now asking her to a meal. His heart beating loud against his chest as he awaited her answer.
“How about dinner tonight? I can go after my shift.”
“Sure...sure. That works.”
“Good, I’ll meet you here at 7 o’clock, tonight.” Her pager once again beeps. “Until then agent.”
With that, (Y/n) ran off to her job, OA watching her as her figure disappeared. Unable to shake the smile on his lips, wondering how or why she even agreed to begin with.
But it was something. It was something for sure.
                                                 ----------------
Something was wrong, he knew it even before he opened his eyes. Before he looked around the hospital room. His instincts were screaming at him, telling him to move fast, to get up and grab the closest thing near him. And hearing his ringtone stop and go again didn’t help much.
Yet before he could make a move, before he could answer his phone, he heard a gun cock followed by a voice.
“Don’t move or I’ll shoot you both.”

No Version.
Requested by Anon – Can u please do a fluffy imagine with jay and the reader is oa’s sister (not a cop). If you don’t want to do it as oa’s sister then you can do it with just the reader not being a cop. Thank you. Characters – Jay x Zidan! Reader, OA, Maggie and Hailey. Word Count – 935.
‘Where is she?’ You recognised his voice from anywhere, the concern filling it. ‘I’m right here OA, you don’t have to send a search party out.’ You commented, he rolled his eyes as he pulled you in for a hug. ‘I did that one time.’ He sighed. ‘And I won’t let it down, not yet at least.’ You teased him. ‘So I’m not complaining but why are you in Chicago?’ You asked looking up at him, remembering when you had been the same height for maybe a year before he shot up above you over night. ‘Maggie and I have been sent here to work with the local PD team.’ He said, your brows furrowed before you smiled. ‘Maggie’s here?’ You asked, he sighed and nodded before gesturing to his car. You looked around him, before she saw you and you both smiled widely and waved before you looked back to OA. ‘Didn’t you say that your boyfriend worked as a cop?’ OA asked, you nodded. ‘Yup, Jay Halstead, and he’s probably the one that you’ll be working with.’ You told him, he arched an eyebrow. ‘So I finally get to meet him?’ He questioned, you rolled your eyes. ‘You we’re going to meet him next month, stop being so dramatic.’ You warned him, then you watched as the handful of men walked into the hallway. ‘Look, be careful today but I have to go that my client and asshole lawyers.’ You grumbled, OA looked at him before nodding and pressing a kiss to the top of your head. ‘I’ll see you at dinner.’ He said, you nodded as you gathered the information and files you needed.
‘You okay?’ Maggie asked, you nodded as you looked at your boyfriend and brother sharing the same room. ‘Yeah, I know the consequences of what could happen.’ You told them, you then tilted your head to the side. ‘I don’t understand why both of them got hurt though?’ You questioned, turning to her as she smiled. ‘I believe that they were trying to show off to each other, or rather OA was trying to intimidate Jay.’ Maggie explained, footsteps walking closer to the pair of you. ‘Oh yeah, Jay was trying to be cocky and OA was trying to scare him as they were chasing a suspect.’ Hailey said, you closed your eyes and sighed. ‘They aren’t seriously injured?’ You asked, they were sitting on the bed facing each other, knees almost touching but they were upset with each other. ‘Physically, no, their egos definitely.’ Hailey sounded pleased, the three of your smiled before you cleared your throat. ‘I wonder if they’ll tell on each other?’ You asked before pushing away from Hailey and Maggie. Opening the sliding door you watched as they moved their eyes, but didn’t move anything. You shut the door, closing the busy ER out as you walked over to them, you slammed your fists into OA’s bicep and he grunted, before you turned to Jay and repeated the action. Both of them looked at you with wide eyes, holding their arms. ‘What the hell was that for?’ ‘You two are the only men I care about, and your trying to up one and another?’ You asked, their faces dropped, glancing at each other. ‘Do you guys knew the pain I went through when Maggie phoned me, telling me that both of you were in here?’ You asked them, they both shook their heads. ‘You haven’t even known each other for a day and I could seriously kill the pair of you.’ You informed them, watching as their shoulders sagged before your cleared your throat. ‘So I’m going to be the responsible adult.’ You stated, they both looked at you. ‘You,’ you pointed at jay, ‘are banned from sex with me for a week.’ You stated, jay’s jaw dropped and OA started to look smug. ‘And you,’ you pointed at your older brother, since you couldn’t use the same threat on him your had to think of something else, ‘you aren’t getting any more Lebannon maamouls for a month.’ Now it was time for OA’s jaw to drop. ‘Y/N.’ ‘No, in no version of my life do I see my brother and my boyfriend die in the same day. Ever.’ You finished before you turned and quickly walked out. ‘You looked you’ve just killed a puppy in front of them.’ Hailey stated, you looked at the woman before shrugging. ‘Took away what they both love.’ You commented, glancing at the time on the clock. ‘You up for a drink?’ You asked, Hailey and Maggie looked at each other before nodding. ‘What about them?’ Maggie questioned. ‘When they’ve grown up Jay knows where to find me.’ You informed them, before you made your way out the hospital, you and Hailey waving bye to Maggie, who quickly waved back before directing the incoming casualty.
‘Well look what the cat dragged in.’ Hailey stated, placing her drink down and leaning back in the seat. You and Maggie turned around, watching as OA and Jay made their way over to the table, when they stopped at the edge you looked at them. Jay carefully leaned forward and pressed a kiss to the side of your head. ‘Are you done being toddlers?’ You asked, Jay and OA looked at each other before nodding. ‘Good.’ ‘OA I’d like you to meet my boyfriend, Jay.’ You introduced them to each other. ‘Jay, this big idiot is my brother.’ You said, Jay and OA looked at each other again as you and Maggie slid m the booth to make space for them.

Beep-Beep-Beep-Beep
Tumblr media
That was the sound you opened your eyes to. Everything was blurry, and slightly dark. Though you opened them, your eyes felt heavy, painful so you closed them for a few seconds. You hoped to ease your discomfort but when you opened them again the pain remained. You fought through it and slowly looked around, beginning at your left. You saw wires, cords, and machines.
Again, you closed your eyes and opened them after a few moments. You then you took in the pale colored curtain and the smell of cleaning products. Everything smelled so sterile. You knew then you were in the hospital. Everything hazily flew around your head in incomplete flashes that felt like vanishing frozen picture frames. The more you tried to steady your thoughts the more your head felt like it was splitting apart. Groaning, you tried to sit up, but it was a big mistake. Your entire body felt sore as if you’d been hit by a mack truck.
 “Y/N.”
Glancing to your right, OA came into focus before he went right back out.
 “Ah!”
 “What’s wrong?”
 “My head—oh my god. Ah!”
 “Okay I’ll call a doctor. Don’t move.”
OA’s blurry figure scurried to the door then disappeared. His voice boomed down the hall calling for a doctor in his commanding tone. When he walked back toward your side a kind looking male doctor approached.
“Hi there, Special Agent Y-L-N, my name is Dr. Peters,” he began.
You groaned and angled your head backward looking at the ceiling all the whole scrunching your nose as the pain ricocheted across your forehead and to the back of your head and neck.
 “What’s going on?”
“My head it feels like it’s splitting in two.”
“Okay, look at me, let me take some of your vitals. Take slow steady breaths, Dr. Peters instructed in his calm, soothing practitioner voice.
He checked your pulse, placed the back of his hand against your forehead, listened to the sound of your heart with his stethoscope and shone the light from his ophthalmoscope into your pupils. Each glare of harsh light sent a spasm of pain to your brain. You flinched and shrank away from him.
“Okay, I’m sorry. Give me a little more time to look, bear with it,” he advised as he shined the light once more.
You gritted your teeth trying to hold it in. When you felt like you were going to shriek out, you felt OA’s warm hand encapsulate yours taking some of the anxiety and tension away. You squeezed his hand firmly using him as your focal point to direct all the pain you felt. Seconds later Dr. Peters sighed and turned off the light allowing you some relief. You dropped your head back onto the newly propped up pillows and held on to OA’s hand.
 “What’s wrong doc?”
You kept your eyes closed knowing that opening them would bring more pain and tried to also keep any panic that was beginning to rise at bay.
“Are you having any other symptoms besides this painful sensitivity to light, and your headache?”
“When I just opened them, they were blurry too. Also, I’m tired, my body feels heavy, it’s a little hard to get a full breath,” you listed off.
You felt the coolness of the stethoscope on your chest then heard a “hmm” from the doctor.
“Huh, I don’t like how fast your heart is beating. Does your chest hurt?”
 “A little.”
“What’s going on with her doctor?”
“When she was brought in we found an alarming and near deadly amount of some nasty drugs in her system. I’m actually surprised you’re still with us. I’ve seen overdoses of date rape drugs and it’s not pretty, but this mixture was eighty percent more potent than anything I’ve seen before. So, we singularly broke down the drugs we found and a lot of them counteract the other, but because of the amount in her system, the side effects will be magnified.”
“What does that mean? Am I okay?”
OA squeezed your hand, but it did nothing to calm you.
“We’re going to keep you for observation and testing for the next forty-eight hours at least. We’ll know a lot more once we get a look at some scans. In ten or so minutes I’ll send someone to take you for a head, chest and full body CT, an echo, an EKG, and a stress test. They’ll also draw blood so we can do a full work up to monitor how much is still in your system,” Dr. Peters explained.
 “She’ll be okay thought, right?”
This was the first time you’d heard OA sound so unsure.
“I know you’re looking for some verbal guarantee here and I wish I could give it, but I can’t. However, I can say the fact that she woke up so soon and is not in a coma is truly a miracle and a real beacon of hope right now. So, hold on to that,” Dr. Peters finished.
His bedside manner was on point, you thought. Everything he said should have panicked the shit out of you but the calmness and genuine hope in his voice did away with the majority of it. OA thanked him and you heard the sound of footsteps getting further away and knew he was walking him out. You heard something sliding and guessed he was closing curtains and your heard warmed. When you felt OA take your hand again you sighed.
“You’ll be okay,” he said gently rubbing the back of your hand. “Try not to worry. I’m here. I closed the curtains if you want to try to open your eyes see if it helps.”
You took a deep breath and prepped for the pain then slowly opened them. From the small slit you allowed you could barely make out his face, everything was blurry, but it didn’t hurt as excruciatingly as it had minutes ago. Forging ahead, you opened them a little more but that didn’t change the blurriness.
 “How is it?”
You reached your hand out to the blurry face and touched OA’s bearded jaw then sighed. “You’re blurry.”
His large hand rested atop yours on his jaw holding yours in place.
“Probably for the best, I’m not nearly as handsome today as I was three days ago.”
You snorted and giggled. “Oh yeah? Three days messed it all up?”
The back of OA’s hand softly caressed your cheek. “Of course. You are so good at making me worry about you. My god. I think I’ve aged ten years in the last few weeks. I have bags under my eyes, my beard is splotchy, dark circles. Don’t even get me started on my complexion.”
You smiled and grabbed the hand on your cheek and pressed your lips to his palm. “Gotta keep you on your toes, Zidan.”
OA’s lips grazed to your forehead and his powerful scent filled your nostrils forcing a small moan from you.
“I also can’t believe the first time I saw you in sexy lingerie was for a sting in front of all our coworkers,” OA teased.
“Was there another time you wanted to see me in sexy lingerie agent Zidan?”
“Is every day an acceptable answer?”
You giggled again and wrapped your arms around his trim waist and moaned again as his strong arms held you close.
“Hm, play your cards right and I think that request could definitely be approved and even raised a few notches,” you flirted back.
While you continued to wait for the nurses to come for you, OA filled you in on what the rest of the team was doing to close out the case and make arrests. He even told you how impressed Jubal and Isobel were with your actions and how you managed to keep control of the entire operation. Your feeling of accomplishment swelled and sitting here in the hospital seemed worth it for the ending result.
As the nurses wheeled you out of the room OA walked along with you despite your protests for him to get back to work. He refused and was adamant that he would not leave until you were leaving with him. It was touching, but you didn’t want his actions to pique anyone’s curiosity as to the true nature of your relationship. OA didn’t seem to care.
 “You’re my top priority.”
If you’d been alone you’d have stuck your tongue down his throat and your hand down his pants. It didn’t matter your injuries. Even OA joked that all you needed was forty-five minutes of undisturbed him time to make a full recovery. You made a mental note to try it out when you felt a little better.
The tests were endless. As soon as you finished one, you were moved to another and another and so on and so on. By the time you returned to your room several hours later, you were exhausted, and OA was right there waiting to rock you to sleep. With him beside you in the small hospital bed there was barely enough space for the two of you, but you didn’t mind. The warmth his body exuded accompanied with his scent was enough to relax you.
A few hours later the rumbling of your stomach was what woke you. Jerking to an upward position your eyes snapped open but all you saw were dark shadows. For a few seconds you didn’t know where you were but OA’s large hand on your back brought you back. Turning to face him slowly his features came into focus. Within a minute you could see all the beauty that he was blessed with. Relief and happiness filled you.
 “OA.”
With his free hand, OA rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand, “I’m here,” he said through a yawn that made him look even more adorable.
Your smile widened and you stretched your arm out to him, clasping his bearded chin.
 “You look exhausted.”
OA scoffed and nodded and spoke with a gentle smile, “I’m fine. I’m not going anywhere.”
Once the words were out, you saw the seconds that ticked away before he realized what you’d said. His smile slipped and was replaced with one of his serious, jaw clenches.
Tumblr media
“I look—can you see me?”
 You nodded.
 “You can see me?”
 “Yes, I can see you.”
Absolute joy flooded his face while relief filled his eyes. “Oh my god. Are you in pain?”
“No, no pain, just a slight burn but I’m good. I can see you,” you explained.
OA pulled you into his arms and squeezed nearly crushing you.
“Jeez! That’s amazing news. I’m so relieved.”
You could feel all the tension in his body melt away and it made you hold on tighter to him not wanting him to go anywhere—ever. Slowly the two of you pulled back and gazed into each other’s eyes. Everything else faded away leaving just the two of you in a white hazy cloud.
“I was so worried,” OA whispered.
You softly pressed your lips to his for a few moments. When you were about to pull back, OA sucked your bottom lip into his mouth and took over kissing you softly, sweetly, and lovingly. Every time his teeth grazed your lips it gave the impression the kiss would turn carnal, but it never did. Only OA could kiss you to forgetfulness. With your foreheads pressed together and eyes closed enjoying the aftereffects.
“You scared the shit out of me,” OA whispered.
 “I know.”
“This whole op was the worst. I don’t like not having your back.”
You opened your eyes and peered into his and softly kissed him. “I’m okay. It wasn’t anything huge,” you assured.
The door opened and the two of you quickly moved away from each other with OA leaping to his feet and both of you trying to act like you weren’t in an intimate bubble.
“I wouldn’t say this wasn’t anything huge,” said a man with almost red tinted hair and a goatee to match.
 “Dr. Peters,” OA said.
Understanding sparked in your brain. “Dr. Peters,” you began looking him in his eyes.
Dr. Peters angled his head from side to side as he took you in. “Ah, your sight has come back.”
 “Yes. Just now.”
“That’s great. I wasn’t worried it wouldn’t. As expected you just needed some time for the drugs to move out your system. I was coming in here to tell you that your tests and scans look good.”
“So I am the epitome of health,” you stretched.
“Ha, I wouldn’t go that far. While there is no damage, and no lingering medical effects I wouldn’t say you’re one hundred percent just yet. Matter of fact I want to keep you for the rest of the night and tomorrow.”
“Then you’ll sign off on my return?”
Dr. Peters glanced at OA who scoffed. “Welcome to my world,” OA joked.
“I have a job to get back to,” you justified.
“And we are all appreciative that there are agents like you,” Dr. Peters began with a smile. “Tell you what. Let’s reassess tomorrow afternoon to see where we are, and we’ll talk about me signing off.”
You sighed, slouched back, then crossed your arms. You weren’t happy. OA dropped beside you and dropped his arm around your shoulder pulling you against him. “Think of it as a mini vacation. No morning meetings, no perps, no chasing anyone down, and most importantly no eyes around.”
Your eyes met and you knew just what he meant. That was the only reason you broke a smile but even that was short lived.
 “Hello?”
The sound of Scola’s voice echoed in the room making OA leap back to his feet to step a few feet away from your bed. You glared at him just as three other faces came into view.
 “Oh, we’re interrupting,” Scola added.
“Not at all. We were done,” Dr. Peters informed as he rose from the seat that was beside the bed.
“Wonderful, doc, can I pick your brain outside?”
Dr. Peters nodded as he walked to the door with Scola leaving Kristen and Jubal there.
 “How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine,” you assured as Kristen sat and took your hand.
“The doc says she needs to rest and hopefully in a day or two she’ll be ready for discharge,” OA filled in.
“That’s great news,” Jubal began with a smile. “You had us all worried sick.”
 “Really worried,” Kristen echoed.
“I had to give her countless comforting hugs,” Jubal blurted out.
Your eyes and OA’s eyes landed on the two of them looking between them. Something was off. Taking a glance at OA you saw he thought so too. Jubal loudly cleared his throat then rubbed the back of his neck.
“Well good news, the case is closed. We were able to get them all and even a few politicians that were funding the whole cult.”
 “What!?”
“Yep, Nicholson, Albertson, Judges Carmichael and Lodgens and even the ex-district attorney’s assistant Franks,” Jubal listed off.
You didn’t know why you were so shocked. It was a given that where there was money and power there would be crooked immoral players. It always shocked you though how deep that corruption went.
“Damn, I wish I could have been there for those arrests,” you said.
“It’s all because of you. While this wasn’t the perfect op, you handled yourself well and brought us a major win. The mayor is even talking about medals.”
Groaning your rolled your eyes then sighed. Medals didn’t entice you in the least. You could do without them. “I was just doing my job.”
“We know, Y/N,” Kristen spoke as if to change the subject.
“OA, a word in the hall?”
Your guilty conscience had your danger radar going. Did Jubal know something? As OA and Jubal walked toward the door OA glanced back giving you a reassuring look before he walked out.
You reached over to the bedside table for the glass of water and took a timid sip. “Don’t worry, I don’t think he knows about you two,” Kristen said with a low voice.
A few droplets went down the wrong pipe and sent you in a coughing fit that went on for almost a full minute. It was a minute of valuable time you had to formulate your response and your last-ditch plan. The whole time you nor OA had come up with a backup plan in case you faced this situation.
 “Eh-em. What?”
Kristen didn’t look one bit fooled though. That made you panic more. “Uh—I—I don’t know what you’re—talking about.”
Kristen snorted then shook her head as she uncrossed and recrossed her legs. “Cat’s out the bag. Even if I wasn’t sure, that horrible performance just now was the dead giveaway.”
 “Kristen—you’re—you’re mistaken.”
“Come on Y/N. just admit it. there is no one else here.”
You assessed the situation and the woman sitting across from you trying to gauge the threat level. Since you’d joined the team you and Kristen were probably the closest. You’d spent time together off hours, she’d been to your place and you to hers. She didn’t know you well enough to know the ins and outs of your past relationships, but she knew about the failed ones. Nothing you’d ever told her had found its way out from between you. You’d deemed she was trustworthy early on.
 “Y/N.”
“Fuck!” you slapped your hand to your forehead and silently chastised yourself. You had no idea what your next move was. You didn’t know if you should pretend to pass out and wait until OA got back to brainstorm or just face it head on. After another sip of water, you decided to take the interrogator route.
“Eh-em,” you began taking one last deep breath before giving Kristen a steely concealed look. “What do you think you know?”
Kristen snorted then laughed. “Now I know I know it all. You and OA are dating.”
Your jaw dropped momentarily before you pulled yourself together and regained your composure. Before you could rebut, Kristen continued.
“What I don’t know is when exactly it started. This whole last year I could tell the two of you were getting closer and even that he had the biggest crush on you. I just don’t know when things turned. Tell me.”
“Cr—crush? Em, how could you—why do you say that?”
“It was so obvious. He hung off every word you said, brought you coffee every morning. When he tried to find out your favorite order I knew it was something more than trying to take care of your partner. It was adorable,” Kristen confessed.
You tried to keep a straight face with this new information. Hearing it from her gave you a little more insight. Things between you had been leading here for the last year. This wasn’t sudden and it definitely wasn’t about the sex.
 “So, since when?”
You sighed again and toyed with your fingers. “Not long,” you whispered.
“Was it after the bomb case? Oh my god his last words before that explosion--,” Kristen said with actual hearts in her eyes. “Heart melting. I know you don't need a hero; I just don't mind being one to you. Thanks for the taste of a little Florida sunshine,” Kristen recalled using the exact verbiage OA had. goosebumps peppered across your skin remembering the circumstances and the things you’d felt.
 “Was it then?”
“It’s hard to pinpoint when things changed exactly. One day I looked at him like my partner and the next he was my hot partner. I don’t know,” you half bluffed.
Kristen sat there with a googly eyed expression waiting for your to continue. When you didn’t speak, she leaned forward and whispered. “So how far have y'all gone?”
Your eyes bugged and it wasn’t because you were a prude, but because there was no way you were going to tell her all the things you and OA had done to each other.
“How far have you and Jubal gone?”
It was her turn to panic. Kristen’s eyes bugged so wide you were sure they were bigger than saucers. She didn’t speak for a long time, but you could tell she was cracking. After almost two minutes of silence and back and forth looks Kristen dropped her head to her lap.
“Oh my god! How did you know? I have been wanting to tell you about this since the day he kissed me in the weapon’s cage down at the shooting range.”
Your jaw dropped. “Kristen! Oh my god spill everything!”
She slid the chair closer and began spilling her guts. Every detail she revealed of their near two-month situationship had you more and more shocked. For one it was Jubal she was talking about. As your superior you saw one side of him but what she was divulging was a whole different side. The fact that it was Jubal who’d pulled her into the tight confines of the weapons cage after witnessing her shoot a perfect round to kiss her would have had your knees buckling. Part of you couldn’t see it but the other side could only imagine that was the beginning of Jubal unrestrained.
When Kristen had finished telling you about what was going on between them she sat there with a slightly panicked expression.
 “Why are you panicking?”
 “He’s Jubal, Y/N. He’s our—boss,” she said, ending on a whisper.
 “Yeah.”
“I don’t want to be known as that girl.”
By that girl she meant the girl who messed around with those above her for benefits. In this male centered career where women weren’t taken half as seriously as their male counterparts any smudge on one’s record could be seen as preferential treatment. You sighed fully understanding the predicament she found herself in.
“I mean. It hasn’t gotten too far where we can’t stop or one of us would have to transfer. Should we stop? there are so many things to consider. He has an ex-wife, kids, he’s our boss, the rules--.” Kristen shot up and began pacing the room. You almost laughed wondering if this was how you looked when you got like this.
“Calm down. How far have things gotten?”
“Kissing, like make out status, dates, cuddles, deep conversations, walks around the city, long phone calls where neither of us want to hang up. You know child’s play stuff. I mean neither of us have gone as far as to call this a relationship.”
“Do you want it to be one?”
Kristen dropped back into the seat and released a breath. “I like him a lot,” she confessed.
You nodded and thought of your feelings for OA. You again understood.
“I am probably the worst person to ask for advise from.”
“No I think you’re the best. I didn’t figure anything out from you, it was all from watching OA. You’re like a safe, completely uncrackable. What’s your thought process doing this with him?”
You almost laughed, not from humor but from hearing how she described you. It almost sounded like she was calling you emotionless. After thinking about it for a few moments you shrugged. “I honestly I am you. I panic a lot and go in circles thinking about the consequences while OA is the one who is all fuck it,” you confided.
“Easy for him to say that. He’s the man. If this gets found out by the higher ups it’s a pat on the back and respect but for you, me—us, it’s demotion, transfer and written in your file forever,” Kristen voiced.
It was everything you’d thought about since the night OA confessed how he felt. You both sat there speechless and completely lost in your own situations. It wasn’t until OA, Jubal and Scola returned that the two snapped out of it and plastered on unreadable expressions. Halfway through the chat the group of you were having Jubal picked up a call from Isobel requesting they all return to base for a potential kidnapping case. With that, OA reluctantly left with them leaving you alone with the thoughts and worried Kristen had dredged up.
MSG OA: I’ll be back at your side as soon as we wrap this case and at that time I’m promising you a full body massage.
You smiled and shook your head.
MSG: Keep your head in the game and off of my body. Be careful. Stay safe.
MSG OA: Always. I have the best thing to live for. You.

-Two Days Later-
Tumblr media
You hadn’t seen OA in two days. It was new but it wasn’t unexpected. Usually when there was an active case especially one as serious as a kidnapping it was all hands on deck because the first forty-eight hours were crucial in finding the victim unharmed and making an arrest. Though you hadn’t seen him physically, he’d checked in several times through text and quick phone calls that always came in at odd hours. You lived the life and found it made you more understanding so it didn’t annoy you when you got a call at 3am, or a text at 1am.
As he battled the bad guys out there, you battled your own internal bad guys—your wavering conviction. You often thought about your conversation with Kristen and the predicament you found yourself in and the possible consequences. It would make a lot more sense to end things as Kristen had contemplated for herself. If you ended things you would remain partners and wouldn’t be breaking any rules. Things could stay the same and both your careers could remain on track. No one would be taking one for the other.
Whenever you thought of things that way your heart hurt. While it was a rational possibility and it probably made logical sense, it didn’t make emotional sense. In such a short time you’d grown accustomed to being with OA. It went past sex. It only took the last two days to realize that. You didn’t miss his body or his kiss, you missed him. You missed how easy it was to talk to him, you missed your conversations. You missed sharing breakfast and even the small things like the glances you always shared, the inside jokes. The nuances of your relationship you’d developed and fine-tuned over the last fourteen months. When you thought of those things, those elements you wavered and doubted you could end things.
You asked yourself several times which one you wanted more, him or your career and the answer was always both. You didn’t want him at the cost of your career, and you didn’t want your career at the cost of him. You knew plenty of people who’d chosen accomplishments over love and were now miserable. You didn’t want to be one of them. you also didn’t want anything to change. You were the actual definition of wanting to have your cake and eat it too. Not seeing him everyday didn’t sit well with you and that would be your only option. One of you would have to go to Albany or Buffalo.
By the time the day came for you to return to work you’d twisted yourself up into knots about it yet again. You knew Kristen wouldn’t tell anyone but if it was so easy for her to connect the dots it would be a matter of time before anyone else did like Isobel. The longer you were together and the more you felt for each other the easier it would be for others to tell. You’d been putting off telling OA that Kristen knew because it meant you had to have thee conversation where things would get real. You knew decision would have to be made. You knew what you were afraid of. You were scared this was a phase for him and there were no real tangible feelings. You worried while you were in love he wasn’t.
After you made it to the coffee shop to pick up yours, OA’s, Kristen’s and Scola’s favorite orders you found yourself on the elevator on your way up to the floor trying to overcome an internal panic attack. The whole ride up you kept telling yourself that it wasn’t a big deal it was just one person who knew and that was where it would stay. By the time the elevator stopped on the twenty-third, and you stepped off you’d found your composure and your steely exterior betrayed nothing.
You walked through the long hall then onto the floor of the JOC. Once you stepped inside you noticed that the floor was empty which was odd. At your desk you put your things away and shot OA a quick message asking where everyone was. After thirty seconds you still hadn’t gotten a reply, so you messaged Kristen. Her response was almost instantaneous.
MSG Kristen: Press room. Some big news announcement.
Making your way to the press room with the coffee orders in hand you began wondering what announcement it could be and hoped it had nothing to do with you. When you walked inside your eyes quickly found Kristen who was standing with Scola. As you approached you handed Kristen and Scola their coffee grateful you’d thought to pick one up for Scola.
Tumblr media
“Thanks Y/N didn’t think I matter that much to you,” he teased.
 “Of course you do.”
You smiled and looked around for OA.
 “Where’s OA? I have his.”
After a quick sip Kristen pointed across the room. “He’s there talking to Isobel and Jubal.”
Looking where she pointed you nodded and seconds later OA’s eyes met yours and his smile shone bright. It wasn’t a special smile, but it made your heart flutter, and you smile right back. You almost kicked yourself. When Isobel walked away from him you saw him make a move to walk across but was cut off but a few others. When he made a second attempt Isobel spoke up in front of everyone and that was the end of his attempts.
“Thank you everyone for making it. I know it is never ideal to have all of us together in one place so I’m going to make this quick. We’re always on the lookout for exceptional agents to join our team and when we find them we hold on to them. We’ve been looking to add another team of two agents to assist with our ever-growing caseload and I’m happy to say we’ve found two agents who will fit right in with our face paced environment.”
You looked at Kristen who looked just as confused as you. You knew the search was always on for talent but didn’t know Isobel and Jubal had any slots open since Scola came onboard to partner with Kristen.
“I wonder who’s been picked,” Scola voiced.
“Without further ado let’s introduce our two new agents at 26 Fed, agent Hiro Dae and Agent Aziza Ali,” Jubal announced just before two people walked inside to stand beside him and Isobel. There they stood with everyone applauding and welcoming them.
“You may have seen Hiro and Aziza around the last day or two as they’ve been brought up to speed on procedure and whatnot but today is officially their first day. Welcome Agent Ali and Agent Dae. All right everyone get back to work and saving lives.”
The crowd began fanning out, making it more difficult to get a good look of your new coworkers. Instead of breaking your neck you followed Kristen and Scola out and back to the floor of the JOC. A few minutes later Jubal walked out with the new additions on either side of him. Recognition sparked in your head. You’d seen her before. Taking a few moments to try to figure out where you’d seen her before you stood there until it came to you. she was the other undercover agent with you on the last op.
“Y/N. Welcome back,” Jubal voiced coming over to pat you on the shoulder. “Glad to have you back.”
 “Glad to be back.”
The woman standing there smiled warmly at you. “Hi again.”
Tumblr media
“I know you right?”
She giggled a little and nodded. “Great work with that operation. You handled it well,” she complimented.
“Thanks, you too. Thank you for your help.”
OA approached them and stood beside you.”
“Everyone, officially welcome Hiro Dae and Aziza Ali to the team. They’ll be working with us and going out on cases with you. Hiro, Aziza let me introduce you to, Kristen Chazal, Stuart Scola, Y-F-N & L-N, and OA Zidan.”
Everyone took a few moments to shake hands and greet one another and when OA went to shake the hand of Aziza you noticed the hesitation.
“Agent Ali comes to us from Human and Sex Trafficking, she was the other agent with you Y/N on that last op and Agent Dae comes to us from organized crime,: Jubal explained.
“Looking forward to working with all of you,” Hiro said with a smile that showed drool worthy dimples.
Tumblr media
“Same here,” Aziza added. “OA is it? Is that what it says on your birth certificate or does that stand for something?”
You looked at him, but his expression gave nothing away, not even friendliness. “It stands for something but don’t worry about it. Everyone here calls me OA,” he explained.
 “Everyone?”
The confrontational air the two of them gave off had you and Kristen exchanging quizzical looks. As if sensing the shift in the air, Jubal cleared his throat.
“All right get settled and ready to move,” Jubal ordered making everyone walk off to their respective desks. You took up OA’s coffee and walked over to his desk and handed it to him.
 “Have you slept?”
OA spun halfway as you leaned at the side of his desk crossing your legs. You watched him give your legs the once over and you gave him a slight head shake.
“What if I said I hadn’t would you put me to bed?”
You smiled and shook your head. “That’s what the coffee is for.”
“You look refreshed,” OA announced before he took a sip.
“Guess a few days off is all I needed.”
“If only I could get what I need,” OA said under his breath, but you caught it.
 “And what do you need?”
Your eyes met and lingered and with each passing second your heart raced. His effect was almost annoying. Your phone in your pocket went off and when you brought it to your face, you saw OA’s message.
MSG OA: You. I just want to sleep on your stomach.
The butterflies in your stomach took flight.
 MSG: Conference 2 in 5.
You pushed off his desk and went to yours to pretend like you were getting ready to work as OA walked off. While you pretended to work it only invited others to actually give you work. Five minutes later you were still wrapped in the file that Scola handed to you. It took you five extra minutes to close it and get up to get to him. as you approached the conference room that was all the way across headquarters you tried to stuff down your excitement and eagerness to be back in his arms.
Just when you were about to grab the door handles you heard muffled voices that made you hesitate. Pressing your back to the wall you approached the crack of the door and moved your ear closer trying to hear better. Still the voices were muffled, only when you made it close to the opening of the door could you hear clearly. It sounded like OA.
“We had a deal Aziza. Since you were so hellbent on choosing this office knowing full well I was here you’re supposed to stay away from me accepting we had no ties or connections.”
Your interest piqued. It was him and the new agent Aziza, the one you encountered on the operation. They knew each other. The realization made you a chill run down your spine and a bad taste fill your mouth.
“Come on OA don’t be like that. This is a career we’re supposed to embrace the connections we have.”
“I don’t want to embrace anything with you especially when you still refuse to give me a real answer as to why this office. You had your pick of any in the country.”
 “Does it matter?”
“No. it doesn’t change anything. We have no ties. You’re just my coworker now, just like all the others out there.”
“All of them are just your coworkers, Omar?”
Your heart stopped. She’d called him by his real name, his intimate name. You thought back to what he’d told you about only his family and those he was close to being able to call him that. A plethora of possibilities flooded your head and the more possibilities that came up the more the security of the ground you stood on felt unstable.
“Who are you kidding, Omar? I could smell you on her skin and in between her legs on that op.”
Your stomach fell and your mind raced.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t call me that ever again as I said, we have no ties between us.”
You heard footsteps coming closer to the door and instead of standing there you rushed back down the hall and back to your desk all the while wracking your brain over everything you’d just heard.

24. potted plant
“Maybe a potted plant in that corner?”
You and Officer Omar Zidan are doing the final walkthrough of your staged home. An interior designer, plus other agents did the heavy lifting, stashing microphones and microscopic cameras in clever places, but something is missing.
“What do you think?” You frown, turning to Omar.
Always the gentleman, he shrugs, sports a reassuring smile. “I think whatever Mrs. Hadid wants, she gets.”
You crack a smile.
“Best husband ever.”
The words give you both pause. You’re playing a dangerous game, being undercover, especially with lingering attraction.
Hopefully, you’re not under for too long.

From the Big Apple to the Windy City - Chapter Three
Chapter One Chapter Two
Tumblr media
"Two killers? Now you've lost me," Adam admitted.
"Right, uh, stay with me for a moment. Earlier, when Kevin and I were talking with Roger, the CSI, he pointed out that there were ligature marks around both Loreen and Tori's wrists. The first and only other girl to be killed in Chicago, Beverly Reynolds, also had those marks on her, along with every single girl killed in New York except for one," I explain.
"Dana Patricks," OA murmured.
"Exactly," I agree. "Dana Patricks is the only girl to not fit our pattern to a T."
"She had strangulation marks," Hailey recalled.
"Right. None of our other victims had that," I confirm. "In the FBI, we analyze different weapons and causes of death because they reveal a lot about our offender. Strangulation, especially manually, is very personal. That's why I think Dana Patricks was killed by her boyfriend, Casey Keys. It's a stretch, I know, but think about it. If Casey heard about Anna Garcia's murder, he could have tried to copy it and blame her death on the real killer. We never released that the killer bounded the hands and feet of his victims, which explains why Dana didn't have the ligature marks. Because Casey didn't know about it."
"I like where you're going Y/N, I do," Voight admitted. "But we have no evidence to prove that."
"Except maybe we do," OA cut in. "The M.E. up in New York found Casey's DNA on Dana, but because the two were together, no one thought anything of it."
"But Dana's parents mentioned that she hadn't seen Casey in a few days," I bring up. "They said they were going through a rough patch. Whenever I'm upset or angry or whatever, I like to take a long shower, and if Dana did that, any previous contact with Keys would have been washed off."
"So how did the new DNA get there?" Jay quizzed.
"And that's the case we'd make to get a warrant for Casey Keys' arrest," I claim. "I can call Agent Castile and get her to write up the papers. After that, all we'd need is a judge's signature, which would be easily obtained with the evidence, and Keys would be put into custody."
"You, Y/N, are amazing," Kim expressed.
"Wait a minute," Kevin interjected. "Getting Keys is a huge step, but we still don't have any leads on our real killer."
"Atwater's right," Voight announced. "Upton and Zidan, put a call out to your office in New York and get them started on the warrant for Keys. The rest of you, keep digging into the victims from both New York and Chicago. Something's gotta point us to our offender, and we're gonna find it."
............................................
"Hey," Hailey greeted as the two of us ran into each other in the small hallway leading from the wire room to the bullpen. "You guys contact your office back in New York?"
I nodded. "Yep. As we speak, Casey Keys is being arrested for the murder of Dana Patricks. Now all we've gotta do is nail the prick responsible for the rest of the killings."
"Easy peasy, right?" Hailey joked.
"Yeah. Easy peasy," I repeat and look down at the file folder in my hands. The file folder that contained the crime scene pictures of all of the bodies that had been found, both in New York and Chicago. All I could think about was the pain and suffering the girls had been through being beaten, bodies littered with cuts and bruises, even a few broken bones.
"You okay?" Hailey asked.
"I was just thinking about all of these girls," I murmur. "About what they've been through. And I just can't help but think that I could've saved them. Some of them, anyways. But the ghosts from my past, our past, got in the way. I didn't put my best foot forward because I was knee deep in memories that I haven't thought about in years. Being in Chicago hasn't made things any better either. If anything, it's made things 100 times worse."
"Hey. Listen to me," Hailey instructed. "You are not to blame for any of these murders. This guy is just good. You said it yourself, there hasn't been evidence at any of the crime scenes or footage of the offender with any of the girls. And since the kills are random, there's no connection between any of the victims. You and OA and your team up in New York did everything you could to catch this bastard. It doesn't matter that he got away. What matters is that you're here with us now, and we're gonna catch this son of a bitch."
"Thanks, Hails," I breathe out. "I needed that. But there's still one thing I don't understand. How are you still here in Chicago? Don't get me wrong, I do miss it sometimes, but after everything that's happened, I thought you'd have left like I did."
"Part of me did think about leaving," Hailey disclosed. "I thought that it'd be nice to go some place new and start fresh. But there are more than just bad memories here, Y/N. There are good ones too. Going to Gino's East after late nights out with you and our brothers. Hanging out at the Water Wall on hot afternoons. Walking around downtown when there was absolutely nothing to do on the weekends. Plus, mom and dad are still here. Even after everything we've been through, they're still our family."
"It's been 5 years since I've spoken to dad," I share. "I try to talk to mom at least once a week, but dad...I can't reach out to him. I just can't. Not after what he's done."
"Sorry to interrupt," Kim spoke and hovered at the entrance to the bullpen. "But I think we may have found something."
"OA!" I shout down the hallway. "We're needed in the bullpen." A few seconds later, OA emerged from the wire room and followed us into the bullpen. When we got there, Kevin was leading Adam and Jay out of the break room, and Voight was just exiting his office.
"All right, so Kev and I were going through all of our victims' last knowns, trying to figure out if we could create a timeline for their deaths," Kim informed us. "And as I was looking through some camera footage around the diner Tori Hughes worked at, I found this. Take a look."
My eyes were drawn towards Kim's computer screen as everyone gathered around her desk, and together we all watched the scene unfold. The camera, positioned on the entrance to the pawn shop next door, showed Tori leaving the diner with a younger man, whom she was draped all over.
"Were you able to follow them?" Adam questioned.
"Yep," Kim replied. "The camera never gets a clear shot of their faces, but I was able to get the license plate number of the car they got into. Problem is, the car was stolen last week, just around the time the murders started."
"Did you follow them on the traffic cameras?" I implore.
"As a matter of fact, I did," Kim responded. "Pods show them heading east to a motel on Southfield Rd."
"Maybe the receptionist or a janitor saw them," I suggest. "There could also be cameras there as well. OA and I can swing by and check things out."
"All right," Voight approved. "The rest of us will try to see if we can find a clearer image of this guys face. Then we can run it through facial rec and get a name."
...........................................
"Excuse me, do you run this establishment?" I ask the middle aged woman sitting at the small desk at the front of the entrance to the motel.
"Why yes, I do. Marge Haywood," the woman introduced.
"Agents Upton and Zidan," OA returned and pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket which showed the shot we took of Tori and our offender exiting the diner. "We were wondering if you recognize these two people."
Marge took the photo from OA's hands and examined it closely. "As a matter of fact, I remember these two coming in last night. Room 106, if I remember correctly."
"Chances are he signed in with a fake name," I tell OA before turning back to Marge. "Any chance you have security cameras?"
"We do. Just got 'em installed," Marge answered. "I can pull them up for you if you'd like."
"Please," OA said.
So Marge pulled up the footage, and we skipped to the night both Tori and Loreen were murdered. And what do you know, we got the scumbag on film. The cameras were so well hidden that anyone passing by wouldn't spare them a second glance. The footage showed our offender carrying Tori, who was bound and tied, before shoving her into the trunk of the car he had stolen. And that's when a miracle happened. The offender turned right towards the light post, giving the camera a solid look at his face. Solid enough for facial rec. I snapped a picture of the computer screen and shoved my phone into my pocket, turning to Marge as I did.
"Thank you so much, ma'am. You might have just helped us catch this guy," I claim. Back at the district, I ran up the steps two at a time to get towards the bullpen as quickly as possible. OA was right behind me, and the two of us took the last step seconds apart. "Tell me you got him."
"We ran the picture you sent through facial rec and we got a hit," Adam revealed. "Meet Travis Benton. 20 years old, has a decent rap sheet. A few pickups for possession and a DUI. Get this, Travis' father was arrested when he was a boy for domestic violence and spent 5 years in the Lincoln Correctional Facility. Him and his mother were hospitalized a few times because of they're injuries."
"Like father like son," I mutter. "We have any leads on him?"
"Travis' cousin owns a house up in Lincoln Park," Jay declared. "A few years ago Travis came down when things were really bad for him and his mom up in New York."
"And Lincoln Park just so happens to be where our last two victims were found," Kevin brought up.
"Offenders usually stay close to what they know. It's the first rule in geographic profiling," I state. "So we've got him. This is our guy."
"We've got him," Hailey confirmed and sent a smile in my direction.
"All right, suit up," Voight ordered. "We're going to that house, and we're going in heavy."
At Travis' cousin's house, the stolen vehicle was nowhere to be found. So, we all sat around in our cars and waited. OA and I were sitting in the SUV, air blasting, no words being exchanged between the two of us. We should've had a lot to talk about, seeing as we had basically caught our guy, but neither of us talked. Just then, the stolen car turned down the street, and when it got to our address, it stopped right in front, but no one got out of the car.
"Shit," I curse quietly. "I think we've been made." Seconds later, Travis sped off down the street and took a sharp right, escaping our vision. OA stepped on the gas and followed him, weaving in and out of traffic to catch him.
"Anybody got eyes?" Kim quizzed over the radio.
"OA and I are in pursuit," I answer. "He's going south on Damen towards the abandoned warehouses." Travis swerved to the left, and OA did the same, barely missing a car that was coming our way. "OA, it'd be nice if you didn't kill us today."
"I'm trying my best," OA defended. Travis then turned into an abandoned lot and ditched his car, heading into the deserted factory. OA slammed to a stop, and I hopped out of the car, pulling my gun from its' holster. Together, we entered the factory where we came to a T intersection. "You go left, I'll go right."
I nodded and went down the left hallway, taking a peak around the corner to see what was ahead of me. I walked down a few hallways, not spotting anything, but when I got to an open space towards the back of the warehouse, I saw our offender.
"Travis Benton! FBI! Put your hands up!" I shout. Travis stopped in his tracks and turned to face me, raising his gun to his head.
"I'll do it," Travis told me. "I'll end it right here."
"Travis, you don't want to do that," I reason. "Just put down the gun and come with me. We can sort all of this out."
"You know what he did, right? My father?" Travis asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, Travis. I know what he did to you and your mom."
"I always told myself I never wanted to be like him. But then when I saw Anna Garcia, I couldn't help myself. I wanted to see what it would feel like to kick the crap out of her. To be on the other side of the beatings. And you know, it felt amazing," Travis confessed. "I guess I really am my father's son. It's in my blood.
"Can I tell you something, Travis? My father was just like yours. He drank and drank and always took it out on my mom, my siblings, and I. He gave me this," I share and holster my gun, taking a step forward before pushing up my sleeve to reveal the long scar spanning the length of my upper arm. "My dad kicked me so hard once that he practically shattered my humerus. I almost couldn't become an FBI Agent because of it. But here I am, putting away people just like him. You don't have to be like him, Travis. You can make your own choice."
"I already made my choice. Look what I did to those girls. I didn't just think coming to Chicago would help me evade capture. I thought it would make me normal like before. But again, I couldn't help myself. It's in my nature to be violent," Travis claimed and turned his gun so that it was pointed towards me. "And I'm sorry, but I'm not going to prison."
That's when a few gunshots rang out, and suddenly, I was on the floor with a burning pain arising from my chest. I groaned and sat up, opening my jacket to expose my bullet proof vest. A single bullet from Travis' gun had been embedded in the kevlar. But that was odd because I heard multiple shots. However, when I looked up, I saw that OA was standing over Travis' body, gun aimed down at him. I guess OA had fired off a few shots as well.
"You okay?" OA questioned.
"Yeah," I reply. "I think so. Is he....?"
"Dead?" OA finished for me. "Yeah. Lets get you to an ambulance. You should get checked out just in case."
Minutes later, as I was being checked out by the paramedics, who confirmed that I would just have a large bruise for a week or two, the rest of Intelligence arrived, and of course, being my big sister and all, Hailey had worry plastered all over her face when she approached me.
"What happened? Are you okay? Where's Travis?" Hailey rushed out.
"Travis shot me, I'm fine, and he's dead," I list off the answers to Hailey's question. "I found him in the warehouse, and I thought telling him about what dad did to me would get him to stop and surrender. He did quite the opposite though."
"I know it's not how you wanted things to end, but we caught the guy responsible for all of the girls' deaths. That's a win in my book," Hailey disclosed.
I sighed. "I know. I just thought I'd feel different. Better, I guess."
"So I know you and OA have to get back to New York tomorrow, but what would you say to going out tonight with me and the rest of my team? There's this bar called Molly's that's frequented by cops, firefighters, and doctors. It'll be a good time. Promise," Hailey pledged.
I smiled. "I'd quite like that. I'll be sure to tell OA. We'll meet you guys there."
That night, OA and I met up with the rest of Intelligence at Molly's, and I could see why they liked it there. The bar's atmosphere was incredible. With a beer in my hand, I made my way over to the back table where everyone was waiting.
"There she is. The woman of the hour," Jay spoke. "How's it feel, knowing down that you finally caught the guy?"
"Not as good as I'd hoped, but I'm glad he's off the streets," I admit. "And uh, I'm sorry if I was a little snappy this week. This case, it just brought up a lot of things I wanted to forget."
"It's okay," Kevin reassured me. "We get it. Everyone's got things they don't want to talk about."
"Yeah. You're good," Kim consoled me.
"Before we get this party started, I need to talk to you," I say to OA. "Could we go outside for a minute?"
"Sure," OA replied. The two of us exited the bar together, and we walked off to the side to discuss something I had been wanting to the past day.
"I'm sorry," I apologize. "This whole case all you were trying to do was help, but I wouldn't let you. Instead I pushed you away, and that's not what partners should so. I know you were just trying to help, so from now on, I'll let you."
"So when I see you struggling to open your desk drawer back at the bureau, I'm allowed to help?" OA implored jokingly.
I laughed. "Sure. You can even help with that. I don't know why I haven't had that fixed. It's been sticking for ages."
"Well, maybe it just needs my magic touch," OA figured and took a step closer to me.
"Yeah?" I ask and smile up at him. "And what's that magic touch feel like?"
"I can show you," OA offered. And with that, he leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling my partner down towards me to get closer to him. OA's arms inched around my waist, and soon, we were chest to chest. After a few seconds, the two of us pulled away, out of breath. "I've been wanting to do that for a while."
"Me too," I agree. "But do me a favor. Lets not tell Hailey about this. Or Jay. Or the rest of Intelligence and the FBI, for that matter. I'd kind of like to take things slow and not have to worry about what everyone else thinks."
"I can get down with that," OA concurred. "We should get back inside. The others are probably wondering where we are."
"You're right. And it's getting a bit chilly out here too," I add. "No wonder it's called the Windy City."
OA laughed. "That's not why it's called the Windy City."
"I know. I grew up here, remember? It makes sense though," I reveal. "What doesn't make sense is why New York's called the Big Apple."
"As a New York native, I can tell you," OA professed. "But that's a story for another time. For now, lets just get back inside. And then, tomorrow, we can head back home to the Big Apple."
"Okay, it's unfair of you to use that nickname when I have no idea what it means," I scold lightly as OA held the bar door open for me.
"I know, but I'm gonna do it anyways. I'm your partner, so I'm allowed," OA exclaimed.
"Yeah yeah yeah," I mutter. "Whatever. Lets just get back inside so that others don't suspect something's up between us."
"Right, cause we would never let that happen, right?" OA posed jokingly. "But I agree. Lets go."
So together, the two of us headed back inside to join the others, who had no idea we had just shared a kiss. But knowing how Hailey was, she'd share it with Intelligence as soon as she found out. Then again, I didn't care. And tomorrow morning, I'd be on a plane back to New York with my partner, who would hopefully be something more soon enough. And it was all because of a case that brought us to Chicago, where my past only seemed to get in the way. So I guess Chicago did have some good memories. Because as of now, I'll always remember it as the place where OA Zidan and I shared our first kiss.
THE END

"I dream of this life, with you" ❤️
Tumblr media
It’s on a lazy Sunday morning in bed that Omar realises he wants to take the next step in your relationship. You’re cuddled up into his side, your thumb lightly tracing circles across his abdomen. His lips brush over your forehead and you make that sweet little noise, the one he knows means you’re happy, content.
“Do you ever think you’d wanna make this permanent?” He says softly, his fingertips tracing languid patterns across your shoulders. “Getting a bigger place together somewhere in Queens or Brooklyn.”
“Queens is closer to your mom.” You murmur, your lips brushing over the hollow of his throat.
“That’s why I was thinking Brooklyn.” He says half seriously.
He hasn’t spoken to her since the last time the two of you went over there, you’d tried to broker the peace, it’s your way but he still can’t forgive her for what she’d done, what she’d tried to do.
He’d gone to the bathroom to wash his hands and come back to find you excusing yourself due to a ‘work emergency’. He had known you weren’t on call that night, and if that wasn’t a sign that his mother had done something, the watery eyes and your tense shoulders would have been a giveaway. He’d offered to give you a ride, but you already had an Uber pulling up outside.
It hadn’t taken long to get the story out of his mother. She wasn’t ashamed of what she did, in her eyes she’s simply looking out for her son.
“I told her the truth.” She says as she sets the table. “If she can’t bare your children she needs to let you go. She’s a lovely girl Habibi, but she’s not for you, she’s not someone you can build a future with.”
He’d walked out then because what his mother had done, it was beyond cruel. He had told her your history in confidence as a way to circumvent the inevitable grandchildren conversation and she had thrown it in your face.
It was the next day you had tried to end things with him.
“She’s right.” You say quietly as you play with the sleeves of your white sweater. “You deserve someone who can give you a family and I… I can’t do that.”
“Hanna, I don’t need that.” He had told you, his hands reaching out across the table for yours. “If it’s something we decide we want in the future we can explore our options, fostering, adoption, surrogacy, a family doesn’t have to look the way my mother thinks it should.”
“Omar…” You begin but the look in his eyes makes you trail off because there’s such earnestness in them. He means what he says, starting a family doesn’t have to mean getting pregnant, so long as he’s with you he doesn’t care how it happens.
“You are enough for me.” He tells you, his thumb chasing over your ring finger. “What we have right now, that’s enough for me.”
Your voice draws him out of the memory, you’ve propped your head up on the pillow so that you can read the expression on his face.
“How about I go make us some coffee?” You suggest, your lips brushing over his bare shoulder. “And you can start looking up listings on your laptop.”
His entire face lights up as it dawns on him that you’ve just answered his question.
“Are you saying that you want to move in together?” He murmurs, his hands threading through your hair as he draws you close.
“Were you serious?” You ask him as his forehead comes to rest upon yours. “About what the future looks like for us?”
“You know I am.” He tells you, his thumb tracing over the apple of your cheek. “Any future I have, I want it to be with you.”

I’ll Leave a Light on for you
Tumblr media
OA Zidan X Reader
So this is going to be after the reader is trapped in the glass and OA is visiting her in the Hospital ! I Hope everyone enjoys this.
A/N: If you like my work please comment like and reblog it means a lot to see interactions on my work
OA’s POV
Looking down at Y/N she was laid out all across the ground. Her face was ghost white and her eyes were closed.
She looked so peaceful like she was sleeping. But me on the other hand. I was shaking and my heart was racing and I was a mess.
I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. Everything in my body was on fire but I didn’t care about me only her.
At this point the only reason I haven’t passed out was because of my adrenaline.
“Come on Y/N it’s going to be okay help is on the way. Keep fighting okay I know how strong you are okay” I said in a pleading voice.
I held her hand and just squeezed it . The sirens were getting louder and closer and I just kept saying a prayer in my head.
Finally after what seemed like hours but really wasn’t the paramedics came and they hurried up and whisked her away.
When I saw them take her away my body finally caught up. I just remember going down and everything went black.
I wasn’t sure how long I was down or what had happened. Because when I finally came to I hear beeping noises and nothing else really. I slowly opened up my eyes and was saw I was in a hospital room.
I was alone in here not sure what was going on.
I felt like shit. My body , hurt my head hurt. And I felt like someone had run me over with a damn bus. But if I’m being honest I didn’t care about any of that though.
I just kept replaying that scene in my head over and over. Wondering if there was anything different that I could have done.
I kept thinking it should have been me in there.  She didn’t deserve this.
Seeing how scared she was. The panic in her voice and on her face. It’s burned in my brain. The ache and pain I felt in that moment. I never felt so powerless before.
“Hey Y/N look at me it’s going to be okay your going to be fine. I love you okay I love you it’s going to be okay” I told her the worry in my voice wasn’t even hiding.
She just looked at me with a face that was hard to read. I could see the tears fall down her face. All I could think about was why wasn’t it me. She didn’t deserve this happening to her.
Working with sarin gas I knew how it deadly it was. And even if she did wake up what would her life be like after?
I was only exposed for just a few moment and I haven’t feel this bad ever.
I kept glancing up at the door. Hoping someone would come in. WIth some kind of news.
But at the same time I didn’t want them to. Because if it was bad news I could at least sit here and have hope. Right now hope is the only thing I had.
So many emotions were just crowding my head right now. I just kept thinking of all the things I should have said to her. So many missed opportunities to tell her I love her.
To tell her that she was not only my best friend but the absolute love of my life.  I spent so much time overseas and then coming home and working undercover. I never felt like I fit in or belonged.
Then when I meant her it felt like I was home. That for the first time someone saw me for me and I belonged somewhere.
We always had late night talks where she actually listened.
We would spend all of our free time out of work together. Going to dinner and watching movies. She would make me go to the mall with her and hold all of her bags.
No matter how much time we spent together i never got tired of being with her. I had so many chances to tell her how i felt.
I think I was just scared of loosing her. Scared she didn’t feel the same way.
Scared that I would loose the important person in my life.
I didn’t realize the tears were falling down my face until i saw the wet spots falling on my blanket that was on me.
I quickly wiped them away. Hoping no one would saw.
Then after a few minutes later I heard a small knock on the door. I could feel my heart stop beating. My chest clench up and the panic set in.
I looked up and saw Jubal coming with a worried look all over his face. He slowly walked over to me and grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze.
I looked up and gave him a sad smile.
“Your going to be okay. Your going to be weak for a few days but it’s going to be okay.” Jubal said still holding on to my hand.
“Y/N did you see her” I asked not caring about me.
“Yeah she’s uh pretty bad she’s not awake yet but the doctor’s are saying she has a good chance. It’s Y/N were taking about. She’s a fighter” Jubal said.
I squeezed his hand when he said and I think I just let the tears fall because i saw them hitting the blanket again.
“I wanna see her” I said
“OA look at me you need rest” Jubal said
“I don’t care I’m good please” I begged.
“Of course” Jubal said.
I was weak and Jubal helped me stand up and he showed me down to where Y/N was.
Tiff and Scola with Isobel were all out front her room with a sad look in their eyes.
I gave them a small smile and then headed in to see Y/N. She was laid on the bed with an oxygen tube up her nose.
I walked over to her and grabbed her and squeezed it.
“Hey Y/N It’s me OA i’m here can you hear me” I Asked
“I’m not going anywhere I’m going to be here everyday until you wake up because right now you just need some rest” I said
“I love you so much I should have told you I know this and I’m sorry I was just scared. Scared because I didn’t want to loose you. You ate the most important person in my life” I said
Everyone came in a few moments after I talked to her. They all talked and shared stories about Y/N her family was surrounded by her.
A few weeks Later
A few weeks had passed and I kept my promise to her. I sat with her everyday and I held her hand.I told her about my day.
I always ended it with I love you. I think I was making up for lost time.
I would walk in a say a prayer for her. It was the only thing I could to help.  I would be the first one to visit her and the last one to leave.
I would bring a small candle and light it in the room for her. I know I wasn’t supposed to and quickly blew out the flame. But it was my way of letting her know I was here.
If she couldn’t hear me maybe the smell would let her know someone was with her.
She was getting stronger every day I know she was.
I was back at working slowly though. Isobel had me on desk duty I just know it was her way of protecting me.
She felt bad about what happened to me. It was a hard balance. I fought her tooth and nail on the matter but in the end she is the boss.
It was a saturday morning now and something in the day just felt so different. I woke up with a happy excited feeling. It was a nice day out there was a shift in the environment.
I didn’t want to get my hopes up though. Nothing good could ever come from that.  I made my way to the hospital.
When i got there it was just me and for some reason I wanted to run right into the room.
Not that i usually didn’t something was just pulling me there. When i got to her floor some of the nurses were smiling at me.
I smiled back and when I walked into the room. I looked up and I was right it was something different today .
Y/N was awake and sitting up. She was looking at the tv playing. I walked closer to her and she saw me and gave a huge smile.
“Omar your okay” She said sitting up.
I ran over to her and bent down and gave her a hug. She leaned up to me and I could feel her wrap her arms around me and squeeze me tight. I did the same to her not wanting to let her go.
I placed my head on the top of hers not wanting to leave this position. I missed the warmth of her.
We pulled apart and I sat down next to her. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
“How are you feeling, are you okay. Do you need anything I could get up and” I was saying then she cut me off
“Omar take a breath I’m okay I just want you here okay” She said.
“How are you” She asked
“I’m good doing better back to a 100% physically” I said
“How are you feeling honestly” I asked her
“I’m good my head hurts and my body feels a little weird but at least I can’t say I’m tired” She said laughing.
“I’m so glad your awake I knew you would be okay” I said.
“Of course I heard your prayers” She said.
I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks and I felt a little shy in that moment.
“I heard everything you know, you talking to me so weird you know hearing you but I couldn’t respond” She said.
“You heard everything” I asked shyly
“Don’t be shy and yes I did. I loved hearing your voice everyday it made me feel better , I felt calmed down when you came by” She said
“Also tell Scola I know about his current situation and tell him that Nina sounds amazing  and he’s and Idiot” She said
“You can tell them when they come by there going to want to see you” I said
“Yeah I know but right now just me and you is all I want” She said.
“It’s all I want to” I said
“Hey uh listen I want to get this out the way now” She said
“I just want to ask now because you know I heard what you said but if being stuck in this bed it made me realize I need to stop putting of things, and I don’t want to wait and have any regrets.” Y/n said all in one big breath.
I could feel my heart beating faster and I prepped myself for the heartbreak that was about to come.
“When you said all that stuff in the beginning. Did you mean or it did you say it because you meant it or just said because you thought I was dying” She asked.
I gripped her hand and squeezed her hand tighter. I leaned in a little closer and we were just looking at each other.
“I meant every word I meant I love you so much I always have. I should have told you sooner but I was scared” I said
“I love you to so much but I didn’t want to ruin our friendship and our partnership we have one hell of a thing going” She said.
“Hell yeah we do” I said to her.
“It’s so funny we were both so scared the other didn’t feel the same way. Goes to show how much we have in common” She said
I leaned in and she leaned in to and I kissed her. She kissed me back softly and I cut it short because I didn’t want to over do it on her.
“You always kiss so soft” She asked when I pulled away.
“You can’t handle the real stuff right now” I said smiling
She laughed so hard and words can’t describe how much I missed that smile.
We spent a good while talking and catching up. I knew something was different about today.
After a while I called the team and let them know she was awake. They all headed over not to long after. Having to wrap up some things from work.
They all came by with flowers and a couple boxes of pizza.  Jubal ran right over to her and gave her a big hug and kiss on the head. Followed by everyone else.
Y/N looked at Scola when he came over and laughed.
“I heard what you said and your idiot” She said smiling
“Of course you did and thank you for that” Scola said in his usual sarcastic voice.
“We all missed you it hasn’t been the same in the field without you” Tiff said
“Now your just being nice because I’m in a hospital bed I know you like getting all the good action and take downs for yourself” Y/N said.
Making everyone laugh.
“In all seriousness though we haven’t been a complete family without you and we are so happy your back to us” Isobel said.
“Damn Y'all I’m crying but thank you every single one of you for your visit and long talks and even complaints. Hearing all of your voices kept me fighting and reminded me I wasn’t alone” Y/N said
“ I love you all so much thank you for being my family” Y/N said
“We love you to and thank you for letting us be your family” Jubal said.
The rest of the night we ate and laughed. They let us stay past visiting hours making an expectation.
I thank god all my Prayers worked for bringing her home to us.

“Please tell me she’s fine.” OA asked as soon as he barged through the hospital doors. The lead they had didn’t seem to equate to much of anything, not unless they wanted to go to a list of hundreds and find a crimson red flag among the others. Considering the shop wasn’t always true to its nature. And for now, they were left fishing for other leads, sifting through hours of camera footage to find something. And hearing the news, he couldn’t be anywhere else but here at this moment.
Because if it were the last, and he wasn’t here, OA would have never forgiven himself for it. Not in a million years.
“OA, you should calm down before I tell you anything.” Terrence said, leading OA to a nearby chair. It was the best Terrence could do before OA before getting down to the details. It was what he always did. “Look before you go accusing this or that, we did everything we could. We’re all family here at this hospital and we would move heaven and earth to make sure (Y/n) would come out alright.”
“Just tell me already, Terrence. I have to know.” OA braced himself for the bad news to come. He found it almost funny since he always thought the roles would be reversed, that it would be him on death’s bed while his friends broke the devastating news to his family...and of course (Y/n).
“(Y/n) had lost a lot of blood by the time she came in. She was loosing more by the second and though we were lucky the bullet didn’t do too much damage. While we were able to stop the bleeding, the damage had already been done and she slipped into a coma. We’re doing what we can for now, the rest all depends on (Y/n).”
“What are her odds?”
“Well, from a medical perspective, it’s hard to say. The chances are a bit low but we both know (Y/n). We both know how much of a fighter she is, I’m sure you remember that bar fight. She won’t back down ever and if I was placing bets on who could get out of this, it’s (Y/n).”
OA cracked a small smile but honestly, he wasn’t sure what to think.
“If word changes, you’ll be the first to know. But in the meantime, if you need anything just call.”
“Who is her power of attorney?”
And for once, Terrence grew silence, the smile that he once had faded. OA had a feeling Terrence knew something he didn’t. Something about (Y/n) that she had yet to unpack for him.
“That’s a bit more complicated. Because the last person we have on file, it’s not someone I want to call up.”
“Who is it?”
“(Y/n) always meant to tell you about him, OA. He was a bastard of a man who almost ruined (Y/n)...he almost destroyed her chances at ever being in a relationship. Well to ever be her happy self again, he tore her apart piece by piece until here was almost nothing left.” OA could feel his blood begin to boil even hearing this vague description. Wanting nothing more than to hunt down the man and punch him square in the face for even daring to hurt the kind hearted woman. But he knew it was best saved for another time, when lives weren’t in the balance. “ And then, you came along OA. I wasn’t sure at first about the whole thing but I saw the way (Y/n) looked at you and you looked at her. I saw how you lit up her world every time you stopped by the hospital or when you texted. You showed her that it was alright to open herself up and love again. You showed her how to be happy again. I’m as grateful for you as (Y/n) is.”
                                                        ------------
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Her eyes fluttered opened to a scene before her. It was early morning, the sun’s rays flooding through the blinds casting light into the room. There she lied, a smile adorned, as she took in the sight before her: OA sound asleep by her side, soft snores escaping his lips. He looked so peaceful...so handsome and perfect, she could barely even fathom being here. Despite in the sounds of a car going on, nothing really could break this moment.
(Y/n) reached her hand eye, her thumb tracing his well defined features. Shaping the sculpture of a man that laid before her.
“How did I get so lucky?” (Y/n) murmured, planting a kiss on his forehead. Only to hear a small chuckle.
“I should be asking the same thing.”
The two giggled before embracing one another, their lips gently meeting as they danced in harmony. Their hearts skipping a beat in unity as they cherished this moment forever. A memory imprinted on their minds, like they framed it up high. They never wanted to leave this room, they never wanted to leave this moment since it was simply perfect.
Her lips curved into a smile as they parted ways but as she opened her eyes, hoping to see OA, they only opened to see him.
“Hello darling.”
And the heart that once beated so fast, now stopped. A cold chill ran up her spine as panic began to rise. She could feel her trembling hands trying to push him away, trying to get him off her.
“Now, now, we’re just getting started. You’re the one who wanted this after all.”
“N-No. P-Please s-stop.”
“You can’t deny me, darling.”
Goosebumps rose as last night’s leftovers threaten to rise. Feeling her shaking hands bound over her head, feeling as his other hand explored her every inch, she just wanted it to stop. Yet despite her pleas he continued as he pleased.
Just like he had done over and over again.
It wasn’t always like this. It wasn’t always like this toxic push and pull, there were once happy times. They were both happy once upon a time. Until those darker parts began to show and take over. She tried to leave numerous times but it first began that he promised to stop but when it didn’t, when she was serious this time, things turned ugly. Leaving her trapped in a place she once called home, unable to call for help even if she could.
Only hoping that soon someone would realize that something was wrong...that they would come crashing through that door soon.
But it never came.
“Stop crying already!” (Y/n) could feel the burning sensation before his hand even made contact with her cheek. Tears streamed steadily down her face as she cried out for help that would never come. “Come on, (Y/n). I can’t be the only who’s trying to make this work. We were happy.”
“Then you changed.”
“I’m...I’m not the bad guy! Stop painting me as one.”
“Stop acting as one. You think the man before me is the man I fell in love with. You think he’s the one I wanted to marry, where I would say ‘I do’ a thousand times over, because he’s not.”
Another hit made her neck twist uncomfortably as sobs escaped her lips. Especially feeling him beginning to push in without a care of what she felt. And if that wasn’t enough, she felt his hands tighten around her neck, squeezing more and more tightly until breath could longer come in.
“This isn’t my fault.”
Feeling her life begin to drain and she so desperately clawed at his arms and face. But it was only grabs to keep on living in this miserable reality.
If only that would have happened, seeing this was his tactic again and again. And by the time she came to again, he apologize continuously, taking care of her like he did back then.
“(Y/n)!”
Hearing that voice, hope returned as she tried to shout with all her might. But her guardian angel found her with trying, punching her shell of a husband without hesitation while cradling her ever so gently.
“It’s going to be alright. Don’t worry, I’m going to take care of you. And that bastard won’t ever lay his hands on you again.”
                                                          ------------
“So after all these years, she finally needs me again? Funny how things work out, huh?”
OA held his tongue for now but hearing the way he talked about (Y/n), like she was still his...like he belonged to her despite everything. OA wondered how he even managed to get a woman like (Y/n) in the first place. Better yet why he would even think about harming even a hair on her.
“Warren, so help me God, one wrong comment and I’ll beat your ass again. Put your that massive ego aside and do something good for (Y/n). You owe her that much after all the hell you put her through.”
“Hey now, I still love her as much as I ever did.”
“Then prove it. Make the right decision, make sure she survives. Better yet, after she does survive, let her wake up to you finally signing those divorce papers. She deserves to finally be happy, Warren. So make the right decision.”

Hey everyone! Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it. I wasn’t even sure about posting this story but it’s hard not to seeing the idea just wouldn’t stop running through my head. Anyway, I do try to post as often as I can but I do have another story on this platform and I have other stories on other platforms to keep up with. Not to mention school, work, and other things, I’ll try my best though! Same to replying to others as it depends on when I check here. Anyway I hope you all are doing well and I have a few others to tag for their support:

Would anybody be willing to write about OA Zidan in FBI training? I just finished watching season 1 episode 10 and towards the end where OA said he almost quit because of Quinn had me thinking of him like coming home to a girlfriend and saying he wanted to quit and maybe they talk it over.
