literally loves mitski and mac demarco. he likes very indie hopeless romantic type music, it's literally hilarious to catch him just vibing in his feels

SECRETLY HAS PINTEREST BAHAHAHAHA but just for finding poetry and looking at bonsai trees. Mikey found out (like he doesn't have pinterest too??) and they all ended up making fun of him for it to the point where Leo debated deleting the app but ended up forgetting about it.

very specific but he has this unique type of love language where he'll ask you something and without any further questions he will go get or accomplish whatever he hinted at. for example, y'all will just be hanging out, and he'll go, "are you hungry?" and if you just as much nod your head hesitantly he will run to the kitchen and make you a 3 course meal. or, he'll just ask you if you're cold, and if you say yes he brings you a heater and a blanket. he doesn't ask things like, "can i get you a water?" he'll just ask if you're thirsty and go from there.

has the most gorgeous handwriting on the planet. this beautiful cursive print that is lowkey unreadable but so aesthetically pleasing. at first you were shocked but as you got to know him it made lots of sense, literally probably his biggest hobby is just remembering some random thing and then spending weeks straight perfecting it until it's natural for him. he loves to challenge himself to be perfect at literally anything, and his hand writing is one of those instances.

HE'S LITERALLY A VIRGO GUYS HE IS THE DEFINITION OF A VIRGO OH MY GOD

speaks fluent japanese OF COURSE but his brothers don't know it as well as he does (they all know a little at least) and he'll curse them out quietly in japanese behind their backs.

Leo wouldn't say he had a favorite brother of course but he definitely prefers Don's presense over the others. they always go to each other first when they have a problem or just want to rant, and they have a bunch of inside jokes.

after Donnie, Leo's the biggest insomniac. he gets nightmares a lot unfortunately, and most times when he wakes up he physically can't go back to sleep. literally Mikey will get up for a glass of water at 5:37 in the morning and Leo is up doing flips.

very random, but Leo is AWFUL at math. he meant to learn at some point but the time passed and he missed the boat. ofc math is Don's second language and Mikey and Raph couldn't care less (but somehow Mikey always guesses the right answers without doing the correct work??) but Leo is lowkey embarrassed that he struggles with it so much. he can do basic math and most things that come up in daily life like practical equations, but anything past times tables and division he is cannot understand. if you come over and need help on your math homework he will try his HARDEST to help you but ultimately he's completely clueless.

always takes bugs outside. if the creepy crawly is creepy enough or makes you screech, he'll whip it with his katana but normally he'll take the time to scoop it up in his hands (literally no fear) and walk it outside calmly.

literally LOVES doing chores. it's like a form of self care for him. folding laundry, sweeping, mopping, washing the dishes, organizing the dojo, he'll literally put on some music and go to town. when he visits you he will literally just start straightening things up and picking things off of the floor. he hates having nothing to do so he'll just ask for something he can clean while y'all chit chat.

incredibly flexible. he can bend every which way, sit comfortably in a split for hours, can bend over IN HALF and grab the back of his legs--he's literally maxed out on flexibility. but splits training is his private time so unless you sneak you won't catch a glance. but when you do, in between of sliding dojo doors, it is... something. like excuse me sir how tf doesn't that hurt your bAWLLS

smells like lavender. dead serious his signature scent is lavender. it's not like he wears cologne or anything, he just lights a lot of lavender incense and candles to the point where if someone even steps foot in his room they walk out aroma-fied.

everyone in the fandom has their personal opinion of who's the best cook and who's the worst cook of the four, and it is finally time for my hot take of the century. i think Leo is by far the best chef, and Raph is the one who can't even make toast right. a lot of people say Mikey is the chef of the family, which i agree with, he enjoys cooking and baking very much, but this doesn't mean the food he makes is good 💀💀💀 he trusts himself over any recipe and so he just throws in whatever he feels like. Leo can't stand being in the kitchen while Mikey is cooking, his ocd can't stand it. this said, you'd think this would mean the guys prefer Leo's cooking over Mikey's but fact is Leo is such a perfectionist he will spend hours working on a meal it's past 11 by the time he's done. and he doesn't take requests, he only makes what he wants and then on top of that the healthnut version. he makes sushi a lot and goes crazy when you bring him salmon.

IS SUCH A DORK BAHAHAHA if you even so much MENTION a book or a show he likes he will blabber for HOURS about it. he knows every single fact there is to know about star trek it is insane. you amuse him not because you're interested of course but he is just so damn adorable when he's talking about something he enjoys (which he rarely gets the chance to without being made fun of LMAO)

Abby Anderson was the sun; shimmering like gold, brightly above the rest of the FOB. Isaac knew it, as did the rest of the WLF, with some resenting it. It was useless to deny– she was strong, resilient, intelligent, too. Soldiers were already revered, given the best of the best, and first to every resource. They did scavenge for most of them after all. Yet what was left for the rest? Those whose contributions were deemed less worthy, for those who were weak to this work, for what you had to become for it. You can’t bring yourself to carry out the tasks necessary for survival, yet here you are. You are alive, yet you don’t know how or even why.

Abby had saved you, all those years ago from the cusp of Oregon on her way to Washington. You’d tried to go the other way, escape from Seattle as fast as you could. Being a child in the FOB was not kind, not if you were different in the way you were. Not adept at fighting, and not keen on learning either, you were cursed. The group of stalkers would have surely killed you if it wasn’t for the “Salt Lake Crew” as Isaac dubbed them. The Fireflies were who you’d meant to escape to. If nearly dying to a horde of infected wasn’t scarring enough, the destruction of the Fireflies was worse.

As soon as Abby had stepped foot into the FOB, with her group of survivors and you in tow, Isaac had already made the pedestal for her. Returning the runaway, and proving she was a lethal combatant on the same day. Even though the rest of her friends were skillful, she still radiated an unmatched presence. Where did that leave you? What could you do to contribute anything useful to the WLF? Nothing, especially not when Abby’s arrival and her flying through her training with extraordinary precision were all anyone could talk about. No one seemed to even realize you were back. Did they realize you were gone in the first place?

Despite everything, Abby still had a soft spot for you. Every time she visited your station, she’d pull you away from the kids you were looking after, to tell you of her latest and greatest adventure. The most you had seen outside of the gates was on your trip to Oregon, and it was the most you were ever destined to see. Scars and infected were at the forefront of your mind, regardless of your position, tucked in the stadium. It was poetic in a way, to essentially raise the kids who were the same as you, useless on the battlefield, soft, and unaware. You were perfect for these kids, teaching them what you’d learned from the countless books Abby had snagged for you on patrol. All to distract them from their peers, who were being tailored after every great soldier to ever fight for the WLF. To distract them from people like Abby, and their infinite superiority over the weak. Today was one of the days you had off, where the only buzz happening in the stadium was the routine patrol.

Abby had the day off, too. A rarity.

You’d honestly planned on staying in your cramped room, which was too small for them to even try to pawn a roommate off to you. You’d doubted most even knew you had a room all to yourself. It was certainly not something people cared about. Not when there were rooms like Abby’s. Your pajamas were still on, with you tucked beneath the rough polyester of your duvet, when you heard the rhythmic thumping on your door. There was only one person who could be up at this moment and still have enough social battery to interact with you. Abby.

You groaned, putting the nearly disintegrating house slippers on as you rose from your mattress on the floor. When you opened the door, there she was. In her glistening glory and blonde, braided hair, Abby stood above you.

“Hey,” she started, softly.

“What time is it?.”, you yawned back at her. “Is this not too early for a day you’re not even scheduled to patrol?”

“Nah,” she breathed out a light laugh, “just got back from the gym.”

“Mm. So, uh, can I go back to bed please?”

When you looked back up at her, in all your tired glory, she melted. Her puppy eyes looking down at you made you want to fall to the ground and sob. Moments like these reminded you, she was still your best friend, much to the dismay of many others. The others saw you as a nuisance in the way of a god. And you felt like it.

“Not without me.” she laughed, her nose scrunching.

If she knew how you felt she wouldn’t be this lackadaisical with her language.

“Your freckles seem like they’re glowing.” you’d blurted. They did though, with the rising sun, much to your embarrassment.

She shot back a confused look before laughing once more.

“You can take a nap in my room, Manny’s out for– well you can probably guess why. Just want to show you something.”

“Alright”, you garbled back to her. “Let me just grab some stuff.”

You’d put your real shoes on and kept your pajamas on, but grabbed a sweater. It was always colder in her room. More space. She’d stayed in your doorway, leaning into the frame.

“You ready to head up?” she perked herself up, reaching over and leading you forward with a large hand on your lower back.

Leaning into her touch, you hummed. On the way to her room, passersby seemed neverending. Staring at you, giving quizzical looks to Abby. As to say why would Abby be seen with someone as useless as her? You just dug yourself further into Abby’s side, as if to merge yourself with her and be as one. She made you feel like a team, like a unit. At least when it was just her, with no one around to stare at you. To make you resent her, even when all you’ve ever wanted was to love her endlessly. You do, you swear you do. And the way she looks at you like you are the only one to exist, makes you feel like you’re allowed to. Her gaze leads you to question if you even do resent her, or if you just resent yourself.

When you both finally make it to her room, she leans out of you and unlocks the door. She opens it and ushers you in. Beelining to her bed, you throw yourself onto it, ripping your shoes off and throwing them down next to her bookshelves.

“What’d you have to show me?”

Your voice came out muffled, as your face was smushed into Abby’s pillow. It smelled like her, and you loved breathing her in.

“Well, if you’ll dig yourself out of my bed, you’d see it.”

Of course, you’d listened to her, you’d probably do anything she’d ask of you.

When you look up, there it is. With the most ridiculous shark plush you’d ever seen in your life. In her other hand, she’s holding what seems to be an encyclopedia, more specifically the last edition of your set.

The gasp you’d let out was the loudest you’d been all morning. Abby had set the items down on her desk before closing the distance between you.

“Knew you’d like it.”

“I more than like it, I– I can’t even thank you enough, oh my god.” choking out your words, and biting back a sob, your hands shot to wipe the tears that’d started.

She’d wrapped her arms around you, embracing you, rubbing your back.

“Hey, hey– why are you crying? Such a sap.”

Her chest rumbled with a slight laugh, but you could still hear the worry in her timbre.

Soon, your slight cries turned into full sobbing.

“So sweet t’me Babs, don’t deserve it.”

Abby pushes out for a moment, tilting your head up with her large hand. Eyes wild, looking everywhere but her, you started to rock against her.

“I’m sorry.” you blubber, over and over again.

She holds you against her, shushing you. Abby isn’t sure how to act, she’s never dealt with this before, never. As your friend, she’d known you’d had fits like this, yet she’d never seen the extent of them. Or even the cause for that matter. To be frank, even if it was to her dismay, Abby was busy. As much as she wanted to be there for you, she couldn’t be. She’d felt shitty about it before but now the guilt was insurmountable. You’d cried there for the better part of a half hour, your sobs dying down until there was nothing but sniffles left.

“You don’t have anything to be sorry for– Hey, hey! It’s okay. What brought this on?” She said into the crown of your head, breathing in the smell of your shampoo.

Pulling away, you looked up at her with swollen, red eyes.

“Do I look stoned?”

Even though Abby was concerned beyond belief, she managed a stressed laugh, before she looked into your eyes.

“I’m serious, what happened?”

Looking away, your face grew red again with scarlet shame.

“Just feel bad. You do just, so much for me, for everyone here. It’s not fair to you. I’m not fair to you.”

She shoots you a look, one that looks akin to a shot puppy.

“You’ve been saddled with me since you got here. I’m guilty and everyone knows it. Everyone.”, you curl into your knees and let out a discontented sigh.

Abby sits there and thinks to herself for a moment, before finally speaking.

“Don’t, don’t feel guilty,” she said.

“Why would you feel guilty? Sweet girl, you know I’d do anything–”

“That’s the problem!”, you’d shouted. “I don’t deserve it. I can’t do anything for you in return, I’m just trapped in the stadium until I rot. You’re meant for more, everyone knows it but you.”

The crushing reality of your confession left a hefty weight over the room. It was like a ticking bomb, just about to detonate.

Abby sighed for what seemed like the millionth time. You honestly wanted to drop dead, to stop her from stress.

“I love you so much, I don’t understand how you can’t seem to care about yourself more.”

It was your turn to be shocked. The words she’d uttered were something you’d dreamed of, hopelessly, for so many years. Yet now, it felt like a crushing blow to your identity. Maybe that’s what you’d needed for yourself. To see yourself in a different light, how Abby sees you.

“I– you, you love me?” You were reeling at the moment.

“Of course I do. In every way, you’re my sweet girl.”

You grab her hand, and your other cups her cheek. She looks at you with those same puppy eyes and you know that you’d do anything for her, even if that meant learning to care for yourself. All for her. In every way you’d loved her like she loved you.

And in every way you hoped that this was real and that this moment would be infinite. Just the two of you, with no prying eyes, and the promise of work in the morning.

ME AND MY HUSBAND IS NOT SOME HAPPY LOVE SONG. And as much as I love love love mitski you really think MICKEY MILKOVICH is putting her on ?

GONNA EXSPLAIN WHY THIS IS WRONG NOW.

'Me and my husband' can ofc like all songs be interpreted differently. I'm gonna explain the interpretation I most strongly agree with (this is also from what I've seen is a pretty common interpretation). I'll also talk about how it doesn't relate to gallavich.

It starts with a heavy sigh. Straight away, you get a tired and negative feeling from the song. This alone is enough (imo) to tell that this isn't gallaviche's song because in what world would either of them start talking about their husband with a sigh? Mickey and Ians' relationship is the strongest it has ever been once they married. If anything, they should be having a sigh of relief because they finally get to be together.

Although the instrumentals are rather upbeat, the lyrics carry a sombre tone. "So I bet all that I have on that furrowed brow" comes to mind straight away. You have furrowed brows when ur angry, maybe upset/confused. One of her husbands noticeable traits is a thing of negative connotations. You could see this as a hint to her husband being abusive. Neither Ian nor mickey are abusive, so would not fit this role within the song.

These lines come across as almost desperate. Sure, you could see this as her lighting up as she sees her love, but to me, it's more than that. She feels helpless when he's not around. She only have value when her husband is with her / she needs her husband to feel validated and worth something. Maybe she's nothing but she has her husbands loves and she desperately hangs on to that to feel for herself. Mickey and Ian don't have that dynamic. They are both self-assured people by themselves.

To me this song feels like she is clinging to a relationship because she doesn't feel sustained by herself. She's trapped chasing the feeling of being loved. It has this undertone of "yeah he doesn't always treat me right but I've been with him so long ik he loves me in their somewhere and I am nothing without him so I'll stay" feeling to it. Its almost like she's been broken down by her husband so that see needs him and sees she's that but not enough to leave.

The slight repetition of "we're sticking together " affirms this for me. She's tired from start to finish trying to convince herself to hold out hope that her marriage can change. She can still be loved by him.

"At least in this lifetime" is a way of showing that she doesn't really want this. In another life, she would rather leave. Maybe she's scared to leave, and she's waiting for another life for the courage. Does any of this song like gallavich to you? Gallavich are desperate, sure, but they are desperate to finally be able to show love, not receive it.

Saying mickey relates to this song would be trying to say that he feels like nothing when Ian isn't around. The idea that mickey is only a love interest is irritating enough as it and u think he sees himself that way too?? I know mickey would get this song more than surface level. I mean, the man was a radiohead fan as a teenager. So, no, I don't think he relates to it.

I think if any relationship fit this song, it would be mandy and Lip.

Ok, I feel the need to talk about my mid season 5 thoughts on Jon, so here it is:

I get it, I understand why he's so afraid of trying again. It's hard when you look at all your past actions of 2+ years and see that, you're not manipulated, you're not being influenced, those were all your actions, your own free will, but someone took them all and made them into something you hated.

He's afraid of trying, afraid of what might happen if he keeps hoping, and most of all, he's afraid of himself. How can you trust yourself to save humanity, when you're not even a human yourself? I think it's one of the reasons why he clings to Martin so tightly, Martin, sweet, angry Martin, who is undoubtedly human. With such human reactions, with a human heart and human emotions. Loving Martin is the last bit of humanity Jon has left, and he's going to maintain it.

This is my interpretation of his character as of Right Now. (Mag 178) so it might change, idk

My CD Collection! (As Of 4/22/24)

I wanted to share my current CD collection since collecting them is something I enjoy and I thought it'd be fitting to post it here! I currently have seven CDs in my collection and I'll be listing them in the order I got them in with pictures and stuff!

The first in my collection was PORTALS by Melanie Martinez. (BTW, I know the controversy, so I'm not listening to her as much anymore, but she was my favorite artist for a long time and I loved this album when it came out.)

It has a disc (ofc) and a little booklet. No lyrics, just pictures of them in their pink alien form. I got it off Amazon when the album first came out.

My favorite tracks are NYMPHOLOGY, VOID, EVIL, and BATTLE OF THE LARYNX.

The second one I got was GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo.

It came with a lyric booklet with pictures, the disc and another booklet with the lyrics in other languages. This one was from Amazon as well but it came from Japan.

My favorite tracks are vampire, all American bitch, making the bed, teenage dream and lacy. (I honestly like all the songs on this album, but those are my favorites.)

Next is Bewitched by Laufey.

It came with the disc and a booklet with lyrics and pictures. This one was from Amazon as well.

My favorite tracks are From The Start, Lovesick, While You Were Sleeping, Letter To My 13 Year Old Self, and Promise.

Here's my first Mitski CD; Puberty 2.

This one only came with the disc, but it opens up and has the lyrics on the inside of the case. This is also from Amazon.

My favorite tracks are Happy, Dan the Dancer, Your Best American Girl, and I Bet On Losing Dogs. (I love pretty much all of them though.)

Recently I went to Barnes and Noble and got two new ones. The first one I got was Found Heaven by Conan Gray.

It came with a lyric booklet with photos and the disc.

My favorite tracks are Found Heaven, Alley Rose, Never Ending Song, Boys & Girls, Lonely Dancers, and Winner. (It's SUCH a good album and I like all the songs, these are just my favorites at the moment.)

The second one from B&N is Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers.

It came with the disc and a lyric booklet with really cool illustrations inside. The one in the picture is for Kyoto.

My favorite tracks are Garden Song, Kyoto, I Know The End, ICU, Savior Complex and Moon Song. (I love all of them LOL.)

The latest one I got (and my current favorite as well as the most special one in my collection) was The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan.

OKAY THIS ONE IS SO SO SO SPECIAL TO ME BECAUSE IT CAME WITH A SIGNED PHOTO CARD!!! YIPPEEE!!! It also came with the disc and a lyric map type thing with a dedication letter inside as well. This one came from Ebay since the signed ones were sold out on her store.

My favorite tracks are Casual, Red Wine Supernova, HOT TO GO!, Pink Pony Club, My Kink Is Karma, Femininomenon, and Picture You. (I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALL THE SONGS ON THIS ALBUM but these are just some of my main picks.)

I'm sad so here's some music headcanons for Destiny 2 characters, assuming music remained intact since the pre-Golden Age:

- Cayde: ofc I'm starting with him. I feel like he'd listen to a bit of everything to be honest (I'm projecting so hard rn), but most of the content of his playlists would be "european childhood" songs (idk what else to call them), 80's music and white girl music. My boy would absolutely kill it at an ABBA karaoke night. He knows every single move to the Just Dance Rasputin dance (he learnt when he was a human, but don't tell him that. He likes to think he came up with it), which only fueled Andal's jokes about him being Rasputin (the warmind, not the dude). Oh and he listens to Hozier when he's Feeling™.

- Eris: my favorite goth. However, i feel like she'd mainly go for the loud stuff, to drown The Voices™. Real loud. Like, Deep Purple loud. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are on the list as well, she likes to vary. As for the goth, perhaps some Nine Inch Nails. The Cure, definitely. She really likes how russian songs sound. Saint thinks she's weird.

- Ikora: other than the occasional heavy metal music sesh with her gf (she specifically enjoys Metallica), she's really into lofi. I know, i know. Polar opposites. But she's stressed, ok? She also wouldn't say no to some bedroom pop/alternative/indie. I can picture her listening to Rex Orange County.

- Zavala: Zuzuvela! Classical music, who would've guessed. A bit cliche, i know, but hear me out. I like to think man's learned to play the piano when living with Safiyah, and used to play Für Elise for her. He still plays it now when he's feeling down. Are you crying yet? I am. Anyways, we all know he listens to Shaxx's tapes as well.

- Amanda: everything about her screams rap to me. But like, all rap. From Eminem to Tupac to Nicki Minaj to Kendrick Lamar. Imma throw Tyler, The Creator and Childish Gambino in as well because that's my personal Holy Trinity. Kendrick, Gambino and Tyler. In that order, iykwim.

- Crow: now this guy, he's the definition of "a bit of everything". Hozier. Soooo much Hozier in this guy's wrapped. If you look closely you might spot some Will Wood and Mitski. Oh and, ofc, the queens as well: Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, etc. Now that i think about it, he would make a great Y2K girl, but that's between me and God.

I ran out of colors so that's it! Please tell me if i should make more i have so many of these (i will probably make more regardless). Also please tell me if i got any genres and/or artists wrong, I did do some research but you never know <3
