The Spiral is fucking terrifying. I'm kinda tired of it being always portrayed as ONLY the Distortion and ONLY as "ohohohoho whimsy! Ohhh haha funny joke with some gaslighting words, but it's FUNNY because the Spiral is all about colours! And clowny not-clown aesthetic! HAHAHAHA"

Bitch, I say this as someone who loves the Distortion and Helen and Michael (Distortion versions) a bunch.

The Spiral is genuinely the most OP fear in today's climate with how shit mental health has become. It's the utter fear of being mentally unwell and how it ends up controlling you beyond reason.

I suffer a debilitating mental condition and sometimes I cry myself to sleep because I become irrationally paranoid that the Spiral is gonna come get me because I'm too "sick" and I'll disappear and never know it because my perception is that fucked up.
