I have been reading #codered by @sassylisalister and am adoring it so far. I have always treated my bleed time as a pain and not something to honour at all but reading this book is teaching me to love every part of my cycle and use each stage to live my best life. Today I have made my bleed box filled with treats, crystals, bath bombs, incense and more which I can bring out each time I bleed to make sure I am looking after myself, respecting this part of my cycle and tuning into the power that this time of my cycle can bring. Part of embracing your feminine is embracing your cycle each month and learning to honor each phase. This is something new to me and I am learning more each month. . . The phase of bleeding to ovulation is considered a time of intuition, creativity, rest, and then the phase around ovulation is a time of energy, strength, communication, sex. After a few months of paying attention I completely feel these shifts throughout the month. . . It takes time to be able to hear and feel your bodies cues since we have been programmed to stop listening for so long. But now I listen, I hear, I sense what my body needs and I treat it with the love it deserves. . . So that means when I am exhausted and my low back is killing me on day 1 of my period I REST. I do not try to eliminate the symptoms with pain pills and coffee.
