I write this in dedication to my ancestors who lived in service of love, and whose knowing I hope to activate through the remembrance of imagination.

Story - When I was around 5 or 6, I had an obsession with Love and would respond to any form illness or grief of a loved one by drawing and cutting out a paper love heart, running it under water and the heart on the part of their body that felt saw. When I was around 5 my dad introduced me to the song Love Train and the obsession extended to a perpetual repetition of the melody in my head. My dad made a ritual of playing me Mowtown records and later Soul Train footage, and by the age of 3 I had already decided Stevie Wonder was my future lover to be.

Activation

My main play thing was performance, I would stage shows with improvised dance, song and drama routines and enforce my toys and family to sit through them.

Vehicle

Growing up my parents held amazing parties. Parties were particularly exciting as they brought more willing audiences to witness my latest material. One evening as my parents were in the throws of partying I decided to build a love train - using a cardboard box, crayons, a pair of suspenders and my brothers train hat I assigned myself the role of train conductor to my new and glorious whip.

I got my parents to put on ‘Love Train’ and circling the premise of the party making chi chi motions, picking up passengers on the back of my cardboard train

[Overdog] [Keef Hartley Band] [1971] [LP] Is it jazz, is it prog rock or psychedelic? Is it philly sound, is it West Coast music or pop rock or even Canterbury rock? Is it blues rock or funk? Already the opener irritates and heats up at the same time. So that you inevitably have to keep listening. The second track is no less irritating because of the combination of Rhythm and Blues and Britrock of the 1960s. If someone thought perhaps that it concerns here a US American band with slight tendency to experiment, can be recognized with the third track and highlight (Theme Song / Enroute / Theme Song Reprise) clearly the British origin and could assume a piece of the Canterbury sound legend "Caravan" turns straight on the turntable. The following title track (Overdog) confuses once again with a combination of John Lennon on Spacerock Trip and Hammond organ funk. It continues with the once again surprising "Roundabout". Fantastic horn solos, big band horn arrangements paired with most delicious guitar solos, great! After all this tempo there is a bit of relaxation with the cool and jazzy "Imitations from Home". At the end of the album it sounds like a late track just before the breakup of the Fab Four, without wanting to pander to their fans. . Oh, what a great album "Overdog" is. Gamble also formed Mighty Three Publishing with Huff and fellow PIR songwriter Thom Bell. Kenny is renowned for his humanitarian works for both civic and charitable causes ... notably the "Clean Up The Ghetto" project. He was inducted into "Rock And Roll Hall of Fame" in 2008. Currently he continues to write music with Leon Huff.
