Why does Lord Vader like to carry you and your clone captain??

I've asked myself this question many times and all I can deduce is that Lord Vader is fixated on the fact that I am a very respectable 1.65 meters and therefore shorter than him. Everyone in the fleet is shorter than him, but for whatever reason, I seem to have gotten his attention. He realized that he could pick me up when he found me reaching for a caf mug on the top shelf years ago. Since then, it's become a habit, similarly to his propensity to drape his cape over my head when in need of entertainment.

Y'know, I always thought that after everything that Vader's been through, he'd come to the conclusion that he wasn't meant to be free. In his mind, every free decision he's made has been a bad one. After the fall of the Empire, I feel like he'd be lost, blindly following orders from the New Republic, expecting Luke and Leia to treat him like Palpatine did. Never even beginning to recover. Until Piett shows up again, starts working closely with Vader in the New Republic and slowly but surely helping him start recovering.
