the st writers plotting out the entirety of s5 on the whiteboard only to change key plot points, add random words and drawings, and put a marker holder on top of a square (on episode 7 of course), then deciding to pixelate the entire whiteboard for funsies all while watching us going insane over something that's not even there in the first place

so somebody may have already said this, and forgive me if so, but i DO NOT think the pen-holder square is "real" -- let me explain why.

first, there appears to be a lot more text in the pixelated square than in the clear one:

it looks like the text from the pixelated box might even start a little above its assigned cell, and definitely fills the entire square left-to-right (unlike the clear version, which has a large empty space to the right of the arrow).

second, as @byler-is-endgame7 pointed out already, it looks like something was erased from the pen-holder version of the square. plus, there's a bit of a drawing underneath the pen-holder (which looks like it could possibly be a gate?)

third, and this is mostly a joke -- if it's actually a pen-holder, why the hell is there nothing in it when all of the markers are laying around wherever along the bottom of the board? 😂 at least use the thing!

and lastly, there's just no logical reason why they would write "this is a pen-holder" on the season 5 storyboard in the place of actual notes. that cell would have been otherwise dedicated to the final scene(s) of episode seven -- aka the second to last episode of the entire show. there's no way they would have wasted that spot on what's essentially just a laugh. it makes a fair amount of sense that this would be the part of the storyboard with information that's a big enough spoiler to completely black a chunk of it out in addition to the pixelation, too. plus, that post, if "fake", would be a great tactic to keep whatever surprise is in that box still, well, surprising when season 5 does come out! there's very little reason to believe they aren't doing this intentionally. the writers want to keep their audience guessing at what will happen next, without figuring too much out on their own and taking away the enjoyment we get from watching it :) so, im remaining entirely delusional and only the slightest bit discouraged by this.
