Third Plenary Meeting - SIDS4 (27-30 May 2024 - Antigua and Barbuda).
The fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) is held from 27 to 30 May 2024 in St John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Under the overarching theme of "Charting the course toward resilient prosperity", the Conference aims at assessing the ability of SIDS to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals.
Pursuant to the modalities decided in General Assembly resolution 77/328 and the decision by the Preparatory Committee of 1 April 2024, Member States and the European Union may speak in the general debate. Following their statements, representatives of the following may, time permitting, make a statement in the general debate, in the order that they are listed below: (a) intergovernmental organizations and other entities that have received a standing invitation from the General Assembly to participate in the capacity of observer in the sessions and work of the General Assembly and other relevant intergovernmental organizations and international bodies that were accredited pursuant to paragraph 9 (b) above; (b) associate members of regional commissions; (c) specialized agencies and related organizations; (d) interested United Nations organs; and (e) non-governmental organizations, major groups and other relevant stakeholders.

Closing of the session (Closing remarks)
The Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing was established by the General Assembly by resolution 65/182 on 21 December 2010. The working group will consider the existing international framework of the human rights of older persons and identify possible gaps and how best to address them, including by considering, as appropriate, the feasibility of further instruments and measures.
Provisional agenda for the 14th Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing:
1. Election of officers. 2. Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters. 3. Participation of national human rights institutions in the work of the Open ended Working Group on Ageing. 4. Participation of non-governmental organizations in the work of the Open ended Working Group on Ageing. 5. Measures to enhance the promotion and protection of the human rights and dignity of older persons. 6. Follow-up to resolution 78/177: measures to enhance the promotion and protection of the human rights and dignity of older persons: best practices, lessons learned, possible content for a multilateral legal instrument and identification of areas and issues where further protection and action are needed. 7. Other matters. 8. Adoption of the report.

7th Meeting, 15th Session of the Expert Group on Resource Management.
The UNECE Resource Management Week 2024, including the 15th session of the Expert Group on Resource Management (EGRM-15), will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, 22-26 April 2024. Leaders, experts, and stakeholders in resource management will gather to discuss sustainable development challenges and opportunities. Our theme, "Assuring sustainability in resource management", will focus on the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC) and the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS) and their pivotal role in resource management worldwide.

(10th meeting) UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, 23rd session.
Item 6: Future work of the Permanent Forum, including issues considered by the Economic and Social Council, the outcome document of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples and emerging issues
The twenty-third session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) will take place in-person at UN Headquarters in New York from 15-26 April 2024. Theme: "Enhancing Indigenous Peoples' right to self-determination in the context of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: emphasizing the voices of Indigenous youth".
The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) is a high- level advisory body to the Economic and Social Council. The Forum was established on 28 July 2000 by resolution 2000/22, with the mandate to deal with indigenous issues related to economic and social development, culture, the environment, education, health and human rights.
More specifically, the Permanent Forum:
provides expert advice and recommendations on indigenous issues to the Council, as well as to programmes, funds and agencies of the United Nations, through ECOSOC;
raises awareness and promotes the integration and coordination of activities related to indigenous issues within the UN system;
prepares and disseminates information on indigenous issues;
promotes respect for and full application of the provisions of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and follow up the effectiveness of this Declaration (Art. 42 UNDRIP).

Closing of the session 
The Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) is a UN technical advisory body that studies and makes recommendations to improve governance and public administration structures and processes for development. It assists ECOSOC by reviewing trends, issues and priorities in public administration, notably in relation to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in support of the implementation and progress reviews of the SDGs.
The Committee of Experts on Public Administration will hold its twenty-third session (CEPA23) at UN Headquarters in New York from 15 to 19 April 2024. The theme is "New governance insights to advance the SDGs and eradicate poverty".

(Part 3-B) ECOSOC Youth Forum 2024 - Youth perspectives on regional development (Arab States Region, The Caribbean).
Breakout sessions with Government officials and youth leaders  The regional breakout sessions will help identify the development needs for youth at the regional level and consider how best to articulate and mainstream them in the context of achieving the SDGs. These sessions may build on the outcomes of youth consultations, fora, and other forms of youth engagement as part of the regional SDG review processes hosted by the various UN Regional Commissions.

The Forum provides a global platform for dialogue among Member States and young leaders from around the world on solutions to challenges affecting youth wellbeing. It also serves as a unique space for young people to share their vision and actions as well as provide an opportunity to advance youth solutions to accelerate  the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
The three-day event will feature plenary sessions, interactive thematic and regionally-based discussions, and provide an opportunity for a rich exchange of views and ideas on innovative solutions to issues of relevance to young people on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
