Secret Santa Hardenshipping
This is my SS gift for the Hardenshipping 2017 Secret Santa.
One of the prompt’s was Maxie being embarrassed by Archie complimenting him. So I used that one and I hope you like it!!!
@bes-ang-lala was my SS.
@pokemonshitposts  Thank you for letting me participate ^^
Golden light pours in from the window setting fiery red hair aglow. Glasses tipped slightly down a slender nose, the mans eyes trained on the newspaper grasped lightly in one hand. The other cradling what Archie could only assume was the others fifth cup of coffee this morning. Archie’s gaze flickers back up to Maxie’s face the pale skin of his cheeks broken up only by a cute spattering of freckles across them and his nose.  Archie grins from his spot in the doorway where he makes his way to lean against the counter on the opposite side of the red head. The man in question is so trained on the paper that he doesn’t seem to register Archie’s arrival.
“Have you ever seen such a beautiful view that it’s breathtaking?” Archie smirks when Maxie startles at the sudden voice, skewing his glasses he’s wearing.
“Archie, please don’t scare me like that. I about had a heart attack and what’s this about a breathtaking view?” Maxie questions genuinely confused.
“I’m talking about the view right here in front of me.” Archie replies without skipping a beat. A lazy smirk making its way onto his face as he sees Maxie’s face flush with a tinge of pink. Maxie huffs and busies himself with straightening his glasses back to their original place.
“Archie, your ridiculous there’s nothing breathtaking about being disheveled with bed head and still in my pjs,” Maxie responds curtly trying to go back to his paper.
“What’s not breathtaking about seeing the man I love with a halo of sunshine around him, glowin like he’s an angel dropped from the sky.” Archie leans closer to Maxie from across the counter. Maxie instinctively pulls the paper up higher trying to hide his now rosy red cheeks.
“What, what has gotten into you this morning Archie?” Maxie stutters.
“Nothin’s gotten into me. I’m just tryin to compliment the love of my life. Is that such a crime? If so, arrest me now Maxie.” Archie’s toothy smirk only grows as Maxie tries harder to hide behind his papers. Archie smoothly reaches over, slowly lowering the papers down to look at Maxie.
“Archie, please, stop this nonsense…” Maxie stutters a bit more when their eyes meet once more. The redhead glances away, desperately trying to hide his flustered expression underneath his long locks of brilliant red hair. Archie takes the chance and leans closer then before, sweeping Maxie’s soft strands out of his face and cupping Maxie’s warm cheeks.
“Stop tryin’ to hide that handsome face from me Maxie. I want to look straight into those eyes that are filled with fiery determination. I want to tell you how much I love your soft hair and how it sweeps down like cascading lava.” Archie gently twirls a strand of said hair in his fingers as he speaks. Maxie can feel his heartbeat quicken as Archie’s words flow off of his tongue and into Maxie’s slowly burning ears as the embarrassment spreads like a wildfire throughout his body.
“Or how much I love your witty and sassy remarks. I love watching when you get passionate about something, the way your face lights up, and I especially,” Archie leans in close, breath gently ghosting against Maxie’s whose heart has, started hammering against his chest  as he gazes up at Archie intently. “I especially love the face you make when I compliment you and you get all cute and embarrassed like this.” Archie finishes laughing faintly, sputtering slightly, Maxie recoils back from the tan man slapping the newspaper onto the counter. Then sliding out of the chair, he clears his throat loudly and stalks over to the counter to put his coffee mug away, with his back facing Archie.
“That’s, quite enough of your shenanigans for today Archie.” Maxie chokes out finally back still turned to the taller man though it isn’t enough to cover his bright red ears and clearly flustered tone.
Archie takes the chance to hug his husband from behind, the smile clear in his tone. “I love you too, Maxie.” He whispers leaning in giving the shorter man’s lips a delicate kiss.

On The 12th Day Of Christmas My True Love Gave To Me... An Aron Stuck In A Christmas Tree?
Happy Christmas @daigotsuwabukiis!!!  I’m your originshipping secret santa!!! You wanted some cute fluffy stuff so I hope this fic of Steven’s Aron getting stuck in a Christmas tree is okay?
Also a massive thanks to @pokemonshitposts for organising this whole thing! ^.^
“Steven, love?” Wallace called out to his partner even before he set both feet inside the doorframe of their cosy home in Sootopolis.
“Mhmm?” the man in question hummed from the sofa, still engrossed in some sort of research he was currently doing.
“Aron is stuck in the Christmas tree… again” he informed him, letting out an exasperated sigh as he rubbed his temples,
“You’re joking, right?” Steven asked, shutting the lid of his laptop and paying full attention to Wallace who simply shook his head in response. He thought the small pokémon would have learnt his lesson after last year when a similar incident happened in Mossdeep, but obviously not.  Aron had an insatiable appetite for all things metal, and much like the couple’s tree in their cottage in Mossdeep, he saw all of the colourful decorations that adorned the festive plant as pretty-looking, tasty snacks that he simply just couldn’t resist, much like the way his own master reacted when Wallace would bring home cakes for the two of them after a long day of work or afternoons roaming around in caves.
The tiny iron-armour companion in question was currently regretting following his stomach as opposed to his brain, which remembered the Mossdeep incident and recalled how much of a bad idea attempting to eat the Christmas decorations the first time was. This particular situation was ten times worse as the tree he was currently stuck in was the great tree that AZ, the giant travelling man from Kalos had donated to Sootopolis. Wallace, being the city’s gym leader and the protector of the Cave of Origin was also responsible for decorating and maintaining this tree throughout the festive season- thus the couple never really bothered with their own when they spent the holidays in Wallace’s hometown. The tree itself had been lovingly decorated with sapphire blue fairy lights, ruby red baubles and glittering emerald tinsel by the two of them. A glittering gold Jirachi, which was Aron’s main motivation for climbing the giant pine, sat at the top of the tree.
Wallace would usually check on the tree on the way home from his gym, and on that particular night he heard faint, familiar cries and looked up, seeing the quaking steel-type that belonged to his boyfriend residing on the lowest branches of the tree, whilst tears from his sky-blue eyes were staring to pool.
Aron was still frozen in the same spot as Wallace returned with the pokmon’s beloved trainer just as he promised him when he first found him up there. It took all of his willpower not to start crying hysterically from the moment he realised he was stuck up there and didn’t know how to get himself down again. He decided against it in case the movement caused him to fall from the branch that he was stood on. To make matters worse he didn’t even get close at all to the Jirachi tree topper that he wanted to eat so much.
“Aron… Aron!! It’s okay, we’re here…I’m here…  we’ll get you down don’t worry” Steven panted, trying to regain his breath after running as fast as he possibly could towards the great tree from their home, Aron crying out for it’s trainer in response to finally seeing him there.
“Wait…  we??” Wallace questioned and raised an eyebrow. “He’s your partner… plus you got Aron out just fine last time using Metagross.” “My pokémon know not to go climbing festive public centrepieces in an attempt to eat the decorations” he spoke bluntly and placed his hands on his hips.
“Wallace, please” Steven pleaded. “It is Christmas after all.” His eyes seemed to turn wider and more glossy. Similar to the Aron in question that was stuck whenever he begged the couple for anything at home. “Metagross can’t float that high up” he told him as he pointed to the branch where Aron was stuck. “So I’m going to need your help. Please. You remember the promise you made to me in Ever Grande after all.”
“I will do this thing that you wish” he sighed. His words were laced with sarcasm as he rolled his eyes.  “I’m only bowing down to this particular pampered heir because I love him” he reminded Steven as he turned to face him.
“And I love you” Steven murmured softly before giving the Sootopolitan a chaste kiss on the lips, Steven knew he had the other wrapped around his little finger no matter what he did.. “I need you to get closer to the tree and crouch down so I can get on top of you.” He spoke more seriously this time, focusing on the situation at hand.
“Wait!!! What??” Wallace spluttered as he felt his cheeks heat up somewhat.
“So I can sit on your shoulders” Steven re-phrased. “We should be tall enough to be able to reach him if we do that,” he instructed as the two of them walked closer towards the trunk of the tree.  “Oh Wallace, lets hurry, he’s crying” Steven whimpered, feeling a pang of pain in his stomach as he became filled with guilt, if he wasn’t so focused on his work maybe this wouldn’t have happened. “I’d suggest using the cherry picker we had to decorate the tree in the first place, but it’s awfully dark and I don’t think either of us could wait any longer than we need to, to actually get him down” the champion rambled in a futile attempt to quell the awfulness he felt for actually letting this happen to his Aron for the second year in a row over the festive season.
“Honestly… the things I do for you” Wallace sighed and shook his head as he lowered himself so that Steven was actually able to sit on his shoulders. “Ahhhhhh watch your feet Steven!” he gasped as he did his best to stifle several curse words that Master Juan would describe as being not graceful at all whilst Steven accidently kicked him in the collarbones.
“Oh Arceus I’m so sorry!!” Steven stammered as he tried to gain his balance on top of his boyfriend’s shoulders.
“You owe me a massage when we’re home” came the reply from below him... “Can you reach Aron?”
“Y-yeah I think? Come here Aron, I’ve got you” Steven cooed as reassuringly as he possibly could whilst he stretched his arms out to reach the pokémon and tried his best to balance and not topple over on Wallace’s shoulders. “Got him!”
“I’m glad to hear it” Wallace let out a sigh of relief as he gently crouched down so that Steven and the now-rescued Aron could get off of his shoulders as soon as possible.
“Steven?” He asked gently, linking the other’s arm in his once he’d put Aron back down on the ground.
“Yeah?”
“Lets go home.” Wallace suggested, receiving a nod of agreement from the other who was now nestled into him- the rush of adrenaline fading and him now being hyper-aware of how cold it actually was outside. Aron looked up at the pair, used to the way they went all gooey around each other still even after all these years.
“Steven?”
“Mhmm?” he murmured as they strolled home, Aron now happily trotting in front of the two of them.
“I was being serious about that massage.”

hi everyone!!! this is guccimetti over on cer writing blog!!! my secret santa this year was @astral-clefairy who wanted some hardenshipping w/ may as their daughter and also manaphy with the family. i hope you like what i did with this--it’s kind of like a mini study of this little family’s interaction with legendary pokemon over the years @pokemonshitposts
Once upon a time, a young boy and his friend came across a Pokémon awakened out of their millennium slumber. They were awakened, luckily for the pair of friends, on a Friday evening, after school, to stay until the next one.
“I’ve heard about Jirachi before,” the boy said, the little Pokémon easily floating around his and his friend’s heads. He had always been interested in Hoenn’s legendaries, ever since his father had told him the story of Kyogre and Groudon. “Jirachi grants wishes!”
“Yes! Wishes!” the little Pokémon said.
“No way!” the boy’s friend said, furrowing her brow, “Jirachi, I wish for that plushie I saw last week that my mom wouldn’t get me.”
“Plushie…” the Pokémon said.  The little Pokémon glowed and touched a hand to the boy’s friend’s forehead. “Plushie,” the Pokémon said, more certain, and the very same Azurill plushie she had so fervently stomped her feet over appeared in her arms. She and the boy shared wide, matching grins.
-
The two lollipops, wedged into each hollow of the boy’s friend’s cheeks, made a loud pop as she simultaneously pulled them from her mouth. “Jirachi looks sleepy,” she said, “how long did you say they’d stick around for?”
“A week,” the boy replied. It was the next Friday, after school, the sun beginning to set on the horizon.
“Last wish!” the little Pokémon said gleefully but with a yawn.
The boy’s friend shot him a frantic look as if to say, You do it—that’s too much pressure for me! The little Pokémon, seeming to pick up on the silent conversation’s cues, floated into the boy’s arms. “Last wish, Archie! What is your last wish?”
What was there left to wish for, the boy wondered. It seemed he had everything he wanted—candy, all the latest toys, posters of Kyogre, a waterbed. He resolved to wish for something he might want in the future, then. He took a deep breath in through his nose.
“Jirachi, I wish that someday I’ll meet someone special. Someone really special.”
The Pokémon smiled. “Are you sure you want just one?” they asked, but before the boy could answer, the Pokémon glowed and fell back into their deep, deep sleep. The boy and his friend were silent for a time, watching the Pokémon sleep.
Then, “Hey! Am I not special?”
-
When May goes running off in the wildly oscillating flashes of skin-pummeling rain and brain-evaporating sunlight, sneakers slapping against wet and dry stone as she calls her Swellow out, both Archie and Maxie let out a shout of protest. May is gone, though, off to clean up her fathers’ messes, but of course, said fathers don’t know that. Archie’s legs shake so badly that he drops down to his knees, and Maxie immediately starts screaming at everyone around them to do something—can’t they see that their daughter, their ten-year-old daughter, has just vanished in the middle of this catastrophe? Archie starts to gasp for air and dry heave against the ground, and Maxie kneels down next to him to rub his back and cry.
Meanwhile, in the sky, May is wiping away her own tears. The way her dads had both yelled at her—in interest of her safety, but still—had gotten her thinking about yelling, about the interactions he’d seen between Archie and Maxie while they’d been separated. She gets out her PokéNav.
“Wallace,” May says, still sniffling a bit.
“May! What are you doing? Your dads are really worried about you.” Wallace tries to keep his voice loud enough to hear over the weather but low enough so that he doesn’t have any former Team Aqua or Team Magma leaders breathing down his neck asking about their daughter.
“Do you know…” and now her sniffles pick up as she thinks about the gravity of the situation, “do you know what to…what to do?” She pauses briefly. “I’m scared,” she adds quietly.
“I have an idea,” Wallace says, and as he talks, May steers her Swellow towards the Sky Pillar.
-
Rayquaza lies calm when May approaches them. She takes a deep breath, puffs out her chest (Sometimes you’ve just gotta be tough, baby girl. It’s not fun, and it’s usually not right, but sometimes, you have to. Hopefully, it’s not too often, though, sweetie, Archie had said to her once), and walks forward. Rayquaza tilts their head at her. They radiate an energy of presence ascended; it’s as if Rayquaza knows everything about the world, everything about May, everything about Groudon and Kyogre fighting and May’s dads doing just the same not long before. Rayquaza is…waiting, May realizes. She feels oddly comforted and calmer than she has the entire day.
“Rayquaza,” she begins, and her voice is steady, “please help us. Please help our world.” Rayquaza breathes a puff of warm air against May’s skin, and she takes it as encouragement. Rayquaza likes her, she’s coming to realize. “It was my dads,” May admits, nodding a bit to herself. It doesn’t hurt to say—it doesn’t make her want to cry like it did. It feels nice to say everything out loud. “Don’t get them wrong: they both love the Earth. They just…love the Earth differently, and I think that was their problem. But I don’t really know what made them think this was a good idea, and I tried to stop them, but…” May takes a deep breath, “they’ve awakened Kyogre and Groudon, and they’ve realized now how bad of a mistake they’ve both made. Don’t begrudge them for that, Rayquaza. I just ask that you help us because what’s happening right now with Kyogre and Groudon…it’s scary. I don’t know what’s gonna happen to…to our home, Rayquaza.”
Rayquaza stares for a moment at May. She stares back. Rayquaza breathes another puff of hot air against May’s skin, lets out a cry, and flies up out of the Sky Pillar. May gives herself a moment to breathe and then runs down the stairs.
-
“What’s happening?” Archie asks, now standing, he and Maxie both supporting portions of the other’s weight. The sky is clearing.
“Rayquaza listened to May, I suppose,” Wallace says with a smile.
“Rayquaza?” Maxie barks out.
After Groudon and Kyogre have gone back into their caves and into their sleep, Rayquaza takes off into the sky again. They come back to Sootopolis City with May on their back.
That’s when Archie and Maxie know.
-
Two years later, when May comes back from an adventure with the legendary Pokémon Manaphy nestled into her arms, given everything, it isn’t really much of a surprise to Archie and Maxie. After the fact, at least.
“So, Dads,” May says quietly, mindful of Manaphy, once she reaches them in the living room, “don’t freak out.”
Archie and Maxie stare at her for a bit then look at each other. They like to think they live a nice, calm life in Alola, away from the mistakes of their past. But, of course, Tapu Koko had flown over from the Ruins of Conflict to greet May nearly the moment they’d come to Alola, and Rayquaza sometimes still crosses the oceans to come and visit her. What is there to do?
Archie is the first to set down his book. “Well, you know my policy. Water type Pokémon are always welcome in my house.”
“And because this is our house,” Maxie adds, “all Pokémon are always welcome.”
Archie looks over at Maxie, affronted. “I can’t even ruffle your father’s feathers anymore, May!”
She laughs and shifts Manaphy a bit in her arms. Manaphy sneezes, and water goes all across the floor.
“I’ll get paper towels,” May says.
-
The sound of May’s laughter and loud splashes ring out through the air, creating a warmth in Archie and Maxie’s chests along with that of the warm Alola breeze. “Manaphy!” May yells, and Manaphy jumps high above them to jump back down and splash her yet again. May squeals with laughter, and Archie squeezes Maxie’s hand tighter, that never-ending warmth spreading yet again.
Archie and Maxie are sitting on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and the sun shines brilliantly on May and Manaphy as they play. “Sometimes,” Maxie says, and when Archie glances over at him, he still feels the urge to giggle at his giant straw hat, “I feel that we don’t deserve this.” From below the cliff, May clings to a beachball, and Manaphy propels them along.
“Maybe we don’t, Max,” Archie responds, “but I like to think we’re good people despite it all.”
A giant bubble floats up to the cliff, then another. Archie and Maxie look down to see Manaphy blowing larger and larger bubbles while May laughs and claps. They love days like this: when May doesn’t have to be the girl who saved Hoenn or one of the strongest trainers in Alola and can just be a 12-year-old girl instead. Archie gently nudges Maxie with his elbow. “Come on, let’s go swim.” Maxie groans but takes the hand Archie offers to him.
When they swim out to May and Manaphy, all four of them brighten up. And if a few other ancient, legendary Pokémon smile a bit, wherever they are in the world, in whatever state of consciousness, that just makes sense, doesn’t it?
