I kind of hate all the comparisons between kipperlily and like. Those fuckass "affirmative action fucks me over I wish I was [minority] so it would be easier" people because none of that. Is what she said. She said the bad kids already had more experience with adventuring before they got to augefort and it meant they had an advantage. Which is true. Yeah Riz was lower-class but his mum was a COP. Riz, Kristen and Fig had parents who were heroes (Sandra-Lynn is an active ranger, Kristen's parents are paladins, Sklonda is a rogue), Adaine's family was super rich and politically influential, Fabian had both. Gorgug's the only one who wasn't actively at an advantage [IN THE CONTEXT OF HAVING PRIOR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HEROISM] and she didn't have shit to say about him. Kipperlily was the first person in her family to try heroism, the bad kids are largely legacy admissions.
Additionally to the people comparing it to the "anti-affirmative action" crowd: do you know what affirmative action is. The bad kids didn't receive special consideration on their admissions to aguefort or scholarships or additional financial support or extended assessment times or anything. How could she be mad about affirmative action if none of these people received affirmative action. What they DID have was knowledge about their classes that started much earlier than high school, which is what Kipperlily said in her file that she thought grading should be adjusted for because she did not have that.
To me it's less like affirmative action and more like augefort is like an IQ test. They pretend that it's fair and objective, but you can be taught how to do those things from a younger age, and if your parents took the time to teach you pattern recognition and shit then you'll do better on an IQ test than someone who wasn't trained for it and everyone will act like that makes you innately smarter when it doesn't. It just means someone taught you how to do that earlier.
Barring Gorgug, every one of the bad kids had access to information about heroism and their class at a younger age than Kipperlily did, which primed them for success in their classes. Every one of them got additional information about mysteries from their families (and even direct battle-tactics training from Bill), Riz especially with getting classified info out of his mum. Kipperlily does not have hero relatives. She's the first in her family line to attend a hero school. She knew nothing about it before her first day, meanwhile Kristen was already the chosen of Helio, Adaine had already been attending the best wizard school in the country, Fabian had already spent his whole life training with his father, and Riz was already involved in solving mysteries using info and tactics he got from his parents.
They aren't necessarily "privileged" (except Fabian and Adaine), but Kipperlily didn't say they were, she said that in the specific context of attending a hero school they had a prior-knowledge advantage. Saying they didn't is like comparing the grades of a kid who's academic career started with preschool with a kid who didn't attend until middle school and acting like one of them wasn't better prepared.

now a dnd party with a strong bond and synergy is great and all and i'm confident that my party will get there but as of right now only about 5-6 sessions in we've had multiple shouting fights, countless threats, and one instance of pvp. now. i hope this changes. me and one guy are sort of working to fix that. but it's so fun don't discount the joys of you and your friends pretending to hate each other

I just know Barbara Gordon’s pet growing up would have been two gold fish that her uncle Jim got her.
she would get SO annoyed anytime jim messes up and calls one fish the other's name too...
(also, he tries his hardest to tell them apart, really, but also just... its two goldfish. what the hell do you mean ‘you can just tell’??)

I know I talk a lot about Helob and Sozo but I’ll be damned if I don’t have thoughts about Ratau, Narinder and the Fox too-
Oh and Plimbo.. but honestly in his case I’m just rotating him in my brain trying to figure out what the hell he is.

Wh??? The pomera dm 30 isn't even that??? Expensive?? What???? My laptop, which I mostly use to read tbh, cost me $500??????? Not a flex btw, at the time buying it was almost painful bc I didnt even have a job or steady income.
Sure, I got it for uni classes originally. But that's fucking irrelevant???? If I want to use it solely to read fanfics it's my own damn money???? Goddamn people will really complain about anything.
Anyways, enjoy your pomera!!! It looks like a lovely writing experience tbh!! I hope it helps you fall even more in love with writing!!! And I'm sure it was money well invested!
yeah, it really is not an outrageous purchase considering i use it to write almost every day! (not just fanfic either, but i don’t even know why anon had to mention that in a condescending way as if it would be a bad thing for me to use it solely for fic? it’s the same w your laptop. it’s your device and you can use it for what you want to use it for!!) but YEAH the pomera is something i budgeted for and i post about it because i think it’s a very useful device that helps me a lot with productivity and it’s fun to write on so i’m excited ab it u know! i don’t do it to brag i talk about it because i love it and i think it’s a great thing for writers. thank you for the nice message IT REALLY DOES do wonders for my writing i love it dearly!!! sending u love!!

How would Josuke react if he found out Rohan did actually use HD on Bean? 💀
RIP Rohan. I highly doubt Rohan would because that means admitting defeat. If he uses his stand, it means Bean got the best of him and he wouldn't be able sleep peacefully at night knowing that. "I'm no better than his cheat of a father." I'm not a huge Rohan fan but he's not an awful guy. He seems to know when it's appropriate to use his stand, usually if he feels like he might be in danger. Even if he called it out because Bean was giving him a hard time, I don't think he'd use it. For the sake of this ask though, let's say he did.
There are three things that Josuke as a father does not play about: his hair, his you, and his Bean. Rohan would get very close to being put on a t-shirt. When Josuke realizes (if Rohan is still at your house), he'd abruptly but politely ask you to take your kid to the nearby park for a few minutes. You see Josuke's eye twitch a certain way and you know not to ask anymore questions. Rage isn't even the word for what Josuke is feeling. Becoming an adult as well as a parent has really taught him how to reign in his temper. He doesn't want his son to see him beating anyone because violence isn't the answer lol. Josuke is dead silent until you guys pull out of the driveway and are down the street. You have to give it to Rohan. He tries. He really tries to talk his way out of it, but Josuke is far beyond reason. Josuke told him not to use his stand. He said he wouldn't. And he did it anyway. Rohan will spend months in the hospital and even longer in physical therapy. His bones will hurt whenever it rains. The doctors will tell him that's he's very lucky he doesn't have to spend the rest of his life eating solids through a straw. Josuke won't even bother healing him up either. Rohan never babysits Bean EVER AGAIN. Josuke doesn't care if people thinks he blew things out of proportion. Nobody lays a finger on his kid.

[trying to break the work bloger habbit]
anyway. the new turtle game (splintered fate) which is only on apple arcade (a travesty cause 1. i dont have apple product and 2. all turtles games should have physical releases cause oh boy the licensing) is kinda god tier. im not biased no trust me.
nah i just mean fits perfectly into these 2 turtles fans lives cause bro is playing and i can watch via screensharing stuff (good for my hands which i damage with gaming just. way too frequently and thats not a joke). any its like one of rogue-likes with the rng upgrades things. so even tho im not playing still fun to shoot the shit and debate you know crit hit increase vs elemental damage upgrade. whatever. this too is a vector for play.
and its got like a really fun mix of iteration traits? like i guess its idw comics based but it has vibes from a few of the shows too. very funny to unpick whats happening in that regard (one of the villains is THE MAYOR. very funny). and well its nice when theres a video game with all the various chatter and banter that IS ABOUT THE THING u like and think about all the time. wish everyone could have this experience honestly lol.
suprisingly will even hit on emotional themes and motifs too. lose to a boss get a pep talk from ur dad... hell yeah. the vas are doing good to great work (splinter is paul nakauchi who rules and is. notably. japenese american. also fucking sonic VA is raph)
not really a point to this post other that to say a thing that beens happening that i actually enjoy. hope one day they release it on a real platform,,, for a flat price not a subscription. without the phone quality crunching it would look really good... also maybe better ui. why do phone game menus look like that...
also ofc its a turtles game one of the damage types is ooze... thats just fun to say. ooze based build.
ahaha. posting this interuppted by my lunch and being told he finally got past another boss with a sick as shit build.... ARGH i wanna see it...
