Hey you guys! I wanted to do something for pride month but I’m not super artsy or open to doing writings explicitly for pride month right now so I decided to create some headcannon picrews for the sides!

As a note, the way I very most characters is extremely fluid and vague. I’ll generally be cool with any depictions of that character, but for these purposes I wanted to try out creating my own headcannons. This is all just for fun.

Alright on to the sides!

Logan:

For Logan, I headcannon him as being agender, using any pronouns, and on the aro-ace spectrum in some regard. Due to the limitations of each picrew, I used the greyace and greyaro flags for the badge and the ace and aro flags for the icon, but honestly I’m not sure if I feel one label fits him across the board. I feel like they’d be incredibly disconnected from the concept of gender and instead perhaps feel like nothing at all, hence being agender. As for being aro-ace spec, I might be projecting a bit, but honestly I think Logan’s views on how sex and romance work and their value correspond with how some aro-ace spec people feel, myself included. Of course, there’s a lot of comedy added in (the show IS a comedy after all, at least to some extent) but I don’t think it’s entirely unfounded based on the show.

Patton:

I headcannon Patton as a cis pansexual man! I know, he’s got the least stuff out of them all, but I guess my views of him are pretty simple. I do also like transmasc Patton a lot too, these just happen to have him as cis. I’m also trying to push my bear Patton agenda but the picrew doesn’t give the option for the dadbod so the facial hair will have to do. He is everyone’s father and will protect them with his heart and soul.

Roman:

Roman I headcannon as being bigender using he/she pronouns, asexual, and demiromantic. The sexuality and romantic attraction here are some I really like I think. Roman has these very theatrical and simplified views of what romance and relationships are like and to me it feels like he’s basing his ideals solely off of mainstream media because he has a lack of personal expirence in that department. Aro-spec Roman in particular is incredibly important to me because I think she would have this very complex relationship to romance due to desiring and searching for a romantic relationship just like a Disney movie only to find that she doesn’t feel that sort of attraction or feels it to some limited or conditional extent. Anyways, she’s very cool and I love him. (Also, small unrelated note, I think she’d definitely have a ton of scars which I hinted at by the just-barely-noticeable one on her eyebrow. He gets into a lot of dangerous situations and has the scars to prove it. Some are definitely from sparring/fighting with Remus lol)

Okay, so. Yancy baby. “Maybe I was distracted by the handsome and/or beautiful face of youses” is, to me, canonical confirmation that he’s multisexual of some flavor. Personally, I go with pan. 

He’s also trans. It’s why he killed his dad. His dad was outright transphobic and didn’t support Yancy’s transition at first, but then once he came around on it, he pushed the Toxic Masculinity agenda HARD. Part of why Yancy took on the accent was to distance himself from the kind of masculinity he saw in his father. (He also lashed out at his mom’s "coddling” of him around his transness- she was well aware of how shitty the world can be to trans people and wanted to protect her son. He still feels extreme guilt about that.)

He’s really embarrassed about the scars on his chest- he’s still working on unpacking all of the “real man” shit his dad gave him. It’s why he’s so muscular- to try to hide/distract from them. 

It’s kinda cute, though, that he’s so adamant that when I finally get top surgery, I should be proud of my scars and wear them without shame.

Definitely bi. Normally, you ask him a question and he goes on and on with so many facts your head’ll spin, but ask him about his bisexuality and his answer is always the same- “I’m bisexual. People are hot; I don’t care about their gender.” and that’s it that’s all he’ll say.

Gender is a whole other thing. He’s also nonbinary- he’s genderfluid, fluctuating between male and agender. Ask him about it, and he’ll go on a beautiful rant about how gender is a social construct and how nonbinary identities are as old as the concept of gender. On rough days, he’ll also throw in stuff about the erasure of AMAB enbies.

He wears that purple scarf of his on agender days. He still uses he/him pronouns all the time, he just likes being clear with where he’s at gender-wise.

A prominent family in my stake shared this story on their social media. I’m disgusted this was shared by people I know. And that living in a world that’s better for LGBT people would be interpreted as making victims of people who don’t agree that we should exist and have a life similar to theirs.

The link is to a mom responding to a tweet from Pete Buttigieg.

In the tweet, Buttigieg mentioned how people will push an agenda that will harm people while being polite to the face of the people who’ll be harmed. Tbh, that feels like a regular occurrence for LGBT individuals. 

Here’s the main points of the response, followed by a comment by me

1)  She says that Buttigieg is inferring that anyone who opposes same-sex marriage is out to harm his family.--Well, yes, that would be accurate, you legally rescind his marriage and it harms his family.

2)  She’s upset her 8th-grade student had to read the sentence “What is heteronormativity and how is it harmful?”--imo, that’s a darn good question! Something many heterosexuals rarely are even aware of. I’m guessing she can’t think of any situation where heteronormativity is a problem

3)  She’s unhappy that occasionally an “LGBT theme [will] find its way into history classes, foreign language studies, and even STEM courses.“--I guess she would like her student to be unaware that LGBT individuals exist.

4)  Her pediatrician asks to speak to the 14-year-old alone--I’m sure this is to ask about possible abuse and to get more honest answers about sexual activity than might happen if they had to answer in front of their parent.

5)  She’s opposed to sex education classes that include discussion about sexual activity beyond penis-into-vagina sex. She doesn’t want discussion of oral/anal sex, non-penetrative sex, pregnancy, contraception, abortion or even masturbation--I don’t think it’s a useful class without those topics

6)  Of course she is mad about libraries having story-hour with a drag queen and upset she and her toddler have to avoid the library during those time periods--the library is meant to serve the community, those other parents who bring children to story hour are also tax payers

7)  She does not like that young adult novels “ frequently feature an LGBT teen or gay couple”--once again, she wants complete erasure of a set of people so that her child is ignorant of their existence

8)  Her final outrage is for schools that recognize the preferred pronouns of students--she thinks this interferes with her rights as a parent, but doesn’t recognize that what she wants would interfere with the rights of other parents and the mental health of a vulnerable class of students. Again, erasure is her aim

9)  She presents all these things are proof that she, as a mother, is being discriminated against. She demands tolerance from Pete Buttigieg for her intolerance of LGBT people.

10)  Then she throws in a whole bit about the breakdown of marriage and how gay couples getting babies is unnatural. She talks about IVF and surrogate pregnancies, I guess she’s fine with these things as long as it’s straight couples.

11)  She ends by saying that actually, she is the victim. Anyone who wants a child to be raised by anyone other than “ married, stable, biological parents.” is pushing a dangerous agenda--Surely she isn’t against foster parents and adoptions. Unfortunately, there are many reasons that children cannot be raised by their biological parents. Not everyone is in the stable life she speaks of, we don’t live in an ideal world. And I have news for her, things taught in the sex-ed class she opposes could actually help lessen the amount of children born to situations she finds troublesome.
