Accident, Coincidence or a miracle.

Mikey didn't know which one would be the most appropriate word for this situation. For him, this was just a game. This meeting wasn't in his schedule. His schedule was full of trying out new things with his beautiful wife, y/n.

Context: You wanted hide away from your love-crazy classmates for a while so you went up the top of the roof it was all quiet until you heard a giggle

Denki said with a mixed of venom and rage in his throat but continued "and borrowed your spell book for a while and made this" From behind his hand was a glowing light blue potion swirling around in his hand while he played with it you were shocked but relieved at the same time you were glad but something was off about it "W-wow Denki that's great now we can turn u and the other ba-" as you said while trying to reach the bottle reaching for the potion but Denki snatched it away from you with a playful yet sly smirk and his grin grew even wider "oh I would but in one occasion..you gonna have to be mine!" your stomach dropped when you heard those words "Wdym by that..." Denki giggled a bit "That means you're gonna be with me silly you're gonna be mine forever and ever and ever!" Denki kept rambling on about his fantasy your anger began to rise even more until you were able to speak up

"Is this some sort of joke..." "DENKI NO-" you lunged out trying to get the bottle but it was too late the the liquid spilling across the floor mixing with broken glass pieces in anger you lunged at denki using your vine spell to bound him he let out a pain grunt he let out a electric shock causing you and the plant getting electrocuted as well your body ached and burned all over causing you to stumble around but it wasn't enough to keep you down you ran up to him he tried to shoot electric bolts on your hands that you barely dodge the last one you dodge the bolt by jumping and in mid air you roundhouse kicked him him the face

Denki stumbles back a bit stunned clutching his nose while trying to focus But felt a kick in his abdomen he let a choked "ack!" and fell to the ground you grabbed your wand and aimed it at Denki and without thinking you sprouted out the spell you could think of a m/c like a beam shoots out hitting Denki all you could see was white after a few second you opened your eyes checking to see if anything was damaged but all you saw was denki lying on the floor unconscious

Your eyes widen when you realize what you have just done "oh god...DENKI!?" despise being mad at him your intention wasn't to try to kill him You shook him a few times and his eyes slowly began to open "Y-yn?" he managed to stuttered out "why are we on this Roof and-" he saw you have burns all over your hands and legs "oh god what happened did I overused my quirk did we fight a villain and i accidentally hit you?!" you were you were confused for a moment for a moment questioning why he was acting like nothing was wrong when it you remember your own spell that you hit on denki

Hi!!! Look at me! I’m writing an unofficial req lol. People seemed to literally eat this shit up and I got two reqs asking for a different ending so here’s the good ending! I’ll be tagging the two who asked for a different ending. If anyone asks for a different ending on any of my fics I suggest making it an official request so I’ll remember it better.

I wrote this on docs and it was my first time writing fanfic on docs (crazy, I know). And lemme tell you…this fic literally doubled in length. It went from 5 pages to 10. I also suggest going back and reading the whole fic if you’re coming from the bad one bcc I edited the wording to make it more understandable and easy to read.

It had gotten bad.

Really. Really. Bad.

Your dad never seemed to notice the underlying problem. Only that you were out late and that your grades had slipped.

Dad was “working overtime” again. He never told you what he was actually doing, but it was clear he was doing something else with his time.

So here you were again. Standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom, hunched over the sink. You glanced at the cup of cheap whiskey you’d been sipping on for most of the night. Sighing, you fished the bottle of benzos out of your pocket and fumbled with the cap.

You shook several onto your palm and set the bottle onto the kitchen sink. You thumbed the pills around in your hand. With another sigh, you raised your head into your mouth and tossed your head back.

You grabbed the cup and downed the last of it.

“Dear God.” You mumbled to yourself as you put the cap back on and wiped your face.

You sluggishly made your way to the couch and collapsed on top of it.

‘Fuck, I’m tired.’ You thought as you tried to get comfortable.

You took a deep breath. Well, you tried to. Suddenly you became aware of how heavy every part of your body felt. With as much strength as you could muster you flopped onto your back. You felt like a fish out of water, desperately trying to get air to your lungs.

Tears filled your eyes with the realization you couldn’t breathe. You tried to move your arms, move your legs, do something. You couldn’t.

You felt your eyelids grow heavy and as you went to take your last breath you had one final thought.

‘I never got to say bye to dad.’

Matt never considered himself a very emotional man. Sure, some things certainly affected him; Foggy, Frank, his son.

He smiled to himself at the thought of his son. He was his pride and enjoy. He may be going through a rough patch but Matt knew his son would make it through.

‘Murdock’s can take a beating.’ His father’s words echoed through his head.

‘Wonder what he’s up to tonight.’ Matt thought to himself.

He focused his listening on trying and finding his son’s heartbeat. His smile faded slightly as he heard the elevated heartbeat of his son.

‘He probably just went on a run or something.’ His mind supplied.

He listened closer. His son’s heartbeat was settling down.

Matt let out a sigh he didn’t know he was holding in. Something didn’t feel right; his heart kept slowing down.

Ba..dum…Ba..dum…Ba..dum…Ba..dum…

Matt blinked desperately trying to strain his ears. His heart kept slowing.

‘No. No no no no no no no. NO.”

Matt leaped up from his seat and ran out of his office door.

Ba…dum…..Ba…dum…..Ba…dum…..

Matt hadn’t realized he was crying until his tears hit his lips.

‘No, please God. Please.’

His shoes slapped the concrete as he sped up the pace. He climbed a wall to get to the roof; he needed to get there faster.

…ba….dum…….ba….dum…….ba….dum…….

‘Fuck. Please please, please. Hold on a little longer.’

He jumped from roof to roof, desperate to reach you.

…ba…..dum……………………….

Matt stopped so suddenly he nearly toppled over. He gasped and clutched his chest, he willed himself forward.

‘There’s still hope. He’s not gone. Not yet.’

He jumped to the apartment window and opened it while holding onto the ledge. In desperation, Matt broke the window to get in and stumbled over to kneel by you on the couch.

His hands raced over your chest, resting on your face as he shook you.

“Wake up, Kid! Wake the hell up!” He pleaded.

He moved his hands to your chest and began doing CPR.

“No no no, please please-” his voice broke and he let out a sob “please fight! Fight it, kid! PLEASE!”

Then he heard it; the faintest beat of a heart. He kept doing it with his left hand as he dialed 911 with his right. An operator answered.

“911 what’s your emergency–?”

“My son! His heart is barely beating! I need an ambulance now!” Matt yelled as he put the phone on speaker and resumed CPR.

“Sir, I need you to calm down. What’s your name?” The operator asked calmly.

“Matt Murdock!” He unintentionally shouted.

“Ok sir, we’re sending over an ambulance now.”

74 hours. 47 hours in emergency care and 27 in the hospital; not once did your father leave your side.

Someone new came to visit every day. First, it was Foggy, then Karen, then Frank. All of them encouraged him to go home and sleep and offered to stay the night for him, even though they knew he wouldn't. He slept in the chairs, if he slept at all. Matt wasn’t ashamed to cry. He cried more in those 74 hours than he had in his life put together. He prayed too. It was more like screaming at God, but if that made him listen, then goddammit, Matt would scream till his lungs bled.

He felt a lot of things: fear, anxiety, worry. The thing he felt above all was guilt. How could he not see the signs? Why couldn’t he have done something?

Matt snapped out of his thoughts when he heard you shift in your bed. You let out a noise of discomfort as your eyes barely opened. Then you saw your dad; your eyes watered. Your dad was here. You were safe.

Matt shot out of his chair and felt around till he grasped your hand and held it tightly in his. He turned and yelled toward the door.

“We need a nurse in here!” His voice was hoarse but loud.

Within a minute a nurse was at your side.

“What is your last name.” The nurse questioned.

You took a large gasp of air.

“Murdock.”

“Can you tell me what month it is?” They

You swallowed and worked on forming the syllables; it felt like a cheese grater in your throat.

“November.” You croaked out.

“Ok, good. Do you know where you are?” They asked.

You nodded.

“The hospital.” You gulped through the ventilator.

“His level is consciousness is a 5. We’ll have to run a few more tests on him before he’s deemed fit for discharge.” The nurse informed Matt.

Matt visibly lit up and relaxed into his seat. You were ok, you were going to be ok. The nurse helped remove the ventilator from your face and left the room.

“Dad, I'm sorry–” Your father cut you off before you could get any more words out.

“No, I'm sorry. I pushed too hard and didn’t notice you were drowning.” His voice was cracking. “Just, tell me next time, ok?”

You nodded before bursting into tears.

“O-ok…it’s just that you’re so busy all the time and you have some much stress already I thought it’d be better to just keep it a secret. I didn’t mean to overdose, I swear.” You sobbed.

Matt took a sharp breath.

“Let’s make an agreement,” Tears were streaming down his face too. “no more secrets.”

You quickly nodded.

“No more secrets.”

“Can you tell me what you do every night? I know you’re not working overtime.” You stared at him, he didn’t have his glasses on.

He was clearly contemplating whether or not he should tell you.

You nodded slowly. Your father sighed before leaning over to whisper in your ear while bringing his hand to prevent anyone from being able to read his lips.

“I’m Daredevil.” He said quickly before sitting back in his chair.

You stopped. Gears started turning in your mind.

‘There’s no way, right?’

“B-but–” You cut yourself off with a sharp laugh “you’re literally blind!”

“Shh! Cameras,” Matt scolded lightly.

You looked around the room.

‘How’d he know there were cameras?’

You blinked rapidly trying to piece together your dad being a vigilante.

‘That would explain all the injuries.’

“Huh.” Was all you could muster as you processed this information.

Matt was biting the nail on his thumb with anxiety.

“Wait! But you're like 80!” You exclaimed jokingly.

Matt huffed out a laugh.

“I’ll have you know I’m only 35.” He smiled.

“Same thing, practically got one foot in the grave.” You giggled.

Matt rolled his eyes and ruffled your hair. You grinned and for the first time in a while, you felt genuinely ok.

Bing had to squirm; how could he not? Being sandwiched between the armrest of the sofa and Eric’s body made it hard to get comfortable.

Oliver was seated in the large Google’s lap while Eric fussed over the yellow’s fluffy hair in an attempt to tame it. Between the warmth and gentle touches, Oliver was beginning to doze off, amber eyes snapping open each time they drooped as he fought himself. Fidgeting, Bing shoved his hands in his hoodie pocket to play with his fingers to himself. Ivan’s glance from the floor — he was seated there between Eric’s left knee and Bing’s right, leaning into the orange droid — made Bing pause. His lips pursed before he dragged his teeth against his lower upon Ivan’s raising an eyebrow at him. A silent question: ‘you good?’

How does he answer that? No one was talking. Why was he here? Minutes before, Eric had picked him up like he was nothing and then placed him next to Oliver. Now they were here. Why? Blue had–

Blue.

As thunder shook the house again, Bing leaned forward, not turning his head but shifting his eyes to be discreet in looking over at the eldest Google who sat at Eric’s right. His posture was straight, not resting against the sofa as his head was turned away to face the window to study the weather.

> Bing messaged: hey what was ur hypothesis

Blue’s head shifted ever so slightly in his direction — only just enough that Bing could see the edge of his eyebrow. The Google then settled back into his position of being turned away.

Bing’s face twisted into a scowl of bemusement. None of that explained why he was here.

Surprised, the orange bot glanced up, gaze meeting blue eyes that danced with turquoise flecks. Bing’s fans clicked on.

> OG-G-dog messaged: Eric is a Guardian Unit. He is meant to take care of others. He cannot help himself sometimes. Stressful situations cause him to herd loved ones.

Bing broke eye contact with Blue, looking at Eric who now stared fretfully out the window as Oliver rested in his embrace. In a testing manner, Bing nudged his arm to begin to move it around himself. The red Google looked over before quickly wrapping the arm around Bing and pulling him in closely.

Also, since I mostly deleted my OG post of Trazuil (I didn't like it so I wanted to remake it) I might as well dump all my info about xem right here on this ask. And heads up, there's mentions of violence and abuse up ahead in this post btw:

-to start off, Trazuil is a AMAB nonbinary person (he/him and xe/xem), he is also an arospec gay

-Xer autistic, borderline (like me), have PTSD, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, gender dysphoria, is a selective mute and also has ASPD

-He's a slasher (a killer who mutilates/kills people with knives, blades, chainsaws, etc; just wanting to save you the google search of the definition of a slasher)

-OG idea was that Trazuil was mostly going to be Nigerian; but I was also leaning that he would be Afro-Latine instead, so I went ahead and made him both afro-latine AND nigerian. He would be VERY fluent in both Spanish and Swahili.

-I was struggling a bit for this one, because I couldn't find a good VA that would fit Trazuil, so given that, my choice would have to be Joel Perez (aka, Valentino's VA from Hazbin Hotel). Of course, Trazuil wouldn't be acting like Valentino because there is a HUGE difference between the two. One is, of course, Valentino is an abusive rapist pimp while as Trazuil is a slasher with a dark past. Oh, and Trazuil would absolutely OBLITERATE Valentino when you put them in an room for an hour and half an hour in you'll be hearing Val's screams and his insides just PAINTED the entire room.

-Personality wise, he would be a mixed of Shadow the Hedgehog and Spawn from Todd McFarlane's comics. He would also be a bit of a foodie like Hannibal Lecter.

-Another difference would be between Val and Trazuil xemself would be that Val most likely has killed innocent people (cuz it was mentioned that Valentino in Episode 4 has killed past sex workers/employees of his that didn't do a good job before and/or during when Angel Dust arrived in Hell). Trazuil, on the other hand, is basically like Dexter Morgan; he mostly killed people that were murderers, abusers and rapists since he still has moral values and also because he was a victim himself. He only has killed a few innocent people only because they were pissing xem off.

-Going back, he would often times keep the flesh of his victims for meals. Like being said before, he's a bit of a foodie like Hannibal, always finding creative ways to upgrade his meal. Sometimes, when the kill is slow he'll just hunt animal meat as a substitute.

-He wears mostly long-sleeved or any long clothing to cover his body because of the scars he has all over xer body. Xe's insecure the most about them since they were a reminder of the way he was abused--hence his gender + body dysphoria

-Mentioning, he was mostly abused by his family when he was young. Xe were raised by a group of fallen-angen-turned-powerful-demons that had a toxic tradition of viewing one's values. Hence, he was abused and almost left to die on Earth because his family exiled him and took away his powers. Afterwards, he was left to defend himself and mostly replied on sharp weapons.

-Trazuil mostly lives in the woods in his cabin, and he keeps all his weapons in a shed he built

-He knows color theory, astronomy, and vintage stuff really well; someone would ask "how do you make teal?" And he'll be like "Just use equal amounts of blue and green, that'll do." Along with having an knowledge for exo planets, black holes, etc.

-He's a big softie for dogs and other species in the canidae family

-Oh, and I should probably mention: whenever he's angry (not pissed) xe'll swear/mutter in either Spanish or Swahili as a way to censor himself. HOWEVER, I do imagine that he's a bit sadistic and unhinged when it comes to killing his victims. Like picture that one scene in the movie adaption to "The Shining" where Wendy is scared for her life while holding that bat to defend herself as Jack is walking up the stairs to her while saying "Wendy, dearest, love of my life...I'm not gonna hurt you...I'm just gonna bash your brains in" in the most intimidating way. Imagine that in the woods, but Trazuil is holding an axe and he's chasing his future victim.

rangerstop 2019 memories

every convention i think “it can’t get better than this” and then every convention it DOES!!! anyway this was the year of #brodysbitches click the read more to check out all the good times we had:

so first of all we all got a booth! and by “we all” i mean abbey @kimberlyannharts and ben @brodyromero to sell their art, it was called super mega art and it was super mega fun! we all hung out there a lot but we also walked around to meet the rangers and lot of them stopped by to hang out with us too which was so sweet :’)

carla perez / rita repulsa, mmpr

carla is literally the nicest warmest person in the world i’m ready to lay down my life for her! she exudes fun mom energy and she’s so pretty and she was so happy to talk with us about rita, i think we visited her booth pretty much every day and also said hi every time she passed by our booth

we told her that we loved rita and stan villainesses!! and she loved it! and that we loved her portrayal of rita as more fun and childish and full of energy and she said yeah, the directors asked her to take rita in a new direction when she was cast while still staying true to who rita was so she decided to make rita more childish and fun with the sticking out her tongue and everything and we told her it was perfect bc rita with her tongue out is literally iconic

tabby asked how she felt about rita turning good and she said she liked it bc she got to be on screen without all the rita makeup/wardrobe but she also loved playing evil rita! i asked her if she heard about thrax and she was like OH YEAH I HEARD THEY GAVE US A SON but she definitely had not watched it (respect) and we were trying to figure out how thrax could exist and we collectively decided (mostly tabby and carla) that thrax was adopted and rita and zedd were trying to turn him good, which she loved

tabby showed her the mean girls video and she fucking loved it so much!!! she was SO impressed by how tabby manipped rita and tommy making out and she went around telling everybody “she made me kiss jdf!!” which was sooo cute and when abbey and i went to see her on our own and i was like “i heard you saw the mean girls video” she said “i did!! she’s so cute and talented!” about tabby, we love a tabby thunderpunks stan!!

we went to get a video message from her and melody for kels (cassiechans on twitter) because kels is the og villainess stan and they were so excited and REHEARSED what they were gonna say (we just asked them to do “the voice” and say “live fast die young bad girls do it well”, they came up with everything else!) and here they are, aren’t they the literal cutest things on the planet?!?!

she loved abbey’s zedd/rita design and wanted a shirt but we didn’t have her size so she told abbey to dm her when her online store is open!!!! she also signed my zedd/rita print with “bad girls do it well” bc i asked and i would DIE FOR HER

catherine sutherland / kat hillard, mmpr/zeo/turbo pink

so the first night we get to the hotel, tabby tells me to close my eyes and come over and she hands me A PINK ZEO RANGER FUNKO POP, custom made by jalenv515 on instagram (check his stuff out!) and i lost my mind because its SO good and it’s my girl and i love it and tabby and katherine so much <3 the guy who made it asked her to ask me to get a pic with it so ofc i had to do that and show catherine

she definitely did not remember us from the last two cons we saw her at but you know what i respect that! queen of being too popular to remember faces (brennan mejia take notes) but i think she did remember me after this time :’)

i said “so tabby actually got me this as a gift because i literally love kat hillard so much she is my entire soul” and she was SO touched and delighted to see the funko pop she was like “oh my god this is so cool!” and i was like, she’s going on the center of my power rangers shrine for reals

we asked her which season she liked better for kat and she said zeo but me and tabby were like “no, turbo rights only” and listed off the amazing kat episodes in turbo and she agreed with us that the episode with the ballerina and the weight gain episode were so good! i think she says zeo automatically bc it’s her only full season and dudebros love it so she was probably surprised that we were like fuck zeo lives turbo is skinny but... turbo IS skinny :)

i asked if she read soul of the dragon and she said she did! and i said it was the only comic i read bc i have to read everything kat is in and she laughed and she said she liked it and i said i loved that kat and tommy were a partnership but i was mad kat didn’t get to morph! and she was like “i know! but it has to be all about tommy as ALWAYS” with an EYE ROLL and me and tabby were ascending THE SHADE...I LOVE HER SO MUCH

we took a pic with her holding the funko pop and then i posted the pic on instagram w/ a cheesy caption of how much i love kat and she commented “aww you are too sweet” with a pink heart emoji... my actual mother who raised me

AND THEN at the end of the last day when we were standing around waiting to say goodbyes, she was heading out and we all started saying GOODBYE QUEEN and she stopped when she saw me and said she loved the pic and the pop on instagram!!!! she remembered me!!!!! and i told her the guy who made them was really happy she liked it and he’s working on more kat pops including unmorphed kat and turbo kat and she was so thrilled!!

nakia burisse / tanya sloan, zeo/turbo yellow

so because the originals are kinda super overpriced we do not get pics w/ most of them ever dfgjkdfd IM SORRY NAKIA I <3 YOU FOREVER but she looked so beautiful in all her outfits this con im gay

but anyway i was walking around the con by myself in my yellow shirt and i passed her booth and said hi and she said she liked my shirt!! and i was like thank you its for the yellow ranger culture

she was selling these rangers as infinity war t-shirts and i asked if she designed them and she said she did!! they were so cool i almost bought one but deadass i had no fucking room left in my luggage lmao

anyway her handler was looking at me and he goes “aren’t there like..... three of you?” and im like yeah they’re not here rn but we are codependent so i cant buy anything without them dfhgkfhd and hes like “yeah i worked other cons and i remember seeing y’all as a unit” which dfhjgkdfhgd HE WAS NOT THE ONLY HANDLER TO REMEMBER US SPECIFICALLY and i said “ur right we cant function without each other” and nakia was like “aww i love that” queen of supporting our codependent dumbasses!!

melody perkins / astronema, karone, lost galaxy pink

she is soooo nice she has this high-pitched voice it’s so sweet i always feel so soothed whenever she speaks near me she is also so pretty!!

the others talked to her without me on day 1 and melody said she liked astronema’s purple wig best and didn’t like the white wig w/ the black things in it bc they kept getting in her way, and she loved karone’s outfit because it was easier to fight in

i went with abbey to drop off her astronema doodle for melody and she loved it!! shes so cuuuute

she was so excited to do the video message for kels and it was so adorable when she messed up the first time (live fast die well bad girls do it young!) lmaoo and we showed her kels’ reaction later and she was so flattered!! she also looks so cute in her reading glasses and she LOVED the mean girls video too!!!!!!!

we told her that we hosted a villainess appreciation week online and so many people picked astronema as their faves and she was so touched <3 a literal angel sent from heaven

ann marie crouch / princess shayla, wild force

only there saturday and sunday, limited edition queen! we met her on saturday so kat could get her fanart from gazbot signed and she was ofc in her princess shayla dress and looked soooo pretty

she was so impressed by gazbot’s art that she asked we take him over to her booth and we were all like OKAY PRINCESS COMING THROUGH MAKE WAY FOR THE PRINCESS and took her over to meet him and he was so happy and she was also happy and it was just so nice.... god i love ranger cons! everyone loves power rangers! its the dream!

and then after that we took her to our booth bc it was just two away from gazbot’s and she loved it everyone always loves ben and abbey’s art bc its the greatest in the world :’)

glenn mcmillan / dustin brooks, ninja storm yellow

first of all, ben abbey and i saw him passing by while we were having dinner at gatorville and we all GASPED and he noticed and grinned and waved at us while he was walking by.... an angel literally an angel

he’s so cute and sweet! he wore his yellow shirt w/ dustin’s logo on it all three days, king of branding

i got abbey’s dustin sticker signed by him and she gave him one of his own and he loved itttt

tabby asked him about his role in zenon z3 and you could tell his brain was processing loading while he tried to rmr what the fuck that movie was but he got into it and actually answered her questions about it, it was so sweet

i overheard him telling another fan he was trying to get “sally and the others” to morphicon for a reunion!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come to pmc next september pasadena california to see if he succeeds

john tui / doggie cruger, spd shadow, daggeron, solaris knight

LITERALLY THE STAR ATTRACTION every time we passed by his booth his line was a mile long, meanwhile all the originals’ booths right across from him were like [crickets chirping] it was so funny lmao

so we only got to see him on the last day bc his line was so long and nobody wanted to stand in it but tabby wanted to meet him! and then she got scared and almost walked away but a really nice girl (i think part of chris khayman lee’s team??) stopped her and was like THIS IS UR MOMENT and it was!!!

he is literally so sweet and handsome and cuddly he’s just a big teddy bear and he’s soooo charming and nice, he was wearing a manbun and like a full suit w/ a dress shirt, absolutely flexing on all the other boys in their t-shirts and jeans

tabby asked if he would do a pose holding her hand like he’s about to kiss it and he laughed and was like “okay but don’t show my wife!!” loyal king

he also hugged her twice hes so cuddly!! and we asked him about his other roles (he was in solo!) and he said he really enjoys expanding his filmography and stuff but power rangers is close to his heart and he also really likes doing parts that his kids can watch... it was the cutest thing

and we said how cool it was to see him represent his culture and he said he loved that too ugh rangers of color only valid rangers tbhonest honestly

richard brancatisano / xander bly, mystic force green

ok so firass is really hot and at one point he stopped by our table (bc richard called him over to look at abbey’s nick and fireheart print) and he was really nice but he’s. he’s so hot. we did not go to his table all weekend bc we were so intimidated hfdghfgd so thats why he doesnt get a section. but i do still love him i just cant speak w/ him or my brain will turn to jello probably

nic also won’t get a section bc i didnt really interact w/ him much but he stopped by the table twice to talk w/ abbey he loved her and her art!! chip squared!! he ranted about how hard it was to say fireheart in an american accent for all of them it sounded cute go talk to abbey for more details

anyway back to richard: somehow we just attract green rangers like bees to honey and idk why but i’m not complaining he’s so nice and handsome and funny! and he just LOVED talking with us like we stopped by his table every day and i dont think we even talked about mystic force or anything in particular, we were just chatting and he just loved it and like never wanted us to leave basically

i did ask him a question about xander’s personality and he legit went “uhh idk” and then started talking about himself???? KING OF NOT KNOWING SHIT ABOUT HIS OWN CHARACTER love that for him bc i also dont know shit about xander

he stopped by the table a couple times (well mostly we yelled HEY RICHARD and he came over) and he was so sweet and also when we told him we didn’t have xander art at our booth he jokingly rolled his eyes and said “of course” but then ben and abbey both doodled xander and came over to show him and he was SO TOUCHED

he hugged us all goodbye individually and then at the end we were waiting to say goodbye to aljin, richard was leaving his booth and abbey waved at him and his eyes LIT UP and he switched course to walk over to us and say goodbye again!!!! he loves us and i love him so much!!!

dwayne cameron / tyzonn, operation overdrive mercury

OPERATION OVERDRIVE IS WIG!

hes so fun to talk to, we went to him on day 1 to get my tyzonn print (from gazbot) signed and we were just talking to him about all his roles and tabby asked “was that ur real hair” and he was like lmao no can’t you tell?? and was talking about how they originally were gonna dye his hair platinum blonde but he thought it looked awful so they went w/ the ugly wig and he said they wanted to differentiate him from his previous two power rangers characters so tyzonn had to be blond

and then he kept saying wig and we kept giggling about it and we had to explain to him that wig is teen slang for something really cool and awesome and he said to try it out and gestured with his arms and it was SO funny... king of memes

my first suggestion for a video message was to have him say “operation overdrive is the best season ever and if you dont like it go suck a dick” but he vetoed that (but he was laughing) lmao

and HE’S the one who suggested he say “operation overdrive is wig” and it was perfect go check out the video on my blog

SHORT KING!!! literally the kindest nicest sweetest person ever i just wanna be in his presence all the time he’s such a ray of light he’s so smart and remembers fucking everything about his season KING OF JUNGLE FURY

his fiancee was there with him!! her name is lyndie she’s sooooo nice and she LOVED abbey’s shirts and bought an alpha one and wore it two days in a row! i fucking loved her she was so much fun to talk to and she told us about their proposal story it was so romantic and sweet

he told us so many things about jungle fury behind the scenes and how it was filming stuff and everything i honestly cant even rmr but i loved how much he knew, he told us that the actress who played fran was dating the actor who played master swoop at the time of filming and we were all like omfg (how random?? but cute)

he said he thinks theo and lily are probably still together but even if they’re not they’re still bffs bc they have such a rich history between them :’) brennan mejia take fucking notes

he said he thought they were gonna leave the theo/lily plot hanging after dance the night away and he was surprised it coming back!! but he really enjoyed it and he loves anna and i told him to get a jungle fury reunion together at pmc

he told us that this is just the first time he’s ever been properly invited to a con (i think he was sponsored by one of the toy booths or smth); people would ask him casually “hey would you wanna come to a con” and he was down but nobody ever actually officially invited him till now so @ PEOPLE WHO SPONSOR ACTORS TAKE NOTES INVITE MORE DISNEY ERA PEOPLE thank you

at the end we went to say goodbye to him and lyndie, he had been saying goodbye to some other ppl so we waited in line politely and as soon as he turned around and saw us he smiled so big and was like YOU GUYS! GROUP HUG! and he only group hugged the five of us because he loved us so much and he was so cute!! i wanna hug him forever, literally a blue angel sent from heaven

literally the first thing i blurted out was i love you thank you for brody romero i love seeing a desi character on power ranger SO much and he was just completely shocked that we all KNEW he was desi and he was like, yeah my mom’s indian but my dad’s caucasian and i was like so what bitch you STILL COUNT

he was, like, so touched that we knew and cared about him being desi and was like “wow you guys really know a lot” and kat the traitor was like “yeah they stalked you to figure out who tf you are” dfgjkdfhgd and we mentioned jasmeet and ppl thinking he was the first indian ranger and will was like “yeah i heard about that and i didnt wanna make it a big thing but...” LIKE HONEY PLEASE WE GOT SHOOTERS OUT HERE FOR BRODY ROMERO

its so overwhelming to even think about bc brody romero is literally LITERALLY my favorite ranger of all time and we spent SO MUCH time talking to will and all of it was fucking amazing i’ll try to point out the highlights but god there was just so much i love him SO much

he talked a lot about the time he spent in new zealand (bc zali and nari were there from australia and talking to him about it) and he told us a lot of stories about the cast getting drunk and having fun, he told us about the time he and the boys went w/ jordi to his home and learned about maori culture and he had to eat bugs and about the time nico got blackout drunk at star casino and made out w/ a completely random girl and they all gave him hell for it later lmao

he was having so much fun talking to us that at one point a random dudebro came up and brennan was around the booth and we were like “oh did you wanna buy something” and dudebro was like “no i just wanted to show them my comic” which literally was just an mmpr comic and he wasn’t even paying for anything what the fuck?? and will took one look at him and his comic and went “uh one second man” and turned back to us and completely ignored him until he went away and we all DIED laughing i love him SO much (sorry to brennan for leaving him w/ the dudebro lol)

at some point he was talking about other actors that he’s met and i asked if he’s seen other seasons and he made the :grimace: emoji and was like no and i was like good keep it that way ninja steel is the only season :) and he started laughing and was like COME OVER HERE AND HUG ME i could stay wrapped in his arms forever tbh

he said he felt bad for chip bc the cast was always asking him to adjust things and bringing up their own ideas for writing (things we know from peter complaining about chip’s writing and trying to get his own ideas in...) and said he preferred to not annoy him w/ all of that BUT he did say he got annoyed himself when chip would direct episodes and be VERY particular about exactly how he wanted them to act and we were like fuck him is he an actor??? and he laughed... he literally thought we were so funny even tho we are not at all lmao

at one point he was talking about how jordi was shirtless a lot and had big boobs (his words) and i said, on instinct, “tits out for ninja steel” and he goes what?? and asked me to repeat it and i had a brief moment of panic but i did repeat “tits out for ninja steel” thru my giggles and he burst into laughter again dfhjkgdfd TO BE CLEAR i should not have said that pls dont say that to actors’ faces he so easily could’ve made it uncomfortable or creepy (some actors...not mentioned in this post...are fucking creepy) but he didnt bc hes an angel so i guess its fine

every time we were hovering around brennan’s table on day 3 tabby says will kept looking over in our direction i think he missed us bc we were actually fun to talk to and not fucking dudebros trying to tell him the plots of seasons he does not give a shit about bc he wasnt in them (literally u do not need to explain the plot of dino thunder to actors who were not in dino thunder, pls calm down) and also bc he loves us :)

we all went in to save him from a dudebro at one point by just asking him random questions and the dudebro KEPT HOVERING like trying to be in the conversation as if we were FRIENDS with him (dont do this unless ur paying the actor for his time!!! he wasn’t even buying anything he was like “i’m just here to talk” bitch get his autograph or GO) and the dudebro tried to flex on us by being like “oh were you guys at th power morphicon with the yoshi and peter hug” and tabby got confused (bc we were at the next pmc and said yes) and kat just lied and said yes bc she hates dudebros and ben (the only truthful person) said no and abbey said yes and then will turned his head all the way around to me on the side and was like “were you there?” and i mean... i wasnt....but he wouldnt stop looking at me WHAT WAS I GONNA DO, DISAPPOINT HIM? so i said yes :)

after the dudebro FINALLY fucking left kat was like “oh thank god we can leave now” and will was so confused until he realized “were you guys just trying to save me from talking to him” and he laughed and was so touched he was like “thank you guys you can see how my face just goes dead when they talk to me” dfhgjkdfg and we were like literally send up the bat signal any time you need us to save you and he said we were the best people to talk to the whole con and he loved ussss

at one point we were talking about indian rep in power rangers and he looks at ME and goes “so what do you think of jazz as desi rep” and idk will what am i supposed to think when you’re staring into my soul??? i said he was cool and i liked ravi but he wasn’t red and i’m red ranger ride or die so :) i just love brody romero so fucking much idk what else i was supposed to say.... ur literally ingrained in my soul william NOBODY ELSE CAN COME CLOSE

i asked “how much money do i have to pay to get you to arm wrestle brennan for me” and he was like “i dont know if there’s enough money in the world but you can ask brennan” and i called brennan over like “brennan will you please arm wrestle will for me” and he DID and it was so fun they were having such a good time, in the second round we all started chanting NINJA STEEL NINJA STEEL and you can see brennan getting shook by that for a second and then later will told us he appreciated our chanting so much and we were like yeah man, ninja steel FOREVER anyway here are the videos: one and two :) (they did not make me pay for it, generous kings)

we got a polaroid of all of us + brennan + will (brennan had to phone will to get him to come back to the booth at our request, ty king, and will came right over and brennan was like “sry if we interrupted something” and will was like nah not at all, idk what brennan said but i like to imagine he came running bc he heard it was us lol) and then he refused to let me pay when i came back to get him to autograph it GENEROUS KING OF MY HEART.MP3

brennan signed the polaroid first and his signature took up the whole bottom part of the polaroid and we yelled at him for not leaving any room for will and he was like “oh whoops....well he can sign THE BACK” i love it when he sasses us; so then we went to show will and he was like wow brennan and then signed his autograph EVEN BIGGER in sparkly silver pen all over the top so basically they had a dick-measuring contest over my polaroid and it was awesome, will’s is bigger tho B)

he also followed me and ben on instagram after day 2 and then EARLIER TODAY (11/13) he was stalking and followed ben’s personal acct and also reposted his ninja steel art onto his story and tagged him so in conclusion, brody romero first god second

WAIT IM NOT DONE when we went to say goodbye we were like “oh are you packing up soon” and he was so sparkly eyed over us chilling at his table he was like “nah im not” and then he looked at his phone and it was half hour till the con closed and he was like “oh wait never mind i guess i am” lmaoo king of not keeping track of time AND THEN HE HUGGED US ALL GOODBYE IN A BIG GROUP HUG and his biceps almost crushed abbey

(btw brennan did not hug us goodbye this time i think he was jealous we spent all our time gushing over will) (im kidding we still love you brennan)

phew ok i think that’s pretty much everything??? we also made a lot of cool friends w/ artists and stuff!! we talked to gazbot a lot and that was super fun, the girls next to our booth made custom power rangers pillows and they were really cool! i think kat, tabby, and ben all bought pillows from them they were really soft and cute, we talked to ceevee a lot (he actually gave me his extra exhibitor badge bc his brother couuldnt make it and then a different artist saw my badge saying “ceevee illustrations” and gave me a sticker for free because “you work for chris and he’s awesome” dfhgjdfhd i went back and paid him tho bc you dont take free shit from artists, kids! pay them for their work!) spent a lot of time yelling (nicely) at ceevee to make a poppy pin and he said he would bump it up the list for me :)

I know I have a lot of requests, at least seven, and other things I haven't finished, but this is fresh and I don't want to lose the idea or the inspiration or the feeling while I still have it. The next day is quiet. I sit outside in the grass of ther front lawn, still in barely any clothes, and I'm reading my psychology book. My feet are knotted together behind me, swinging back and forth. The soft wind brushes against the skin of my legs occasionally, but it's warm so it doesn't make me shiver. It's very warm here during the summer, hot on many days when it's nearing the end of July and the whole August.

Eugene talked to his brother about something a mere hour ago, after the very quiet breakfast session me and him and his family shared. He's sitting in a chair with a coffee in hand, staring ahead. Silently I hope he's been looking at me, but I ignore the thought. Don't think he'll ever think of me the certain way I am thinking about him, taking the war and its impacts and him as a person in general. It makes me a bit sad, but I don't want to think about anything downing. I'm happy that I'm with him and I can spend my time with him, and I appreciate that so much.

When I turn over a page and get ready to read new words and knowledge, I hear a pair of feet padding down the locks of grass from behind me. I turn and lift my head towards the walker and smile when I see it's Gene. In his pyjamas and knitted robe, his cup of coffee gone from his hand, left on the small outside table. His feet are bare, and I see that when he sits down next to me, crossing his legs.

He looks at my book and I close it so he can see what it's about. He nods when he reads the title and I put the book down. I turn my body over so that I'm on my back, facing Eugene. I feel the grass locks through my shirt and robe and they tickle my skin, making me smile and wince a little. I feel Gene's eyes on me, and it makes me smile wider, turning my head towards him. I reach my hand out to his, chasing his long fingers.

“How are you feeling?” I ask quietly, so quietly that no one walking by could hear me. Eugene moves his eyes from mine and looks afar before looking down at our hands, a quiet sigh leaving his lips. I search his beautiful eyes, waiting for his reply. I really want to know every detail of how he's feeling, and usually he tells me each tiny one.

“Tired.” He says finally. “I felt like I didn't have any sleep at all. You were gone when I really woke up, but I figured why.” His words make me feel a little guilty and I refrain, my hand going a bit stiff in his. Eugene looks at my faulty eyes. “Don't be sorry,” he tells me, “I understand.”

“My main concern is that you don't feel sorry.” I tell him, and it freezes him a little. We watch each other's eyes, complete understanding traveling back and forth. “I can't understand what you've experienced in the war, because it was you there, not me. But I can understand every other feeling.” I say. “I don't ever want you to feel sorry about anything that comes of it. Nightmares or anything else, Gene.” I poke his knee with my pointer finger softly many times, my hand growing a bit bored. He watches the gesture for a while before wrapping his fingers around my wrist and pulling my hand up on his thigh to rest there.

“Thank you.” He says so quietly I fear I might have dreamed it. I smile and trace my finger in circles on his thigh.

“What were you talking about with Ed?” I ask then, twisting a little so that I'm closer to him. Gene shrugs.

“He told me how he distracted himself from his own nightmares and memories from serving.” He says and I nod.

“Did he give you any tips?” I question. Eugene gives me a breathy chuckle, shaking his head.

“None that I could really use.” He admits and I smile wide.

We stay like this for quite some time, and the sun starts to break through the tree branches more. I trace figures into his thigh, his palm, his forearm, and we lock eyes now and then. We don't speak, and both of us enjoy it. The silence comforts Eugene, and it makes me calmer when he is.

Maybe this is the moment I tell him. And if everything changes, it does. If nothing changes, so it goes. I'm ready for whichever result that may come.

“Genie...” I call his nickname so that he'd look at me, and he does. His eyes are curious and I look at our hands, “I don't know how to say this right and it might be hard to take in, but you mean a lot to me...” Eugene raises his eyebrows slightly, afraid to really show it. “What I mean is that I love you in every way possible, and I'd like to spend—if not all, then—most of my life with you.”

There's a long pause of silence between us, watching each other's eyes. I probably did it very wrong, and I should have been softer with my words, not so conspective and up-right. Now I wish he'd forget I ever said a thing. I ran my hands over my face, swallowing the escaped tears and looking away from Eugene. It was too much for him. I shouldn't have said anything.

“That's, uh...” he finally says and I immediately turn my head to look at him, he's looking down, “that's very kind of you to say.” He states, nodding, and looks at me again. “Is there anything else you'd like to say?”

I smile shyly and try to hide my excitement. I chuckle when I look down at my hands. “Yesterday, at dinner,” I start to say, “I was blushing. You make me blush all the time, Eugene.” I admit and I can see a soft smile starting to appear on his features. “I would have liked to tell you before you left because I never knew if you'd come back. Or come back the same. But I didn't know about my true feelings.” He nods. “You can do whatever you want with my, uh, my feelings. It's not obligate that you return them.” I say, on a more serious note, “I just wanted you to know that someone loves you. A lot. And will be here for you always.”

He lets his smile stretch his lips fully and his head hangs down. He reaches out to my hand and holds it, his thumb tracing over my knuckles, savoring the lovely moment. I've really confessed my love to him now, but there are many more things to say which I hope I'll have the chance to, soon.

“I want you to stay for always.” Eugene says, the smile still settled in his face, but a more serious expression on it now. He's lifted his head to see my face. “I think I'll go crazy if you don't.” He admits and I sit up in front og him, changing my posture. I bend my knees against my chest and wrap my arms around them, looking at Gene. “And I can't... Fuck, I can't promise you anything. I can't promise you a perfect romance or marriage or anything.”

“I know you can't.” I say to him and sway our intertwined hands left and right. “But I'll have everything if I have you. No matter how hard it'll be or how pained you are. I'll love you always.” I assure him and Eugene looks at me, and now there are tears in his eyes. I smile wide, and tears appear in my eyes, too. I chuckle and grip his hands tighter.

“Thank you, Y/N.” Eugene says and I nod. I let go of his hands and reach my arms out to him, asking the question with my eyes. He nods for an answer and I put my arms around his shoulders, pulling him against my warm form. My legs unfold and I'm kneeling before the sitting Eugene, his nose in the bend of my neck. I feel his breath against me as he breathes, and it brings me comfort. I want to stay like this with him forever. And I can now. I can.

(Probably) Last Mass Post on Olympic Technicals

I saw a GIF of Nathan's 3A from his Oly FS. Has he gone back to the toe-pick release, from the skid that Raf was teaching him? (Can't seem to link GIF, sorry! But the Olympic Channel has his FS.)

This is the moment I realized, with mild horror, that I’ve forgotten to DVR any of Nathan’s performances at the OG. And my current Internet connection is so crappy I can’t even get the Olympic channel video to play in full HD. But, yes, I also remember noticing that he went back to the toe pick takeoff for his 3A in the FS. Probably because the skid takeoff sure didn’t work out that well for him in that competition. Let’s wait and see what he chooses to do at Worlds this week.

Hi, I really appreciate your posts! You've made figure skating so much easier to understand with your gifs and explanations. I was wondering something, if you don't mind answering, and it was in concerns to step sequences. I remember hearing somewhere that Nathan Chen got a level 4 during his Long Program at the Olympics while Yuzuru got a level 3? If true, why is that? It doesn't seem like Nathan's is more complex at all. Thank you in advance for reading this inquiry --- @mystictrillium

Hi, it’s true that Nathan got a level 4 for his FS StSq at the OG and Yuzu got a level 3, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that Nathan’s StSq was more complex than Yuzu’s. Yuzu’s planned technical content for the Seimei StSq is highly difficult (more details here) and should be more than enough to earn him the maximum level if everything is executed correctly. The reason why Yuzu lost a level at the OG was because of one mistake that happened to occur during a turn, which, under ISU rules, was crucial for level evaluation purpose. I’ve discussed this here, in case you are interested in the technical details.

Hi Alice! I was wondering, if Yuzuru got a Lv4 on the last spin of his SP from the Olympics (same GOE) would he have broken the WR?

No, a level 4 spin wouldn’t have been enough. He was 1.05 points away from a new WR. The difference between Base Value of a level 3 and a level 4 combination spin is only 0.50 points, and there is no difference in their Scale of Value, so Yuzu wouldn’t have got any extra GOE if he had received a level 4 for that last spin either. He, in fact, received higher GOE for that spin at the OG compared to at Autumn Classic. Well deserved, I’d say, not least because I love that variation he did for the A-spin when he placed his hand flat on his back instead of on his knee as usual:

(Aside from being pretty, this variation also affected his balance and actually made the spin harder to execute. But of course when you are Yuzuru Hanyu, judges hold you to an apparently much higher standard so, despite added difficulty and whatnot, if you miss your rotation by a hair’s breadth, you lose a level, no negotiation allowed).

Hi Alice! This ask is regarding spin. I understand Hanyu got only Lv3 on his last spin for SP for lacking rotation. But then Shoma Uno in his FS' FCCoSp, if I am not mistaken, lacked rotations on both his camel and upright position. So,,, why was that still counted as a lv4 spin? That's 2 basic position lacking rotations. I know counting spin is not my forte, but did I really make that big of a mistake there? Thanks! (also, if it's going to unleash the you-know-what, feel free to not answer)

No I don’t think you are mistaken about Shoma’s spin. At least if you count spin revolutions the same way I do. For a basic camel position, I count from the moment both the skater’s spinning knee and free leg are fully straightened, I stop counting when they start bending their knee to move to the subsequent position:

For a basic upright position, I’d count from when their body is fully upright (duh) and the spinning knee also fully straightened, same principle as camel spin for when to stop:

So, from how I see it, neither of those positions Shoma had was held for 2 full revolutions. As to why the tech panel didn’t invalidate his spin or give him a V sign at least, your guess is as good as mine.

In case anyone is curious, this is how I count the revolutions for Yuzu’s inside to outside edge feature: start when his blade is completely outside, stop when his blade is completely flat:

I remember Shoma said that if he had landed the 4Lo, he could have higher chance of winning, and Yuzuru replied that even if Shoma did land the 4Lo, Yuzu would still have won. Could you calculate/ explain this please?

Wait, when/where did this conversation happen? Just asking because it sounds very out of character for both of them.

But, well, the calculation is not hard to do. The final margin between Yuzu and Shoma was 10.95 points. Shoma got a total of 8.00 points for his 4Lo (fall), if he had landed the jump, and landed it perfectly so that he received the maximum GOE for it (which has never happened, mind you), his total point for that element would have been 12 in BV + 3 GOE = 15 points. So that’s 7 points added to his TES. Now you can also tell me that the fall on the 4Lo affected his PCS, so if it hadn’t happened his PCS would also have gone up, but it order to even the gap with Yuzu, Shoma would need an extra 3.95 points in PCS, which would mean a total PCS of 96.67. Considering that his personal best PCS in international competition is (I think) 94.42 at WC17, 96.67 is extremely unlikely.

So, the summary is, even if Shoma had landed his 4Lo, Yuzu would still have won.

Hi Alice, I have a question about commentators, do you know who were the commentators for the official Olympic broadcast (the ones with the phrase 'liquid gold'😍)? They seemed so lovely and I could hear them clapping after Yuzu's fs, which was just heart warming.

The female commentator (she of the “liquid gold” comment) is Belinda Noonan, former Australian national champion. Thanks to @chibura for the info :) I’m not sure who her partner was. Does anybody have a clue?

Hi Alice! Hope you're doing fine. I've heard people saying a lot that Javi should have got silver instead of Shoma. I haven't watched yet Javi's performance but I've seen a fancam of Shoma's and I've checked their protocols. Shoma's technique is flawed, that much we know, but there were a couple of jumps that were pretty nice. Javi has like 5 points advantage over Shoma in PCS but he popped that 4S and lost a level in one of the spins (besides less one quad). What do you think? Thanks :) --- @puniyo

I also think the Silver should have gone to Javi, mostly because in the FS, Shoma’s 4Lo was clearly under-rotated and he shouldn’t have got the full BV for it. His 4T was borderline UR as well (more details on his 4Lo and 4T here), and as you see above, his flying combination spin was also dubious. Considering the very thin margin between him and Javi, any of those mistakes, if called by the tech panel, could have resulted in a different final standing.

Please excuse me if this question seems silly, but I have not understood fs enough to withstand a debate, that's why I really need your help. I saw on an ask page someone raising questions about Yuzu's 4T in Chopin, so aside from the argument that 4T has an inherent degree of prerotations, how else can I prove that his 4T was not UR? And while Kurt said that it was not quite the 'perfect' landing, how would you describe that landing on average? Thanks a ton

I think you’ve got PR and UR mixed up there :) PR is about whether or not the skater rotates on ice before the takeoff, where as UR is about whether they do that after they land.

So it’s true that a toe loop always has some degrees of PR inherent in it, more than most of the other jump types, because of the way the skater's hip is completely open to the rotational direction. Here’s Yuzu’s 4T takeoff in his SP:

You see there, with the way this jump works (left leg swinging behind for the pick), a skater can’t help but point their toe at an angle for the takeoff, and that’s what causing the inherent pre-rotation. However in Yuzu’s case, he picked and then left the ice with minimal timing delay, so his blade was fully off ice at no more than 90 degrees of PR, which made his takeoff completely valid in scoring terms (in order for a takeoff to be called “cheated”, it has to be done with 180 degrees of PR or more).

As for the landing of that jump, no, it wasn’t perfect. It was slightly under-rotated:

See how he clearly did have to finish his last rotation on ice? It was not called by the technical panel, likely because they deemed the lack of rotation not enough for a call (less than a quarter), but it was reflected somewhat in his GOE. 4 judges out of 9 gave him +2 only for that combo. With him hitting almost, if not all, of the 8 positive GOE bullets for that combo, a +2 can only be justified by the judges taking into consideration the mandatory deduction of -1 for the UR (yes, judges are allowed to, and are supposed to, deduct GOE for jumps lacking rotation even if there is no call from the tech panel).

Here’s how a perfect 4T landing looks, from Yuzu’s FS :)

Hi Alice! I was wondering on yuzu’s SP (and really the FS as well tbh) when he was jumping his 4T-3T the foot picking the ice as he was jumping wasn’t his usual ‘quick hitting motion’ as I think you put it. Do you think it’s just bc he hadn’t been training his quads until 2 weeks before and he was just getting used to it or it could be something else?

He did put a bit more pressure on the ball of his picking foot for the takeoff of that 4T (as you can see in that gif above), and same goes for his (planned) solo 4T in the FS.

I think it had to do with his right ankle not in its best shape: for a toe loop takeoff, while the majority of the push comes from your picking left foot, you do need to use your right foot’s ankle and knee to stabilize the takeoff. If you have some nagging unease in your mind about your right foot, it can lead to you taking a split second more to fully stabilize the takeoff, and therefore, a split second more of your toe pick being kept on the ice.

Or, he was actually altering his takeoff in that manner as a way to put a certain limit on the size of his toe loop so that it is easier to control, also because he was worrying about his right foot, which plays a crucial role in the landing. This alternative theory of mine came up because I noticed that in the second 4T he did in the FS, he used the usual fast takeoff and ended up with that step out:

For what it’s worth, his subsequent triple toe loop takeoffs in combos were all picture perfect though, as usual :)

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

iona is a mutant and the leader of the nyxers (which is basically just a short way to say New York Mutants), a militant group meant to defend other mutants against discrimination by force. she is 24 and feels a little young to be running around helping mutants and being looked at as a role model, but iona does her best to be the leader that others need her to be. other nyxers are also present on this blog akdafaoi i’ll talk more about them later maybe

Points of interest:

Iona is kind of a young leader and she’s trying to be the best she can be, but that’s hard when she’s bound to fuck up

She cleans up after other mutant’s messes like all the time

She doesn’t really like humans, and can be kind of an asshole towards them

She is one of the OG Nyxers and only herself and one other is left

Those OG Nyxers were like her siblings. They all got raised and taught by the same person, Guardian. Originally, Iona was the youngest of them (she was 17 when they started, Guardian was 27, and their four other siblings ranged from 19-25).

Guardian was like their big sister. She brought together five other mutants, Iona included, to create the Nyxers. Their original intention was to defend the mutants inside and outside of District X. Three of the five were killed in various missions throughout the years, eventually leaving Iona, Guardian, and one other sibling remaining.

Guardian knew they needed to help the community by bringing in some sort of financial stability. Sasha hammer came around and offered her assistance if the Nyxers would push her weapons and drugs, kick included, to District X. It went against their values, but Iona, who was more interested in seeing the district prosper than caring what they sold, talked Guardian into letting them sell. Jax, a mutant capable of depowering other mutants, helped Sasha kill Guardian (who was influencing Iona to do good). With Guardian out of the way, Sasha steered Iona’s anger against humans (who she thought were the cause of Guardian’s death) and the Nyxers into an ugly path. It took two years for Iona to see a flaw in Sasha’s way of thinking. She started questioning Sasha, and that’s when Sash and Jax tried to repeat what happened to Guardian. Iona’s last sibling was the one who saved her from death, leaving Sasha wounded and retreating. Since then, Iona has been mending the Nyxers, as well as her own ways, into the path that Guardian originally intended.

What they’ve been up to recently:

In present day, Iona has just recently taken Sasha out of her life. She is still somewhat traumatized and guilt-ridden over the path she took the Nyxers to, and she blames herself for recent deterioration in District X. There’s a lot of blood on her hands, and she’s trying to come clean from it.

A few months after, Iona cleaned up the Nyxers (weeding out the mutants who only wanted to take the time to hurt other mutants) and stopped them from selling any further. She is starting to bring them back to their root cause, and spends a lot of time out in the city trying to keep up with other mutants.

Where to find them:

District X, running around New York City, wherever trouble is (especially if it has to do with mutants). You won’t see her mingling with humans much, but you will see her trying to recruit other mutants to do the right thing.

Current plans:

Basically looking for Iona going from villain to the antihero she was always meant to be. She’s gonna be going through a lot of guilt trips and struggles of being young(ish) but trying to be mature enough to be a good leader in the eyes of other mutants. This point is her growth in becoming a better person and a better leader.

Heavenly Father, I feel like giving up. Help me to remember the reason I began. Help me to see the purpose behind Your plan. Provide the necessary grace. Keep me set upon Your face, to find strength for the next step, to discover faith to keep trying and to believe that miracles are possible today and in all circumstances. Amen.
