In each episode we engage in candid conversations about raising children in today's world while seeking wisdom from timeless biblical principles. In this episode, we explore the topic of favoritism in parenting, drawing insights from the stories of Jacob and Esau. We discuss the complexities of nurturing each child's unique qualities and needs, emphasizing the importance of loving them unconditionally, regardless of their performance or perceived shortcomings. We explore how to navigate the inherent struggles of parenting while striving to treat each child with equal love and respect. Whether you're a seasoned parent or just starting out, Tonya and I hope our podcast offers practical insights, heartfelt encouragement, and a reminder that you're not alone in this crazy beautiful adventure called parenting.

-- Good man, good husband, bad father. Good woman, good wife, bad mother.
Good man, bad husband, good father. Good woman, bad wife, good mother. --
We're not perfect but we can make the constant effort to be perfect. Once we become a husband/father and a wife/mother, our personal development doesn't stop there. There's still much to learn, and even our partners and children bring lessons for our personal growth.
May be keep humbling ourselves in the edification process, and not get stuck-up now that we have a higher title and role in life.

Mama Drama: Tales from the Toddler Trenches
Mothers hating on other mothers - it's a tale as old as time. Today, I was on the receiving end of it. That lady, with her condescending tone, said to me, 'I don't know how you do it, being a single mother all by yourself.' And her kid? Let's just say he was a little terror, hitting her and pulling at her clothes like a miniature Damien. I felt sorry for her, I really did - my own son can be a bit of a handful too. But as I tried to encourage her little one to participate, I couldn't help but remember how I've felt in the same situation. It's not that I don't appreciate the support - I do - but sometimes that pity can be a little hard to swallow. Ah, the joys of motherhood! Speaking of which, I've got to go - my own little troublemaker is tugging at my sleeve as we speak.

It's not just about telling kids something. And the hoping it sticks. We need to make sure our lessons become hardwired. Repetition is big. Consistency is big. Personal experience is huge. Stories are major. True and tragic stories hit deep. #stories #reallife #raisingkids #dads #mondaymood #tragedy https://www.instagram.com/p/CpL2eL4LLZI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

REVIEW: PRACTICAL STRATEGIES TO PARENTING CHILDREN WITH ADHD: ESSENTIAL PARENTING SKILLS TO UNDERSTAND AND IMPROVE YOUR CHILD'S BEHAVIORAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SCHOOL CHALLENGES BY GUSTAVO FONTE 1/26/20230 Comments MY REVIEW: I believe this book will do a lot of good. The advice and steps are easy to follow, and knowing a family who has grown up with an ADHD kid, I can see the steps they've taken that were suggested in this book, and I've seen it work. Something that really stuck out to me was when the book talked about punishments. Growing up, my mind was everywhere, and constantly moving. I was (and still am) easily distracted. Instead of punishing the child, when you know they aren't being defiant (their brain's just preoccupied and maybe they forgot what they were doing), you give them a gentle reminder. They're not meaning to defy you. Even now as an adult, I don't mean to not do things asked of me, I just... forget. I've found ways around it to remind me or keep me on track, but reading that part kind of reassured me as well. That being said, this book can be used not for young children, but of all ages, I believe, even if you don't suffer from ADHD. This has the potential to be truly lifechanging for those who read it. 5 stars. SUMMARY: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a condition that primarily affects children and teenagers, and even runs into adulthood. The book is an excellent source of up to date clinical information regarding the diagnosis, and treatments available. In addition, it offers parents valuable tools to put into practice to help their child improve their behaviors, inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. The book also addresses the myths surrounding the disorder that interfere with the parent's seeking proper care for their child. such as issues at school, at home, symptoms, and causes. Parents with ADHD kids will benefit from applying the lessons in the book as they help and support their child's journey with the disorder. #books #indieauthor #ilovebooks #write #booklove #booksofinstagram #booksbooksbooks #indieauthorsofinstagram #bookish #selfhelp #adhd #raisingkids https://www.instagram.com/p/CpJcrvgrp05/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My “spoiled” kids. These two, very mature girls asked me once - are we spoiled? - Nope, you are not. I can admit you are mature, too matured according your age, you are brave and strong. Spoiled kids get everything they want and are bossy to their parents, they are harmed by lack of time, lack of duties, lack of respect, discipline and empathy. I’d recommend use dictionary before making comments, I do strongly advice to be around them in every situation and moment to prepare future statements. But I still love people. #raisingkids #parenting #momlife #parentingtips #motherhood #parenthood #positiveparenting #kids #family #parentingmemes #consciousparenting #dadlife #parents #gentleparenting #motherhoodunplugged #mindfulparenting #momsofinstagram #raisingboys #children #parentinglife #childdevelopment #parentinghacks #parentingadvice #lifewithkids #love #mumlife #parentingquotes #raisingchildren #parentingcoach https://www.instagram.com/p/Co0gv9Ss13t/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Parenting Reminder
Parenting is hard. Whoever says its easy is either lying or not doing it to their full capacity. Parenting alone is another story altogether. My teenager knows how to push a boundary and she also knows how to push my buttons. I love raising her, I love watching her grow, but it pushes me to breaking points at times and I don’t know what the other side looks like. What I hold onto is my faith in…

He doesn't even hear her
I tried to include my partner last night in the late night feedings. Either I have to pop a boob out every couple of hours or I have to heat up a bottle, feed the baby, and then pump. Both are exhausting. So I decided to include my partner because as he said, I can ask for his help at any time. Side note: I hate when dad's say this. You aren't helping this is called just being a parent. This child is equally your responsibility. So I told him tonight, feeding is your job. Mine will be pumping. The 1st time she cried: He didn't even hear her. I sat there and waited for him to stir but nothing. She got louder and louder and he continued snoring. I finally had to shake him awake. The 2nd time she cried: He still didn't hear her. I ended up giving up and giving her a nipple because I couldn't be bothered. Towards the end of her feeding, he wakes up and offers to get a bottle. Sir, what does it matter now? I'm already done feeding her. The 3rd time she cried: The snoring saga continues. I was so annoyed that I angrily screamed his name (it took 3 times) until he woke up. He makes her a bottle and lays back down with her. As I'm pumping, facing the opposite direction I notice he is snoring again. I look back and he has done some dad engineering and propped the bottle up in such a way that he doesn't have to hold it and he's able to doze off. Except he hasn't noticed that she's already done with said bottle and she's sucking down air. Great. I'm about to have a fussy baby who still can't pass gas or burp very well without our help. By morning time, cranky and sleepy, I told him I just don't trust him to ever leave our baby alone with him overnight. If he does feed her, he'll just fall back asleep. But he'll probably never even hear her. I guess feedings will be my job until further notice. Signed, A Frustrated Mom
