Simple desktop and mobile resources for the discerning muslim revert
Dropping the links I use to study Quran
The Noble Quran - contains 66 different languages (including transliteration). Also has good (short) summaries of many tafsir, surah/ayah/word recitation/pronunciation.
Legacy Quran - same as the first link, but only text. May be less demanding or easier to navigate on certain browsers.
Quranic Audio - same as the first link, but only audio. Has countless recitation options, from the Holy Quran itself to Taraweeh to non-Hafs recitations.
Quranic Arabic Corpus - invaluable classical arabic dictionary that let's you search by ayah, word, or root, and explains the grammar and syntax of each word, as well as frequency of usage.
Quran: A Reformist Translation - this is the translation I use to cross-reference everything I read from the other webbed sites. very well-researched, but also probably "blasphemous" by the standards of conservative Islam. considered to be of Quranist persuasion, the three authors both give a more metaphorical understanding of the Quran and debunk many common misconceptions about the Islamic faith from both inside and outside the religion. Unparalleled if you're a convert but the centuries-long debates of different Islamic schools has deterred you from exploring Gd's message.
The Prophet's Prayer - based on cross-referencing many different sunnah and hadith, the author seeks to give the most logical and accurate account to the guidelines of prayer as described on behalf of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Great source of clarity if you're unfamiliar with navigating supplementary texts.
English Quran Audio (Part 1) (Part 2) - Saheeh International translation; great to download and listen to in your free time. I let this play while I sleep so that I may drift off and wake up to Gd's word.
Al-Azan Prayer App - privacy-focused open source adhan and qibla app. Lots of good features with plenty of customization. Be sure to download the F-Droid app store onto your phone, then install Al-Azan from there, so that it will automatically update. (F-Droid also has other great privacy apps you should check out while you're there, including Youtube and Twitch front-ends).
Noor Ul-Huda - another F-Droid app but with a customizable mobile Quran reading experience. Allows you to tag and bookmark different surahs and ayats, as well as the option to download translations of the Quran in 44 different languages. Same as the previous app, be sure to download F-Droid first in order to automatically update.

All these people that say "boycotting doesn't work" and "why aren't you flying over to palestine to fight instead of boycotting" absolutely baffle me because by saying that, they're just openly declaring how fucking stupid they are. If you look at history, spesifically apartheid regimes in history, for eg. The Apartheid regime in South Africa, one of the leading reasons why the people of colour in South Africa were liberated is because the Apartheid government was being cut off from the rest of the world. They were being denied business from everyone until they stopped the apartheid regime. They were being boycotted. So do not ever say that boycotts don't work. Another thing is that even if you believe the boycott won't work, how can you see what is happening to the people of palestine, see parents holding pieces of their children in bags, see babies being pulled out from the rubble, see 15 and 10 and 3 and 1 year old orphans who are irreparably traumatized beyond anything we could ever imagine, see 13 year old girls who scream "do not save me first, save my parents and siblings first!", see a 3 year old child brutally shot in the chest when his father came outside and asked the soliders for him to just let them leave before they started bombing, only to be shot mercilessly, and still feel comfortable funding the government responsible for doing all of that. Do you not care how your money is spent? Are you so fucking desensitized that you don't understand things unless they happen to you personally? How would you feel if it was your father who was shot, your sister who was screaming for them to save her last, your siblings who were killed whilst trying to save their children, your mother who protected you with her body, you who was shot in the back at age 6, and the whole world stood back and did nothing except fund the people oppressing you so that they could oppress you even more. Some of you are truly zionists and for that i hope you burn, but the rest of you are being willfully ignorant and refuse to learn just because you can, and for that you are just as evil. I hope you all are treated with the same treatment that you wish upon or gleefully witness others go through.

As a communist who is also an atheist/agnostic I end up in a lot of circles with people who think religion is inherently bad or inherently oppressive or should be abolished, 95% of the time these are ex Christians in my experience. I see so many people talk about how because their experiences of Christianity were oppressive all religion is hateful and homophobic and racist. When I spent time in punk circles both in real life and online; people would have patches of crossed out religious symbols of Muslims and Christians and Jews and then somewhere else on their battle jacket would have a crossed out swastika and these same people would talk about punching Nazis.
I think a lot of people talk about antisemitism and islamaphobia and even to some extent a hatred of Christianity on the right wing, the people who believe all Muslims are terrorists and all Jews control the world and religion = religious extremism. But antisemitism and islamaphobia on the left wing is equally as prevalent but ignored much more. I cannot speak on experiences of islamaphobia like I have any authority but in terms of antisemitism. Wanting to abolish religion or thinking its inherently bad, hating Nazis but not defending Jews/disassociating nazism from jew hatred and white supremacy and just treating Nazis like generalised bad people, acting like gay people were the primary targets of the holocaust and the holocaust was not, fundamentally, an ethnic cleansing of Jews and Romani people, believing in really quite a lot (most even) of conspiracy theories are all examples of antisemitism on the left wing.
Left wing people thing they are so (sorry to use this word I hate it lol) “woke” and progressive but antisemitism and islamaphobia and general bigotry to religious minority groups and persecuted religious groups seems to go under the radar.

Islam: *Allows men to rape their wives. Permits men to have sex slaves. Says that a woman’s testimony is half that of a man’s. Doesn’t allow women to travel w/o her husband or a male relative.*
Liberal Muslim women when Muslim men are misogynistic: 😱😱😱

Few signs that may tell you it's a sin
1) you always feel guilty after doing that (feelings)
2) you realise your thoughts are always awful or going downhill into awful patterns. And thoughts are important coz they are linked to habits. Habits can lead to awful thoughts and thoughts can lead to awful habits. It is a cycle.
I hope we all can overcome whatever bad habits/thoughts we have regarding sins. So many times when society says "It isn't harming anyone" about a sin, that's so untrue coz the whole picture isn't being shown, your soul is getting damaged & your heart is getting numb & your behaviour might be getting angry/unkind and you can recognise that most of the times through the guilt felt. Harm is so subjective and harm/damage caused to the soul is so underrated and minimised.
Hoping we all work(yes WORK, coz it IS a lot of active WORK. Choosing healthier options and not choosing unhealthy ones.) towards healthier habits in 2023 aameen. May Allah take care of our soul health aameen.

Islam as Progressive, Reformed Christianity: 10 Reasons We Don’t See That
Islam as Progressive, Reformed Christianity: 10 Reasons We Don’t See That
Living here in Spain, for the last few months has given me a new appreciation of Islam. As some might remember, my wife, Peggy, and I are here with our daughter, son-in-law, and their five children (ages 3-14). We plan to stay till the end of June.   Our rented apartment stands in Granada’s historic Albaicin district overlooking the 10th century Islamic walled city, the Alhambra. Right next to…

The Devil is an Angel of LIGHT
People always point to a New World Order (NWO) from a political or financial standpoint, meaning, they believe a NWO will be birthed by either the super wealthy such as bankers or on the other hand, power hungry politicians. But the devil is an angel of light in this dispensation, so if there is to be a NWO, it will come about by way of religion, but I doubt whether there will be a NWO during…

The stupid converted Muslims in India and Pakistan start protesting when Saudi/UAE allows cinema halls to operate in their country.
The stupid converted Muslims in India and Pakistan also protest when Saudi/UAE allows women to drive cars or travel alone.
