NAME: Hiromi Higa / Shadow

PET NAME(S): Honey bear, Romi-bear, punkin pie, piggie, sweet boy, my man (last one is almost always said in weird babytalk voice)

SEXUALITY: Questioning / Bi (there’s no way he’s 100% straight)

PRONOUNS: He/him (sometimes she/her)

AGE: Twenty-freakin-FOUR!! (Though I’ve heard season 1 of Sk8 possibly takes place in 2019... So I guess he’d be around 27-28 now?? Good - our age gap is less than I thought 😅)

HEIGHT: 178cm / 5′10″ (looks taller as Shadow due to hair / boots... also I think this show pulls a Jojo sometimes and character heights are subjective to the situation bc he looks HUGE compared to the other characters at times)

WEIGHT: Only 73kg / 160lbs canonically but I refuse to believe that... there’s no way a hefty dude like him weighs so little. I think 170-180 AT LEAST is more reasonable for him, considering his size.

BODY TYPE: HIM BIG. Brawny and top-heavy. Broad-shouldered, muscular and somewhat toned but still a bit of chub - think rugby player build. Finding pants in Japan is a STRUGGLE cuz he’s tall and he ass too big. Skating is probably great for the buns and thighs tho

SKIN: Sorta medium beige with cool undertones. Would be SO cute with a farmer’s tan 🥺 Paints his nails sometimes. No real tattoos or piercings because he's too babie (I think he has a tongue ring only bc he lost a bet or had a rebellious streak when he was younger)

HAIR: Fluffy ginger undercut/mohawk. The depth of red in his hair changes with the lighting.

EYES: Gray, but very reflective and expressive

ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good/Chaotic neutral... I think...

INTERESTS: His manager 😂😭 flowers, flower language, gardening, music, board games, fitness / body building, makeup, drag, shoujo manga / anime, skateboarding, wrestling, languages (he speaks both English and French to some degree, and knows some Latin... I will not be convinced otherwise)... also kinda nosy and likes to learn about people. Dude’s got the gossip.

WEAKNESSES: Baseball bats 😂😭 poor baby, but for real... Insecurities, confidence, quick temper, inferiority / feeling like he has to prove himself, overthinking

COMPANIONS: Them boys!!! Aside from his own crew of followers at S, he serves as a brotherly figure / uncle / bruncle to the younger boys. Probably closest to Miya out of the main character group. Friends with Kaoru, idolizes Joe a bit and wants to be closer with both. Reki and Langa have tried to push him closer to Oka 👀

ENEMIES: KAZU (I genuinely hope Hiromi absolutely fucked his shit up and put him in the hospital too)(”Yeah I look bad, but you should see what I did to the other guy”)

PETS: No animals, but lots of house plants. I could see him having fish if anything, especially an aquarium with plants. Probably a fan of marimo moss balls 🥺

WEAPONS: 💪THESE GUNS💪 firecrackers (haemanthus bomb), laser pointer (gladiolus laser), snake ribbon things (violet spider) and apparently 80+ other secret attacks... I guess you could also count his board and the spikes on his costume??

SUBSTANCES: Alcohol (kind of a lightweight), he had cigarettes in the host club drama??? 😬 Hopefully smoking's just an occasional social thing

DRIVER LICENSE?: See above (yes - and he does deliveries for work in that car. Skrrt skrrt.)

Reki is still beautiful.

This is the only thing Langa can think about when he sees him again. His arms are more muscular now, his hair is styled into an undercut, his grin is as handsome as it's ever been, and Langa cannot bear to look away.

Technically, he expected this. It's all over Reki's social media--selfies and candid snapshots courtesy of Miya and other people he doesn't know the names of. Langa has maybe spent a little too much time looking at those photos, but it's one thing to look at him online and another to have him right in front of his eyes.

"Langa!" Reki calls excitedly, waving a hand in the air as though Langa can't pick him out of a crowd within seconds. It makes his knees go a little weak; he hasn't heard his name in Reki's voice in so long.

He can't cross the street fast enough, wanting nothing more than to be at Reki's side. To talk to him, touch him. Skate beside him.

Reki is still beautiful, he thinks, and in between the fluttering warmth, there's guilt wriggling its way around his chest.

Because Langa is not allowed to think these things.

It's been two years since they broke up and even longer since they've seen each other in person like this. It's not his place to call Reki beautiful, not anymore. He's not allowed to stare at him like this, shouldn't relish his name on his lips and remember what it was like when he could freely wrap himself around him.

"It's been so long!" Reki exclaims as they finally, finally meet on the same side of the street. "How are you?" His eyes are bright as he practically bounces in place, but he doesn't reach out to take his hands like he would have, once.

I love you, Langa thinks desperately, struggling to get his useless tongue to work. I still love you.

I just want a fic where Langa and Reki don't see each other for like two days because some family members are visiting the Kyan household or something, and they decide to meet up again with the rest of the group at S once Reki is available again. And when Reki appears Miya is the first one to see him and thinks 'oh this is gonna murder Langa's gay ass isn't it?' Because Reki's visiting cousin was a make over artist or something and she played a Dress the Reki game and sent him off into the world with a brand new undercut (which he somehow rocks despite refusing to leave his head band behind), a still healing lip ring, blue nail polish and a crop top.

And when Miya and Reki join the rest of the group Langa is competing against Joe or something and he sees Reki from the corner of his eye and just. Skates into a wall. Full sped, maybe breaking his nose in the process. Thinks he's fainted and having a fever dream right until Worried Nurse Reki goes to see if he's got any booboos and then realizes this must be real world because not even in his wildest dreams would he be able to imagine Reki like this. Miya is recording everything in the background. Shadow laughs his ass off, refuses to explain to Reki how Langa's sudden clumsiness is fun. Cherry pretends he doesn't know them. Joe is the only sympathetic one, because he remembers eyeliner-lip piercing cherry from his youth and he feels Langa's gay panic in a personal level.

Headcanons/AU stuff but its Sk8 the infinity

Langa is Genderfluid (he/they) and Gay.

Reki is Trans Masculine (He/Him) and Bisexual.

Miya is Pan.

Macha blossom is canon.

Renga is canon.

Reki almost took his skateboard and used it to smash Adam's fucking knees.

Langa has freckles and a septum piercing. (They did the piercing filter trend thing)

Langa is monotone and straight to the point so much that he doesn't even realize it because inside he's constantly in a state of gay panic.

Reki's logic is "Sticks and stones my break my bones, but that still won't stop me I need to learn this trick."

the idea of college!renga came up on a discord server and let's just say that my brain went brrr

so, uh, take this ig

first! of! all!! let's talk appearance:

i'd definitely see reki grow his hair out blame it on that official art okay. still red and wild but he's quite meticulous with his hair routine (mainly because of his job, but more on that later)

(un)surprisingly, he's still absolutely ✨ripped✨

sharper jawline and the lines on his face are more defined but other than that he still looks and acts 🤧 the same as before

also i would totally see him get a tattoo on his back (a vertical one that would cover his spine oh my god🤤🤤🤤)

moving on to the next dumbass:

langa's hair is the same. y'all can't tell me otherwise. i just know it.

the only thing that's different about it is that he got an undercut (but since he kept the length, nobody really notices)

but

i hc him as having his ears pierced. just,, so many piercings. and he makes them look v professional as well?? but he obviously takes them off during skating bc god forbid having any damage done to his ears while wearing earrings bc lemme tell y'all that shit hURTS okay

his nails are always so neat like??? wow??? they're always filed expertly in a soft oval shape and he's got really nice nailbeds. bonus points if he's got nailpolish on (even tho it's kinda messily applied but reki painted them the night before and how could he refuse his sweet boyfie 🥺🥺🥺)

lots of small stick n pokes littered across his body. definitely hides an infinity tattoo under his blouse, close to his heart 😭

oh and he's taller than reki hehe >:)

other than that he looks the same (much to everyone's surprise), but i feel like it fits bc langa used to look a lil bit more mature than reki back then, so now it's balanced out yk 😌😌

honestly? i’d love to see reki as a mechanic bUT AS A GRAPHIC DESIGNER HE WOULD BE SO POWERFUL Y'ALL. i mean, since not only does he make his own boards, but he also draws on/paints them ykyk. i could definitely see him just casually walk towards the big-ass building of the corporation he's working for at 9 am, heavy black bag full of art supplies on his shoulder, a smug smirk tugging at his lips because he knows he's the shit™. like, he's looking all grown-up and stuff. geez he'd be a sight for sore eyes 🤧

(but he’d definitely still be hired at dope during college like ik for a fACT).

as for langa..? lmao i’d see him as a starbucks barista or some shit like that during college. like, 2 or 3 part time jobs AND skating practice for national tournaments (imma assume that miya finally corrupted him or summ) AND planning vacations to canada so that he could start snowboarding again (bonus points if he takes reki with him to teach the bean how to snowboard :((( my poor heart)

funny shot of shadow! yeah ik I posted this already but I want to to include it again bc this is when it really sunk in that he had a tongue piercing. Like, I saw it in the short cartoon clips in between but somehow it never seemed to register??? also he takes it off when not skateboarding, as seen in beach episode. I wonder how the hole doesn't close up.. im not familiar with piercings and stuff sorry

oh yeahhh now we’re getting to the good shit. Gladiolus is a flower and its really pretty. its cute how he names his moves after flowers haha. Shadow looks especially cool here because of the pose and his surprising amount of hair here. Seriously how does this man suddenly manifest hair and eyeliner at will this is insane. in florist form his hair looks flat and kinda funny bc he’s just bald on the sides of his head (pls why didn't they just give him an undercut hhh) and here its all voluminous and woooaaaahhh

shadow is wearing a cape this time! if I remember correctly it used to be a tattered dark coat. this one has the S symbol on the back! he got his special cape out for the special occasion! 😎 ok forget the cape im actually adding this in for the butt. like, look.

What if the last scene of Sk8 is a family dinner at the Kyan household. Langa is staying over and Reki is very excited cause there's a family member that's been super busy with work that he can finally introduce him to.

They are hanging out at Reki's workshop being all lame and in love like usual, fixing Langa's board after his beef with Adam, which got interrupted by a Police raid again (Adam was convicted and is waiting for his sentence), when Reki's mom calls for them to come say hi.

Exuberant, happy sunshine boy runs ahead into the house and jumps into the newcomer's arms, Langa trailing just behind him.

"Langa!! This is my mom's sister, Aunt Kiriko! She's super cool, y'know, she's an inspector and//"

Reki babbles non-stop about her cool aunt and cool friend to each other. Langa introduces himself, speaking about how Kiriko's hair looks just like Reki's. They all smile, the boys all dopey and loving at each other, the cool aunt indulgent and soft in the face of young love.

They all have dinner together, the boys personally victimized by Adam and the Queen who put him away all sharing funny stories across the table, forever unknowing about the other.

There’s two wolves fighting inside me. One wants Langa to completely demolish Adam in their beef as revenge for hurting Reki so fucking much during theirs; just, go for his neck. The other wants Langa to give zero (0) fucks and drop out of the competition alltogheter because ‘skating with you just isn’t exciting, thanks but no’ cause we know our boy is an adrenaline junkie and he only really feels it with Reki so what’s the point am i right?

Which one is going to win? The one the fanfic writers feed this week, let’s go my dudes, I’m waiting for you to fed them.

I think it’s hilarious, how Reki is always telling Langa to not be reckless, tending to his wounds and the like, even though he barely gets scraps and bruises.

And then Reki walks off being beat up by a gang, ran over by a car and having suffered targeted attacks from a crazy bitch like it’s nothing.
