So.. this week was 3 for 5, bringing a lunch.. the other two days I skipped it due to the heat. Too hot to eat sometimes. Also, there was alot of ham and cheese this week as I tried the app @loblawson FoodFlash, and got almost a pound of the free from ham for 8$.. great deal, but you have to consume it fast. Saturday night special.. Not even sure what to call this other than delicious!! A couple pounds of beef fried up with, portobello mushrooms, red onion, yellow peppers, garlic, bok choy and broccoli with ancient grain pasta.. I made a light sauce using basil and Sicilian pesto cubes... added everything together, smothered in pizza mozzarella and parmesan and baked until crispy on top. Its somewhere between a lasagna pasta bake and hamburger helper!! Yummy! Pork belly burnt ends.... in the oven. First time trying without using the smoker... I gotta say, pretty damn good!! I used a smoky bourbon bbq sauce , so that helped. Cooked for about 2.5 hours at temps ranging from 350 to 275. I will be trying these again soon. So good!! Finally back to making my work lunches, I must admit between covid, stress and a few other things I have barely made or even ate lunch this whole year.... BUT, things have changed , im almost at 2 months of full pay , stress is down and I really do enjoy my own food better than most I can buy. This week : Steak and Caesar, steak is on sale at @realcanadiansuperstore for 5$ a pound!! Even if romaine prices Re high right now. Sausages and perogies from @officialfarmboy .. soooo good!! Just loving the new rapini and parmesan. Sausages with peppers and onions .. this was suppose to be a sandwich, but the bread was moldy. I've decided I'm going back to buying food daily, no more weekly or biweekly trips, I was so uninspired and wasting so much it was driving me crazy. So fresh, local, daily.. it is once again!! So... I made a thing! Hahaha I've even planning this for ages and not sure why, but took so long to finally build my potato drawer. 99% recycled ♻️ materials, everything except 24 screws was repurposed. An old skid and the wheels off a TV cart i found. This should hopefully keep my 🥔 potatoes longer as they will no longer sit on the floor. Air circulation is key! Happy Tuesday! So..... I finally made it to Ted Readers, The Joint BBQ.... and was rewarded with a massive burger, I choose the #itbetasty , topped with smoked brisket and cheeses.. witha side poutine, this was waaayy too much food, considering it was basically my breakfast!! It was really good, I ate until I was ready to pop... Hahaha It was pouring with rain, so we had the place to ourselves, which was a little odd. Still we had a great time and will be returning shortly for more... sadly we just missed the onion ring brisket poutine special, hopefully next time as that sounded fantastic. I couldn't let the leftovers go to waste, so I turned them into Nachos!! Made for a great lunch, and a super tasty way to not waste anything. Can't wait to return!!
