Raffle: Braided Crabapple Stave (CLOSED)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This raffle is for a unique Stave of braided, thorny wood that harvested from a 120+ year old Crabapple tree. It measures approximately 34 inches/86 centimeters in length and 1.5 inches/4 centimeters wide at its thickest point.
After initially acquiring the rare specimen in question, I went about curing the wood, smoothing the ends, and cleaning up some ragged branch stumps. While I usually debark pieces of this sort before working on them, the particular helical structure and profusion of thorns made me worried about being able to strip and sand the piece without damaging it. As such, I instead gave it a thin coat of handmade Dragon's Blood varnish to help stabilize and prime the wood, and then went about staining the entire piece using a polymerized oil pigment I make from Hearth Soot (Creosote) harvested from the interior of our Wood Stove. I applied layer after layer of the pigment until the bark was thoroughly coated and preserved, then used a cloth and my homemade Wisefool’s Oil (a ritually crafted oil of empowerment that also serves as a wonderful wood conditioner) to polish away the excess, before sealing the piece with my personally developed Wisefool's Glaze (a ritually empowered wood varnish made from an array of potent arboreal resins.) Finally, I gave the stave one last protective coating of polyurethane and suffumigated it with a smoke of Apple Blossoms and Dragon's Blood in a simple rite of hallowing.
While the retail price for this item is $200, I am taking the risk of setting up this raffle, in hopes that it might aid me in raising enough money to help us ease the cost of emergency surgery my dog required recently.
Tickets are $5 a piece, each assigned a number, and you can purchase up to three of them. To purchase a ticket, simply use the link below and follow the provided instructions. You will be asked to make an account and fill in your payment details, which will allow the raffle to email you your entry information, as well as automatically notifying the winner when the time comes. Participants are more than welcome to deactivate their accounts following the raffle. A random number generator will be used after ten days' time in order to determine which ticket number is the winner.
Thank you, truly and sincerely, to anyone and everyone who takes part! Please feel free to let me know if you come up against any issues! And as an aside—even if you don't end up entering the raffle, I'm sure that sharing it would still be helpful. :~)

What is an uncrossing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think a lot of confusion for many is, what is an uncrossing and how is it different from cleansing or banishing? Cleansings are a more general term. Think of it as the umbrella for spiritually kicking out the unwanted. Uncrossing are intensive cleansings focused on clearing energy. While a banishing would be cleansing focused on getting rid of a spirit, person or thing. Still cleansing, just a more specific. In some cases you may want to do a mixture of both.
This means you can use uncrossing workings or oils to remove hexs, curses, jinx, stubborn evil eyes, generational effects, ect. Anything that needs something more intensive then a quick smoke cleanse. There are a million ways to do an uncrossing but a lot of the time people add in uncrossing oils, cleansing herbs and methods they like best. Using items like uncrossing oils are amazing to build up your ritual adding in more energy to really kick out that yucky shit. Oils and herbal blends can be use in ritual baths, anoint candles with, spell jars, charms, candle workings, added into larger rituals or on the body. Everyone will have their preferred ritual thats unique for the exact reason theyre doing an uncrossing. You can get our uncrossing oil here if youre interested 👻or you could always make your own oil to use in rituals.

A handful of you may recall that I have very slowly assembled a beginning personal grimoire as a sort of foundation for my personal magical practices. Increasingly I have felt the need to replace pages and refine entire major sections. As a matter of fact, among the scanned pages that I've archived among my many drawings over the years, I've now quit keeping track of which exact pages I'm replacing. Here is a whole load of new hand-written and hand-drawn pages that I've made for my grimoire.

Elaborate ceremonial elements are unnecessary for everyday spells, charms, or enchantments. The essence, the heart, of Household Witchcraft is using things from around your home. There is also a certain level of modernization to be expected and respected. For instance, a stew pot might replace a cauldron. There are many more examples to be found online and in books. I encourage everyone to get creative and thrifty with their tools. Many Witches and Pagans make efforts to collect a few family heirlooms, antique, or well-made replicas of antique items. Such tools can be used create a connection to the past and also give a sense of generational continuation.
Tools Pictured
●Knife: Knives are used primarily to cut food or mince herbs but they also symbolically can represent severance, protection, danger, sacrifice, death, or loss.
●Chalice: The Chalice pictured here is a replica of a Nuremburg Wedding Chalice. They represent love, loyalty, and good luck in a relationship.
●Candle: Before electricity candles were an important part of life and culture. Symbolically they may mean illumination, discovery, communication, or safety.
●Keys: I keep a set of faux antique keys on a gold thread. Old keys are easy enough to find in most antique shops and a trip is on my to-do list. They connotate hidden knowledge, gateways/portals, and dominion over a household.
●Book: I love rare or antique books. "Housekeeping in Old Virginia" is the only antique housekeeping book I have at the moment. It has cleaning tips, food recipes, and lots of interesting insight into what life must have been like in the 1800's. While some of the recipes or home remedy advice we know is not safe today-- a lot of it is still useful even now.
The legacy of the Witch is more simplified but just as powerful as that of the Ceremonial Magician. We make potions with tea, grow herbs in our gardens, sweep negativity away with brooms, and follow the natural cycles of the agricultural season. And these are only a select few examples of the ways Witches make the mundane magic. The practices of Witches are as wide and varied as the Witches themselves. There is a beauty in finding your purpose and coming home to yourself. When you live in harmony with your natural gifts and creative callings-- you sow seeds of harmony all around you.
My favorite ways to bring magic into my home and my life involve cooking, cleaning, and fashion/accessories. I also love to garden whenever I have the space for it. But probably most importantly I use traditional warding spells/charms and observe seasonal Pagan practices. Thank you for reading and letting me share a little about myself. What are your favorite ancestral practices or traditions? Do you have any ways you've modernized your practice? Please share!

I made a medium-sized update to Crown and Crescent - some new geomancy sets in marblewood, olive, and walnut, a restock of an old bolline pattern, and a new wand crafted from lightning-struck oak. Come on by to take a look at these and some other lovely things!

My new ritual bell!
I added the symbols to give protection by using the symbols from Gemma Gerrys book traditional witchcraft. The symbols for fear no foe and master of spirits.
I also added the symbols for the elements and the sun and moon as they play big roles in my practice.

My husband made me yet another amazing piece of Ritual Pottery—this time in the form of a Labyrinth Stone.
Next, I will ritually smoke the clay with an assortment of precious materials—such as Ghost Pipe, Snake Skin, Thorn Apple, and Bee Comb—before anointing the piece with my personally developed Wisefool's Oil and allowing it to bask overnight beneath the silver rays of the Full Moon. Thereafter, I will utilize it in Hedge-Crossing rites.
(While photographing, a spider walked onto the Labyrinth Stone, and I was lucky enough to capture the moment by chance!)

Portal to your own Universe...The Mastana
On the path of consciousness evolution, what could be roughly called the initiatory path of becoming a shaman, a separation happens. The universe is understood under the same dynamics, but now the inner power of the apprentice is fully acknowledged, and his/her capacity is elevated to the status of being able to create his/her own portal into a personal universe. The symbolic tool used for this…

I’m nowhere near finished with the Dionysus kits but the bull roarers @hartwell_creations made for them are so perfect I have to show them off. I took one out to give it a literal whirl and the sound is so eerie and otherworldly.
