Brandon: hi ruth, brandon routh here. sorry that i missed you. um, thank you for your nice, uh, note… that i read, and hi to all the… coldatomie friends and fans, and… thanks for watching, and i appreciate your kind words, and i hope we have a—
Neal: [about brandon] yeah, he’s awesome. that dude's awesome.
BEEN HERE SINCE DAY ONE. SIGNED MYSELF THE FUCK UP, GOOD SHIT, LOVE STEELWAVE.
Okay, for real it’s so pure even from the very beginning? We get Nate Heywood, history enthusiast and a TOTAL FUCKING CONSPIRACY THEORIST. He doesn’t even know the Legends exist technically. He’s riding off his knowledge (which hey, he’s a smart guy) AND THIS GUY FUCKING SAVES THE LEGENDS. I feel like this is really underplayed. He, Nate fucking Heywood, got the Legends back. Without Nate they’d still be stranded!
And the second he makes it down to the ship, he’s all struck in wonderment, and he sees Mick. And lbr Mick is basically sleeping beauty, but awakes whenever he needs to kick ass. And Mick’s telling his story and Nate listens!!! Nate doesn’t disregard anything Mick says or crack any jokes!!!! And they talk back and forth and there’s already a surprising bond there, and I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt because Mick is usually crabby but he did just wake up from a really long nap, BUT OLIVER SUGGESTS NATE TAG ALONG AND MICK ALLOWS IT.
I mean, we know there’s character development with Mick (which might have been erased at the second half of the season but I won’t get into that) but he doesn’t really like people tagging along? from what we had seen up until that point. He had Leonard, his partner, but that was really it. At the end of season one we see he and Ray grow close which is good but he’s still kind of a lone wolf.
Then Mick flies the ship!!! and Mick trusts his abilities!!! He doesn’t undermine them!!! and we see this again during the crossover where Nate looks so damn good as Mick’s right-hand man, sitting in the seat beside Mick, and then he explains time travel, and it’s just a scene that flows so well, with Mick doing the task and Nate explaining adakj idk.
And???? Mick calls Nate pretty???? first ep FIRST EP. (i’m also coldatom trash and we get leonard calling ray prettyboy and IT’S JUST A SIGN OKAY THESE CRIMINALS LOVE THEIR NERD BFS)
NATE ALSO CALLS MICK A GENIUS, HE NEVER UNDERMINES MICK, HE ASKS MICK GENUINE QUESTIONS, (like when Mick knew what language the legion of dump was talking) and jeez, that’s so important to me.
Mick trusts Nate and Nate trusts Mick, there’s mutual respect and no undermining of abilities. look everyone, check steelwave out, it’s so worth it, it’s so good, so pure.
ColdAtom + “Do you really think I could ever replace you?”
Leonard’s sulking.
Ray isn’t really sure why; being brought back from the dead isn’t something one usually sulks about. Then again, this is Leonard Snart. He’s still a mystery, still just slightly out of reach.
No matter that Ray keeps trying, keeps sidling up into Leonard’s space, trying to make a connection. Trying to bring back that feeling he’d had in the beginning, the one where Leonard teased him, poked and prodded at him, the one where Ray actually felt like they could be friends.

My Cousin Vinny. I rewatch it at least once a month, and always have to stop everything and watch whenever it comes on TV. Joe Pesci plays Vinny Gambini, a personal injury attorney in New York; after his teenage cousin Bill and his friend Stan are accused of murder in a backwater Alabama town, Vinny has to come and save them from jail, even though he’s never actually tried a case in court before. It’s half comedy, half legal drama, both heartwarming and hilarious; my favorite Joe Pesci movie, and one of my favorite movies of all time.
