When Weiss and Blake offer Jaune to train in different ways from Pyrrha.he accepts since he does want to learn new things. Problem is that what they plan on doing with him... it is less training and more working together to win him over from the others. To the point that after the three leave the gym hours later... the two girls putting back on their gym clothes definitely implied something happened there. Especially with how they tease their master.

When he Weiss and Blake told him that they were going to teach him a new combat technique. He was excited about the new technique from the ex-heiress and former White Fang agent who were skilled and experienced in combat which made him eager in learning from them.

“A lesson you are going to need in the future with certain opponents in mind.” Blake said cat-like smile as she placed her hand on her broad hips.

Oh I just thought of the perfect idea.

Salem vs The Grey Knights.

The presence of the Grimm was not enough to warrant the arrival of the Knights as the native Hunters have proven themselves against the creatures of Darkness, now strengthened by the Imperium and slightly by the Orks who find them a good fight.

No, once they found out about Salem, did they decide to intervene.

"Ye- Oh, it's you." Salem, the Mother of All Grimm, Queen of the Dark Powers, Immortal Witch Supreme stood at her door in her favorite pink robe, pink slippers, and a mug of tea in her hand. She stared down at the battalion of heavily armored space marines. She gave a groan as she turned away. "He just had to tell you guys, didn't he?"

"Salem of Remnant, you stand accused of crimes of heresy, daemon worship, and planetary genocide." The heavily armored knight echoed from his voice box. "Your execution is to be conducted immediately, in the name of the Holy Emperor of Mankind."

"...Can I take my robe off first?" Salem replied. "It was a gift."

The roar of gunfire echoed into the castle, shredding Salem into nothing. With a wave of his hand, the leading Grey Knight ceased all firing. Stepping forward, he sifted through the ash and dust, finding nothing.

"The daemon still lives."

"I said it was a gift." Salem snarled from within the palace. Wind gathered and brought her body into existence from nothing. "Do they not have gifts on in your Empire?"

"YOU WILL TASTE MY BLADE, YOU HERETIC!"

"TYRIAN!"

"Yes, your grace?"

"Bring me my scroll." Salem snarled.

By some miracle, the Supreme Grand Mastor of the Grey Knights had returned to aid his brother-sons! Or, so they thought. Upon his great and triumphant return, he'd ordered a full retreat to their base. Upon the last Grey Knight exiting the palace, he ordered them all to give an apology- A SINCERE APOLOGY- for ruining Miss Salem's robe and mug.

"I am," Supreme Grand Master Kaldor Draigo began, "so, so, so, so, so sorry for their behavior." He then turned to his men once more. "When we return, there will be no holy scripture study tonight!" This was met with a resounding groan. "I don't want to hear it! Now march!"

"This is such bullshit!" Complained one Grey Knight.

"Children..." Draigo groaned.

"Your grace, Cinder keeps touching my things!" Dr. Watts loudly complained as he approached her.

"They were in my room, your grace!" Cinder barked back angrily.

"Tell me about it." Salem sighed, rubbing her temple. She really needed her tea right now.

Spartan's Lament (RWBY AU)

The Jabberwalker growled as it walked on all fours, it jerked from left to right. The Afteran Predator growls as it stalks through the tall grass of a nearby settlement. The monster muttered one word, an adversary it had encountered some time ago. An opponent that would stand in the way of its purpose. Its tail flicked at the thought of its opponent; a warrior in rusted armor with a broken blade and rusted shield, that sported twin crescent moons.

"K-Knight," The Jabberwalker growled, picking up its foe's scent. "Knight!" It raises its twitching claw, preparing to strike down the interloper.

But, instead, it was pushed down to the ground on its back. The monster twitched and jittered, looking up to see an oxidized spear; green rust with some semblance of copper. Then, it became surrounded by a black aura, much to the Walker's confusion. But, the creature sniffs the air, growling lowly.

"S-Spartan!" The Walker then spots the lance returning to its owner, who caught it easily, the black aura disappearing. "Spartan!"

The armored woman gripped her lance in her right hand, holding an identical oxidized shield with the left. Sporting an oxidized, hypolite helmet, she glared at the Afteran with a pair of emerald irises. Long, red hair fell from behind; some grey can be seen in it. She takes a deep breath, beginning to circle around the Jabberwalker. The Spartan crouches down as the reptilian-lupine beast sprints towards her, then lunges for attack. It was met with a harsh shield bash courtesy of the armored woman, who then tossed it. It cries out in pain as it is struck again, falling down onto the earth as the shield returns to its owner.

"Leave," the armored woman spoke with command, pointing her lance at the dark violet beast. "Now!"

The Walker hissed in protest, raising both claws, not taking the Spartan's warning to heart. The redhead simply sighed, as she then charged toward the beast. Once more, she tosses her lance at the Walker, which smacks the weapon away. She raises her right hand, glowing black, calling back the spear. The Walker sprints toward the redhead, slashing its left claw at her, only to be blacked by the shield. Staggering back and groaning in pain, The Walker was met with a jab to its chest its opponent. She pulls her lance out of the creature's chest, only to jab it repeatedly; causing the monster to roar.

"Back!" She raises her shield, slamming it against the beast's grey masque. "Back, damn you!"

Clutching at one of the wounds, the beast turns around and limps away from the warrior. The Huntress exhaled lowly, turning around to a village in the distance. A village made of paper, a place she has come to call home since falling into this strange land. She begins the long walk back, many thoughts running through her mind. It has been decades since she and the Knight found themselves practically stranded, sent back due to that damned Clock Fruit. The first months after that incident, she was angry with her partner. But, more importantly, she was angry with herself. Angered at the amber-eyed 'Maiden', and angered at the silver-eyed brat, whose plan went wrong.

At this moment, since they found this village filled with paper-like beings called 'Paper Pleasers', they were the protectors of these innocents. But, innocents who always seemed to get themselves into trouble. The Spartan felt like a slave for all of her life, a slave to destiny, a slave to her status as a famed gladiator and celebrity status, a slave to the Old Man's crusade against his scorned lover, and now, a slave to a seemingly suicidal species. As she reached the bridge, she grabbed a hold of her helmet, removed it, and looked down at it.

"How long can I keep this up?" Pyrrha Nikos asked herself, "How long can we keep this up?" She lifted her head up to the blonde knight in rusted armor, pulling a ruby Paper Pleaser from one of the sharp stones.

Then, she looked up to the black sky, seeing four lights coming down. Red, White, Violet, and Yellow; colors that they waited years to see again. Then, the thought of the Walker came to Pyrrha's mind, the Red Prince. Though it had been years since Atlas' Fall, Pyrrha still resented the four, who stranded them in this demented Fairy Tale, who left them to play the roles of the Rusted Knight and the Tarnished Spartan, who left them with a selfish and cruel child known as Alyx. The same child who poisoned her beloved, who listened to that damned cat.

"How...How long can those four stay alive in this mad place?"

RWBY: Christmas Tales

The Masked Swordsman

Blake cupped her hands for warmth as she wandered around the markets. During these four days, traders from all across Remnant would set up their stalls and bring treasures from their native kingdoms; jewels, weapons, fabrics and sweets. Blake's nose twitched as she couldn't decide what to get for her beloved. Jaune had been her friend since childhood and had moved from his original home in Charlemagne to Kuroyuri. Unlike many of her peers, Jaune wasn't a fighter. Instead, he shared Blake's passion for poetry and literature. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. Maybe she could find a storybook within the market. She moved through the crowd and tapped the shoulder of an ox faunus.

Blake: Excuse me, ma'am. Do you know any stalls that sell books?

Ox Faunus: Oh of course. They're over by the pottery. The man has a vast collection from all four kingdoms.

Blake: Thank you so much. *bows*

Blake shuffled through the crowds again, trying to fight her urge to yell at everyone to get out of her way. She finally reached the book stall and came face to face with a young tiger faunus.

Tiger Faunus: Welcome to my Treasure Trove of Literature, my dear! We have every book you could possibly sink your teeth into! What takes your fancy today?

Blake leaned over and scanned the table. Of all the books, one stuck out to her the most. It was a black and white image of a caped swordsman surrounded with twelve knights. Blake's eyes sparkled with joy. It was Jaune's favourite tale; Charlemagne and his Twelve Paladins, the namesake of his home nation.

Blake: *picks up book* I'll take this one.

Tiger Faunus: Excellent choice. That'll be 10 gold lien, please. Would you like it gift-wrapped?

Blake: *nods head and pays* Thank you.

Tiger Faunus; You're welcome and have a Merry Christmas, my lady. *bows*

Blake smiled as the book was wrapped in a beautiful white cloth. She took her present and bowed to the vendor. Her nose twitched as she caught the scent of freshly baked cakes. She followed the trail to a small, makeshift bakery, where she saw a pile of mouthwatering strawberry cream buns. Jaune was sure to love this. She paid three silver lien for a box and once again ,oved through the sea of the crowd. As soon as she left the down, she saw that the clouds had become thicker and a dark grey. A few specks of snow fell and brushed against her face. She pulled her scarf above her mouth and continued her walk along the path. The snow began to fall thicker and heavier. Even with her Aura, Blake shivered through the bitter cold. The wind grew wild, obscuring her vision and pushing her back.

Blake: Ugh! Damn it!

When the wind finally cleared, Blake found herself standing face to face with her enemy; The Masked Swordsman. He wore a blood red shitagi, black hakama and a white oni-like mask, with two black horns.

Masked Swordsman: We meet again, Belladonna. *draws a azure bladed katana* Today, you will meet your end.

Blake: *draws her jet black katana* I don't have time for this, Swordsman. You've been tormenting me for the better part of a year. Today, the conflict ends.

The two of them circled around the path, raising their swords high. In a flash, they clased and a loud, deafening clang echoed as both of them struggled to push each other back. Blake began to glow a deep purple and split into a shadow clone, catching the Masked Swordsman off guard. She tried to thrust, only for him to counter and land a punch straight into her stomach.

Blake: Agh!! *stumbles back*

The Masked Swordsman raised his sword for downward strike, but Blake split into another shadow clone. She reached to her belt and poured a vial of Burn Dust onto her blade. A flame ignited and she slashed towards The Masked Swordsman. Desperately, he tried to dodge as a wave of fire burned the snowy ground. He looked into Blake's eyes and saw that they were bloodshot. She hadn't blinked once. She was intending to finish this once and for all. They both gripped their swords with both hands and ran towards each other. Blake swung with devastating force and cut a piece of the Swordsman's mask off.

Masked Swordsman: GAAAAAARGH!!!!! *grabs part of his face* NO! NOO!!! MY MASK!!!

Blake: *sheathes sword*

Masked Swordsman: This... this isn't over!!!

The snow fell faster and the Masked Swordsman djsappeared. Blake looked down at the broken mask and noticed black blood. Her eyes were wide with panic. Whoever the Masked Swordsman was, he wasn't human.

[Arc House]

A loud knock was heard and Jaune rushed over to answer the door. Standing outside was his girlfriend, Blake, shivering.

Jaune: Blake! What the hell are you doing out tbere? Get inside! *drags her in*

Blake: T-T-Thanks J-J-Jaune.

Jaune: *closes door and chuckles* It's okay, sweetheart. What were you doing out there?

Blake: *laughs* Buying your Christmas present, silly. *gives him the red cloth wrapped present* I hope you'll like it.

Jaune: If it's from you, I know I'll love it. *kisses her forehead*

Blake: *giggles and blushes* I also picked up some cream buns. You want to have some?

Jaune: Of course! Let's sit by the fire.

Jaune and Blake sat with each other by the warmth, kissing and cuddling, as they counted the days for a wonderful Christmas.

‘The Tarnished Knight, Part Two.’ — Ironwood’s Redemption Concept (Vol 9 spoilers)

My theoretical of if James Ironwood was the extra person to fall with team RWBY, instead of Jaune, into the ever after and how I think that would work. Biggggg post beyond the cut. My posts tag for this idea: [ #The Tarnished Knight RWBY au ]

We left off with The Blacksmith.

James accepts The Blacksmith’s offer to be given the start to be who he wanted to be. She re-carves him for his second chance.

He wakes up on the beach again, covered in multicolored maple leaves. James takes a deep breath as he slowly sits up, blinking widely. He felt as different as he felt the same, one notable change is that he didn’t feel the pain. He still had an ache but he felt,,, better. More alive. His pants- once dark blue- now a charcoal grey. A dark blue tunic almost like a gambeson replaced his greatcoat and uniform. Worn Silver Paldrons and rerbraces that stopped at his elbows, tassets at his hips and thighs, his arms now matching and in a gently used silver, no gloves in sight.

He’s ticking softly, only noticeable because he can feel it. He holds a hand up to his right breast and unbuttons his tunic to look down and see the face of a small clock flanked by filigree in the metal side of his chest, ticking along with the rhythm of his heart. Yes he still has that for human reasons because he is indeed still human.

His gun is no longer a gun, it’s an axe that matches the silver and black of his old gun(s) with the filigree along the handle as well. A small blue stone set in the bottom of the pommel. He’d see himself in the weapon’s reflection, years younger. A smooth face he didn’t remember he ever had, alone in what he believed to be purgatory. He gets a helmet too, dramatic reveals and all that.

From here, he would now take the place of the rusted knight in Lewis’s story. He would realize he’s not in purgatory, but a different universe entirely.

James would not have ended up with the paper people though, this I will stray further off the script for as I’m echoing the tin man from The Wizard of Oz a little more here. He’s a forest dweller who makes a home and protects the flora and fauna while frequenting markets. We’re keeping juniper here because I love her so much except in his case she is either Ace or something else. Maybe the rabbit in the beginning fell in with him instead of running off idk. She gets silver antlers as a treat if you wanna play on the lucky rabbit vibes add a horseshoe symbol to her chest.

We’ve now approached the point where he’d be back at his original vol 8 age, beard and maybe a pony tail for vibes. And now he’s gonna re-meet team RWBY and oh boy! It’ll be ugly but also hilarious. Get ready for ‘Just James.’

Yeah Weiss still gets her mature comment except it’s replaced with a shocked but appreciative, ‘Striking.’

James is trying to get RWBY to trust him, the cat plays on the fact that they don’t.

Things go a similar way as the original story but with a lootttt more tension and we get James backstory possibilities!

In the mirror domain we get him seeing some options: maybe himself but in his old atlas uniform, or possibly Qrow in the mirror, maybe Clover. Hell both maybe, I’m just a gremlin here.

I might draw this in the future, I’m pretty content with the idea!

Lets Talk About: RWBY VOLUME 9 EPISODE 5

Alright let's jump right into it!

Overall the pacing of this episode and the others was great as has been the case with the whole of this Volume. Ilike how they explained the 'afterlife' of the Everafter or really, it's way of reincarnation.

Because that's exactly what it is, reincarnation. When their purpose is fulfilled or someone is broken they return to the Everafter and ascend to a new form and purpose. It's a nice concept that felt organically explained.

The highlights of this episode however were, as seems to be the theme of this Season, towards the latter half.

Firstly, we have Ruby talking to the weaponsmith.

I feel like every time we separate Ruby from her friends and family we're going to get her going through a crisis. Here we once again see her fall into the trap of the "I'm the leader, responsibility and blame falls on me. I can handle it all." Mindset.

But honestly? I feel like she's breaking that mindset down and not in a good way. The way her eyes go from open to half lidded and her voice becomes monotone is direct proof of that, she's saying that not because she believes it.

She's saying it because she's trying to keep herself moving one step at a time. An action that is proving to be very difficult as she sees Penny in her sword and then later on sees an image of her mother in the blade of an axe.

There's this theme of Ruby giving away or letting go of her past that seems to be playing out here and I am admittedly excited to see where it goes. The Weaponsmith telling Ruby to "Set her burden down." and saying that she's "Searching for something she doesn't know." are driving that plot theme home but it's also dangerous.

Because Ruby could also misinterpret those words as her needing to just let EVERYTHING go. A path that, at this point, may sound more appealing to her.

Now let's get to the last part of the episode i found myself surprsingly enjoying.

Jaune Arc The Rusted Knight.

I admit, I was NOT looking forward to Jaune being here. I've stated this before in a previous post and discussed it with friends but putting Jaune here could/might take away from Ruby and Co like he's done before. It's not his fault it's the writers fault for making his charcater do that but that, among other things in hindsight, has made my views on Jaune take a nosedive over the years RWBY has been going on.

So when I saw him show up I was like "Welp, knew it was gonna happen. Saw him fall, let's see what he's been up too."

And what he's up to has been, presumedly, ALOT!

I admit i was NOT expecting this. It seems time works differently in the Everafter in the best or worst way possible depending on how you look at it. Jaune has obviously been here for a very long time, beard aside there are GREYS in his hair. It's something that RWBY picks up on instantly.

Look at the mix of shock and horror on their faces. Their friend has been here all this time ALONE. They found each other quickly but him?

He's had nobody for who knows how long. He's a full on adult as of this moment and now V9 has my attention on this man, something I thought would never happen again.

Here's hoping they can keep it going forward.

Unpopular RWBY Opinions

Some of these things are incorporated into my reimagined RWBY AU(not all of them) and my original stories

1. Arkos, BlackSun, Iceberg, and Renora should have survived and get a happy ending, I don’t give a damn about Pyrrha’s name or allusion.

2. RWBY didn’t have to be a super dark epic, it’s become pretentious. Maybe more akin to Star Wars or Justice League Unlimited

3. Adam should have just been an initial antagonist who doesn't commit super horrible things, the psycho abusive ex was melodramatic and dumb. Wether he joins the good guys or ends tragically is up to anybody.

4. Maybe we were better off without the Salem/Ozma conflict and have WTCH as individual arc villains with their own minions

5. I think Roman, Cinder, and their gang should have been just morally grey found family characters like Boba Fett, some kind of gang of thieves akin to those in Baccano or something and just help or hinder the cast like Team Rocket or something but not as silly. 

With Cinder and Roman becoming a couple and kinda like a "Gomez and Mortica" pair and Emerald and Merc hooking up, and Emerald and Neo would be like their daughters and Merc the son-in-law. I might recycle that idea for one of my original stories thats inspired by Skullgirls and Baccano who's protagonist sis something of an Anti-Cinder and an Anti-Torchwick with a ragtag gang fighting against a corrupt government run by a demonic-powered mafia.

6. Maybe RWBY could have been more like a Dragonball/Fairy Tail universe instead in terms of tone and narrative structure, and that wouldn’t have been a bad thing.

7. At the very least, Ozma and Salem could have been an explanation of the origin of the world and just something that would be rediscovered overtime and Ozpin and his circle are some keepers of ancient myth or something. Like The Jedi Order or The Time Lords or something idk.

Mostly because I'm just exhausted of the "Bad Dad" trope

Have Watts have a megacorporation and be the corrupt company in Atlas instead who’s responsible for their tech and uses unethical Faunus labor in his factories(even though in secret Watts just hates everybody) instead and have a bitter rivalry with Jacques and The SDC, especially due to Jack and Arthur’s personal history regarding Mrs.Schnee.

11. Hazel should have just been a Meta-Knight like character, a good guy but on nobody’s side with a grudge against Ozpin for understandable reasons, he has bear claw-like gauntlet weapons, and becomes a rival to Yang seeing his sister in her and is the “Papa Bear” to her “Goldilocks”

12. Bumbleby is a bad ship and it’s fandom are filled with bitter shrews who use it as representation despite how toxic it is.

13. Disagreeing with Monty’s vision isn’t inherently malicious.

14. I agree with @sytokun making Blake basically a Princess and have loving parents who are also influential was also dumb. Make her an Orphan with the WF/Team RWBY her found family instead. Or I would at least give her a “dead dad” with her Mom living in Menagerie but not as a “Chieftess” aka a QUEEN. They called themselves Cheiftan and Chieftess because it sounded cute.

Team RWBY couldn't believe they were meeting the Rusted Knight, having only read of his heroics and bravery from the book, but just moments ago they saw that bravery, watching him charge into battle on his steed against the Jabberwalker.

Now here they were, inside a giant lotus where the Knight directed them for safety.

They all watched as the Knight sheathed his blade, which was strangely broken, and made his way over to his companion, a creature of the Ever After which looked like a giant hare, with antlers like a deer, and the size of a horse.

Blake could hardly contain her excitement at seeing her favourite character. "I can't believe it. The Rusted Knight! In person!" She nearly squealed.

The Knight laid his hands onto his steed and rubbed his helm against the fur of the creature. "You did good, Juniper." He said.

Ruby couldn't help but feel his voice sounded familiar yet different, deeper.

The Knight then reached for his Rusted helmet and pulled it off, revealing his long blonde hair, a warrior's wolf tail held together with a small red wrap.

Finally the Knight turned and showed his face, making RWBY's eyes widened in shock and horror.

Though gone through the tests of time, the greying of his blonde hair, the full face of beard stretched across his chiselled jaw and the lines adorning his face, there was no mistaking just who they were looking at.

"Team RWBY." Jaune Arc, the Rusted Knight, spoke.

"You finally made it." He said. Though his voice was tired, they could hear the sense of relief and joy he held at seeing them again.

Team RWBY were left speechless, shocked by how Jaune, the loveable goofball of Beacon had become the hero of a childhood fairy tale.

And horrified by the implication. They had no idea Jaune had fell into the Ever After just as they had. And from the looks of it, he had been there for far longer. But it didn't make sense! He was the last to fall, so how had he been here for what looked like years?!

"J-Jaune?" Weiss whispered, wondering if the herbalist was hiding somewhere and drugging them.

"Yes, Weiss." Jaune nodded, understanding how they may need a moment to collect themselves.

"You fell as well?!" Ruby asked, feeling another stab in her heart, feeling as though it was her fault.

"You're the Rusted Knight?!" Blake didn't know how to process this.

"How did you get so old?!" Yang demanded, not out of anger however.

Jaune nodded, "Yes, to all of you. As for your question, Yang, I think you are all well aware that space works differently here. It is not wrong to believe that time also works differently. Despite being the last to fall, I ended up here first."

Ruby realised what that meant then. "So you helped Alyx get back home."

"Yes." Jaune said. "Since I read the story, I knew what was going to happen and what I had to do. I managed to convince Alyx to write about her adventure, knowing her story would be read by all of us, and so that we'd know how to get out of here."

"But that doesn't make any sense!" Weiss shouted, the last few hours finally catching up to her and making her explode. "How could you have been the reason Alyx wrote her story yet not even be born yet?! This isn't some ridiculous Sci-fi time travel movie!"

"As I said, space and time do not follow the same laws here as they do in Remnant. And I have a theory as to that question. Have you ever heard of the Temporal Causality Loop? Alyx wrote the book I read, meaning I knew how the story would unfold so that i could help Alyx when she and I met and convince her to tell her story, so that my past self could read the book, and so on."

"Wait." Blake paused. "You manged to help Alyx get back home, so why didn't you go with her?"

The rest of team RWBY also paused to think about it before turning to Jaune, asking for clarification without saying a word.

Jaune tiredly smiled. "Two reasons. The first was that if I ended up here, I knew it would only be a matter of time before you got here as well, so I waited for you all." He explained.

The four girls felt their hearts warm by his words, but Weiss was struck with a sudden and dreadful thought "But... how did you know when we'd get here?"

"I didn't." Jaune gave the answer Weiss was dreading to hear.

"So that means, you could have died here of old age before we even got here..." Weiss pointed out.

Ruby, Blake and Yang also grew horrified by the implication.

Jaune only smiled. "I knew that was a possibility, but I couldn't leave here until you guys got here. I'd never be able to live with myself, knowing I abandoned you all." Jaune said, not for one moment regretting his choice and dedication to his friends.

Ruby couldn't stop herself and rushed into Jaune, burying her face into his armoured chest, barely withholding her tears of sorrow, feeling misery at how her first friend of Beacon willingly resided himself to a land that wasn't home, living in isolation away from his friends and family and willing to face the possibility of dying of old age, for them.

"Thank you." Ruby sobbed.

Jaune only held her, rubbing her head in comfort. "It's okay, Crater Face." Jaune snorted and held Ruby tighter, the action being reciprocated.

Yang however noted what Jaune said. "You said two reasons. What's the second?" She asked.

Pulling away from Ruby, Jaune smiled and rubbed the back of his head. "If me being the Rusted Knight shocked you, then you may want to sit down for this." He warned.

"What could possibly be a bigger bombshell that what was just dropped on us?" Blake questioned with a raised brow and hand on her hip.

Jaune laughed softly. "Well, did you ever wonder what happened of Alyx after?" He asked, already anticipating the shaking of their heads and continued. "Well, after writing her story, Alyx came back to the Ever After..."

"WHAT?!" RWBY cried out simultaneously. "But why!?" Weiss questioned.

"Is she here? Now?!" Blake didnt think she'd ever be meeting both her favourite character in her favourite book and now meeting the author of said book in one night.

Jaune’s joy seemed to vanish in an instant and was replaced with accepted grief. "No, she passed away a few years back."

Team RWBY could only imagine that Jaune had formed a bond with the girl, having been to only two humans in a strange wonderland away from home, both being each other's companion.

"But, Alyx came back for something she left out of her book." Jaune continued, regaining himself.

Before any of the girls could interrogate Jaune on his vague answer, a new yet unknown and young voice called out.

"Father! Is that you?"

RWBY peered behind Jaune and Juniper and saw a boy.

The boy had light brown skin but dark blonde hair, darker than Jaune’s, hair braided in a cornrows style. He had dark Hazel eyes with blue flecks around the edges of them.

He stood around just below Oscar's height and had a fur pellet as a form of clothing with a white longsleeved shirt underneath, on his right wrist he wore a blue cloth, wrapped around his limb.

He looked to have a bow around him and arrow quiver on his hip.

Jaune turned to face the boy with a bright smile. "I'm here." He called back.

Once the boy saw sight of Jaune, he sprinted forward and latched onto Jaune, not unlike Ruby did not too long ago.

Jaune laughed and turned back to the flabbergasted RWBY, which served to only make him laugh more.

"Girls, I'd like, you to meet Alyx's child, my son. Pyrrus." Jaune said proudly.

the key difference between jaune and salem is that when pyrrha died, jaune had friends who held onto him and refused to let go, refused to let him stay in the deep black pit of self-loathing and helpless grieving anger that he slid into after losing pyrrha—salem was alone but jaune wasn’t, and that’s what saved him.

& jaune fell last. nobody on team rwby knows that he’s in the junkyard of the cosmos with them. assuming the girls find each other pretty quickly but don’t find jaune, they won’t even know to look for him—meaning, given that he is sir not appearing in this trailer, it is entirely within the realm of possibility that jaune spends a significant portion of volume nine ALONE with the guilt and anguish he feels over his role in penny’s death, his identity as a healer and protector wholly shattered—the identity quite literally defined by his journey of healing after pyrrha’s death!—by a mercy killing he was forced into by the cruelty and selfishness of entities so powerful he simply could not defend himself against them. what im getting at here is: penny’s death was jaune’s extinction of humankind, and just like salem he is alone this time

i feel like everyone and their dog has pointed out the visual similarities between jaune’s armor and the armor worn by the knight in the trailer and it’s true that the cuirass at least looks pretty goddamn exactly like his but you know where where MY head immediately went?—here:

this would not be the first time rwby drew direct visual parallels between jaune and salem but if the knight IS jaune, or connected to him in some way, then it’s by far the most blatant example—and

i think i’ve probably mentioned before the possibility of jaune, specifically, doing something in v9 that pisses off the gods and triggers a premature return? a jaune spiraling hard whilst isolated in void wonderland feels like a jaune with the capacity to do that in spades. even under the idealest of circumstances i think jaune could probably piss off the gods enough for them to decide genocide 2 electric boogaloo is the way to handle it because, lord, it’s not like their threshold for what constitutes unacceptably human behavior is particularly HIGH—but these are not ideal circumstances and we’ve already seen how jaune gets when he’s unhinged by grief. he screamed incoherently at cinder with the specific intention of baiting her into taking her sweet time murdering him so that she wouldn’t hurt his friends. like

so all of this is very interesting for the volume i also am giving high odds of dropping a bomb or two about salem herself; it’s a suckers bet that we’re getting SOME kind of major lore reveal in v9—if only to answer the obvious question of what the hell the ever after actually is lmao—and any new information about the gods, about magic, or about salem has the potential to recontextualize everything we know now in a major way. seemingly plonking jaune into his own little arc (ahaha) isolated from everyone else—everyone who knows and loves him!—in combination with that is a very tantalizing choice.

as for THIS guy:

purple and horns says god of darkness; grey/white/metal animalistic mask evokes the white fang’s schtick of wearing masks that resemble the grimm. beige/yellowish stripes and physical body say… not the god of darkness, or at least not the god of darkness as he was in lost fable. he might be a new monster altogether—rwby’s jabberwock is a definite possibility—or we might be on the cusp of learning that the god of animals actually does exist and is in fact a distinct entity from the brother gods, which would be something of a surprise but not wholly unexpected in light of the talking animals situation?

but [insert conspiracy guy gif here] what i’m mulling presently is the possibility that this IS the god of darkness, but—changed somehow. realer, in a way? in the sense that he’s not this infinitely powerful blob of ethereal power sculpted into the shape of a person or a dragon however he pleases, he’s this… thing.

which is the possibility i like best because it—maybe—would tie in VERY well with what i’ve been thinking about with regards to the narrative endgame and like, what might have gone down between the brothers after they left remnant, because at this point i feel 50/50 about whether they stuck around each other after they fucked off or if they went their separate ways and have been doing… whatever it is that they do when they’re not slaughtering the human race lmao. and there’s the question of the relics, too, of whether the gods mightn’t have weakened or changed themselves in some way in making them. ooor—given the yellowish stripes here—maybe they took a crack at an ozma-like fusion and it’s going… poorly for them.

(another possibility i’ve been chewing on for a while—long before the trailer dropped—is that salem might have gone realm-hopping herself at some time or another, and the kids might be stumbling across her footprints, so to speak. which if true also raises the question of did whether there mightn’t be a nasty experiment of hers wandering around in the ever after, too)

But I think I might do that, just to see if I'd get anything from people who get upset at me defending my friends and their project. There have been a couple of people who have come to talk to me, starting conversations about Fixing RWBY and their issues. A couple of them were genuine, though only one I'd ended amicably because we were honestly arguing in circles.

I'm not scared of people bugging me using anonymous, though. I find it rather amusing that they get so angry that someone who genuinely loves the show would make a reconstructive project like FRWBY. They just can't comprehend anything beyond their personal feelings that Raymond loves the show despite finding it highly flawed. It's such bitchbaby behaviour, the most entitled, bratty thing I've seen in a long time.

I think the impact Kenobi has on the sequels is kinda going under going under the radar

As I saw someone else say, what makes SW spin offs good is how they can give greater meaning to the source,

Leia's meeting and connection with Obi-Wan recontextualizes her faith in him in ANH, that's obvious

But it also helped improve the sequels, it's subtle, but it's there

For 6 years we've wondered why Han and Leia named their son after a guy they barely knew/didn't like or didn't get a chance to meet

And now we know, Ben Kenobi was the Jedi knight who came to Leia's rescue when she was a little girl, risked everything to save her, the embodiment of the stories she'd heard

Of course she named her son after him

This little thing just gives so much regarding Leia and Kylo, it makes his turn to the dark side that much more tragic

And this is what we need

This is how you improve the sequels, little things that add up, providing new insights on the characters, locations, events, and organizations

My complicated relationship with Rwby.

Apologies Everyone no this is not the surprise I promise that's still in the works. Right now I just want to talk about something.

As all (except one and a half) of my followers know me for, it is the fact that I write Rwby fanfiction (very bad ones) and since I have somewhat of a miniscule foot step in my part of the fandom I just want to post this.

So to even begin my history with Rwby we need to start with something that had nothing to do with it at the start.

Death battle.

Yes. THAT death battle. The very same. And I'm pretty sure you all know where I'm going with this.

I got introduced to this series via death battle when they released Yang Xiao long versus Tifa Lockhart.

That's where I was first unknowingly introduced to Rwby. And oh boy did I forget about that series in a matter of moments. After watching that fight the only thing I was focusing on was how cool yang looked as she fucking washed tifa.

Was it rigged? Yes. Fuck yes! But I still loved the fight.

And then I watched Weiss versus Mitsuru. And yeah I also forgot about rwby after that.. for a bit. Eventually I discovered the series again on YouTube and began watching from episode 1.

Immediately the introduction caught me off guard. The story book-esc intro caught my attention and I found it... Decent. I was hoping the series would stick to this story book kinda feel but also mix in some bits and pieces of 3d.

And now to address the elephant in the room. Yes, by the time I began watching rwby there was already heavy criticism. I did watch some videos but not all of them. I didn't want my view to have a bias.

And I'll be honest, I liked the first three volumes. Including volume 4. (Yes I know the volume was absolute fucking garbage but I still liked that it slowed to have our characters get a focus)

Now i want to address something. At this point in time I was not a huge shipper it just seemed bizarre. But I did, and still do like a lot of ships. But sadly none of them are team rwby ships.

What can I say at that point I wasn't very open minded. I didn't hate the ships I just didn't get it, yet I still enjoyed the volumes despite that and I'll be honest me at that point leaned towards dragonslayer.

Ah yes the rookie Knight meets the mighty blond bombshell. My (still) two favorite characters in a ship I would have liked. Also... Fuck arkos 🖕 (I'm kidding I just didn't care for pyrrha as a character, I just fuckin couldn't. She's not bad just wish she was written better)

But of course this is a complicated relationship for the series. And now we are at my least favorite part. I did not care for volume five and all in all I just stopped caring. I stopped caring about the Rwby series because well one. sadly most of the fandom was either toxic as hell or ship based. 2. A lot of the criticism from the videos I watched made me realize this show was pretty bad. (No matter how much I liked it)

And eventually I put this series to rest. I stopped watching rwby, but it always lived in the back of my head, the vibrancy of the first three volumes, the shock of Pyrrha and Penny's death. The idea of hunting monsters.

That led me to creating beast slayer. In a sense my "first born child" and oh boy was it edgy. It still is but at that point I was in a bad spot. I am still dealing with my own self-esteem and self-hatred. But at that point during the pandemic... I was done. I was done with everything. And so I began making more promotional pictures because I didn't write at that point.

Eventually that led me to meeting my ex who I will always be glad I met (they were quite literally one of the things dragging me away from the depression of the pandemic)

But this is about Rwby. And I'll say it here so you all can quote when I'm old and grey. Rwby will always be an inspiration for my work no matter how crumby, incompetent, and outright cruel, rooster teeth is. No matter how bad the story decisions are (like the non-existent build up to bumblb.). No matter how terrible the fandom is. This series will always be in the back of my mind and telling me "just go for it". As dumb as it sounds (and even out right cheesy it is) its true.

But regardless back onto the timeline of events. At this point in time I had completely forgotten about Rwby, only occasionally hearing about it and then j saw a YouTube short showing... A group of sprites modeled after... Team rwby..

That's right ladies we are talking about my favorite fighting game!

BLAZBLUE: CROSS TAG BATTLE

I had no idea this game existed until eventually I was searching on the Xbox game store and found it and I'll have an entire different thing on how it got me into persona but right now, point is.

I loved this game. Every minute I spent playing it was another minute I would have an idea for a combo or interaction. And well it also got me back into Ruby. Once again I started seeing rwby pop up more and more on YouTube and sadly that was also after rwby got removed from YouTube. (First off fuck you rooster teeth, second off eat my dick, drink my fresh piss, and lick my heavy as fuck balls!)

But eventually after that that was also when I got on Tumblr (and it wasn't even for rwby, not even inscryption when I used to make shit for it. I entered Tumblr, because I was a fan of bugsnax. Strange how one thing leads to another huh?)

And so here I am talking to all of you. You who follow me or you who just so happen to this because I'm tagging this as rwby.

So what do I have to say about the series and what ships do I like even tho I've said it 100 times.

To answer the first one.. I.. I love this series still. It will always live in my mind and I will always remember the potential the series had. And I'm mad about it.

I'm mad this series has basically made me it's bitch and yet I still keep coming back because a strive to enjoy the series. That's one of the reasons why I'm doing the Rwby rewrite or also called "rwby: fate".

I'm mad that no matter how much I love this series it'll never get better because one the company Is horrible and two the writers are incompetent. Yet here I am standing here typing this out for everyone to read and I still want this series to have an ending but also not wanting to fund a horrible pathetic company. I'm at a cross roads because one half is telling me "they'll fail like the last 6 volumes" while the other half is screaming praying that this series gets on ending because it wants to see the thing that inspired have a worthwhile ending.

But that's everything. That's everything when it comes to how I feel about Rwby. In this long ass, stupid ass, mustard stain on your shirt having, ugly bitch making, rant son of a bitch.

Well obviously except one.
