Schnees and plank you? All right, all right, I guess I'll leave the puns to Yang for now, but I'm TRYING, okay?? I don't know about you, but I sure am glad to be back at the gym! With Christmas and con crunching for CAD and Zap, I didn't have the time to spare. Now that it's January, I'm able to get my regular doses of endorphins. And yes, I was the first one to give up on the plank. I am small and weak, and I can barely hold one for a minute. Happy New Year! Many people tend to start new exercise regimens with a new year. I'm planning to get back to the gym after Anime Zap is over. With all the con prep and Christmas stuff, I haven't had the chance to go. Regarding this shot, I've been wanting to do something like this for months, and we finally got to at Daisho! The sports bra is from @welovecolors @welovecolorscosplay, handpainted by me. Their activewear has unfortunately been discontinued, which is a huge bummer since it's all super comfortable. I made the skirt using @cosplaymccalls Kwik Sew 3661 (shortened) using a gorgeous baby blue glissenette spandex fabric with added lace trim, since it seemed like the sort of frilly thing Weiss would wear. I decided to wear my red shoes that go with my kimono because my tennis shoes, though white, are large, clunky, and pretty beaten up. I definitely missed that point along the line where people started wearing cute, slimline tennis shoes. I've had these gross clunky things since college marching band, and I still hate them. Taking that into consideration, the red shoes were a no brainer. Glissenette is honestly my new favorite fabric. It's a 2 way stretch sheer but has a tighter weave than most mesh, meaning it doesn't have those giant holes, and it comes in shiny and matte finishes in a wide variety of colors. I'll definitely be using more in the future! I honestly feel like all I did this year was sew, which is odd since I genuinely dislike sewing. It takes forever. What I like about the process are the things people tend to dislike about sewing: altering patterns, cutting out fabric, that sort of thing, but what I like most is having the ability to make a ton of awesome things. I've always been more of a planner than a doer, but this year, I did a lot of doing. In chronological order, I made: Snowpea (January) Weiss' manga outfit (February) Tabii (March) Neil (I honestly don't remember when I made that, but all I really did was alter a shirt) Workout Ruby (painted purchased items) (April) Kimono Weiss (May-July) Added lace to a hat for swim Weiss (it counts) (May) Remade the manga outfit and boots because peachskin was an inappropriate fabric (June-August) Renfaire Weiss (July) Renfaire Ruby (gift) (August) Marlinaster (October) Ahchoo (November) Workout Weiss + skirt (November) Workout Ruby skirt (November) Flannel Dress Weiss (December) Altered cardigan for Oobleck (December) Plaid vest (December) Plaid dress (December) The last two were finished just in time to wear today, which was my birthday. I'm hoping I won't be going quite as HAM in 2019, though I do have a couple of cosplans already, including Weiss' additional Vol. 6 garb, a Starfleet uniform (hopefully!!!) and a secret cosplay~ Here's hoping we all have a productive 2019!
