It is near impossible to buy anything for Sabine Lowell. Her family has amassed large sums of money over the generations. She can buy anything she wants. So when Merula wants to get her something she has to make it. Her secret skills in knitting come in handy for such occurrences. Sabine treasures everything she is given.
When Sabine wants to get something for Merula she buys something. However, she doesn't understand how money works. What's a box of cereal cost? Twenty bucks? She often overspends on gifts. Merula says she deserves it though, even if it sometimes makes her a little uncomfortable. Sabine has transitioned to doing stuff with Merula instead of buying overpriced items.

Ismelda is definitely the kind of person to make fun of Merula when Sabine is... being herself.

🍄
🍁 please?
Sabine
🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?
Sabine's home is and will always be Lowell Manor. She was born and raised there. She can't imagine calling somewhere else home. Sabine feels comfortable with Merula too. She wants to ask her to move in when they graduate but she hasn't found the right words yet.
🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?
Sabine likes meat, so stuff like jerky, meat buns, and salami on crackers. Her comfort food is her grandma's coq au vin. After Merula learned to make it she's been divided on who's soup is her favorite. She also enjoys the occasional sweet like jam doughnuts and pudding. Sabine is indifferent about cooking (despite being half French,) she just sees it as a way to get food. She is not aloud to help in anyone's kitchen. It's not that she's a bad cook, it's just that she's a force of chaos when she tries to make something. That's why any detention she gets keeps her our of the kitchen.
🍁 Where does your OC go when they need to have some time to themself? Would they ever have their own “comfort corner” filled with all the things they like? Do they have a favourite spot outside that feels like its theirs and theirs alone?
Sabine has a spot on the Lowell Manor grounds. It's right under a tree next to a pond that makes a great skating rink in the winter. When she's at school there's a spot out by the Black Lake that she's turned into a hideout.

🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?
Marie's home is the Lowell Manor. She spent two years in a hospital being sick and poked with needles, so anywhere other than there is an improvement. She understands that one day she might leave, but if it's with Ismelda then anywhere can be home.
🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?
Much like Sabine she loves meat (not as much but still.) Her working theory is that their succubus blood makes them enjoy primal things (ie. rare meat,) more. Her grandpa Dave hunts regularly and makes his own deer jerky (Marie helps.) Thanks to grandpa Dave taking Marie into the forest with him she also learned how to forage for mushrooms. As Jewish people tend to do her grandma Annie would bread and deep fry those mushrooms, another favorite. Her favorite will always be her dad's blueberry jam kurabiye. She's also a fan of butterfly tea.
Maire doesn't mind cooking. She's actually quite good. As an adult she tends to do most of the cooking. Especially when Ismelda is hard at work in her office.
🍁 Where does your OC go when they need to have some time to themself? Would they ever have their own “comfort corner” filled with all the things they like? Do they have a favourite spot outside that feels like its theirs and theirs alone?
Following the behavior of many species of birds, Marie has a habit of nesting. She finds an enclosed space or closet, uses pillows and blankets to make it comfy, and will proceed to read or nap in her nest. At school she isn't able to do this as often but she has a nice spot she set up in a corner of Ravenclaw tower. At home she has a spot in the Lowell Manor's library. It has plenty of natural light is just big enough that at least two people can fit in without feeling cramped. Perfect for lazy summer days snuggled next to Ismelda.

Note
what are some headcannons about sabrula do you have?
Merula was deeply homophobic for many years. Her parents raised her to believe marrying a pureblood man and having children was one of the best ways to give back to wizarding society. When she began to realize her own feelings for girls she got angry. She lashed out at anyone she thought was insinuating she was anything short of heterosexual.
Sabine had many crushes before dating Merula. A girl who's name she doesn't remember that went to the same ice rink as her, some girl she saw at the beach, Skye Parkin, and Yvonne Silverpot. The only one she ever let her feelings slip to was Yvonne who took her first kiss. Sabine has never seen her since. On top of that her family also taught her to continue the bloodline with a heteronormative lifestyle. Though she did end up coming out to her family and close friends before the start of fourth year in a VERY unhealthy way (they worked through it.)
Merula and Sabine both feared their feelings, but couldn't avoid each other. Eventually it boiled over and they went on a (secret) date. A month later Sabine asked if she could concider Merula her girlfriend. She said yes.
Sabine sometimes has intense depressive episodes. When this happens Merula takes her places to take her mind off things (looking for cool rocks, a bonfire, or just snuggling)
Sabine is autistic and like to stim by playing with Merula's hair.
Merula would often make fun of Sabine's pointed ears. Her reasoning being, "I can't stop looking at her ears. They make my stomach hurt. Therefore I must think they're stupid." After dating Sabine for awhile she realized she actually thinks they're cute. Nowadays Merula likes to cup Sabine's face and use her thumbs to play with them.
When Merula finally accepted the fact she is gay she had already put it in her head that she had made fun of other queer people so much that she wouldn't be accepted. Sabine helped her to (slowly) get the courage up to go to the Hogwarts Rainbow Club (queen alliance.) Merula was surprised at how welcoming they were.
Sabine is impossible to shop for. She's rich, so why wouldn't she just go out and buy whatever she wants? Merula hand makes everything she gives her, because nobody can buy a Merula original. Sabine treasures every gift.
Merula was terrified to meet Sabine's parents. She had heard about dads threatening boys their daughter bring home. But her parents were just... normal people? Sabine's dad is a bit uptight but besides that it was a nice time.

Queer OC Questionnaire
Name: Sabine V. E. Lowell
1. What is your oc's identity?
Androgynous lesbian woman
2. When did they realize their identity?
In a way she's always known.
3. How did they feel when they found out?
(Trigger warnings: internalized homophobia and a suicide attempt)
Sabine had always felt like there was something different about her than the other girls. She never really understood how they could dream about getting married to a handsome gentleman. When she finally heard about other girls liking girls it was in a negative connotation. She hadn't thought that what she felt was bad but this was a respected adult saying it.
Her family being the famous Lowells taught her that one of the most important things that she could do was continue the bloodline by marrying a man and having children. When she asked about having children with a woman her grandfather Virgil laughed and told her it was ridiculous. She never brought the question up again.
Over the years the shame would build. It wasn't just her sexuality that made her feel bad. Her weird behavior caused her family to be ridiculed. She had indirectly killed her brother John. She was the cause of the argument that made Jacob leave. She wasn't feminine. Her parents deserved better. Being herself dishonored the Lowell name. She wasn't even sure if her parents actually loved her anymore.
She tried to be the best daughter she could be but she always felt bad about who she was. She couldn't even tell anyone because she didn't feel like her problems mattered compared to other's. Eventually all the shame and guilt built up which is when she decided to end things. She couldn't deal with the pain anymore.
She was fourteen when she stole a bottle of sleeping pills from a muggle pharmacy with the intent to take the entire thing. She decided on a date when the fewest people would be home and made peace with the people in her life. When the day came she wrote a note explaining everything and downed the bottle with a glass of wine. She became light headed and passed out a bit later.
She woke up in a bed at St. Mungo's. She didn't have the strength to argue when she was offered a spot in the pediatric section of Waterhouse Psychiatric Hospital and agreed.
4. How long did it take for them to accept themselves?
It wasn't until she was being treated in the psychiatric hospital that she began to let go of the guilt. Her parents hired a private psychiatrist to help them. The psychiatrist, Dean Garth, would help her and her family come to terms with their feelings.
She still sometimes has moments where she feels less than because of who she is. She now has technics and a stronger support system for those moments.
5. Are they open about their identity? Did they come out subtlety or dramatically?
She came out in her suicide note. She wasn't expecting to live so she didn't feel like it would be a big deal. When she woke up the day after she remembered the note and felt instant regret. When she had her first session with Dean she found out that her parents had read the note and given it to him. She felt deeply embarrassed about it.
After a few sessions with Dean he asked if she would be willing to have a session with her parents. She agreed. Sabine was surprised by how much her family really cared about her. They wanted to help her with her problems and felt like the worst parents in the world that Sabine thought the only way to stop the pain was to die. For the first time in years she cried in front of them. She no longer doubted she was loved.
She would slowly come out to her friends and extended family over the coming months.
She decided to be openly gay starting on September 1 1988.
6. What were the inital reactions of their friends and family?
Overall very positive. They were more concerned with Sabine's mental health at the time.
7. Did anyone know before they came out?
Her mother had an inkling by the time Sabine was 11. She thought she had a crush on Rowan. Her grandmother Colette knew by the time Sabine was 5. When asked to elaborate Colette responded with, "I just knew." Looking back on it, her grandmother had always been pro-LGBT. It turns out that Colette's uncle had been a closeted gay man that lived a double life until his death.
After she got out of the hospital she was hanging out with Rowan and told her. Turns out Rowan already knew. Not only that, but Rowan also liked girls and identified as a demigirl.
When she told Jacob his response was, "Yeah, no shit."
8. Was it a complete shock to some people?
Martinius Lowell, head of The Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, a job that requires the ability to see minute details, had no idea.
Her oldest brother Sef came back from Switzerland to spend time with her. Turns out he wasn't aware either. He was embarrassed about never noticing.
One day when Marie was visiting Sabine in the hospital she told her cousin she liked girls. Marie responded by saying she also liked girls. That was when the girls realized they were both the gay cousin.
9. What has their love life been like?
There was a girl that went to the same ice rink as her when she was eight that made her feel strange. She loved watching her skate and talking to her. She wanted to say something to her. Then she remembered how her fellings were wrong. So she didn't say anything to her. She started avoiding her. Eventually her crush for the girl died off. They went to the beach when she was twelve and she saw an older girl she was unable to stop looking at.
Sabine joined the Slytherin quidditch team in her second year. There she met Skye Parkins. After months of training and playing together Sabine considered her a friend. Sometimes Penny Haywood would talk to Skye and make Sabine feel weird. For some reason she only wanted Skye to talk to her. After awhile she realized she was attracted to Skye. She felt awful for liking a girl again. She started to hang out with Skye less.
In the Summer of 1987 when Sabine was fourteen she met Yvonne Silverpot, a fifteen year old girl. She was doing some modeling work for Sabine's mother at the time and needed a place to stay. Yvonne took an interest in Sabine. She often asked Sabine to spend her free time with her, which she obliged.
Whenever Sabine or Yvonne were free they would be with each other, quickly becoming friends. One day Yvonne asked Sabine if she had ever kissed anyone before. She answered truthfully that no, she hadn't. Yvonne offered to be her first. This surprised Sabine. She tried to explain that girls aren't supposed to kiss other girls.
Yvonne closed her eyes and said, "I'm going to keep my eyes closed for five minutes. Kiss me if you want. I'd like it and I think you would too." Sabine fought against her instincts before she gave in and kissed her. Yvonne left a few days after that. Sabine knew she would probably never see her again.
It was late September when Sabine accidentally outed herself to Merula. She had felt so comfortable in the conversation they were having it had slipped out. It had clearly freaked Merula out. She didn't say anything. She just got up and left. Sabine sat there, marinating in her panic induced nausea. She closed her eyes and started to use deep breathing techniques.
Sabine could tell Merula was avoiding her. She wouldn't even look at her when they had potions class, even though they sat next to each other. In between classes Sabine asked Merula if they could talk in private. Merula agreed. Sabine asked her if she had told anyone, she hadn't. Sabine was relieved. She explained how she didn't want her to tell anyone. Merula agreed but stated it still made her uncomfortable. Sabine didn't like it but was glad she was being agreeable.
Weirdly Sabine and Merula started to get closer. Merula didn't seem capable of the venom she used to spew at Sabine. They even had a private sleepover to celebrate Merula's birthday, Sabine's roomates being gone due to Christmas. Merula had gotten comfortable enough to share a bed with her. Sabine had got to sleep happy that they had finally buried the hatchet.
That morning she woke up to an asleep Merula holding onto her. Sabine almost had a heart attack. That was when she had a thought; hold her back. She almost did. That was when she realized she once again had a crush. She would have to distance herself to keep her from getting hurt. She wasn't able to fall back asleep. When Merula woke up she apologized for holding her. Sabine said she didn't mind, even though she did. The day after she began to distance herself from Merula.
The problem with this being in the same house, having the same classes, and sitting at the same table. Merula often asked if Sabine wanted to hang out or study together. Everytime she would decline Sabine could see the hurt in Merula's eyes, even if she acted like it didn't bother her.
Then one day in spring Merula had enough. She challenged Sabine to a private duel at night. Sabine arrived at the location expecting an angry Merula ready to fight her. Instead Merula was quietly waiting for her. It was almost eerie. Sabine asked what was happening. Merula simply said, "Do you hate me?" Sabine would have been surprised by the boldness if it had been anyone else, she said no.
Merula then demanded to know why she was avoiding her. Sabine couldn't think of anything to say. How could she explain that she had developed feeling for her? Then something shocking happened, Merula hugged her. She said she wanted to be around her again. That it hurt not to be. Merula buried her face in Sabine's chest. She said, "I need you to stay in my life because your the only person that treats me like I'm worth a damn. I think I like you. And that terrifies me."
Sabine was in a daze. She liked her? Sabine was scared. She slowly moved her hand onto Merula's head. Sabine breathed in deep. She said everything she had been holding in her heart. She told her how special she felt Merula was. That was when a thought came to her. Sabine swallowed hard and said, "Would you like to go on a date with me?"
Merula looked at Sabine. She said yes. The two of them started to cry out of happiness. It was almost bitter when they had to part. They agreed to meet up in Hogsmeade the week after, Sabine would come up with a date plan. They went back to the Slytherin common room while holding hands.
A month later Sabine asked if she could refer to Merula as her girlfriend. She agreed.
Strangely, Sabine's never been romantically attracted to Rowan. That was when Sabine realized she had a type. Tomboys.
How do they feel about their identity now?
Sabine is significantly happier since she was able to get the help she needed. She accepts the fact that she isn't going to magically wake up one day as a feminine heterosexual and she's glad she won't. Her family likes her girlfriend and she wouldn't want it any other way.

Side A
Merula Snyde woke up to the sound of stairs squeaking. She lifted her hand to her face and wiped her eyes. She had half a mind to pull the cover of her sleeping bag higher. Sleeping some more didn't seem so bad.
Then she heard the little girl she was sharing the room with run out the door. Of course Ginny would be excited. Christmas with the family is always a good time. Not that Merula had a Snyde family Christmas in a long time.
"Merula." Merula sat up slowly. She looked to her right. Sabine was squatting next to her. She was already fully dressed. She wore nothing special, a short sleeve grey v-neck and cuffed blue jeans. Knowing her, that outfit probably cost more than anything at your run of the mill Asda. "Good morning." She said with a smile.
"Could you at least pretend it's cold?" Merula asked as she got out of the sleeping bag. The Burrow had gotten obviously colder as the night had worn on. Sabine smiled a bit more. "What are you so happy about?" Merula asked as the two of them stood up.
"I'm just thinking how adorable you look in my pullover." Merula looked down. She most certainly was wearing Sabine's hoodie. She had forgotten she stole it from Sabine's bag last night. "It's not like you ever wear it." Merula said as she pulled the hood over her head. "You can have it. I don't mind." Sabine said.
For some reason Sabine's hoodies were significantly warmer than any of Merula's. "It wouldn't have anything to do with it having my scent on it, would it?" Sabine asked with a mocking grin. "Because your sweaty B.O. is pleasant." Merula sarcastically said as she pulled the drawstrings tight.
She heard Sabine laugh. Merula did like her scent. It was a delightful flowery scent that made her feel oddly safe. Merula felt something on the tip of her nose. She loosened the drawstrings. Sabine had put her finger on it. Sabine removed her finger and replaced it with a kiss.
"Merry Christmas Merula." Sabine said. Merula smiled a little. "Merry Christmas Sabine." She said back. "You should get dressed. Mrs. Weasley wants us to eat before we open presents. Ron's getting antsy." Sabine said before walking out of the room.
Sabine poked her head back in. "Don't forget to take your pill." She said. "Did you remember to take your's?" Merula asked back. Sabine thought for a moment. "No." Sabine dug through her bag and took out a small orange bottle and took a pill out of it. "Thanks." Sabine said as she headed downstairs.
Merula smiled again. Sabine always forgot to take her antidepressant. It was weird, but reminding Sabine made her feel a little useful. Sabine always made her feel special.
She helped her feel better about herself than anyone else did. Sabine had shown her that vulnerability wouldn't kill her. That's why she was going to do something special later.
Side B
Sabine Lowell had gotten out of the shower after an early morning jog. Ottery St. Catchpole had a rustic charm that was sorely missing at Hogwarts or at home. It would be more accurate to say that she had taken a fast viewing of the town.
Sabine enjoyed Christmas with the Weasleys. It was much more enjoyable than that time she went home in 1st year. Her mother telling her family about how she had gotten her period and commenting on her flat chest had definitely sullied the idea of being home at this time of year.
Sometimes Sabine thought that her mother overstepped boundaries. Then again, maybe she had been the one to misunderstand. Anyway, the Weasleys were great to be around. Especially since Merula came too. Any time spent with Merula was enjoyable.
Sabine walked down to the living room to wait for more people to wake up. She looked at her watch. It was 7:22 AM. She heard the stairs creak. It was Mrs. Weasley.
"Good morning Sabine. Merry Christmas." She said. "Good morning Mrs. Weasley. Will you be needing any help with breakfast?" Sabine said in turn. "I wouldn't mind another set of hands." Mrs. Weasley said as she got out some pans.
After some time breakfast was ready and more Weasleys had come down. "Sabine, would you mind checking on Ginny and Merula?" Mrs. Weasley asked. "No problem." Sabine said as she ascended the stairs.
Sabine heard the stairs squeaking ahead of her. She pushed herself against the wall as Ginny squeezed past her. Sabine opened the door to Ginny's room.
There Merula was rubbing her eyes in a similar sleeping bag to hers. She squatted next to her. "Merula." Sabine said. Merula looked at her. Sabine could barely stand to see her.
Merula's bed head was adorable. Some people would say Merula's hair was like that all the time. Sabine however could tell the special cuteness Merula had first thing in the morning. Sabine smiled at her. "Good morning." Sabine said.
"Could you at least pretend It's cold?" Merula asked as she got out of the sleeping bag. Holy hell. She was wearing Sabine's hoodie. Was it possible for her to ever be any cuter? She smiled more. "What are you so happy about?" Merula asked while they stood up.
"I'm just thinking how adorable you look in my pullover." Sabine said. Merula looked down at herself. Her face got redder. Turns out it was possible for her to get cuter.
"It's not like you ever wear it." Merula said as she did her best to not make eye contact while pulling the hood up. "You can have it. I don't mind." Sabine had plenty of pullovers to give away.
Sabine knew Merula liked her scent. Sabine liked Merula's scent too, but it was more entertaining to tease Merula about it. "It wouldn't have anything to do with it having my scent on it, would it?" Sabine said with a smirk.
"Because your sweaty B.O. is pleasant." Merula pulled the drawstrings tight. The only part of her face left visable was her noise. Sabine laughed. She was an active person so there was a possibilty of her clothes smelling like sweat. Luckily her mother always made sure to cast a scent charm on her clothes before the school year.
Sabine put her finger on Merula's nose. The drawstrings loosened. More of Merula's face was revealed. Sabine removed her finger and kissed her on the nose.
"Merry Christmas Merula." Merula smiled. "Merry Christmas Sabine." "You should get dressed. Mrs. Weasley wants us to eat before we open presents. Ron's getting antsy." Sabine said before walking out of the room.
Wait a minute. Sabine went back into the room. "Don't forget to take your pill." She said. "Did you remember to take your's?" Merula asked back. Sabine thought for a moment.
"No." Sabine dug through her bag and took out a small orange bottle and took a pill out of it. "Thanks." Sabine said as she went back to the kitchen for a glass of water.
Despite what people thought, Merula was so thoughtful. She was one of the most special people in the world. If she hadn't been there with her she wasn't she could have come out last spring. That's why she was going to do something special later.
Side A
Merula was walking to the forest next to the Burrow. She was carrying two mugs and a thermos. Sabine had told her go sneak out after 9. "Merula!" She looked over and saw a clearing. Sabine was next to a small fire. Merula walked over.
"How are you?" Sabine asked. "I'm freezing my ass off." Merula said as she tightened her scarf. "That's too bad. I quite like it." Sabine didn't have a coat on. The warmest thing she had on was her new rainbow sweater Mrs. Weasley had knitted.
Merula wore a matching one. The only difference being the S on Sabine's and the M on Merula's. "Why are you asking when we've only been apart two hours?" "Sorry, it's just that we haven't been alone since this morning."
Merula looked around. The clearing was decorated. There were floating jars that contained multicolored glowing lights. Close to the fire was a small bench that was just big enough for two with a blanket hanging over the back. On the sides of the bench were tables that looked like stumps.
Merula was impressed she had done all of this in two hours just for her. Sabine picked up the blanket. "Would you mind sitting down?" Sabine asked. Merula sat the cups and thermos on the table to her left. Sabine sat down and threw the blanket around the two of them.
"I thought it would be nice to have some time together." Sabine said, snuggling up against Merula. "After all, you're the most special girl in the world. I love these little moments with you."
"Don't be a dork." Merula said with a smile. She rubbed her head on Sabine's shoulder. "You like me when I'm a dork." Sabine said before putting a kiss on Merula's head. Sabine was such a stupid, cute, dork. "But... I love being with you too."
Side B
Sabine was glad Merula was happy. She had made several plans for Christmas but in the end was only able to pick one. If the slightest thing had gone wrong she might have freaked out.
Sabine came back from her thoughts when she felt Merula take her head off her shoulder. Merula had turned to the left and was doing something.
She turned back and was holding two steaming mugs. "I made us hot chocolate from scratch. Dark chocolate, no lactose. I wouldn't want you running to the bathroom." Merula said with red cheeks. "I couldn't think of anything that would measure up to whatever you did. So I thought it would be better to make something we could both enjoy."
"Is that why you wouldn't let me in the kitchen?" Sabine asked as she took one of the mugs. "Maybe." Merula let out a little laugh. "Your doing that stupid smile again." She said. Sabine forced herself to stop smiling. "Knock it off. I like it."
Side A
Merula watched as Sabine used her free hand to push some of her hair behind her ear. Merula loved when she did that hair push and that goofy smile of her's. It was a rare treat when she showed her real one. It was significantly different than her normal rehearsed smile.
Merula didn't like how Sabine's parents had messed her up enough to make her practice perfect smiles. She knew that the two of them accepted nothing less than perfection. Which was worse, parents that could never be there or parents that demanded no mistakes?
"Thank you." Sabine said as the smile came back. The parents situation didn't matter right now. What mattered right now was that the two of them were isolated from the rest of the world.
Side B
Sabine took a sip from her mug. Merula did the same. It was most certainly dark chocolate with a hint of cinnamon. Sabine loved Merula's cooking. When she spent a couple of summer days at Merula's house she got to eat her delicious food.
"You did a wonderful job." Sabine said. "You are truly the best chef in all of Hogwarts." Merula smiled. "I know." Sabine stared at Merula's face. She thought back to February.
"It will be our anniversary in two months." Sabine said. Merula was quite for a moment. "Yeah. I guess it will be. It seems longer." She said, "I can't believe we'll be having our first anniversary." There was a sense of eagerness in her voice.
Side A
Merula's heart was beating hard. Her first anniversary with her girlfriend. It didn't seem real. She had been so deep in the closet a year ago. She was expecting to spend anniversaries with a guy she didn't love in order to seem normal.
"Sabine?" "Hm?" "Could I hold your hand?" "No problem." Merula took Sabine's hand in her's. It was warm from the mug and her skin was soft. Her fingers were much longer than her own.
"Sabine?" "Yeah?" Merula swallowed hard. "Since our anniversary is so close to Valentine's day and your birthday could we... go somewhere? Like... Madam Puddifoot's?"
"I thought you said that place was for pansies." Sabine said. "I know what I said. But that was before I had anyone to go with." Merula said. She waited on pins and needles for Sabine's answer.
"I'll take you anywhere you want." Sabine said. It was a massive relief. "But are you sure your ready for that? You don't have to force yourself to do anything." Sabine followed up with. "Yeah. I think I'm ready to go on a public date with you. I mean, I like our private dates but I want to show you off. So that everbody knows that the two best witches are together."
Merula sometimes felt that she made Sabine keep one foot in the closet. It wasn't until the start of the school year that Merula had come out publicly. As apposed to Sabine having been out since April.
Merula had felt a deep shame when she finally realized she would only ever have feelings for girls. She had bullied others that she had perceived as gay. To find out that she herself was one of them, people she had called perverts, was soul crushing.
Yet, Sabine had been there for her. She made her feel like maybe it wasn't so bad. That her life was still worth living, even if she would do it with another girl by her side.
"Merula?" "Yeah?" Sabine had started to blush. "Thank you for being my girlfriend. I love you."
Side B
Sabine had been told months ago by her mother that her feelings would turn out to just be a phase. Her father continued to advertise the sons of his Ministry colleagues as possible future husbands. It was okay for other people to be gay but not their own child. Sabine was not allowed to have flaws.
But Merula... It had been a rocky start but Sabine coming out to her had brought them closer together. Eventually resulting in Sabine breaking down and telling Merula about her feelings for her. Feelings she was not allowed to have. Feelings that could and should never be returned.
But Merula did feel the same. She liked her back. Merula, her long time enemy had become her friend and then girlfriend. She had never been happier.
Merula had kept her going. She was an important piece of her retaining her sanity. And she genuinely loved her. She was sure of that. She needed Merula to know how thankful she was.
Merula's cheeks turned redder. She squeezed Sabine's hand. "Don't be stupid. You don't need to thank me. I love you too. You helped me find out who I am. If anyone should do some thanking it's me."
Merula leaned against Sabine. "Besides, I love you more." She said. "Too bad, because I love you more." Said Sabine. "Impossible. I love you more." Said Merula. "I guess we'll just have to be here for the rest of eternity arguing about who loves who more." "If it's eternity with you, I don't mind."
"Merry Christmas Merula."
"Merry Christmas Sabine."

can i ask of 1, 3, 6 for pre-relationship, and 4 from general, and 1 from love please?
thanks!
You did not specify if you want either Sabrula or Ismarie so now your going to have to deal with both! >:3
(The Saburla portion is longer because I've thought of it more.)
Sabrula
How did they first met?
If you were to ask them then it was when Merula was picking on Rowan and Sabine stepped in to stop her. However, they don't remember their actual first meeting. It was eight years before then, when they were only three years old.
Sabine's mom and grandma were out of the country on business. Her dad was busy dealing with Death Eaters at the Ministry and didn't like having his dad watch her. Nobody was available to keep an eye on her. Martinius had no choice but to leave her at the Swanson and Sons Daycare.
There wasn't anyone at the daycare Sabine knew so a couple minutes after Martinius left she got scared and started crying.
The employees tried to get her to calm down but her age and the fact she had never been away from her family for more than an hour, she kept crying. A boy got mad at her wailing and bit her, only making the situation worse. A quite girl came over and bit the boy back. Both of them got in trouble. After the girl got out of time out Sabine had calmed down. They would play together until Sabine's family no longer needed to leave her at the daycare.
That quite girl was a young Merula. She had been mostly mute until she was about five. The girls will rarely wonder what their friend from all those years ago is doing nowadays without knowing they have that very same girl cuddling up to them.
Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?
For the most part no. Sabine and Merula didn't even want them to get together, but they were miserable trying to stay away from each other. Sabine's friends were still mad at Merula's past bullying. When Sabine suggested the "hypothetical" senerio of her dating Merula Rowan and Ben were strongly against it. Penny and Marie were discouraging but agreed that people can change. Sabine and Merula would come out as a couple shortly after. Sabine's parents didn't meet Merula until after they open about themselves.
Merula didn't have anyone to confined in. At that point she wasn't friends with Tulip or Ismelda anymore (they would reconcile sometime afterwards.) Her family was openly anti-gay. As a blood supremacist family, members that won't go on to have biological children are looked down on. Being the only child just made things worse for Merula. She can never bring herself to actually mail a letter to her parents about how she's dating a girl. Even with them being tormented in Azkaban she believes telling them about their Sapphic daughter would just make things worse.
If you had told one of them that the other would be their soul mate, what would they think?
Sabine had made up her mind to force herself to be straight for the sake of her family. To find out her one true love would be a girl would shove her farther into depression.
Merula would think you were messing with her. It wasn't possible for her to fall in love with a taintedblood girl. She was a heterosexual pureblood. Her soul mate had to be a pureblooded man. That would be the only man she would be able to love. Don't all women have to find the one man they love?
Were they each other's first anything (kiss, relationship, ect.)?
Sabine actually kissed a girl before Merula. Yvonne Silverpot was an American model that was working with Elaina Chastain Lowell's fashion brand. There was a problem with the hotel suite she was supposed to stay at so Elaina offered her one of the guest rooms at the manor. There she would meet Elaina's daughter Sabine. The girls would quickly grow close, even sharing a bed at times. It would eventually cumulate when Yvonne asked if Sabine wanted to kiss her.
Sabine was hesitant at first but eventually agreed to do it. After that the love starved Sabine treated Yvonne as if she was her girlfriend. Yvonne only stayed at the manor for three and a half weeks. At the end of that time Sabine was heartbroken. It was just casual fun for Yvonne but it was real for Sabine. Finding out Yvonne didn't feel the same was crushing. This would only add to her intense depression at the time.
Merula however had been completely untouched before Sabine. She couldn't see herself ever being with a boy so she never was in a relationship or kissed anyone. It wasn't until she became friends with Sabine that she started to realize she didn't want to be with a boy because she was a lesbian. When she found that out she realized she wanted to be in a relationship with Sabine.
So in short, by the time Sabine got together with Merula she had already kissed a girl and had a (one sided) serious relationship but Merula hadn't done anything.
Who said I love you first?
(Trigger warning for mention of a suicide attempt)
That would be Merula. It was after Sabine had confined in Merula about her suicide attempt the year before. Merula wasn't sure how to respond to her. That was when she thought that since Sabine had poured her heart out then she would do the same. She said, "You can't die yet because I love you." Sabine thought she had misheard and Merula had to say it again. Sabine quickly followed up with her own admission of loving her.
Ismarie
How did they first met?
Marie and Ismelda met because they were both friends with Sabine but they never really interacted with each other. One day Marie was having trouble with a question about magical history. Sabine suggested she ask Ismelda, the person she think knows the most about history. Ismelda and Marie got to talking and found out they had a good deal in common.
Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?
Sabine and Merula knew Maire had a crush on Ismelda long before she said anything. They didn't want Marie to chase after Ismelda as they thought she was straight and get hurt. Her parents were encouraging. Marie would have Ismelda at their house as a friend before they were together. Her parents would tell her to ask out her, it just led her to being nervous.
When Ismelda was trying to decide on if she wanted the pursue a relationship with Marie she confined in Merula. She was shocked Ismelda wasn't straight because this was a couple weeks after she was rejected by Barnaby. Merula tried talking to her about keeping Marie from being a rebound fling but Ismelda convinced her about her feelings. After that Merula gave her blessing.
If you had told one of them that the other would be their soul mate, what would they think?
Marie would get flustered and explain how Ismelda would never go for her. On the inside she would be celebrating. The girl she has a crush on was destined to be with her? YAHOOOOO!!! She would try to rationallize the possibility of someone knowing about her soul mate but she would still be excited about ending up with her.
Ismelda would characteristically threaten that person. How dare you accuse her of being a queer?! She also wouldn't believe you.
Were they each other's first anything (kiss, relationship, ect.)?
They were each others' first everything. First kiss, first relationship, first shared bank account, first marriage. They honestly can't see themselves doing any of that with anyone else.
Who said I love you first?
They'll say they don't remember, but they do. They're just embarrassed about how it happened. Marie said it in the middle of making out and Ismelda said it back. It wasn't until they were done that they realized what they had said to each other. It's now an inside joke between them (but if you press it they'll get really red in the face.)
