Hey I'm actually taking you up on the Asian film recommendations. Any genre except outright horror is a go! (:
You've come to the right person (I abhor horror and would never recommend that to anyone)! <3
I will preface this by saying that everyone should watch Fullmetal Alchemist if they haven't already LOL it truly the best anime ever. 10 stars for Arakawa! My second-ranked anime is Naruto, but Kishimoto's depictions of females is laughable at best and downright sexist at worst lmao. I recently binged Spy x Family too, which I really enjoyed!
Off the top of my head, some recommendations I have are:
Ghibli films (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for all tbh, Ghibli never disappoints): Kiki's Delivery Service Whisper of the Heart Howl's Moving Castle Spirited Away Castle in the Sky and the usual suspects :) honorary mention goes to Kimi no na Wa because I was a total wreck on the plane watching that show (and I got to visit the iconic staircase irl that inspired that scene this year, which was a real treat!).
Dramas: 花より男子 Hana Yori Dango (aka Boys Over Flowers; there are also Korean and Taiwanese adaptations of the same) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Goong/Princess Hours (a real Korean classic, also the cast is so attractive) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ King of Baking 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞 Vagabond (not horror, but there are elements of thriller! the budget for this was insane lmao and it had me so on edge I had to go through the episodes at 1.5x speed hahaha) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Witch at Court ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Business Proposal (had such a fun time bingeing this one with @tsaritsa) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Familiar Wife ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Extraordinary Attorney Woo ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shooting Stars (the male lead is so my type lmao) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Little Women (both the movie directed by Greta Gerwig, and the k-drama that came out not too long ago haha!!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tearjerkers (includes both films and dramas; this is going to be a long list because this is my ultimate guilty pleasure):
Japanese *1リットルの涙 1 Litre of Tears (warning: the title lives up to its name. make sure tissues are accessible at all times) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Midnight Sun (there is a drama and movie available; the drama lead is played by YUI, who sang FMA's 'Again'!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Koizora (translates to 'Sky of Love') ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Rainy Days ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Korean A Millionaire's First Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No Breathing (my friend and I walked out of the cinema drenched in tears lmao the actors really ate and left no crumbs) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beethoven's Virus (@nightofnyx8 I feel like you would love this, plus the OST makes me cry every time...) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 200 Pounds Beauty ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taiwanese 那些年 (Na Xie Nian / Those Bygone Years -- I think the official English title was 'The Apple of my Eye') ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Times / 我的少女時代 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As an aside, the movie adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin was actually stellar and the only film adaptation of anime that I personally deem acceptable (let's not talk about the FMA movies... 😂). Another one that will always hold dear to my heart is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Cloud was my very first kid-crush before I even knew what that was lmao).
I'm sure everyone has heard of Everything Everywhere All at Once by now -- that was truly spectacular and wacky, I loved it!
Lowkey obliged to recommend Crazy Rich Asians since it was filmed in my hood, but if I'm being brutally honest this movie was probably a 5/10 at best for my bf and I lol, I personally preferred Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby (10 ⭐️s from me). Speaking of Constance Wu, Fresh Off the Boat was really funny (also available on Disney+ I think)!
Most of these should be available on Netflix, if not Youtube/other random online sources should work (and generally have subtitles as well)! Most if not all of the above have AMAZING OSTs as well :')
Happy watching, dearest! 💕 and of course if anyone has any further recs feel free to drop them :)

Misc Marvel Fic Recs (Part 6)
mistake on the part of nature by idiopathicsmile
Steve takes in Bucky's betrayed look and Sam's confusion, follows Sam's gaze to the pile of mangled fruit in the trash can. Sudden comprehension fills his face.
"Oh," he says. "Bucky found out about bananas."
In which an American icon is mourned. But probably not the one you're thinking of.
-
The Ding Dong War by icewhisper
The year Hostess releases their limited edition Star Spangled Ding Dongs, they all suffer. (AKA no one should let Tony Stark have a credit card and history books never covered just how much of an asshole Steve Rogers really is.)
-
Look the Devil in the Face by prettybirdy979
It's increasingly becoming a world where the unbelievable happens every day. The Avengers team includes a defrosted World War Two solider, a giant green rage monster and a man who might be a God; and they battle aliens and magic on a regular basis. It's not too far fetched to believe the Devil walks Hell's Kitchen.
Matt, on the other hand, hasn't realised exactly why his new battle buddies seem terrified of him. It's not like they've even heard the rumors about him being the Devil... right?
-
Not Easily Conquered by dropdeaddream, WhatAreFears
In 1945, Steve Rogers jumps from a nosediving plane and swims through miles of Arctic Ocean to a frozen shore.
In 1947, Steve Rogers marries Peggy Carter.
In 1966, the New York Times finds the lost letters of Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes.
-
the stone's in the midst of it all by tognia
Sarah Rogers was born to fight an unwinnable war. She wonders how it could be, sometimes, that she gives birth to a boy who does not understand defeat.

and there will be music despite everything (sw/mcu au) by QueenWithaBeeThrone
She imagines it--waking up alone, scared, disoriented, not knowing who or where she is, terrified at every little thing. She imagines never knowing for sure. “Yeah, real lucky,” she echoes.
“Wish I felt that way,” says Foster.
or: Darcy Lewis, intern to Anakin Skywalker, not that either of them know that last part, and the time before they hit a man with their van.

Barnes and Rogers and the Goddamn Truth by orphan_account
There are three well-known facts at Shield High:
1. The history teacher Mr. Barnes is a stone-cold terror, and it’s not even because he only has one arm. 2. The other history teacher, Mr. Rogers, is a mysterious enigma, and it’s something to do with the body of a Greek God and contradicting stories of his past. (They’re all rumours, anyway.) 3. Mr Barnes and Mr Rogers hate each other.
Bucky wouldn’t have it any other way.

How to Woo the Winter Soldier by writeonclara
“I think I’m ready to date again,” Steve said.
“What,” Natasha said.
“What?” Clint said, lowering his binoculars. He blinked at the dumbstruck look on the Captain’s face, then followed his gaze to where he was staring dopily at—at the Winter fucking Soldier.
“Steve, no,” Clint groaned.
Or: Steve courts the Winter Soldier.

Embrace the Fire: The Avenger Games by lorata
Trust me, and I'll give you something better than a Mockingjay. I'll give you the Avengers."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Trust me, and you'll see."
Non-powered alternate universe fusion: the Avengers in Panem.
-
devil's gonna follow me (wherever i go) by Lyaka
The man who used to be Bucky Barnes lined up his shot. His finger twitched, only once, very precisely.
Help me, the bullet sang.
Ninety-eight floors below him, the bullet glanced off a vibranium shield with a musical ping.
And Steve Rogers looked up.
-
the sirens and the thunder by letege
“Hide that,” he says, forcing the words out past every instinct. “As well as you can, all right? Before morning.”
Steve stares at him blankly, like he needs a moment to work this out, then swallows once, sharply. "What's your name?" he asks at last—asks as he stands there with the pelt in his hands.
And oh, he thinks suddenly, what is his name? He can’t speak it, not with this mouth, he can’t sing it into the air like he can in the ocean. He just shakes his head; like his nakedness, it’s something he can't explain. Steve nods, just nods, his eye swelling shut and blood drying on his shirt collar, and says "we’ll figure it out."
(An AU where Bucky is a young selkie who is accidentally called to Steve and ends up staying around to help this poor, wretched kid not die.)

I think about her all the time. Sharona Alperin — Sha-ro-na. The poster girl for power pop, just a high school student immortalized in a mononym, in feverishly stuttered declarations of possession. Our Midwestern mensch is overwhelmed by fits of lust. He's begging her, pleading with her, and if you know men you know that when they debase themselves like this it's no longer asking nicely. Did she know? Well, she was just seventeen (if you know what I mean):
“Doug was nine years older than me. I was 17. And he was instantly saying things like, ‘I’m in love with you. We’re going to be together,’” she says. “I was fully in love with my serious boyfriend at the time and he was much closer to my own age.”
But that didn’t deter Fieger. The singer’s ardent pursuit was the stuff of fairy-tale rock and roll rom-com. He wooed her one night by getting one of her favorite performers, Eddie Money, to come up on stage and sing “Two Tickets to Paradise” with the Knack. But no doubt the grandest gesture of all is the song that bears her name. One day Sharona dropped by a band rehearsal and was surprised to hear them playing a new song. “When they all sang ‘My Sharona’ I was stunned,” she says. “I actually remember asking myself, ‘Did I just hear a song with my name in it? What just happened?’”
It's the stuff of SOMETHING... but it has a happier ending than most, so perhaps "fairy-tale" is not so far off. She and Doug Fieger dated for four years before she broke off their engagement, but they remained close friends. Sharona grew up, and she did what any self-respecting Jewish girl would do with her modest three syllables of fame. She invested wisely:

MUNI LONG - "MADE FOR ME"
youtube
JUKEBOX TRIVIA TIME: Despite her decades of songwriting, prior to today Priscilla Renea's only mentions on the Jukebox were in reviews for Sabrina Carpenter, Shontelle, and Akon...
[6.55]
Nortey Dowuona: Priscilla Renea had two solo records in 2009 and 2018, both good, but they sank into the ocean. In between, she wrote "California King Bed," "Who Says," "I'm a Diamond," "Worth It," "Bottom of the Bottle," and "Love So Soft." Then out of nowhere, a simple little ditty called "Hrs and Hrs" turned Priscilla Renea into Muni Long, 2000s R&B lifer. Priscilla seized her chance, dropping an EP and album both called Public Displays of Affection -- neither of which you have heard or have heard described to you until now. "Made for Me" is a neat, well-made version of what Renea was writing for Tamar Braxton, Monica, Mary J. Blige, K Michelle, Fantasia and Ariana Grande, and it wouldn't have been as good if they sang it. Her voice, wispy and light yet sharp and tight, navigates smooth little runs that allow her to slip out little phrases and simple words and imbue them with weight, where someone like Grande or Michelle would oversell or crumble. "Twin...where have you been" is such a potent, aching plea in her voice that it started another massive trend, led by this absolute icon and culminating in this little gem and this excellent performance. Muni Long is made for this moment. I hope her next album is made to be remembered. [10]
TA Inskeep: An elegant, piano-led R&B ballad reminiscent of Toni Braxton's Imperial Phase work with Babyface, this is incredibly lovely. [8]
Alfred Soto: I can hear Keyshia Cole singing this sturdy ballad about a dozen years ago.  [6]
Jeffrey Brister: I have no idea how long it’s been since I’ve heard this kind of soft-lit, radio-ready-for-2000 R&B. It’s a really nice replica of a form I don’t really hear much anymore, but nothing about it is particularly distinctive, no twists or winks or nods to modern production beyond a rolling kick in the chorus. There’s a bit more polish on the metal, but it’s the same shape as always. [5]
Katherine St. Asaph: Priscilla Renea's breakthrough arrives, by... changing her name and making a Babyface homage with few concessions to modern R&B? Given the industry's bifurcation of years-past debut artists into either successful or failed-to-launch brands, creating a new identity makes unfortunate mercenary sense. (The "Muni Long" moniker is, according to Renea, the "protector of Priscilla." My grand theory on this -- which, to be clear, is 100% absolutely not true -- is that the quote isn't in fact Vogue-feature woo, and instead she's just a Dark Souls stan.) As for the latter: Like Jack Antonoff (and unlike, say, Bonnie McKee or Ester Dean), Renea was chameleonic as a songwriter -- compare any given three tracks, say Train's "Drink Up," Selena Gomez's "Who Says," and Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" -- and comfortable adapting to any genre that solicited pop songs. (And she knows it.) That's perhaps why she can merge so well into this vintage-Monica guise. Just, uh, assume that when she says "twin" she means "twin flame." [7]
Ian Mathers: That piano sound is Adult Contemporary enough it sounds like it drives a sensible sedan, and I mean that as a compliment. As a twin myself, I continue to be quietly freaked out whenever the word is evoked in a romantic context, but other than that this is nice, especially when she gets impassioned on the chorus. [6]
Taylor Alatorre: There’s a lot of work that goes into constructing a memorable hook consisting of a single word, and unlike Muni Long I’m not a songwriter by trade so I can’t tell you exactly how it’s done. But in architectural terms, it seems to be comparable to the laying of a cornerstone, in the modern ceremonial sense rather than in the older, Biblical one. The rest of the building has to come first, and only then can the stone be slotted into its designated place of prominence. Muni enunciates the word “twin” like a child pointing at an object that she’s just learned a new word for, and the quiet simplicity of this moment, brimming with a well-earned sense of sureness, seems to embody all of the song’s desires and inspirations within itself.  [8]
Isabel Cole: A competently executed heartbreak jam about being unable to let go, maybe the first Big On TikTok song I’ve encountered where I get the appeal. “Body to body / skin to skin” is a nice interjection of remembered intimacy in the plaintive wail of the chorus. [6]
Oliver Maier: Sweet but not remotely moving. Nothing here sounds bad, but it's painfully anonymous. [3]
Dave Moore: I keep forgetting that Muni Long was once Priscilla Renea, one of my favorite under-the-radar singer-songwriters from the late '00s (Jukebox is a stone cold classic), in part because I don't usually hear her ear for a killer hook in her more recent R&B material. But this song, which sounded unremarkable when I heard it in its original flavor, turns out to be fantastic remixed into amapiano and Atlanta bass, so clearly it has good bones. [6]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: By the time we get to the final chorus, "Made for Me" crosses over from dutiful but indistinct Babyface-core to something greater – an act of pastiche so complete and artfully struck that it acquires a majesty of its own in the act of copying a lost golden age.  [7]

So I’ve decided to punish you all with a song inspired Hawks x OC fluff
Hawks x OC
Summary: Emily/OC wants to annoy Hawks with peaches song just cause she wants to be a menace
✫彡☆彡✫彡☆彡✫彡☆彡✫彡☆彡✫彡
Emily POV
“Listen I do love my boyfriend my problem is that he keeps on eating my food,” I said face timing my younger sister
“Don’t you eat his food too,” Aliyah asks
“So what if I do he shouldn’t copy my bad behavior. He shall be PUNISHED!” Emily said in a menacing voice
“ Why are you telling me this?” Aliyah asked
“Because why not inform my sister about my evil plan,” Emily said with a smile but Aliyah rolled her eyes and hung up immediately
Yeah she totally hates me
Earlier in the week Emily but a bowser costume and had a mini piano that she recently took from Aliyah
Emily had the costume on and even prepared a late one version of the song
“Babe come down!” Emily shouted and Hawks flew down the stairs
“Yeah are you doing your weird performance?” Hawks asked and wasn’t even surprised to see her in a bowser costume
Tumblr media

“Oh peach pie you was so good and just by looking at you you made me drool,“ Emily then jumped on a chair and Hawks just chuckled
“Oh peach pie yeah understand I was gonna eat you like a gremlin,“ Emily said acting like she had a microphone in her hand
“Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches. I loved you,“ Emily sand with such emotion that even Hawks was surprised
“He said peaches so many times so let’s skip to the next part,“ Emily said fast forwarding the song
“Again that pie was big,“ Hawks reminded her but she ignored him
“I had an bunny(Mirko), a fire dad(endeavor), and a arsenal hacker (Snipe) too, but I also thought no one could keep me from you,“ Emily jumped off the couch and was on her knees banging her fist on the floor
“Oh dear beautiful pie at the end of the line that bird boy stole what was mine. Oh no!“ Emily sang standing up and looking at the bird
Hawks seemed too interested in the song and she just looks away from him in the most anime like way
“Love can really make a girl go bowsong- okay I couldn’t think of a joke that would actually fit there, so we’ll just end it there,“ Emily said and shrugged her shoulders
“Woo! Go Emily I love you,“ Hawks says while smiling
“So does that mean no more eating my food?“ Emily asked
“No that just means I liked your performance,“ Hawks responded and Emily sighed
“What am I gonna do with you?“ Emily sighed while smiling

Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 39: Recap, Release Date & Streaming Guide
Tumblr media
In South Korea's long tradition of variety shows, Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy, also called Mom's Diary - My Ugly Duckling is another niche show that has made space for itself in that genre. This show began airing in 2016 and focuses on mothers. Variety shows are usually a convenient platform for celebrities and idols to attend to promote their work, be it a movie, a series, an album, or a single. So instead of inviting celebrities to their show, the hosts invite the mothers of their celebrities. Fans get the opportunity to witness their favorite stars in a domestic set-up under the supervision of their mothers. This brings out new sides of the celebrities and satisfies the fan curiosity about their domestic life. Some of the most famous Korean celebrities and stars have been on this show via their mothers, so fans are excited to see their favorite stars get up here. Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy aired on 26 August 2016 on SBS. The show has two hosts currently, Shin Dong-yup and Seo Jang-hoon. The current regular mothers on the show are Cho Hye-Seon, Kim Sun-Ja, Park Young-Hye, and Lee Ok-Jin. The celebrities with regular primetime are Lee Sang-min, Kim Jong-kook, Kim Hee-chul, and Lee Tae-sung. The show even has its theme song, titled "My Son," sung by Kim Gun-mo from episodes 1 to 167. Each episode lasts 120 minutes, and as of 27 March 2022, there are 286 episodes, including the first pilot episode. The episodes were only 40 minutes in 2019, 2020, and till June 2021, after which the program expanded to broadcast 120-minute-long episodes. Fans enjoy watching the show and learning how family interactions can be for celebrities, a side that is usually unknown to us. Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 38: Recap The previous episode Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 38, had a very interesting guest star. It was Crush who sang "Beautiful," one of the most popular K-dramas, Goblins OST. Crush came on the show to promote his new song, "Rush Hour feat. j-Hope of BTS", in which he collaborated with the incredible dancing & rapping maestro j-Hope (Jung Hoseok) from the most popular and iconic K-pop boy group, BTS. As the charming mothers swooned over Crush's voice, he also performed and danced to a snippet of his song on the "stage." The show then follows Jong Min, who visits actress Kim Gyu Ri at a hanok and follows their discussions as they get a tour of her new studio. Not only did the fans get to see Crush react to industry gossip, but they also got glimpses of their favorite star's life outside of entertainment. The episode was titled "Trip to Donghae" and was released on 25 September 2022. Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 39: Preview The showrunners haven't released a preview of what to expect in the next episode. However, since the actor from "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and Crush have made an appearance, we can expect the next guest celebrity to be Xiumin to promote his new album or a Korean Drama actor, perhaps supporting roles of people in Love in Contract. Without any guest list, it will be hard to predict, but it will be a moment of excitement for fans to see their favorite celebrities. Fans also get to see sweet bonding moments between mothers and their children, as the mothers witness their children living their daily life like in a diary. This also ensures that the mothers have a very good idea about their children's personalities, and their bonds are heartwarming to the fans. It will be interesting to see what more adventures the children go on. In the last episode, we saw one of them learn painting, so what will they learn in this episode? Or what new hobby will they cultivate? Fans are excited to follow and find out. Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 39: Release Date & Where To Watch Mom's Diary - My Little Old Boy 2022 Episode 39 will be airing on the original network SBS on 2 October 2022. The show will air new episodes every Sunday at 21:05 KST, which is 5:35 PM IST in India. If you are curious about the show and want to watch a few episodes, it is available for streaming on Kocowa TV if you are from North and South America. It is also available on AppleTV.
