I am THIS CLOSE to buying the whole Daevabad trilogy and i need you to give me the final push to actually do it :3 So. Tell me your favorite thing about it and convince me!

Convincing you to buy a whole series you have never read is not something I would want to do, but I CAN convince you to read it or give it a chance and still feel good about it. SO here we go: it has one of my fav "messed up family who all love each other but also find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict" trope examples. The Al Qahtanis, rulers of Daevabad, are deliciously dramatic and problematic and messed up, and we get to see their journey as Prince Alizayd, the youngest child and the male protag of the series, grows old enough to join their games. Seeing them all loving each other while also hurting each other in various ways that range from petty to world-changing just makes me go UGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH. Hope you have fun if you pick it up~

I don't know if you read the books but I always loved the scene in which kylan makes up a song about jarra jen to cheer Rian up and he makes him cry so maybe you could draw that! 💞

@selvaria-may-crystal I actually did read this part and it was so sweet! I also love how Kylan proudly tells Naia he made up the song!

I forgot to make Rian tear up but I’m really happy with this scene. Seeing this kinda makes me want to sketch these three interacting sometime again in the future.

OK random ask..... Uhm... Do you have a favorite book? And explain why! 💞

I have 2 favorite books! 

The first is The Ravenmaster’s Secret. It’s about this boy named Forrest who helps a Scottish princess escape from the Tower of London... if I remember correctly. It’s been a while since I’ve read it. But I remember reading that book over 10 times while I was in school and loved it every time. I found a copy for like 25 cents at a resale store so I had to grab it!

The second is Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I love Greek mythology and that series is just awesome because it’s so cool how the author modernized Greek gods and myths. Still my favorite book series of all time.

Azra has a great sense of humor but she can also have a dark sense of humor. At the height of the Garthim Wars, Azra would be the first to make a joke about it. As far as her happy/playful sense of humor, Azra will always poke fun of her friends, especially those who don’t like things that are squishy, slimey, creepy and crawlie lol

Her favorite targets are Cha’l and older/reserved Gelfling. Cha’l because she’s best friends with his girlfriend and she gets a kick out of teasing him around her. Older/reserved Gelfling because she loves to hear their screams the most lol

I picture her having a lot of laughs for different jokes and one of them would sound a bit like Fenneko from Aggretsuko when she’s being blunt lol

I remember being so excited to read acotar because the description sounded so interesting and I loved the German covers. And then I borrowed it from a friend (who for some reason really loved it) and was absolutely disappointed because it was just so bad. Like everytime I see it in a bookstore I just feel very angry😂

I’m sketching some full body sketches of everyone who had wanted me to draw heir Oc for the big drawing. I started out with these three because they are badass fighters and they have weapons lol. My canvas isn’t very large so I’m gonna do 3 character sketches per canvas, some of the newer ones may follow a theme of similarities or not.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything) 

We all know I’ll die on the ‘Kylan is Jen’s father’ hill so I won’t repeat myself about that one. :P 

But another thing, since I do RP as Jen on my roleplaying blog, is I headcanon him to be smaller than most male gelflings his age. He was a VERY small baby and there was even a fear he wouldn’t survive because the darkening had spread so much. It halted his growth and that’s why he’s small. He only stands exactly 3 feet tall, while other male gelflings reach 3′6 or almost 4 feet. 

This is only a personal headcanon of mine for my portrayal so I don’t expect it to make a lot of noise in the fandom BUT YEAH Jen is smol.

6) how is your life different now from two years ago

Hmmm 2 years ago I finally got myself on medication for my depression. I’m better than I was before, but I still struggle, a lot. 

15) what is your favorite memory

It’s a vague one but I remember just being 8 years old in my little townhouse on a Sunday afternoon and it’s Springtime outside, my mom is doing laundry, she has the windows open and is listening to country music, the house smells clean and I’m in my room playing with my little dinosaurs. I don’t have school the next day since it is spring break. Life is good. 

17) what ‘small things’ things terrify you

I’m not sure if this counts as “small” but if it’s meant to imply irrational things then it’s losing my right hand. I’m terrified of losing any part of my body especially my hands lmfao and it all started with this one episode of House, M.D where they had to amputate both of this guy’s hands. Like. I draw!! that’s that I do! That’s my reason for living! How am I supposed to do that with no hands!
