I wanted to ask, what kind of character is Azra?

Does she have a story behind her, personality, likes and dislikes, what?

Azra is a Sifan soothsayer, herbalist, and "witch." Mostly a witch because that's what she prefers to be called....but not many gelfling take too kindly to that title.

She learned much of her talents from her paternal grandmother, who she calls Gran.

Both of her parents died while on an expedition when she was a childling. As a result, she fears the open sea and boarding ships. Unlike many/all Sifa who journey the open seas, Azra stays on land concocting potions and charms. She's quite popular amongst gelfling looking to get revenge on a former lover.

Azra is most famously known for her "odd" behavior of enjoying all things creepy, grotesque, and scary. Not too many gelfling genuinely enjoy her company, but she doesn't care. She has her soul sister, Shiyoon who belongs to my friend @jack-toons

Her personality is kinda hard for me to describe. She's laid back and chill, but she has her creepy antics that make her appear "weird," but she's a fun lass to be around once she's deemed someone her friend.

Azra dislikes loud gelfling, so she avoids big parties and taverns. Although she has a great love for her friends and family, Azra does not have time for romantic love. She's not interested in it and is happy to be single!

Azra has two pet giant centipedes who are named Goldie and Sawtooth. They are her babies and she speaks about them like any pet parent lol

I hope this gives a bit of insight on Azra. She's one of my favorite Ocs- lol I have so many but I love them all.

Zela the Charm Weaver

I know I don't have the most interesting OC, mainly due to my lack of confidence in drawing skills and the fact that I don't post about her much at all to begin with, but regardless if this gets any notes or not I want to share some things about my girl 💙💙

- Zela is a half-Stonewood Sifan (though I'm sure most people know that by now from my user lol)

- Her mother Lana is a Stonewood who officially joined the Sifa after marrying Zela's Sifan father Shal’un

- She is 20 trine old when the Resistance begins

- She has two younger siblings, her brother Mar (13) and sister Tida (Ty-da) (10)

- Despite the hectic lifestyle of the Sifa, Zela's family prefers a more relaxed, domestic living. They own a ship, of course, which they live in but it is more often tied-off in Cera-Na than out at sea

- This mainly has to do with a horrific accident when Shal’un was involved in a shipwreck while on a voyage with friends during his younger trine. He was the only survivor, and hasn't been too far out on the Silver Sea since

- He still provides for his family and clan as a fisherman

- Zela found a keen interest in Sifan charms early on in life; she loves jewelry, especially the kind that holds special meaning to Gelfling

- She enjoys crafting intricate Sifan charms, even making personalized ones for her friends, family and occasionally any Sifans when her work catches their eyes, as long as they're willing to pay (the Sifa do nothing for free, after all)

- Zela usually tries to avoid much social interaction with most Sifa, especially strangers, because here's the thing: she's a selective mute

- This sort of trait is rare among the Sifa (and Gelfling in general), making Zela the target of more teasing than feels acceptable.

- There's no major reason for her being mute, she's just more reserved and prefers not to speak

- She basically gets a lot of crap for not being a "true Sifa" because of her meekness and the fact that her family doesn't participate in the super adventurous ways of the Sifa. Not to mention she doesn't have soothsaying or Far-Dreaming abilities of any kind, so she has been more often than not referred to as a "dud"

- Despite this, she lets her mother "bless" her charms (even though Lana obviously has no sense of Far-Dreaming, soothsaying or any form of Sifan magic either), because it makes her feel a little better

- Though Zela is proud of her heritage on both sides, she often questions her identity and how she fits into either clan beyond her general appearance

- She is reminded why when exploring the beaches and cliff sides of the Coast near Ha'rar and Cera-Na, when she looks out to the sea and feels the welcoming ocean winds. She feels that she's home.

- She still struggles from time to time, of course, regarding her muteness; although she could speak if she wanted to, she doesn't, and it makes her feel less worthy of having friends

- However, she does find comfort in the small friend group she has, the closest being Azra and Fleur (who belong to @thanatasia <3 )

- Zela has a drastically different personality from either of them, but they are super accepting of her choice to be silent and love her for who she is

- She's super close with Azra because both of them know what it's like to be deemed the "odd ones out" in their clan. They usually spend their time crafting mysterious charms and potions together. This becomes especially fun (if a bit terrifying at times) whenever Shiyoon (who belongs to @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash <3 ) comes around. Nothing but pure chaos ensues but Zela always finds herself getting involved every single time.

- Let’s just say the only sound heard from her in years was a scream.

- She became friends with Fleur during a visit to Stone-in-the-Wood while visiting family. Fleur came to her defense when a particularly rude Stonewood chided her for not speaking and made remark about her belonging to the Dousan more so than the Sifa or Stonewood, telling her to go back to the “Desert of Death”. Fleur just happened to be sitting nearby when this happened and you can guess what happened from there

- In spite of her flaws and shyness, Zela is one of the kindest, loving Gelfling you will ever meet. She may not be able to say it, but she cares deeply for those closest to her. <3

Some more IG stories I did a while ago! I wanna a,let a separate post of any of the ones I have that feature other Ocs who belong to anyone on Tumblr as well.

1. Azra was a shy little girl but her Gran, Inaya helped bring her out of her shell. Gran Inaya is the one who taught Azra all there is to know about soothsaying. Azra’s backstory is sad- I forgot how sad she was as a childling until I began writing this down. Poor baby. The good thing is that she’s doing much better nowadays.

2. One day I have to draw the triple date because that 100% happened and you know there were laughs and fun expressions going on. When the shipping trinity is all in one place one would be blessed with good vibes lol. This particular piece is happening on that legendary triple date, EnchantedSandstorms is running fashionably late because they are the OG ship between myself and my friend Jack-Toons lol. Fleur is excited to finally meet Sammi because Kiel definitely brought them up to her when she passed by the Sifa shores. Razer is already acquainted with both Kiel and Sammi and is the one to thank for setting them up together (just don’t tell Fleur that his intentions weren’t to help Kiel find love)

I love them so so much!!!! Although I couldn’t draw the trinity together, all three ships are so happy and in love with their respective partners. It always shows on their faces. They all have my heart!!!! 💖

3. The only thing killing this piece is that I assigned that shade of pink to Saffron and instead of me choosing a night sky I chose a pinky sunset lol. Poor baby is merging with the background 😅. Teaching Saffron how to fly is one of Fleur’s many treasured memories since becoming a mother. She also likes to occasionally dress Saffron in a matching outfit. Bless the OceanPetals family they are so sweet- all of the ship’s families are sweet!!

4. The reverse au has me in a choke hold and I am succumbing happily 😂 Reverse Takoda and Adora are fun because they are so different from their og counterparts that the OG’s would try hiding their faces. I’m still surprised that for the most part Taokda doesn’t have a sad childhood, or messed up parents/family members, or was bullied- the gentle lad escaped somehow lol. No one besides my friend knows the full length of Adora and Elkie’s childhood. We still need to see Reverse Elkie, she’s a gem lol

Before the day is done I have to celebrate the beginning of October with everyone’s favorite Sifan witch, Azra!

I think this is my first semi-full color piece of her- what??? She’s fun and chaotic and I love that so much about her. Out of all of my Gelfling Ocs Azra’s hair color is my most favorite. Red shades are my favorite hair colors!

She looks kinda tired here or maybe it’s just me lol Maybe she’s been working hard on a new potion that causes the worst side effects on the target. Azra has the worst sleeping schedules and will have days where she gets 4 hours of sleep. A habit she unfortunately adopted from her late father. The dark circles under her eyes could be either tiredness or make-up Azra uses to make her dark circles look more aesthetically pleasing to her.

What would a holiday about love be without everyone’s favorite Sifan witch, Azra!

Azra is among the few adult Gelfling OCs I have that are single, and she is proud of it! She’s had a love life but she enjoys seeing her soul sister Shiyoon and friends in love rather than herself. (I’m still tweaking her love life so it feels natural)

Aaand- would “true loves day” be her favorite day to scare coupled Gelfling? Yes. Yes it is.

This is a modern au and probably the only time we will ever see this much of her arms lol She is definitely taking advantage of the Valentine’s Day chocolate sale tomorrow!

In Thra, this month belongs to Azra and her best friend Shiyoon who belongs to @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash / @jack-toons They’re two spooky girls and they love it! This sketch was made a while ago but I wanted to post it up because it fits with October and Halloween.

In a modern AU I imagine them singing the “Hex Girls/I’m a Hex Girl” song by the Hex Girls from Scooby Doo lol

Azra’s eyes are normally not as wide as the bottom sketch. They get like that when anyone asks for curses, she’s talking about odd/gross things or she’s babying her 2 pet giant centipedes.

91: What is their sense of humor like?

This question is perfect for Azra!!!

Azra has a great sense of humor but she can also have a dark sense of humor. At the height of the Garthim Wars, Azra would be the first to make a joke about it. As far as her happy/playful sense of humor, Azra will always poke fun of her friends, especially those who don’t like things that are squishy, slimey, creepy and crawlie lol

Her favorite targets are Cha’l and older/reserved Gelfling. Cha’l because she’s best friends with his girlfriend and she gets a kick out of teasing him around her. Older/reserved Gelfling because she loves to hear their screams the most lol

I picture her having a lot of laughs for different jokes and one of them would sound a bit like Fenneko from Aggretsuko when she’s being blunt lol

I still have quite a few of these IG questions to answer. I wanted to share these four because they were my most fun. There’s another that I will post up but it will be included with any other angsty questions

The first one is a few Ocs and their taste in music. I separated them and wrote more but I forgot to watermark them. I don’t think anyone would steal these drawings but still.

Sera loves opera and takes Ortun and Tau to them as often as she can. It’s one of the few activities she keeps up with from her childhood. Ortun wasn’t the biggest fan but grew to enjoy opera and is quite the connoisseur lol On IG I had the two of them listening to a talented opera singer, Maria Callas. My friend introduced me to

Fleur and Takoda in particular like just about everything. If it’s got a catchy beat they will be fans of the song/artist/group. I had watched, Turning Red, before drawing this and had them dancing to, I Want It That Way, by the Backstreet Boys. The two of them would be those friends who sing with a hairbrush and put on a performance in front of an invisible audience lol

Azra I want to say gets introduced to anime and amvs by her soul sister and discovers a bunch of rock and symphonic metal. She has no regrets watching amvs lol She’s listening to Nightwish, Sleeping Sun. A personal favorite song my sister and I discovered one day that cemented our days surfing YouTube for good amvs

Cha’l can be an old soul and enjoys music similar in beat to Frank Sinatra. It’s easygoing and Cha’l has to have music on when he’s cooking for his family. He’s the type that can play music and not get distracted if he’s focused on a task. He was listening to, “Poetry in Motion” a song my sister showed me from a Fisheye amv from Sailor Moon! But, Cha’l also loves music that makes you want to dance! I’m getting pictures in my head- like if he’s making a recipe he’s done a thousand times he has no problem letting the music speak and make him dance. If I drew him dancing he’s be listening to either Hector Lavoe, Marc Anthony or Elvis Crespo because those artists hold specific moments I see Cha’l and his family doing

Fleur singing in the tavern! There was a commercial that was playing all the time (maybe January? That’s when I believe I drew this) and it gave me jazz bar vibes. The poses and composition were taken from a childhood favorite movie of mine. If anyone could guess it will get a digital cookie! I will say the movie is a direct to video sequel to a much better movie. I’d give another hint but the other hint is giving too much away

MY FAVORITE!!! Lol Kiel and his expressions. He and Fleur are the most expressive but Kiel is the king of expressions. Kiel is a menace to Captain Ortun and he thrives off of knowing that. I love how close he and Tau are. He’s an only childling so Tau gives him a taste of what having a sibling is like. If Tau looks like they’re in vampire garb that’s because I was looking at/thinking about, Interview with the Vampire lol

Lastly, Gelfling Viara and Podling Fleur! Something I never would’ve considered. Even as a Podling Fleur still looks like she can take anyone on while looking cute doing it lol Viara is still just as sweet looking as a Gelfling.

I haven’t posted my IG questions on here in a while. I have more but I want to draw all the other answers before organizing them into separate posts.

Here we have two very contrasting pieces.

The first is a little story on how Sera and Ortun met and fell for each other. I don’t think I’ve shared a full body piece of them but Ortun is shorter than her. They “kinda” give me Kiliel (Kili x Tauriel) vibes, mostly because of the height difference and being from two very different lifestyles. I was also a huge Hobbit trilogy fan.

Ahhh their meet-cute is so fluffy. I’m a sucker for ship moments where one character could be rambling or telling a story, and the other is just so enamored. Like, they’re listening with the sharpest ears and enjoying the look of their partner glow as they share a story.

The second is Maeve being very angry. Maeve never had super strong positive feelings about the Skeksis but after certain events happen she definitely wants to take revenge like Tavra. I believe out of all my Ocs, Maeve has some of the worst things happen to her. Other characters eventually get a taste of what life is like during the Garthim Wars but I don’t have anything solidified.

Sera is a close second for other reasons prior to the events of AoR. Yeah, Maeve “almost” becomes another Gelfling while she’s processing things. I hate the Garthim Wars.

I asked IG what Disney characters fit/remind them of my Gelfling and I had to share this one as it is.

I will most likely post up a collection of the Gelfling x Disney but our Spooky Queen Azra as Ursula has to be her standalone post. It’s sketchy but I LOVE the colors and composition. The reference behind this one was the “Ariel’s Grotto” ride with the Ursula animatronic.

My only regret in this one is not adding Azra’s centipede babies as Flotsam and Jetsam! Like, Ursula and Azra are so similar except that Azra doesn’t play dirty and welcomes the natural chaos of events.

Introducing Azra’s Gran from her father’s side, aka the more eccentric side of the family lol I had to put her side by side with the most recent drawing of Azra I have. Right now Azra’s Gran doesn’t have a name.

There is a reason for her creation what I can say is that she is a Songteller of sorts. We’ll learn more about her in due time.

She’s that unapologetic type of Grandmother who doesn’t worry about who she embarrasses or annoys. She’s a feisty old gal who is also well versed in potions and concoctions. She taught her son what she learned in the hopes that he would teach Azra, but Thra had other plans. Gran taught Azra all she knows and has learned a few new things from Azra.

She is Azra’s role model although she isn’t AS creepy as Azra is. She does still give off a witchy aura about her.

@accursed-one The moment Azra catches wind of Eri having a pet Rakkida, she will be the first one to pet Vatuú so calmly lol

I had to draw the spooky witch, she loves all creatures of Thra that are ugly, scary and misunderstood. Here we also have a rare soft expression on Azra! I might do another one and reblog it after I get the last two asks done because there is one Oc who will give Eri the reaction she’s looking for lol but I had to draw my girl Azra!

This week had proven to be a big burn out week thanks to my job. (I won’t get into it because it’s been a lot of things bunched up into one) So I did some quick IG questions. Here are the ones that were related to all my Stonewood and Stonesan answers, featuring Azra!

Thankfully the Starbucks in Barnes and Nobles was open so I was able to do a super sketchy sketch of Maeve and Bhihaar enjoying a little romantic ride. In her youth Maeve was a rascal and one of her dates with Bhihaar involved them sneaking to the Castle Guard stables and stealing a Landstrider for the night. If you’ve seen the “Lion King 2” the scene where Kiara and Kovu help scare the birds for Timon and Pumbaa, that is them. Maeve being super into it and Bhihaar being a bit awkward at first before fully having fun.

Azra is one tough little lady but don’t approach her with a Landstrider. She’s terrified of the idea of getting squashed; one reason why you’ll never find her on a ship (she doesn’t like cramped spaces) and just the sight of a lone Landstrider gets her heart racing. Only Gelfling super close to Azra know about that tidbit and the first one is her soul sister. If you want to be on Azra’s good side, never surprise her with Landstriders.

Tore has quickly become such an interesting character and believe me I have a bunch of questions to answer about him. I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s cookin’ with Tore! Back to the IG story. When Tore isn’t being a skirt chaser he can be pretty fun. He balances goofing around and seriousness at the castle guard really well. It’s a dream of his to be a Captain and he wants to make his parents proud (I believe his family puts a lot of pressure on him since he’s at the Castle).

And finally Fleur! She hates tithes. I could imagine she’s told her tithes aren’t good enough sometimes, and because she forgets she’ll look like the anime trope of a character running out the house with toast in their mouth lol Prior to the resistance she’s very indifferent to the Skeksis but does not like the General at all and she admires the Ornamentalist.
