[Video ID: a grey tabby cat curled up asleep on a blanket. She meows in her sleep, her voice sounding raspy. /end]
Here's the video I promised. This is Chico, the cat I had for the majority of my life (we had her for 21 years and estimate she was 23 when she passed away a few years ago). She had a voice like Marge Simpson, or like someone who'd smoked a pack a day for years. And in about 2019 or 2020, she went through a phase where she meowed in her sleep.
I stumbled across the video on Facebook a couple weeks ago and got nostalgic hearing her voice. Her default state was being so loud and brash that every cat I've met since has seemed like they're whispering in comparison. She was very cuddly and patient (she tolerated a lot as long as she got cuddles for it). She loved her humans and always insisted on being near them
They are a bonded pair who sadly lost their owner when the owner passed away! They are both seniors, loving and like soft pets and laps! Avatar is a little more shy and needs time to open up. Both are gentle and mellow and good with other kitties! Via RappCats, Flint Hill, VA
Update on my stupid idiot cat: Probably has anemia from how many blood draws they did when in hospital, and it hasn't regenerated yet but they believe it will. Is back to slapping shit off the side when she's hungry. The internal med doctor was shocked by how good her hind legs recovered.
My friend's cat Samuel Whiskers, who I had bonded with over the past few years, went missing a couple of months ago. He's old and was looking a little frail so everyone thought that he went to find solitude to pass on.
I was invited out on a trip this evening by my friend and their mum and we stopped by their house before we headed off and just as we were about to leave Sam just shows up in the garden.
I'm very happy to say that he's back home safe. He's still looking a bit boney but only time will tell if he's ok.
This is Captain Jack. He is baby right up until he's a vicious predator because I had the audacity to work out in the same room he's in.
That is his Squishmallow. He is spoiled. I included a baby picture because that tiny face (it's the first time I met him, at the rescue, in 2014). He likes riding on my shoulder while pretending he's a scarf. In some lighting, he looks black and grey, and in others, you can see his brown highlights. He doesn't like having his picture taken, and if he catches me, he stomps off (or knocks the phone out of my hand).
Mesmerizing KissKiss is a sweet senior seeking a furever home and a lap to call her very own as someone's one and only! She would do good in an adult only home or a home with older children. She is 15 years old, but still enjoys a good play time session with her purrson! She likes to be close to her people, finding a comfortable spot nearby wherever they are. She is also very chatty and is known to exchange meows and chirps with you! She does have hyperthyroidism and arthritis, but is on medication and a monthly shot to help her feel in tip-top shape!
