Main 6 with MC in the snow (HCs)

(modern au - these got long-ish so portia, muriel, and lucio are under the cut!)

Asra

Don’t lose him in the snow because asra’s hair is snow so be sure to keep your asra near you at All Times

snow snakes because faust (later when you facetime her, coz she’s being babysat by muriel, and show her the pictures of the snow snake she’s ecstatic its adorable “twins!”)

He always makes sure you’re bundled up enough but show the slightest shiver and he’s piling more layers on top

if you two go tobogganing down together, asra doesn’t realise anything he’s just kinda cuddling into you and ignoring how fast you’re going down

“asra i think we’re gonna fall” “hm??” asra we’re gonna fall ohmyg--” “you’re so warm y/n” “a s r a”

he says so many stupid snow related pick up lines tho

e.g. “asra where’s your scarf??” “hmm... oh looks like it lost it... can i wrap you around me instead?” “... asra did you lose it on purpose”

or, you two make a snow angel “you’re the real angel here y/n”

Warm up cuddles later on!! Because you gotta!!

Depending on your skills, asra can either a) pretend he sucks at skiing etc. or whatever just so you can teach touch him a bit or b) become your teacher to “correct” your stance just so he can teach touch you a bit - he’s flexible like that

And you know he’s playing but it’s a good game

Nadia

Grace elegance and beauty even in the freezing cold

shes so happy to be able to have time with you in the snow because she’s so far away from her responsibilities and it’s just the two of you

You two make a fabulous snowman that … honestly looks really good wow

But the best part is not even out in the snow it’s when you’re both inside and you’re sipping your hot drink and nadia’s smiling at you and you’re like ??? and she just goes “You look charming MC” and you don’t quite believe her because your nose is running and your eyes are watery from the cold but nadia is so genuine that you’re not flushing just from the cold anymore

She’s super supportive when you go skiing/whatevering down and takes loads of pictures and videos and tells you you were amazing even if she’s already a pro at it

if you fall, nadia makes sure you’re alright first and foremost and frets just a bit before you reassure her you’re fine

if she falls (if that’s possible) she laughs it off and asks you to teach her with a very sly but subtle smile that makes you go >.>

on the snow lifts, she looks at you like flynn looked at rapunzal in that one tangled scene as you’re looking at the scenery

Julian

Snowball fights but julianised. So like every time you get a hit in he’s crying out in pain and dramatically falling to the ground because of course he is

You two probably reenact a death scene and it’s very very dramatic

“MC… remember i love you… my dear my sun my stars … not even the harsh coldness of this weapon of snow … could ever erase your warmth from my heart”

If they’re there, mazelinka and portia are not impressed but they do remark that you two are a match made in heaven considering you indulge in his drama

A few passerbys probably go wtf but it’s okay because you’re having fun with your dear, sun, and stars

And he does exude a sort of charisma so some kids aren’t afraid of taking a shot as well and its hilarious for them when he “dies” so this leads to a huge game of snowball fights and julian thinking he cant wait to have fun like this with your future kids

Going down the hill in whatever form more than likely ends up with julian on the ground with a face full of snow because he tried to do a trick five levels higher than his own

julian probably says stupid snow pick up lines like asra but his make you roll your eyes when he says it because he’s so smug and dramatic saying them

Portia

You two do everything there is to do in the snow

snow angels turn into snowball fights with portia making impressive fortresses and throwing snowballs with more force than someone her height should be able to use that turn into snowmen that collapse because you two are really just chucking as much snow as possible into one huge pile before just sculpting it into this vague humanoid shape that you two take one look at and go ...

“it kinda reminds me of vlastomil!! ” “maybe volta if you tilt your head..?” “oh! you’re so right y/n!” *snow figure collapses* both of you, in sync: “vulgora”

Go tobogganing down together and portia’s laughs and squeals are enough to last you the whole year who needs warm clothes or fireplaces when portia is the sun herself

of course that’s before she uses your weights to speed up as you go down and inevitably crash and burn and now she’s not so much squealing but screaming but still in joy let’s be real and now you’re not so much warm but panicking

The snow lift is fun but hopefully you’re not afraid of heights because portia unintentionally (or intentionally…) rocks your seat as she waves to people down below and probably gives you a mini heart attack when she holds the phone over the edge to take pictures

Muriel

You two are in your own little corner because there’s a lot of people so you should definitely find a quiet place but not to worry inanna is with you of course and the whole experience is very very soft and wholesome with muriel

the only person you’d leave the snow super unharmed with. everyone else are varying degrees of a mess

He won’t do snowball fights but if you join in with someone else’s he may be coaxed into making snowballs for you to launch from behind your little snow fortress that has to be big to cover your mountain boyfriend

comment on how adorable he is in his seventeen layers of clothing and he’ll shortcircuit like. “!!!! w-what?? ...it’s-it’s cold. stop smiling.”

Snow angels are just sad comparisons of your angel to his, really, and you have to convince him to do it because why?? whats the point of that??

and that’s if inanna doesn’t come over and trample them as soon as you two finish and get up because she’s curious

You two try to make a snow companion for her but the resemblance is … not uncanny

Still it’s enough to get pictures!!

Take the opportunity to cuddle more than usual indoors because you can use the excuse that you’re “cold so let’s cuddle” and maybe some puppy dog eyes thrown in so muriel’s conflicted but ultimately kind heart is compelled to warm you up

Lucio

snowball fights start off with one innocent ball that is a bit rougher than you’d like and then it snowballs into something bordering on vicious - people steer their families away from you two

at first he was just trying to annoy you but assuming you fought back, it is so on - good luck

If lucio wins he’s rubbing it in your face but if you win? He’s playing it off like “well it’s just a game anyway!” sure it is lucio sure it is

if a stranger throws a snowball at you, whether intentionally or not, he’s ready to protect you even from a little kid. no one can hit you with snowballs but him thank you very much

Snowboarding, skiing, whatever it is he wants to get to the bottom first. and lucio might not even be trying to win against you - someone passes him and he’s speeding the hell up

Take the snow lifts and he’ll take the opportunity to cuddle up with you under the guise of “don’t be scared MC, i’ve got you” but it’s more like you’ve got him if the lift stops and he’s like “what is going on??? Why have we stopped??? Has something happened?? This is ridiculous do they know who i am--” “lucio please--”

probably looks at you like miguel looked at tulio in that one road to el dorado scene

dare him hard enough to lick his arm and he would actually do it to show you he’s not a coward so like. your move

Epic Movie (Re)Watch #108 - The Road to El Dorado

Have I seen it before: Yes

Did I like it then: Yes.

Do I remember it: Yes.

Did I see it in theaters: No.

Format: DVD

1) Not only is this one of my favorite animated movies, it is one of my favorite movies period. I found it while scrolling through Cartoon Network or HBO Family or something and watched it every chance I could get. 12 year old me found it very edgy. The mild swearing, the cigars, the blasphemy, all of it was very enticing and that’s fed my love of the film since.

2) Elton John & Tim Rice, the songwriting duo behind The Lion King, re-teamed for this film and churned out a nice set of songs. But the strange thing is if you listen to the soundtrack most of the songs are recorded differently than how they appear in the film. The one exception I think is "Someday Out of the Blue” which plays during the end credits. Still, they songs add the fun and energetic flavor to the film. The opening song in particular, “El Dorado,” does a nice job of setting up the mythology we need to get the movie started in a very short amount of time.

3) If you’re a fan of voice over work, you’ll recognize Jim Cummings as Cortez.

Cummings is one of the most prolific and talented voice over artists out there. It would be impossible to list everything he’s done, but his most notable work has been as Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh & Tigger too, Hondo on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, Razoul in Aladdin, and Ray the firefly in The Princess and the Frog. It’s fun knowing what he sounds like because not only do you hear him in Cortez, but you also pick up the random nameless characters he plays too with his different voices.

4) The heart of the film, the thing that makes it great: Miguel & Tulio.

The bromance between Miguel & Tulio is what makes this film work as well as it does, it’s what makes it fun! Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline voice the pair respectively, and their chemistry is off the charts. It doesn’t hurt that the pair actually got to record their performances with each other, a rarity in animation (although Pixar has done it with Monsters Inc for John Goodman and Billy Crystal).

Their relationship and roles are clear from the start, they balance each other out. Tulio is mildly selfish with a great hunger for gold and an ability to think things through. Miguel’s heart is bigger than their brain, being the dreamer/softie of the group (wanting the map to El Dorado, saving Altivo the horse when he almost drowns, etc.). And they play off each other beautifully.

5) 12 year old me was very fascinated with the slight profanities this film had.

Tulio [when he’s about to roll his dice]: “Come on baby, papa needs that crappy map.”

I thought crap was a real swear when I was twelve. I didn’t lose my innocence until thirteen.

6) Chekov’s Fake Fight.

The fight comes into play later in the film too, but is a showcase mainly for the wonderful banter between Miguel & Tulio and - therefore - the excellent writing of screenwriters of Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. These guys were my favorite screenwriters when I was twelve, and can you blame me? Their resume consisted of: Aladdin, The Mask of Zorro, Shrek, The Road to El Dorado, every Pirates of the Caribbean film, Treasure Planet, and both National Treasure films. They have a strong penchant for strong dialogue too. Consider the exchange above, and also this:

Miguel: “You fight like my sister.”

Tulio: “I’ve FOUGHT your sister! That’s a compliment!”

I love that.

7) According to IMDb:

The film shares several attributes of its namesake, the "Road" comedies made famous by Bob Hope and Bing Crosby during the 1940s (which helps explain anachronisms such as shared language, pop culture references and lack of historical accuracy).

I just thought that was a fun share.

8) God, I love the banter between these two.

[Tulio & Miguel jump into barrels of water in a chase scene but can’t escape because the barrels are being loaded onto a ship]

Tulio: “What’s happening here?”

Miguel: “We’re both in barrels. That’s the extent of my knowledge.”

9) Even the bad guys have great dialogue!

Cortes (upon discovering Miguel & Tulio on his ship): “My crew was as carefully chosen as the disciples of Christ.”

10) I’m just going to let you know now, so many of my notes here are just quotes from the film I love.

Miguel [giddily, after Cortes tell the pair they will be enslaved in Cuba for being stow aways]: “Alright! Cuba!”

11) For example, another quote:

Miguel: Yes, that's it Altivo. Find the pry bar!

Tulio: Yes, "find the pry bar". He doesn't understand "pry bar"! He's a dumb horse, there's no way he could understand...

[Altivo drops keys into the brig]

Tulio: Well... it's NOT a pry bar.

12) The Trail We Blaze

Animated films are usually short so as to be not too time consuming. It can take years to make 80 minutes of animation. This film has a nice device of compacting what could be very long scenes into neat little montages with the use of a song. We still get Tulio & Miguel’s fun journey through the jungles to find El Dorado, but it’s done in three and a half minutes to a fun Elton John tune. It keep the energy, the adventure, but doesn’t waste the time of the animators or the audience.

13) Immediately Tulio and Chel have great chemistry as they play “pass the golden idol” together!

Immediately upon entering the city the audience is filled with a sense of wonder, achieved through gorgeous animation and also Hans Zimmer’s subtle music which adds for extra bone tingling. You marvel at it with Tulio and Miguel, and you understand how it is such a mythical place.

15) Edward James Olmos does some great voice over work as Chief Tannabok.

I’ve never seen “Battlestar Galactica” so I am mostly familiar with Olmos from his work in Blade Runner, Stand & Deliver, and even “Agents of SHIELD”. I think he shows off a nice amount of range with this addition to his resume. Chief Tannabok is not an angry man. He is kind, soft, gentle, patient, but also you can tell that he’s kinda sad. You don’t HEAR Olmos, you hear the chief and that makes him an excellent addition to the cast.

16) And of course our big bad, Tzekel-Kan

Tzekel-Kan is the opposite of Chief Tannabok. He is angry, an overlord of sorts. He wants blood because he believes it is what’s needed. He believes people are wicked and evil just for enjoying life and being kind, and it is his righteous duty to smite them. He pisses me off way more now than he did when I was twelve.

17) This whole bit with the volcano! Miguel goes too far and says that the gods should not be questioned or else they will be forced to release their awful wrath...but Tzekel-Kan wants to see that. Only they’re not gods! So he and Tulio turn away to try and figure it out and we get this...

There’s an old addage in writing: “A coincidence to get a character out of trouble is lazy.” However in this case I’m 100% okay with that because it’s just funny as hell.

18) How many of us have used this GIF?

19) Chel.

Chel is a nice way of making the duo a trio. Voiced wonderfully by Rosie Perez, she is just as crafty and cunning as Tulio (if not more so) but also understand Miguel’s sense of adventure. The pair balance each other out already, bit if Miguel acts too dreamer-y or Tulio is too gold hungry they throw each other out of whack (as this film shows). Chel helps stabilize them by film’s end and is a lot of fun to watch. Also, bonus points for being an animated female character with a body that is physically possible.

Chel [on why she wants a life of adventure]: “You’ve got your reasons...and I’ve got mine. Let’s not make this personal, okay?”

WHAT ARE HER REASONS!?!? WE NEVER LEARN!!! I MUST KNOW!!!

21) So Chel needs to prove to Tulio and Miguel she’s a good con artist...

[Chel shows the pair the dice she stole from Tulio]

Tulio: “How did you get those?”

Miguel: “Where was she keeping them?”

I’m with Miguel, that’s the more important question.

22) Oh Miguel...

23) It’s Tough to be a God.

The only time this film is a traditional musical (ie: the characters themselves break into song & dance), and considering Kevin Kline’s and Kenneth Branagh’s singing here that might not be the worst thing. The interesting thing is that their version doesn’t even appear on the soundtrack. Instead we get a duet with Elton John and Randy Newman.

24) I need to remember this excuse.

Tulio [trying to convince Tzekel-Kan not to make a human sacrifice to the gods/them]: “The stars are not in position for this tribute.”

Miguel: “Like he said...”

25) I don’t identify totally with Miguel or totally with Tulio, but with parts of them. Like I identify with Tulio being kind of the dreamer who thinks things are possible, but this is a very me thing to say:

Tulio [after Miguel tells him he worries too much]: “No, I worry just the right amount! You can never worry too much!”

Same, Tulio. Same.

26) Remember how I said this movie was edgy to 12 year old me. Well it features a scene where Chel tries to seduce Tulio. Like, more than wanting a kiss. But like she shows off her shoulders for a back massage, they’re later found on the ground together all disheveled, it’s not even very subtle when you know what’s going on. Twelve year old me was very innocent.

27) I love their banter.

Miguel [when he and Tulio end up in a big arena to play ball for the locals]: “Well don’t blame me!”

28) The ball game is a lot of fun to watch, if for no other reason then Chel on the sidelines.

Chel: “Foul! That was a foul!”

And then it’s her idea to use the armadillo as a ball replacement to cheat.

29) So earlier in the film we got this line from Miguel:

And then later in the film Miguel tries to convince Chief Tannabok that the boat they are using to leave isn’t good enough (because Miguel wants to stay) when in fact it’s perfect. When Miguel admits his mistake, we got this line from the chief.

Chief: “Hey, to err is human.”

Miguel goes to get in the boat, but then he looks over his shoulder at the chief and the chief looks at him knowingly. And they don’t say anything else about it.

I love that. I love that the chief isn’t an idiot, but he knows. He knows and he knows it’s good for his people and he knows Miguel is a good guy and...I just love it!

30) I love little things like this.

[A giant stone jaguar, controlled by Tzekel-Kan, attacks the city. It grabs a warrior, ruffs him up A LOT, then lets him fall to the ground.]

Warrior [patting himself down]: “I’m okay!!!”

[Jaguar steps on warrior]

Warrior [from under Jaguar’s foot]: “I’m still okay!”

31) Remember how I talked about Chekov’s Fake Fight?

Tzekel-Kan [when he was Miguel & Tulio cornered]: “I know what you are and I know what you are not. And you are not GODS!”

Tulio [after a beat]: “Y-you’re not a god!?”

The pair then continue to have a very real argument where they say some pretty cold things to each other...

Tulio: “You’re buying your own con!”

Miguel: “At least I’m not DATING mine!”

But it has the same effect. Tzekel-Kan is distracted, enjoying their fighting, and the audience is as surprised as he is when the pair work in sync again and punch the guy out. It’s a nice way of playing the scene out.

32) Friends Never Say Goodbye. A very sad song that plays when it seems like Tulio and Miguel are going to take separate paths in life and are really mad at each other. It actually has some nice truths to it, and again is slightly different on the soundtrack. Elton John is backed up by the Backstreet Boys for the song on the album. I hope that didn’t ruin it for some of you.

33) The film ends with the citizens of El Dorado crashing a pillar into their gate so as to keep Cortes from finding the city, only it is falling too soon. So Chief Tannabok grabs some of the ropes and holds it back for a while. And this is probably REALLY mean of me and I apologize in advance but I just thought of this:

I’m so sorry.

34) According to IMDb:

A series of sequels featuring Miguel, Tulio, Chel, Altivo and even the armadillo going after other legends about gold was planned, similar to the Shrek (2001) series, but following the disappointing box-office results they were immediately canceled.

While that would’ve been interesting I’m kinda glad this film just stands on its own. It’s a nice little gem that way.

I love this film, and think a lot of people out there will too. People don’t really talk about it these days except to talk about how no one talks about it. It’s a nice variation from standard Disney fare, the music is great, freaking Miguel & Tulio are just awesome, and it is just such an enjoyable/adventure filled film. I think you should all watch it now! It’s on Netflix if you have it. So go. Go follow that trail! (Too easy?)

The Witch and the Tambourine, Part 2

Part 2 of Fiona’s journey with a troupe of drow caravaneers!

Revealing her tambourine to once be the belonging of a legendary Caravaneer, The Troupe leader, Tulio asks Fiona to travel and perform with them for a while. Fiona gladly accepts, with Akimoto and Vayle Accompanying her along the way. surprising to them, Fiona has a natural rhythm with music and dance. But what talents will her friends bring with them?

(Speranza, Imperial City, Market District)

*The Caravan has parked itself in a large back alley near the Market district, a scenic view of the ocean can be seen from the Balcony near the Caravan*

Akimoto: *Chomping on a Meat Skewer* ...

Vayle: Aaaah...Lovely! *dresses herself in a Black and Purple Caravaneer’s Costume, She holds onto the skirt lightly, than releases giving a quick twirl as it spins along with her!* I was hoping I’d get a chance to wear this again!

Akimoto: *Raises eyebrow, watching the skirt move with her* You know, just because we’re traveling with Caravaneers doesn’t mean we gotta dress like them....

Vayle: *Striking a pose, still modeling herself in the costume!* Nonsense! i think it’s a brilliant idea! besides, we’ll be traveling all over Vitaria, correct?

Akimoto:...Yeah?

Vayle: So for all we know, our travels could bring us to lands where our enemies lurk! And should they see us, someone could get paranoid and give false information! And we’d not only be putting ourselves in danger, but the Caravaneers in danger as well!

Akimoto: *Blink!*...Ah Hell! I didn’t think of that...

Vayle: Exactly! *Gives him a stack of clean caravaneer clothing!* so go put these on!

Akimoto: Wait! What?

Vayle: I made you a costume as well. It’d probably be in your best interest to put it on!

Akimoto: You made me a Skirt?!

Vayle: *Glares at him!* It’s a MALE Costume, imbecile! I think you’ll find it to be very masculine! especially for one of your tastes.

Akimoto: *Groan* Alright! Alright! I don’t like bright colored crap, but whatever...It’ll do! *Goes behind a curtain to change into the costume!*

Vayle: *Sigh*...There’s just no pleasing you, is there Akimoto?

Akimoto: *from behind the curtain* Well, you make a good point on wearing disguises for the trip! But do the colors gotta be so bright? Crap like this makes you stick out like a sore thumb in battle!

Vayle: We’re not going into battle! We’re performing for the masses!

Tulio: Well...actually...we might see one or two battles along the way to our destinations...Vitaria is a dangerous place after all.

Akimoto: Yeah! See? *Walks out, wearing the full costume!* I don’t exactly see myself getting the jump on enemies dressed like THIS!

Vayle: But it looks so good on you! I feel its the perfect outfit for enemies to see before we take them down!

Akimoto: Yeah...Death by color! What a horrible way to go...

Tulio: Ha! I think that is a good look for you as well, Sir Akimoto! I think you’ll fit in with us quite well on the road!

Sarisa: I’ll say! You look very Handsome in Caravaneer garments!

Fareeha: Oh man! Look at his muscles, Sarisa~! *Giggles!*

Akimoto:...Tulio, a request? Keep those girls away from me while we’re traveling...

Tulio: Hahahaha! No promises, my friend...Those girls are quite the flirts when it comes to boys...

*Fiona walks out from the Caravan, her costume making a faint jingle*

Vayle:...*GASP!* Oh my god...*Smiling brightly!*

Akimoto: Heh...Not bad...

Fiona: *Walks out, dressed in a white and Blue Caravaneer costume!* Well...?*Smiles up at them bashfully* H-how do look...?

Vayle: Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Fiona!

Tulio: Simply STUNNING, Little Sister! That outfits suits you very well!

Fiona: Really? *Red face!* Thank you! I hope our audience likes it as well!

Tulio: I’m sure they won’t be able to take there eyes off you, Fiona! Which begs the question...*hands on shoulders!* Are you ready? We’ll be starting our show in the market place very soon!

Fiona: *Smiles, nodding her head!* Mmhmm! I’m ready!

Tulio: *Thumbs up!* foarte bine! Let’s DO THIS!

*The Caravaneers walk out onto the stage prepared for them in the market, preparing themselves for the show!*

Tulio: Alright...What about you two? got any talents you’d like to share with Speranza? Can you dance, Lady Vayle?

Vayle: Aha...Well, nothing compared to the dances you perform. The Only dances I know are Waltzing and Flamenco!

Akimoto: *Raises Eyebrow at her*...You know the Flamenco?

Vayle: Every Noble in Speranza knows the Flamenco!

Tulio: Hmmm...Well, I don’t want to leave you two out! Can you play instruments?

Vayle: I can play Violin!

Tulio: *GASP!* You...YOU CAN?! *Gives a big smile!* THAT’S PERFECT! We’ve been wanting a Violin player in our shows!

Akimoto: I don’t exactly dance...So I can’t really bring much...I’ll just bodyguard and watch for troublemakers!

Tulio: Are you sure? I’m sure we can find something for you to do!

Akimoto: It’s cool! Just consider me show security!

Tulio: *Shrugs* Alright...If that’s what you want, Sir Akimoto!

*The troupe takes the stage, preparing there places and there acts as they ready themselves for there Speranza Audience!*

Tulio: ...*Raises out hands!* LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are the Luminous Stars Caravan Troupe! And we have come to brighten up your day and bring you the joyous song, dance, and Talent of the caravaneers!

*Several Speranzites clap and cheer, others starring in intrigue!*

Miguel: *Turns to Vayle with a smile!* you ready, Lady Vayle?

Vayle: *Bow drawn on the strings* Of course!

*The Band begins playing a highly catchy and upbeat tune!*

Fiona: *Phew*...Okay...

Sarisa: Don’t worry, Little sister! Just close your eyes...and feel the rhythm...

*A Familiar voice echoes in Fiona’s head as she says that...*

“Just close your eyes...let the rhythm possess you...let it flow through your body!”

Fiona:...*Closes her eyes*...Right...*Smiles, Gives a look at her Tambourine, then begins to raise it to the sky!*

*The three girls begin moving in sync with the music, there bodies, tambourines, and Skirts dancing to the tune played by the Troupe’s band! the audience begins to cheer them on loudly! Whistling and clapping to the rhythm themselves! And across from them...*

Raziel: *giving a pile of drakes to a comic shop owner!* Here...this should about cover the damages they did...Again, I Apologize for my idiot friends here...

Merchant: As long they don’t come near my shop again, we won’t have a problem...

*The Group joins the crowd watching Fiona dance with Tulio’s Daughters as Vayle plays with the band members!*

Krystal: *Whistles* Girl’s got moves...

*the Girls continue to dance, the audience cheers growing louder with each movement!*

Vayle: *Playing her Violin with the band, smiling with joy at Fiona* ...

*With a final twirl and a jingling of there Tambourines, the girls strike different poses, stopping at the final beat of the song!*

Fiona: *Phew*...*Phew*...*Phew*...

*The Audiences roars in praise, clapping, cheering, and whistling for the performers!*

Krystal: *Claps!* WOOO! WAY TO SHAKE THOSE HIPS, FIONA!!!

Vent: *Whistles!* HEY! ARE YOUR FRIENDS SINGLE?!

Raziel: *Smiles at Fiona, giving her a thumbs up!*

Fiona: ...*Blinks!*...*phew*...*Smiles back, returning the Tumbs up to Raziel!*...

Fareeha: You did great, Little Sister!

Sarisa: Come on! Let’s take a bow!

*The Girls all take a bow to the audience, Curtsying and bowing there heads in thanks!*

Akimoto: Hehehehe...Not bad at all, Fiona.

*After a performance given by the sword brothers, and a duet performed by the sisters, the Caravaneers return to the Caravan, packing up with supplies for the journey on the road!*

Raziel: So, you guys are gonna be traveling with these Caravaneers for a while...?

Vayle: They’re a very nice bunch! besides, we’re doing this to support Fiona! She holds caravaneers very dear to her heart.

Akimoto: *Shrugs* They said there would be pay, so that’s good enough for me! We shouldn’t be gone for more than a couple of weeks!

Tulio: Oh yes! They’ll be back before you even know it, my friend! Rest assured! We won’t any harm come to our Little Sister!

Raziel: *Raises eyebrow!* “Little Sister”...?

Vayle: That’s what they’ve been calling Fiona.

Raziel: Huh...

Vent: I don’t know! I don’t see anything interesting happening traveling with a bunch of Gypsies...

*The Caravaneers all gasp in horror at Vent!*

Fiona: *Glare!* VENT!

Vent: What? What?!

Tulio: Boys! Mother! Calm down, please! Put your weapons down! *Ahem!*...Erm...Sir...We Caravaneers find it very offensive when others call us Gypsies...Please refrain from using that word to describe us...

Fiona: Seriously! That’s almost as offensive as humans calling demons...Well...You know!

Vent: *!* Ah...Alright. My bad!

Akimoto: Ether way, be sure to let Gramps know I’m gonna be Traveling with Vayle and Fiona! I’d rather he didn’t send search parties to come looking for me again...

Krystal: No worries! We’ll tell him the minute we see him!

Raziel: You sure you’re gonna be alright, kid? You don’t need me to go with you or anything?

Fiona: it’s okay, Raziel! I’ll be fine! I got Lady Vayle, Akimoto, and a whole Caravan full of talented performers and magi ready for anything that comes our way!

Raziel: Huh...Alright! Stay safe out there!

Vayle: We shouldn’t be gone too long! but if anything happens, I’ll send word immediately!

Tulio: Your friends are in good hands, everyone! You have nothing to fear! Now...LET US BE OFF! to the next town!

Fiona: Erm...None of our stops are gonna be in White Reef, right?

Tulio: Oh! Oh No! No! No! No! No! Absolutely NOT! We’re not even allowed 30 feet near White reef without them chasing us off! Damn bigots...

Fiona: *Phew* Okay, good...I was worried about that...

*The Caravaneers finish loading up, preparing there long journey across Vitaria as they begin traveling down the road outside the city!*

Krystal: *Waves!* STAY SAFE, GUYS! COME BACK SOON!

Vent: HAVE FUN JINGLING YOUR TAMBOURINES OR WHATEVER!

*The three wave back at them, sitting comfortably inside the caravan with the other family members*

Vayle: *Phew* Well, this is going to be an interesting journey...I’ve never traveled with a Caravaneer troupe before...

Akimoto: Raz and I Traveled with one for an escort mission once. This ain’t too different from the other one...

Fiona: *Starring down at her Tambourine*...*Looks out the window at the Speranza frontier*...

Tulio: *Looks down at the Tambourine, then up at Fiona with a smile*...She was a good woman!

Fiona: *Turns to him!* Hm...?

Tulio: That Tambourine was one of Esmeralda’s greatest treasures! She cherished more than anything in the world!

Fiona:...

Tulio: in my personal opinion... *Smiles!* ...It couldn’t be in better hands!

Fiona: *!* *looks at the tambourine sadly, then up at Tulio with a smile!* Thank you, Tulio...That’s very kind of you to say...

Tulio: *Nods* Of course! You’re family, little Sister! We’re here if you have any questions...

Fiona:*nods to him in agreement, then continues to look down at the Tambourine* ...Hmmm...Family...*Stares at the Tambourine, her hand placed on the center*...

*The Caravan continues down the path, making way toward a small farming community down in Southern Speranza!*

The Witch and the Tambourine, Part 1

It sure has been awhile. I thinks it about time I get another story out there for you guys!

I’ll finish up unfulfilled contract when I have the chance, but for now, I’m going to start on a new one while I still got the idea in my head.

Fiona has had quite a few families as she’s gown up these past 14 years of her life. From an Orphanage that was burnt to the ground by White Reef militia, to an Aristocratic mage who used her as a test subject, to a family of Slavers who threatened to kill her if she didn’t bend to there will. However...There was one family, that actually felt like a family to her.

I’m not talking about the Infernus clan and Aki’s friends. This was a band of wanderers...who’s only desires were to sing, dance, and bring smiles upon the faces of the people of Vitaria. a band of caravaneers who were like no other troupe that performed across the lands. A troupe Fiona still holds dear to her heart to this day...

(Centurion’s Tower, Fiona’s room)

Vayle: *Comes into the room with a cardboard box* And you’re certain you’re okay with this, Fiona? I don’t want to donate something you might want to read later...

Fiona: *nods!* Don’t worry, lady Vayle! Mr. Bellator has doubles of a lot of these books in the tower library already! I’m sure there’s a lot of people in Vitaria who need these books more than I do.

Vayle: Heh...The Tower Library...Sounds like a room Akimoto should spend more time in...

Akimoto: Ah, shut up! *Places more boxes down* I’ve spent more than enough time in that room back in high school!

Vayle: Graduation shouldn’t stop you from furthering your education, Akimoto...Perhaps we should donate some of these books to YOU!

Akimoto: Sounds great! I’ll use em as kindling when Summer rolls around...*Picks up a book of beasts vol. 4* Anything like this you don’t want, Fiona?

Fiona: Yes, the book of beasts volumes can go! I’ve read all 10 volumes already!

Akimoto: Alright! *Places various random books and biographies within the box* How about spell books? Are those allowed to be donated?

Vayle: So long as they don’t fall into the wrong hands, they shouldn’t be a problem.

Fiona: Oh! yeah! *point* The ones on that shelf are okay to go! I got all the important ones on the shelf by my bed!

Akimoto: Got it! *!* Huh...what the hell? *Picks up a tambourine that was stacked upon a small pile on top of the shelf, it makes a small jingle as Aki picks it up!*

Fiona: *Her eyes widen, turning to Akimoto in panic*...

Vayle: ...Oh? Is that a Tambourine?

Akimoto: Yeah. *Shakes it slightly as it jingles away* looks like something the Caravaneers play when they perfo-

Fiona: DON’T TOUCH THAT!! *Snatches it away, hugging it tightly*

*Aki and Vayle both stare at her in shock of her reaction!*

Fiona: ...*Blink* I...*Ahem!* S-sorry about that...Please don’t touch this Tambourine, it’s...It’s very important to me!

Vayle: It certainly must be, given your reaction. If I may ask, Where did you get it from?

Fiona: It’s a memento...Something to remember my old family by...A Family...Who loved me for who I was...Not for What I-...*Looks at her shackles*...Well...You know...

Akimoto: The Caravaneers, right?

Fiona: Mmhmm! They were the nicest, most joyful, upbeat, happy people I’ve ever met. They took me into there troupe with open arms! They didn’t care who I was, what I’ve done, or what power I had within! They welcomed me as one of them...They showed me so much love and joy. And they spread that joy to all of Vitaria through song and dance! *Jingles the Tambourine!* Through Rhythm, Dance, magic and talent, they always knew how to make others smile!

*Unintentionally Strikes a Caravaneer pose with a twirl and a smile as the Tambourine Jingles loudly!*

Vayle: Ahaha! *Claps!* seems some of that Rhythm rubbed off on you!

Akimoto: Heh...You might just give Krystal a run for her money with moves like that!

Fiona:...*Blink!*...O-oh! *Blushes!* Whoops! Force of habit! Ehehehehe! *Places the Tambourine in her Satchel* Well, that should about do it for the books! Where are we taking them?

Vayle: We’ll be dropping them off at the chapel in Speranza! That’s where the other nobles are collecting books as well.

Akimoto: Feh...just be careful they don’t force there preaching down your throat!

Vayle: *Raises Eyebrow at Akimoto* Not a fan of the Way of the lord, are we?

Akimoto: My family isn’t exactly on good terms with human gods...

Fiona: Still! We should at least do our part to help with there donations! There’s bound to be a lot of people who’d get better knowledge from these books then me!

(Speranza, Capital city)

Vayle: The chapel is in the noble district. We simply need to hand these books off to the guards assisting them, and they’ll handle the rest!

Akimoto: *Holding up the boxes, struggling due to there weight* grrr...hnng...Sheesh! How many books did you put in these boxes?

Vayle: Just a few fantasy novels and old Grimoires I didn’t require anymore!

Akimoto: It Feels like you put a whole shelf in these boxes! Hrrrk! *Lifts them up, keeping his balance!*

Vayle: Well, combined with Fiona’s Shelves and those Shelves of dusty old novels we found in the tower’s many abandoned rooms, I’d say it’s about the same amount you’d fill a shelf with! Wouldn’t you agree, Fiona...?*Blink*....*Looks around!* Fiona...?

Akimoto: *Blink* Oh great. Where’d she wander off to?

*The sounds of Jingling, Flutes, drums and other instruments suddenly fill the streets as cheering echoes with the music!*

Vayle: *Raises Eyebrow* What is that noise? Is there a Festival going on?

Akimoto: *points!* It’s coming from over there!

*Akimoto points to a brightly lit caravan of Drow performing for the people of Speranza as Villagers, Nobles, Guards, and Merchants cheer them on with delight!*

Vayle: Ah! There’s a troupe of Caravaneers in town! How lovely!

Akimoto: ...*!* Ah! There’s Fiona!

*Fiona stares with stars in her eyes as the Caravaneers perform!*

Fiona: Wow...

*The musician plays Songs of joy, bringing a soothing, mesmerizing tone to the ears of Speranza. two Male performers show off there juggling and sword techniques as they jump and swing away at the air with there Scimitars. The Females dance to the rhythm clad in long, colorful flowing skirts as they twirl and twist there bodies to the music, striking poses and winks to the audience!*

Fiona: Ehehehehe! *Claps! Almost dancing to the rhythm herself!* It’s so mesmerizing! So Nostalgic! *Suddenly, her laughing and clapping turn to joy as she too begins dancing to the rhythm of the caravaneers, attracting the attention of the audience!*

Vayle: *!* Oh my!

Akimoto: Wow...How the heck did she pick that up so fast?

Head Caravaneer: *!!!!* *Stares at Fiona in astonishment, his expression of shock turning into a large smile, impressed with her movements!*

*The other Caravaneers gaze in awe, clapping for her as the audience cheers her on!*

Fiona: *finishes her dance with several twirls, striking a pose, smiling as she stops exactly to the end of the music!*

Vayle: ...*Blink!*...Goodness...

Akimoto: Hehehe...I’ll be dammed! *Claps for her!*

*The Audience cheers and whistles, praising Fiona for her movements!*

Fiona:...Huh? O-OH! *Blushes!* Ehehehehe...T-Thank you! *Bowing courteously to the citizens cheering for her!* Thank you...Hehe...

Head Caravaneer: BRAVO! BRAVO! *Jumps down to her! Clapping intensely!* ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, LASS! I haven’t seen anyone move like that in ages! You’re a Natural!

Fiona: I-it’s nothing! I didn’t mean to try and steel the show! the Rhythm just echoed in my head, and suddenly my body started to move to the music!

Vayle: Fiona, That was Beautiful! Absolutely Mesmerizing!

Akimoto: It Sure as hell gave the other performers a run for there money!

Head Caravaneer: Ha! I’d say! You’ve got a talent for performing, Lass! You could go far with skill such as that!

Fiona: R-Really? *Her face flushed red* T-thank you! That’s very kind of you to say, Sir...

Tulio: Ah! But where are my manners? *Bows to her!* I am called Tulio, if it pleases you! Wandering entertainer! Proud Father! Loving Husband! Leader of the Luminous Stars Caravan Troupe!

Fiona: My name is Fiona! It’s a pleasure to meet you! *Bows her head*

Tulio: Charmed, my dear! And what of your friends?

Vayle: Lady Vayle! Speranza Noble! *Curtsies to Tulio!*

Tulio: Aha! Yes! The creator of that “Soul Whisperer” Style my daughters love so much! *Returns the gesture!* Tis an honor, my lady!

Akimoto: Akimoto Infernus. I’m a Freelance Swordsman.

Tulio: A warrior of the Infernus clan, yeah? Most impressive! Well met, sir knight!

Akimoto: Woah! Woah! hold on there! I ain’t a knight, pal! I’m the exact opposite of a knight!

Vayle: It’s true. There isn’t an ounce of Chivalry in his bones...

Tulio: Ahaha! Never the less, it is a pleasure to meet you all.

Fiona: So, what brings your caravan here to Speranza, Tulio?

Tulio: We are entertainers, lass! It is as you saw! We’re here on a mission we share with all our Caravan Brothers and Sisters! To spread joy and happiness to all the people of Vitaria! And my family, my cousins, and I are here to do just that! *Gestures to them!* My son Valmiro and my Nephew Kaseem are our Sword Jugglers, they also duel with fire and martial arts!

*The boys pose with there blades, showing off to the others!*

Vayle: Ooooh! My, my! Those are some impressive muscles they have...~

Akimoto: *Rolls Eyes at Vayle*

Tulio: my Daughters Sarisa and Fareeha are our star dancers! There movements and styles are sure to catch anyone’s eye!

*The Two girls strike a pose, raising there skirts with one hand and there tambourines held to the sky with the other as they smile and wink to them, specifically Akimoto...*

Akimoto: *Blushes, turning his head away from them!* Grrrr...

Tulio: My Brother Miguel, His Wife Corina, and her brother Gerardo are our musicians! none of our shows would be entrancing without them!

*Miguel makes an intense face at them, playing his guitar hilariously as his wife laughs!*

Tulio: My Mother, Hilde, is our cook, as well as our alchemist and woodcutter!

Hilde: Heh...I may be old, but I still got plenty of strength in me! Hahahaha!

Akimoto: *Blink!* Good God, She’s like Gramps and Gran if they fused together...

Fiona: Wow! You have quite the family...

Tulio: And then there is my Beautiful wife, Rosalita! *Kisses his wife as she sits on the caravan!* She is our star dancer! She is the one who leads our daughters usually! Ah...But alas, during a performance at a little town in Despoire, she suffered a leg injury, and the doctors say she will need to wait a couple weeks before dancing again...As a result, while I feel our shows have been doing well...They lack a certain charm they usually possess! A fire that truly ignites the entire performance...

Fiona: Oh no! I’m so sorry to here that...

Tulio: However...That is before I saw YOU, lass! *cups her hands with a smile!* Never have I seen such passion and beauty in one’s movements! Your elegance almost rivaled that of an old friend of mine from long ago!

Fiona: ...Really?

Tulio: TRULY! You’re a natural with Rhythm, Fiona! Your passion! Your heart! Your grace! It ignites inspiration within my soul! And as such, I must ask you...Would you be willing to travel with us?

Fiona: *!!!* H-HUH?!

Vayle: Travel with you?

Tulio: Not for long, of course! I only ask until my wife’s injury recovers! We would truly be honored to have you dance with us, lass! You’ll consider it, yeah?

Fiona: I...I don’t know...*reaches into her satchel, pulling out her Tambourine*...hmmmm....

Vayle: I think you should do it, Fiona!

Tulio: Your friends are more then welcome to come with us as well, if you’d li-...*looks down at the Tambourine...His eyes suddenly widening in shock as he stairs at it silently*

Fiona: You think so?

Akimoto: You clearly got the Rhythm for it! Why not?

Fiona: It’s not that I don’t want to, I’m just not sure...

Tulio: U-um...Fiona...M-might I see that Tambourine for a moment?

Fiona: *!* U-um...Okay! *Hesitates, but then slowly holds it out to him* please be gentle with it...

*Tulio grasps it gently, examining it closely and observing the craftsmanship...he then turns his focus to the familiar marking on the tambourine...His eyes widening with intensity!*

Tulio: This...This is the marking of the White Sparrows! T-that was my Friend’s troupe! B-But...No, this is impossible! She was killed by a Manticore years ago! H-How did you get this?!

Fiona: Well...I...*Sigh*...I have it...because I was there when it happened...

Tulio: ...What do you mean...?

Fiona: I was just a little girl when it happened...I had nowhere else to turn...An orphan wandering lost, hungry, confused...But then I met Madam Esmeralda...She took me into the troupe when I had nowhere else to go...She treated me as part of her family! They cared for me! They kept me safe! They cherished me...And then...The Manticore attacked...It ravaged the caravan...Killed them all *a Tear rolls down her face*...It ate her alive! And I...I...*Fists clenched*...I was the only one left...I was scared...Frightened...Alone...There was nothing I could do...So I had little choice but to keep moving...I kept Esmeralda’s Tambourine with me ever since...That’s why I have it!

Arcana: (Oh, Come on! You didn’t even tell him the GOOD part!)

Tulio: You were there when it happened...? Y-you...You were with the white sparrows...? Then...That means....*Whipes away his tears, his sadness turning to joy!* Then that mean they are not all lost! They live on with YOU! THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING! *Hugs Fiona!* Your Dance! Your movements! Joyous Day! The White Sparrows live on! Hahahahaaaa! *Hands on Fiona’s Shoulders!* We would MORE than be honored to have you perform with us, Little Sister!

Fiona: *!* *Her eyes widen with a look of sorrow!* L...Little...Sister?!

Tulio: You were with the Sparrows! You were there FAMILY! You are a Little sister of them! Of ALL Caravaneers! *Smiles, gripping Fiona’s Shoulders!* Please, Lass! We would love to have you perform with us!

Fiona: *her eyes shaking with comfort, sparkling as she wipes away her tears and gives him a huge smile!* YES! I accept! I would love to travel with you guys!

Vayle: *Smiles* I was hoping she’d say that.

Akimoto: *Smiling as well, looking at Fiona with an expression of comfort as he nods in agreement!*

Tulio: HAHAHA! Thank you! Thank you! It will be an honor to perform with you, Little Sister! *turns to Akimoto and Vayle* And you two are more than welcome to come with us as well! Any Friends of hers are friends to us!

Vayle: I would be honored to travel with you all!

Akimoto: *Raises eyebrow!* Depends...Are you gonna pay me as an Escort?

Vayle: *glare* Akimoto!

Akimoto: I’m a mercenary, Vayle! what do you want from me?!

Tulio: Ahaha! Rest assured, Friend! There will be plenty of Adventure and reward waiting to be found on our journeys! Now Come! let us prepare ourselves for the Journey ahead! And the performances that await to be given!

Fiona: I can’t wait! I’m more than ready for when the next performance will be!

Akimoto: *Stops, starring back at the Boxes of Books*...hmmmm...*Shrugs, Pushing them into an Alleyway near the Caravan, then finally rushing toward them to catch up!*
