Fathers of Oshu: Masamune

This man works so, so hard to be involved with his children every. single. day. despite the burdens of leadership

He very diligently makes his children handmade toys and works hard to improve his cooking skills. He really enjoys feeding his little ones himself, though he'll readily concede his wife's food is better. This man loves family dinner time like nothing else.

He likes molding rice balls into cute shapes and making his children smile.

He insists on taking care of sick offspring personally, no matter how much work he has to contend with on top of everything else. If that means sitting up all night with a feverish child while he goes through a stack of paperwork, so be it.

(Makes himself sick on more than one occasion doing this.)

If a child of his has had a rough day, he'll invite them to sit with their mother and father and look at the moon.

He passes on his curiosity and open-mindedness in part by letting his kids interact with Francisco and Luis on a regular basis and ask lots of questions of them.

He dreams of taking the whole family on an overseas trip someday.

He is low-key the most fearful of the bunch regarding pregnancy and childbirth -- he's overjoyed at the prospect of being a father but worry sits on his chest like a stone for nine months. He actually runs to MC's side at each birth, in spite of every custom or taboo, because he's afraid she will need him.

(Kita, aiding with the delivery, berates him, then sighs, then presses him into service. He might be the Lord of Oshu everywhere else but in this room he will be taking orders from her.)

This is a problem for Masamune as a parent, actually -- a loveless childhood has left him needing to be needed, and as such he has a hard time treating his children like adults as they grow older. MC, herself bolder and more confident with age, has to encourage him to let things go.

His other chief flaw as a parent is his stubbornness -- this is half innate nature and half the result of being accustomed to command. He sometimes needs a little gentle advice from MC and Kojuro. Or a good head smack from Shigezane. Whichever comes first.

Despite this -- he really is a profoundly gentle and affectionate parent. He and MC eventually offer to take in a child from a lower-ranked samurai house when he notices the subtle signs of mistreatment, and for the same reasons he experienced such. Don't want your kid? Your loss. He and MC have money, room, and love for one more.

He's a quiet man, but he makes up for it with physical affection.

If their adopted child has known nothing but hard hands and rejection he'll be the first to teach them -- slowly, softly, and on the child's own terms -- that hands are for holding and for stroking hair, that arms are for rocking little ones to sleep and holding them when they're scared.

That voices, though quiet and seldom used, are for telling them they are loved and valued.

For the Fanfic Writer 2022 Wrapped: 8, 11 & 22?

Hi~!

Fanfic Writer 2022 Wrapped

8) Did you find yourself repeating a word or phrase in your writing this year? if so, what was it?

Nothing more than I usually do. I know that I use pregnancy as a theme a lot because it's easy for me to write in a pinch and with Fictober coming out later than usual than previous years, it came up in at least 5 stories (published and not) for this year (6 if you count Second Glance's part 4, but that's been a story element of that since its beginning).

Back hugging and lap sitting seemed to be more prominent this year too.

-Mitsuhide got some lap sitting for his bday this year

-Licht got to back cuddle

-Jonah put his arm on the reader's back in the end to help hide that they had a few buttons undone in the back of their dress

-Leon had his daughter sitting in his lap as he told her a story

-SLBP's Kojuro also gets to hold reader some in an upcoming End of the Year WIP Wednesday 

-Pretty much implied and literal back hugging with the corset-tying headcanons,

Just a lot of back hugging and lap sitting this year.

11) What did you enjoy most about writing fic this year?

Found a writing challenge in 221Bs and just ran with it. Something about writing in a short capacity is really freeing rather than in longer forms. Just seeing what I can do when there is a limit is really fun and a learning experience.

And, though most of them were rushed, I did manage to get 5 Fictober fics out this year, something I haven't done since 2020, so that was a good feeling.

22) Were there any new fandoms or genres you explored this year?

Technically new-ish, but this year is when I started writing for IkePri. A bday fic for each of the Klein Twins and a lil something for Leon as well.  Got a start of a fic for Samurai Love Ballad Party, and started playing Obey Me where I created my MC Miri and did some writing with her. Otherwise I stayed in my usual realms of the ikemen series.

The gentlest of gentleman-- still a man, but endlessly gentle. He doesn't break and go feral, his nature is calm. His flirting is words so soft only you can hear, and his touches are steady. Yoshitsugu is not exactly handsy, but it would be unfair to call him hands off. He is appropriate, touching and teasing enough to support (and thrill) you, but never intending for you to be so flustered you can't enjoy what he is doing. The point is not to fluster you badly, only to make you feel like you are being cared for and courted. It’s important to understand that just because he’s soft with you, he’s not toothless: you wouldn’t have met him if he wasn’t one of Hideyoshi’s most brilliant men, Otani has bite. But the sharp edge of his mind is not something he means to use on you. You are special. It is important to him that you feel special and sure of your place in his esteem. He will never forget anniversaries or your favorite anything.

Just because the sharpness of his mind isn't something he means to direct at you doesn't mean he wants you to make yourself small or dull. He'll be thrilled by verbal wordplay, even the kind that doesn't start out or isn't meant to be flirtatious. Show him your mind! You don't have to be brilliant, you just have to be honest and realistic about what you know of the world. He knows your knowledge doesn't totally overlap and he likes that. Watching you pursue your interests and learn more about the things that make you glow makes him glow. Tell him something he doesn't know and then make a joke about it. You'll be treated to a slow grin and a flash of unspoken fire in his eyes. It's not covetous, but it shows its hunger and it is meant to. He can wait to feast, but he won't keep the fact that he finds you tasty to himself.

You know those quietly confident people, who in modern day can parallel park flawlessly and always pop jar lids on the first try, and aren't obnoxious about it but also don't ever doubt themselves so they keep right on doing things exactly right? That's Otani. If you are anxious, he is perfect for you: his steadiness is unshakeable, he can talk you through your catastrophizing without ever being patronizing, and he will never, ever leave you alone to make things worse in your head if you allow him to be there with you. He knows the way. He just does. You can trust in that, and in him, and in his deep affection for you.

The spice (and the rest of the nice)...

If you need to be led into the physical aspect of your relationship, he won’t push (he would find that distasteful) but he will nudge you as you take your steps. Small nudges to give you a sense of possible progressions. He’ll slip his tongue in your mouth and his hand behind the back of your neck, both touches gentle but utterly present. If you are holding hands while walking through a garden, he’ll look straight ahead as he slides his middle finger along the inside of your palm and softly says that he is looking forward to seeing this path at night with you. He’s not boring--ever-- but he is never crass. Just the most warmly, gently kind of suggestive, and you are always free to take or leave what he is suggesting.

Likes to switch positions at least a couple times during each round of sex, not because the switch itself is rote or necessary but because he is trying his best not to bore you (sweetest heart!). Craves, again, your honesty here-- he wants you to feel very safe telling him what you like (however you are comfortable telling him) and what you don't. He wants you to be comfortable hearing those things from him, too, but he's as careful with his words as he is with your body. Yoshitsugu doesn't treat you like glass, but you are precious to him and he doesn't want to bend you so hard you hurt. He does want to bend you as far as you like, so please help him satisfy his quiet pride and show him what to do. You don't have to be confident or elegant about it. Just honest. That really is the key for him.

His self-assurance means he will be serious about trying anything you both agree to. Lucky you, you will discover he is an absolute master at both rimming and fingering you. His forearms are strong, and he can keep touching you or gently holding you down (OR BOTH) He reads you just right, with the kind of attention that is mindful of the pressure it might put on you, and since his goal is not to overstimulate you but to stimulate you just right, and thoroughly... 🥴

Okay SO. Saizo is one of the most intensely jealous characters in the game. He even gets jealous of Yukimura:

I’ll put the rest under a cut for length purposes….this is LONG [seriously] and also mild spoilers for event stories to (hopefully) come…

AND LET’S NOT FORGET 

Obviously, he is pissed but not going to hurt Yukimura in any way. I think in a lot of ways he turns his jealous feelings into teasing/poking fun at the person he is jealous of. It’s his defense mechanism and he likes to push their buttons or make them look like a complete idiot in order to ease his anxieties and make himself feel better. 

We know his jealousy goes far enough that in canon he keeps MC from screaming during sex so Yukimura does not hear it, and he also has been known to keep Yukimura and Chibi Sasuke busy in order to not be interrupted with MC. 

Saizo literally gives ZERO FUCKS about what is going on around them when it comes to MC and his jealousy. He’ll ruin anything, he’ll stop anything, he’ll make the biggest fucking scene. We saw it in his route when he swiped her up from the faux wedding. There’s another event upcoming, in which MC is chosen for a lead part in a performance (in which she must kiss the male lead). At first, the male lead chosen is Yukimura, and Saizo seems to not care one bit, he doesn’t seem threatened. And I mean, Yukimura is his bestie and he trusts him so that makes sense, it’s a play kiss with no meaning. However, Yukimura gets sick and the part lands on Sasuke (BIG ninja Sasuke, not chibi). Saizo. Is. Pissed.  He literally jumps on the stage and ruins the whole fucking things by stealing MC and running away before they can kiss because he won’t allow it. 

Now, these are all “friendly” encounters with jealousy. However. I think Saizo has a very dark side to how possessive he can be when it comes to MC. 

We’ve seen in canon him mentioning several times that he will kill men if they try to see her intimately. In an upcoming ES we see just how pissy Saizo can get when he gets jealous of someone who ISN’T a friendly threat but a random stranger. MC volunteers to help at a nearby school but the teacher ends up being a real creepo. Saizo knows it right away but MC doesn’t listen or understand and continues to go there despite the fact that she is starting to receive letters from an unknown stalker. Saizo goes into freak-out mode and keeps watch of her from a distance 24/7. He shows up at the school purposefully to send a message to the guy, and the moment he DOES end up making a move, Saizo reveals himself AND HIS SWORD. 

Saizo may be the kind-hearted softie when it comes to MC and Yukkins, but the cold and calculating, unflinching Saizo is still very much a part of him. He has no qualms with murder and death, and since he holds all of like 3 people dear to him, he will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. 

SO, what sets his jealousy/possessiveness off the most? 

When someone has known MC longer than he has/someone who appears to be very close with MC. Saizo may have met MC long ago but he wasn’t able to be by her side and he’s pretty self-conscious about that fact. He doesn’t like it when someone tries to show they know her more intimately than he does. 

MC talking about other men, ESPECIALLY when they’re in bed together or have alone time. It’s few and far between they get quiet moments together so the last thing he wants to hear is about another guy no matter the context. 

MC not listening when he tries to warn her about someone or tell her not to do something. He’s got a sixth sense for trash people and he’s usually pretty easy going, so when he tells you to stay away from someone its for a good reason. Not to mention the fact that it’s hurtful to have your S/O ignore your advice in order to spend time with someone else. 

Anxiety after almost dying or losing MC. 

Of course, there are lots of other reasons, but I think these are the most prevalent, the ones that will actually get a huge rise out of Saizo. As far as other random jealousy/possessive HC’s, Dare I say……yandere???: 

Absolutely keeps tabs on you like at all times. If it’s not him himself(which it usually is) he sends Kiyohiro to watch and report back. If he even so much as WHIFFS someone is being creepy towards you he is ending that shit right away. 

How he takes care of them depends on the level of creep. And maybe how he’s feeling that day. If they can be scared off easily he could simply drop into their room in the dead of night, wake them up with a blade to the throat, “shhh, quiet now or I may just slip.” Perhaps he slips something into their evening tea and carries their unconscious body to the nearest cliff or into the woods. Maybe he writes a “love letter” in MC’s hand and lures them to a remote area, sword ready and Utsusemi ready to gobble some plucked eyes. Either way, MC will be none the wiser. 

“Hm? The grocer disappeared? That is strange…so what’s for dinner, little lady?” 

Has no qualms being vocal about his jealousy (most of the time). If it strikes his nerve just right he’ll come out and say he doesn’t like XYZ and wants you to stop. Other times, you have to pay attention to when he is being bitchy and distant. 

If he could, he’d keep you locked away all to himself. He has real issues with love/ownership/things because of his childhood. He’s never known how to have things, especially not precious things. So how does he control himself? He knows it’s not right to keep you locked away, so instead, he controls what he can keep to himself. Your ears showing, your skin showing, your dango, your blush/pleasured expressions, your moans. He doesn’t want anyone else experiencing this stuff of yours. 

That being said, he WOULD 100% lock you the fuck up if you were down for it. He’d get you a pretty little ribbon to tie around your neck and a comfortable room with things to keep you occupied, he’d bring you your meals and feed you, he’d bathe you, he’d tie you up sometimes when he was feeling extra anxious. 

On the off-chance someone actually did hurt you, its game over. It doesn’t matter if they had their hands on you, they left a small wound/mark, or something worse–they’re dead. Saizo will go into autopilot and obliterate the person. Bloodbath. 

In his efforts to keep you safe, he sometimes loses his sense of what is right and wrong with control. At his worst, he WILL refuse to allow you to leave his sight. By any means necessary. 

Blocking exits. Tieing you up (he knows the best and most efficient ways to immobilize you in seconds). Drugging you (such as putting you to sleep). 

When he’s feeling extra insecure he’ll claim you for himself. Tear your clothes off and tease you until you admit he’s the only one you love. He’ll make you say his name over and over again, and hearing it will ease his worries. He may even be inclined to break his own rules and let someone hear him fucking you so they know you belong to him. 

If you’re out in public and he starts to get jealous, he’ll pull you roughly into a dark secluded corner or onto a rooftop and tease you, pull at your collar and grip your face so you can’t look away from his intense expression

“Keep this up little lady, and I’m going to have to punish you.” He nips at your exposed clavicle. “Or…was that what you were hoping for all along?” 

Out of spite and pure jealousy he would 10/10 fuck you in a space such as a person’s bedroom or work, or with an item of that person’s. A way to get back at them and know he’s claimed you there or while you were wearing that (like fucking you on top of someone’s haori or with a hairpin they gave you in your hair before he gave it back to them) and they will never know. 

Has NO PROBLEMS talking about having sex with you. As long as they don’t see you its chill. He will let it out that he just had your legs spread 10 minutes ago and smile. He’ll go into detail. Especially when someone is trying to intimidate him over you. 

“Sorry, she won’t be able to meet you tomorrow like she promised. She’ll be quite sore…if you get what I mean. She looks quite sweet and docile but don’t let that fool you, she’s a different person when the lights are off. It’s no myth some women are wild in bed when you least expect it. Some night she asks for it so many times I have to wake up and check for bruises ^^ well, anyway, look at me going on when I’m sure with a face like that all of this is completely foreign to you. Don’t be discouraged, someone always has to be the late bloomer on the branch, hm?”

Definitely has a mental list of all of the people he’s threatened or killed over you 

Sometimes Kiyohiro has to step in and warn people to GTFO and leave before Saizo ends up murdering them 

Has had the urge to kill Inuchiyo more than once LOL 

Sometimes uses his Kotodama when he’s jealous. 

Maybe it’s during an interrogation of the person trying to steal you from him or harm you. If they deny, he’ll use his power to get them to confess the truth before torturing them. Maybe they lose an appendage for every time they lied or stalked MC. 

He’ll use it to keep you near him, keep you still, after your life was threatened. He needs time to look over your body, check for injuries, make sure you’re okay and tell you how much each finger and tear mean the world to him. 

HATES WHEN OTHER MEN TOUCH YOU. It disgusts him if they had ill intentions and he hates to think that you had to endure that. He’ll order you to strip and ask you where they touched you. He’ll wash the areas himself and caress you with his hands. He’ll whisper in your ear how you belong to him, and kiss over the areas until his anxieties disappear and he feels like he can no longer smell them or feel their energy. He’ll dispose of what you were wearing in an effort to rid you both of the memory completely.

SLBP Headcanon | Haunted Houses

‘Tis the season for haunted houses – in North America. I learned a few things while writing this about them in Japan! I haven’t been to one, but I am operating with the assumptions:

While there are year-round haunts the most popular season for temporary haunted attractions is the summertime.

Since 1996ish it has become popular to have an element of visitor participation – they are given a “mission” and are personally involved in a narrative that unfolds as they progress. For example, the guest must escort a child through the spirit world to their mother on the other side, or find a fire then recite an Ofuda and throw it into the fire to banish an evil ghost, or remove a cursed tooth from a woman’s mouth and get it to the exit.

This sometimes includes an element of backstory/history to be read before you ever enter.

NOBUNAGA:

Is just delighted

Laughs, doesn’t scream, but compliments the actors who do a good job of startling his group

Probably offers jobs to the really good scare-ers

Doing what, who knows, he just hires people he likes and figures out what they’re good at later

Literally makes every single one of his retainers employees go through to complete the mission

Almost DEFINITELY gets banned either for fighting the ghosts or because he turns it into a competition for his retainers employees and they make a mess of the place trying to speed through it.

After his first one, probably draws out a map of all of the ones that are available and goes out on a mission to visit them ALL

Probably makes you go first because your reactions are super funny to him.

Would absolutely not wait in line

But WOULD demand a place open up just for him

MITSUHIDE

Is not scared by any of this but is slightly startled at times?

Like in a who comes up with this and spends their time coming up with this kind of way and I was so distracted wondering that I didn’t hear that ghost come up behind me kind of way

Does appreciate the romance of the storylines, even if he thinks the narrative could be tightened up in a few places

Has a horrible suspicion Nobu will want to do one of these, so, he takes notes

Spends so much time looking for the mechanics and documenting things mentally that he doesn’t fully immerse and appreciate the experience D:

Until the other guys notice and gang up on him for a good scare

JOKE IS ON THEM he just jumps and then frowns at them

Probably lectures them for disrupting the actors

Has a lovely chat with the designer of the attraction

Very gently reminds you that none of this is real and you’re quite safe, possibly with quotes on labor law and event attractions, when you get scared.

MITSUNARI

Finds grammatical errors in the backstory, corrects them angrily

Also points out any and all flaws in the logic of the premise

And corrects the local history, which he definitely knows more about than any employee of the attraction

AND YET gets way more into than he should

Not scared by anything

Completely disgusted by the makeup on the ghosts – totally derails the entire haunt to give them tips on making it more realistic – probably digs out makeup from somewhere and gives them a touchup

Then goes back to completing the story like nothing happened

Will not dishonor Hideyoshi by failing to save the trapped soul after all

Probably leaves you behind – stop screaming you little fool, we have a baby to rescue

IEYASU

HATES THIS

WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO SPEND ONE’S TIME

Is a JERK visitor

Like, sneering, snarky comments about the characters and backstory

Questioning what they used for fake blood – he could make a far more realistic version

His smile while he mentions this to one of the ghouls probably scares THEM like, aaahahahah this guy’s kidding, right?

No, he really could.

Would really just let the demons have the baby they’ve kidnapped – why should he rescue it

Probably throws the actors off by like, offering them this child he is supposed to be protecting, in hopes that it will end this faster

Gets scared at least once and if you BREATHE about it there will be a whole different kind of hell to pay

But you getting scared and clinging to him isn’t so bad I guess. Whatever.

HIDEYOSHI:

Probably flirts with the ghosts and ghouls

Honestly doesn’t mean to make her break character, he’s just THAT SMOOTH

Feels really bad when he realizes that though

Never actually scared but screams his head off silly just for fun

Also clings to Inuchiyo for the same reason

Inuchiyo does not appreciate this

Holds your hand the whole time, which is how you know he’s not scared – you can feel his heartbeat and it never falters.

Would warn you with a little wink right before someone scary appears, because he would notice the cues, but holds a finger to his lips so Inuchiyo won’t catch on.

THAT SAID he will also totally pull the hand-tapping-on-your-opposite-shoulder thing to make you scream.

INUCHIYO

WHY WOULD ANYONE WILLINGLY DO THIS

Super serious about remembering all the details of the backstory and mission though

Gets genuinely startled a few times, but, while you’d expect him to get mad about it he actually finds it funny? Usually a shout followed by laughter. Unless you tease him about it then he gets mad and tries to play it off.

If Hideyoshi clings to him and screams, then he just growls at Hideyoshi to get off of him

100% willing to carry you through the whole thing on his back, even if that means you half strangle him when something appears.

100% NOT willing to carry Hideyoshi, who leapt into his arms as a joke

Eventually he kinda finds the gory stuff super funny – like, look at this fake blood MC it actually bubbles ahahaha

That said dolls creep him out on a whoooole ‘nother level

IF YOU’RE SCARED: Finds it less fun when he realizes you’re going to have nightmares for a week like you can’t even sleep in the closet like you usually would because things might come out of it Will hold his hands over your eyes or ears and steer you through if need be

IF YOU FIND IT  FUNNY LIKE HIM: Will spend the next few weeks buying increasingly more ridiculous masks to sneak up on you in

SAIZO:

Is only doing this because Sasuke begged

And to see Yukimura scream

And well, he won’t complain if you also cling to him.

Completely nonreactive, except for the occasional sigh.

Warns you about exactly nothing even though he knows precisely what’s coming

Spends most of the time holding Yukimura back from charging at the monsters

Possibly gets Yukimura and Sasuke purposely turned around

Then takes your hand and spirits you off and out of there

Like two hours later poor Yukimura and Sasuke finally complete the mission and get out, totally exhausted.

YUKIMURA

GETS SO INTO IT

TOTALLY FORGETS IT IS FICTION

GIVES A PASSIONATE AND ROUSING SPEECH OF COURAGE TO HIS GROUP AS YOU GET STARTED

EVERYONE IS FIRED UP

THEY WILL COMPLETE THIS MISSION AND SAVE LIVES

ALSO weeps with the ghosts over their tragic backstories, but then lectures them in an attempt to reform them VENGEANCE SOLVES NOTHING

It’s so earnest and moving that the ghost performers like, don’t even have the heart to keep it up and oblige

Happiest Ending for a Haunted House Ever

You…you have no idea how to feel about this

Saizo sighs

MASAMUNE

Doesn’t…really get it?

Sort of goes through the motions in a quietly perplexed sort of way

Then something scares you so badly you scream for real

And he glares, and offers a single, chilled warning

Everyone freaks out because wait there is a real demon here?!

Congrats Masamune, you are the scariest thing in the haunted attraction

You never go back

KOJURO

Is JUST mischievous enough to arrange all of this – like, suggests sharing some local history and setting the stage even before you get to the attraction, so you’re just on the edge of spooked when you get there.

Probably one of those people who knows the director and employees and gives them special instructions to scare the pants of Shigezane

Finds it all more amusing than scary, mostly gentle chuckling at everyone’s reactions

Would gently warn you by taking your hand and squeezing if he thinks you need the heads up

Otherwise lets you enjoy it however you want to

Appreciates all the hard work that goes into it – the script-writing, the acting, the lighting, the planning, etc.

Only gets one serious, goes-white fright - courtesy of Masamune, who thought if Kojuro was going to prank Shigezane, turnabout was fair play (and who would ever suspect Masamune, who was just quietly going along with things, but really was studying how they did it)

KENSHIN:

COMPLETELY ENRAPTURED

Weeps over the story

Just floats through, clapping his hands in delight at every new twist and encounter

Keeps getting distracted by decorations that have nothing to do with the story

Also definitely tries to pick them up and carry them away

Kanetsugu is having NONE OF THAT

PUT THAT THING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM

Probably carries you bridal style through the whole thing

Like, you can walk?

Oh but it’s more fun this way

Lets the others – mostly Yukimura – go first, because the whole reason for coming is to give his folks a fun time.

Definitely a laugher (mostly as his people get scared)

Also flirts with the ghosts. “Do you come here often?” but not in a disruptive way – he isn’t out to make their job harder

Will only hold your hand if you’re desperate – because he believes you are plenty brave enough to handle everything without him as a safety net.

Takes everyone out for food afterwards.

During meal will make some offhand comment about the mythology of the tale that’s rooted in local history that none of you knew.

WHOEVER SCARES HIM GETS A RAISE

No one does, until Saizo gets the idea for you to pretend to faint at one of the other people’s scares, and you steal a kiss when Shingen flies to your side

KANSUKE:

Walks through the entire haunted attraction with exactly zero interaction, because none of the actors notice him

Poor Kansuke

ANOTHER BONUS: MCS! On a scale of totally chill to terrified!

Inuchiyo’s MC: Not even the teensiest bit afraid – thinks this is hilarious. HOWEVER, will ACT scared as an excuse to cling to him because have you seen this boy’s arms? *shrug*

Nobunaga’s MC: Is mostly like, mortified. Because of course the Owari clan is making a scene could we just go somewhere and be normal? (when Nobu starts making them go first, goes to somewhere between Mitsun and Ieyasu’s MC)

Shingen’s MC: Would you be scared with all the Kai folks around to protect you? A little scared at the start, but gets it together and handles it like a champ.

Kojuro’s MC: Since the primary target is Shigezane, they get away more or less unscathed from a scare standpoint – pretends to be at least a little spooked, for the same reason as Inuchiyo’s MC.

Mitsuhide’s MC: Generally chill, kind of more into the story behind it all than the scare – appreciates the storytelling aspect. Does not appreciate the disembodied hand on their shoulder.

Masamune’s MC: Is more worried about Masamune, like, is he enjoying this? This preoccupation does lead to being distracted enough at least one big scare though.

Hideyoshi’s MC: Fun-scared? That’s a thing, I promise. Gets a thrill out of it, rather than an actual fear. Only time they are for REAL scared is when Hideyoshi pranks them in the middle of it.

Saizo’s MC: I…love Saizo but his MC is probably a bit of a chicken. Definitely a little scared. It doesn’t help that Yukimura screams REALLY LOUDLY. Not as scared as they would be if they didn’t have Saizo’s hand to hold – it’s kind of nice to have the excuse.

Kenshin’s MC: The haunted attraction isn’t that scary, what’s scary is the thought that Kenshin may have these sorts of artifacts and objects stashed in his treasury for you to accidentally stumble upon? Nightmares for weeks about whispering rocks and cursed dolls that you are 100% sure are stashed in his house.

Mitsunari’s MC: Terrified. Also MAD AS ALL GET OUT because Mitsunari left them alone. Will probably research for days to come up with a good premise, and rope all his retainers into their revenge haunt.

Yukimura’s MC: Yukimura’s screaming, MC is screaming, the ghosts are screaming, everyone is screaming and something is probably on fire.

Ieyasu’s MC: Not sure which is scarier: the haunted attraction or Ieyasu and his ire at the haunted attraction. End result in the same – absolute terror XD

Fathers of Oshu: Shigezane

Shigezane definitely wants -- and has -- a big brood of children

He is so, so, so thankful to MC for making this wild dream of his come true

He gives each of their newborns a smile so broad MC thinks he might burst

Her heart melts when she hears Shigezane softly singing a lullaby to their infant

He's the non-toxic sports dad -- he'll play every game with his children and encourage them to get out and get active, as long as they play fair

Honestly, Shigezane loves playing with his kids no matter what they're up to and doesn't have to be coerced-- MC has caught him making bracelets and holding faux tea ceremonies with them on more than one occasion

Everything they make is a masterpiece as far as he's concerned

He's also big on piggyback rides, the tickle monster, and carrying kids around in general. Has lost many a fake swordfight.

He likes taking his family on outings to see fireworks or join Tsunamoto on trips

He loves spoiling his kids and MC has to reign him in a bit

He is, therefore, the Cool Dad (TM) to his children's friends

Having said that: talking back to him? Bad. Talking back to MC? Absolutely unacceptable. Go muck out the stalls until you've learned some respect.

Under all that goofiness he is very, very, very astute about his kids' emotional state -- he's memorized his children's every gesture and expression over the years. There is no fooling this man. If a kid of his is sad, or scared, or angry, he knows it.

He won't force his kids' troubles out of them, but he wants them to come to him and he wants them to know that he wants that

Absolute master of the pep talk

He's a fairly relaxed parent compared to Kojuro or Masamune without being neglectful or overly permissive -- he thinks it's healthy for his kids to learn from minor scrapes

However, he will give his kids a heart-to-heart if he thinks they're about to do something unethical or injudicious or that will otherwise make them unhappy long term

He makes it clear that no matter how old they get they can always, always, always come home to Omori

He is very eager to teach his kids how to ride and starts teaching them a little younger than MC would have approved of, resulting in a minor argument that is resolved by her agreeing to join in if he does things on her terms

Shigezane actually cools it on the number and duration of visits to Yonezawa until his kids are up some age. He doesn't want to leave MC at home with a young child or one on the way, and he doesn't want to exhaust or endanger any of his kids on the road.

(And if Masamune and Kojuro happen to drop in on him unexpectedly every once in a while, well -- fair's fair. Even if they do seem way too smug about it, the bastards.)

SLBP lords modern college au headcanons

I made a shit post about what if the lords were buddies at college and not trying to kill each other over divine rule.

Sorry there’s no MC here cause I wanted to focus on the brotherhoods…but you can insert her in and run with it.

Halfway through, it occurred to me this is centered around yasu’s assholeness and yukkin’s misery.

Inspired by all those slbp modern au headcanons going around on tumblr.

Ieyasu:

studying medicine? god save the people pharmacology? bioscience? criminal profiling? because evil understands evil criminology consultant?? more like consultancy for criminals

campus Mr White but he works alone bitch/weed lord, kojuro is his no.1 loyal customer.

to mitsubun’s disgust, he’s also an avid reader……of Nietzsche, Dostoyevsky, Machiavelli…so also, edge lord.

has his own room cause no one dares to room with him he’s rich and his granddaddy tadatsugu’s the faculty dean

helps???out in the school infirmary sometimes. yukkin is a regular due to sports injuries. he blackmails yukkin to buy daifuku

Mitsunari:

literature? teaching??

one time he put out a sign saying he’s looking for a roomie and yasu applied. that day is never spoken of in campus. mitsuhide comes by and is so overly compensating and considerate mitsubun has to agree. they bond over their senpais and live happily ever after. hide says its fate and yasu refers to them as thing 1 and thing 2.

he and mitsuhide are usually seen at the library together. the two nerds.

Hideyoshi:

PR? international relations? psychology??

most loved dorm RA, fav TA.

works at the neighborhood café with masa. they are hella good at baking.

Yasu keeps threatening bribing people to buy the ichigo daifuku for him.

great at food porn photography. he and masa are in charge of the café instagram.

helps out the school counseling office. one time he gave yasu and mitsubun punishment for school property damage by making them babysit at a childcare centre.

his roomie used to be kojuro until he could no longer stand the mountain of trash semi-important documents on kojuro’s side of the room. their room smelled like weed, books and bad poetry

works for the school newspaper and is forced by nobu to sneakily take photos of people. ends up asking saizo for help

Yukimura:

sports science? maybe he’s aiming for the national soccer team or some Olympic sport.

gets to knows shigezane when yukkin sleeps over one night after a Halloween party gone wrong.

gets introduced to masa whom he had always thought of as standoffish, until he realizes the guy’s as big a cinnamon roll as himself. they become bros afterwards

he and shigezane secretly feed this rabbit kept for dissection class and smuggle it out one night

Saizo:

idk languages? security management for his intel spy training? maybe he’s just an average guy studying creative writing

secret online smut writer with kojuro. they met at nanowrimo. hey he gets paid for it ok.

mitsuhide gets most of his news sources from saizo.

probably earns extra income as a phone sex worker. rooms with yukkin, so when he does his job, yukkin stammers a lot and plugs in his earphones or seeks shelter with shigezane. until he stumbles upon his secret porn stash

Shingen:

rooms with inuchiyo and has a huge black dog (kurokumo) which he leaves with inuchiyo to take care of when he’s not around.

friends with Nobu cause their dads are old business rivals

saizo references him for his fics

Kenshin:

Fine arts? Museum hoarding curating??

Yasu says he should get a My Strange Addiction/Hoarders series starring himself

really good at ikebana. he and yasu each have their own sections in the community garden. sometimes they trade weeding/gardening tips

tadakatsu thinks he’s a fellow masochist in-between yasu’s insults and kanetsugu’s homicidal scolding

Masamune:

idk business? culinary arts?

hideyoshi’s baker partner. yukkin’s his fav customer and he always saves him a donut. though sometimes he wonders why the guy stammers so terribly when ordering daifuku

meets inuchiyo who’s out walking the dogs during his morning jog. he then helps take care of the animals when inuchiyo is busy. Yukkin and shigezane join them sometimes.

the Date and Kai boys like to hang out at his room ever since the porn incident with shigezane and kojuro’s room is just a no-go zone.

gets teased together with yukkin a lot and they both look at each other helplessly wondering why.

Kojuro:

shigezane gets suspicious of kojuro’s meetings with yasu, stalks him and worries for his future.

rooms with kenshin, who appreciates the beauty of his poetry and neither of them minds the mess treasures in their room.

saizo interviews him when writing daddy kink

Also, sorry I tried my best but I couldn’t think up more for some of the characters and I haven’t been on everyone’s routes yet.

I shudder to imagine what the chapter titles may be if this were a fanfic: pardon me for Ieyasu’s butting in

This idea actually popped into my head as I was playing Masamune’s route in IkeSen. The MC, although scared, wasn’t content to just waste away in her room. She took charge of her life, and I wanted some of that fire for SLBP’s MC. So here it is. What do you think each Lord would teach her?

Nobunaga

The Lord of Fools has spent his fair share of time among the common people and didn’t come away from the encounter without some new skills. Combining it with sumo, he came up with a set of moves that while unconventional for a samurai, would make the most of the her small stature should anyone get close enough to harm her. That wasn’t all those. As his bride, she carried a short sword stamped with his family seal. While not invincible against a larger blade, if skillfully used, she’d be able to stop a blow from becoming fatal.

Mitsuhide

The master marksman would of course use his weapon of choice. Teaching her to use a matchlock rifle was more than just pointing and shooting. It required mental and physical training so as to absorb the recoil and relocate after her position was given away. Meditation and mental fortitude would keep her hand steady even in the most dire situations. Although he never wanted her to have to shoot the gun, if she had to, he would make sure aim would never waver.

Yukimura

Rather than choosing his favorite weapon, Yukimura would train her in swordsmanship. In his mind, if she was close enough for a spear to reach, he would still want her to flee regardless of what it meant for the Sanada name.But he understood her well, and knew she would not flee, so he had a sword fashioned to match her weight. The lighter blade traded brute strength for speed, making full use of quick footing and giving the wielder higher maneuverability.

Saizo

He’d be reluctant to teach her at first. The last thing he wanted was for the shadows of his life to touch her, but he understood the inevitability if they were to remain together. When he finally gave in, he tried to teach her how to be on the physical defensive. She would leap, jump, and climb with the best of them, or at least she’d give it her all. Pushed to her physical limits, she finally confronted Saizo. She knew she couldn’t be his equal partner in any mission, but she refused to be his burden. Masamune felt so guilty when she had first approached him about learning swordsmanship. It was because she was involved with him that his enemies targeted in the first place, but he was the Lord of Oshu, and he could not always be by her side. But they slowly moved away from that. Since he took her hawking with her, she ended up picking up battle formations and actually had a keen eye for reading a field. It was rough, but under his tutelage, she saw what it really meant for him to head his army, and the purposes of each unit. Though she’d never be the best swordsman, she had the beginnings of a talented strategist.

Kojuro

It wouldn’t be unlike his original training when she was still under the guise of Yahiko. He had trained her when she had first taken to the battlefield as Lord Masamune’s cook, but now things were different. She was his wife. Still from time to time, it tugged at his heart to know that she would have to hold a blade in her hand, but he could not be prouder of her. Kojuro was no longer torn between protecting her and Masamune because when they married, they made a promise to each other. That though their love burned true and bright, they would live and die for their lord.

#not headcanon or imagine related #Twisted Wonderland #of course mistakes are gonna happen! #of course certain things are gonna change! #hell the two other games that I play on my phone (FGO and SLBP) I'll sometimes catch spelling mistakes #and guess what? They're officially translated and they still make mistakes! #expecting absolute perfection for official translations is just a set-up for disappointment #are there some things that I wish that they didn't change (like Sebek and Silver calling Malleus just by his name)? Yes! #but they could probably change that later!

sometimes when he’s desperate he just plucks them up from whatever mc’s doing and just falls on the bed because he’s a Brat and demands attention and affection immediately

on occasion mc tries to throw sugar stars into nobu’s mouth when she’s bored and nobu is all for it but he’s really??? good at it? 

obviously everyone and their mom knew this but he loves it when your fingers are in his hair like yes let him lay on your lap and he can just puppy eyes you while you run your fingers through his soft ass hair 

who could say no to him too he could get away with murder if he confessed it with those puppy eyes

when he comes home from work sometimes he just walks up to mc and like. holds them by the cheeks. no context. just holds their face. looks into their eyes lovingly. 

what he’s really thinking as he does this

he blushes whenever mc unexpectedly kisses him like one day she just passes him and tiptoes to give him a lil kiss he just dies and has to hold it in because i’m oda nobunaga and i’m a badass

because he is high maintenance he only has fluffy blankets in his house. and when mc comes over he likes it when she sits between his legs with a blanket over them so he can just wrap his arms around her and be all fluffy

sometimes he idly kisses mc’s neck when this happens and he just rests his head on her shoulder and smiles

listen if u thought nobunaga needed validation enough back then u haven’t seen shit now because now they have 39 more ways of communicating so he’s gonna be saying shit like “you’re mine” over text and every social media caption ever 

he tries to jokingly make mc swear her allegiance to him again and she punches him in the shoulder but does it anyways because he makes the puppy face

he gives the greatest hugs from behind because it’s soft and kinda slow and he gives a light squeeze and kisses mc’s hair and is just like really softly “hi” 

nobu is the big spoon obvi ous l y but sometimes he falls asleep and mc is the big spoon and just latches onto him 

jokes on her he will never admit he wants to be the little spoon so he just pretends to be asleep 

they!!! hold hands!! always. even when he drives he has one hand holding mc’s and sometimes he holds it up and kisses her hand while driving and it’s really cute

cuddling in bed is always cute because he always nuzzles his face into mc’s hair or neck or collarbone and mc is kind of surprised this is the same man that got dragged out of a room kicking and yelling once on national tv

always brushes hair out of mc’s face absentmindedly or fixes her clothes when he talks to her before leaving just because it’s cute and that’s his queen 

he deserves so much love and cuddles please give it to this man
