Hideyoshi my beloved <3 The man deserves a vacation into my arms or at least a decent lunchbreak, >Girl dad like Shingen, but "cursed". >5 daughters, all somehow seeming to take after their uncle Mitsuhide in one way or another, at least in Hideyoshi's mind. >Wouldn't trade them for all the sons in the world though. >Professional at playing pretty princess dress up. >Starts fighting off and worrying about boys at a young age. Sees his 4 year old daughter holding lets sayyyy little Nobunaga Oda Jrs hand in the castle gardens and nearly decides to switch sides just to get away from them. >Such a bragging parent. “well myyy daughter managed to hide the sweets this week and it took lord nobunaga double his usual time to find them.” >Meanwhile, the only reason Nobunaga found them was because one of Hideyoshi's daughter's is a master negotiator. >They suckered Nobunaga for some ponies in exchange of goods. >Thrives for his father daughter dates. He makes sure to do something special with each of them individually every week, even if it's something as simple as fixing her hair while sitting outside as they talk. >Takes all 5 on monthly father daughter outings to the local tea house. >Wants his daughters to stay as far away from war and fighting as possible so struggles when they start becoming interested in what he does. >Ropes Ieyasu into teaching them archery as a distraction and some basic protection skills. ".... Two horses, a new set of Kimonos, and a kitten." The little girl looked up at her father innocently. "That's all I asked for this time!" She sips her tea.

Hideyoshi sighs, rubbing his temples."Girls, you can't just say no to Lord Nobunaga and try and negotiate things with him! He's our Lord! Its not nice."

"But dad! You say no to him all the time! We were just trying to help!" his oldest daughter chimes in, the other 3 nodding their heads eagerly."He was trying to get into the candy again! So we hid it!"

"And instead of telling me so I can stop him you blackmailed him?!" Hideyoshi looks at them incredulously. "What in your right mind possessed you to do that?"

"Uncle Mitsuhide said to make every moment an opportunity! He thought it was a good idea and even helped by showing us a good hiding spot!"

Hideyoshi sighs, running his hands through his hair anxiously. "Of course he did." He groans, but he can't help but let a small smile slip onto his face as his girls giggle around him... "

I have nail polish that changes color when my hands are cold and I'm realizing how cute it would be for someone to notice my hands are cold and hold them except it's in the 90's right now and I'm so very lonely, so let's just imagine

Notices the change in color, asks about it, then uses it every chance they get:

Shingen: makes it his mission to keep your hands on the warm color, claims he sees the color starting so subtly change when in fact it is not changing. Big fan of kissing the nails to change their color, eye contact prederable.

Mistuhide: obviously anything he knows can and will be used against you there will be teasing, but he actually likes the descretness of it too. You don't have to ask him to warm your hands and he doesn't have to ask if your hands are cold.

Masamune: thinks it's very cool, would rather you ask, but he won't complain about an excuse to hold your hand and I do men excuse. Regardless of what color your nails are he will definitly hold you hand and say they were changing color when called on being handsy

Hideyoshi: loves that there is a visual indicator for (what he believes is) one of your needs. Doesn't just hold your hands he takes both of them in his and blows on them gently. It's so sweet your get a toothache

Notices, but is mostly just intrigued on how it works, you have to tell them they were supposed to hold your hand:

Sasuke: wants to know the chemical reaction causing the change. Compliments the colors. Once told his role he gives a salute and dutifully keeps your hands warm when they are not.

Nobunaga: gets two bowls on with warm water the other with cool. Spends some time testing them between each bowl until they both reach ambient temperature. Puffs up with pride when you tell him he's supposed to hold your hand when the color indicates cool. Oh, yes that he can do.

Yoshimoto: inspects them very closely, wants the same color. (He would be a nail art lover for sure) ((to be honest I don't know his character that well I just know this is so far up his ally its in his kitchen))

Doesn't notice, you have to tell them, tells you that you should just say when your hands are cold (pays attention anyway):

Yukimura: everything is witchcraft with this boy. You should just tell him he isn't always going to notice something like cosmetics, always seems to notice. Likes having non romantic excuse to hold your hands. Will also hold both you hands in his and blow on them.

Kenshin: how foolish, if your hands are cold just tell him. What if he hadn't noticed, and your fingers fell off, no he's not being dramatic, its slightly chilly. He's a fingertip kisser prove me wrong.

Mitsunari: very oblivious, but as soon as he knows he checks about every time he sees you. Likes to hols a hand while he reads, occasionally bringing your hand up for a kiss. Helps him stay grounded in reality so that he remembers to drink water. It's hard to be cold around a pocket of sunshine

Iyasu: if your cold you should say something he doesn't have time to play color swap guessing games. Constantly sneaking a look at your nails. Holds your hands under his chin to warm them, no he's not being sweet, that's just the fastest way because of bloodflow, it's medicine, no he's no blushing.

Ok, this clarifies a thing. This was a letter dated 12th month of Tensho 10 (probably January 1583 ish), describing that Nobukatsu has been appointed as "proxy" for Hidenobu/Sanboushi.

The letter is signed by Hideyoshi, Nagahide, and Tsuneoki. This confirms what was said in the Wikipedia articles sort of. Wiki said that those three made this decision approximately in the 10th month of that year, and that's what made Nobutaka throw a hissy fit and keep Sanboushi hostage basically.

I'm reaaally itching to know if there's more paperwork surrounding this issue. Wiki said that as of the 6th of the 10th month, Shibata is accusing Hideyoshi of violating the Kiyosu conference's decision. Don't know what made him think so. Then on the 15th, Hideyoshi put up that big funeral for Nobunaga, and not even Nobukatsu was in attendance supposedly, so I don't know if they're already in cahoots at this point.

After the funeral Hideyoshi wrote this long letter that's like "I'm loyal, I promise on my own life", and he even offered to commit seppuku and die, like... Okay, man, what would you do if Nobutaka said "Yes, ok, go die"?

The non-conspiracy reading of this is Hideyoshi basically using Nobukatsu as his shield against Nobutaka. He really was plotting A Thing, and because Shibata and Nobutaka are raising objections, Hideyoshi's alliance put up Nobukatsu as the proxy lord so they can take action against Nobutaka in his name.

I really want to know how they got Nagahide to okay this silliness. Tsuneoki seems to be already in cahoots with Hideyoshi since Kiyosu, and Shibata is more in Nobutaka's side. But Nagahide seems neutral, so...
