🌟 Tikki & Plagg

ever since the first day they started working together, plagg has always kept a little stash of cookies hidden away in his office for whenever tikki needs a pick me up.  it started with just him bringing one in for her on that first day, as a little pick me up because he knew full well that she was going to be a nervous wreck. by the second day he figured it’d be fine but soon realized it was going to take quite a bit of time before she settled into the job as easily as plagg had. so he bought a dozen or two and just kept them in his office, busting them out whenever was needed. and once those ran out he figured he might as well stock back up - just to be safe. it’s a habit he’s kept up over all of the years and still does to this day.

plagg almost asked her out at least a handful of times back in college. except every time he lost his nerve until eventually he just gave up. why he always backed out he’s not exactly sure - it just never felt like the right time or he couldn’t think of the right thing to say. really, it was fear. fear of losing her or being rejected - or worse, tikki agreeing to go out with him just to dump him later on. or to stay with him out of obligation despite not being into it. either way, it doesn’t matter anymore. plagg believes his window of opportunity passed. they’ve both dated other people since then, though nothing super serious for either of them, but that’s enough for plagg to think his chance is gone. because all the fears he had back then are only ten times stronger now - he can’t imagine a life without her anymore.

they moved in together right out of college - in an apartment in paris just a block away from the school they used to work at. a lot of people questioned why they didn’t just each get their own place, but to them it just made sense to live together. it was more affordable to have a roommate and they were always going to be at each other’s place anyway so why not just cut out the commute and make things easier by living together? and ever since they’ve just continued to live together. neither of them ever got into a serious enough relationship to warrant moving out, so for years they just continued to stay in that apartment. and when they both moved to corona it only made sense to get a place together. but this go around they decided to go for a townhouse instead, both feeling that as they’ve gotten a bit older they’d like to have more of a home.

there’s a small part of danny that almost accepts this. a softer, more reasonable side of him that respects jazz’s input and knows that, as much as he hates to admit it, she’s right and is just looking out for him. you don’t get your sister’s birthday tatoo’d on your wrist if you didn’t love and respect her. so, he almost accepts his punishment with a frown and drooping shoulders. almost. “time out?!” danny repeats. “yeah sorry no, until you get a really shitty bowl cut and a blue jumpsuit that’s not gonna happen.” he walks away, leaving jazz in the living room to stew in her disapproval. in hindsight, jazz makes a point. stealing a taco truck with fred is hands down probably the dumbest thing danny has ever done. and now, that he’s out of his one night stint in prison and not suffering from a crippling desire for tacos at 2 am (and away from fred’s bad influence)  he can see that. had fred not had heathcliff and millions of dollars at his disposal, their night could had a far worse ending than a few hours of discomfort. and jazz, for reasons beyond his understanding, had signed up to take danny on as her responsibility years ago. so it only makes sense that she’s upset with him. and he did get off pretty easy for committing an actual crime. but that doesn’t mean it’s jazz’s job to dictate and dole out punishments. especially not stupid childish ones like this. danny reaches into the fridge to grab a soda, and as much as he wants to believe he’s done with this discussion his scorpio tendencies bring him right back to the subject. “i can’t believe you really thought you were gonna put me in time out and i was just gonna be like ‘oh ok cool!’ like are you dumb?” he’s not sure if the meme reference is going to go completely over jazz’s head or not, but in the moment it doesn’t matter. all that matters is he’s annoyed.

🌟 Ariel & Dexter

ariel has never been one to sit still for long. they get bored fairly easily and always want to be doing something fun and excited. but they’ve found that when they’re in dexter’s lab they actually don’t mind just sitting. because they know how much it means for him to even allow them in there in the first place - so they take it very seriously. plus it’s so cool to see all of his inventions and experiments. even though they don’t understand most of what he’s doing they still feel smart just being there. it’s also on of their favorite places for doing schoolwork. they love to do readings and tell dexter any interesting facts they stumble upon in their textbooks. ariel’s favorite is when he doesn’t already know it since he he doesn’t specialize in marine biology. it always makes their day to teach him something new.

every time dexter seems to be struggling with an invention or just needs a pick me up, ariel tries to get him a cake pop. even though they know it’s not his favorite treat, it’s how they met and seeing one always makes them smile so they hope it’ll have a similar effect on him. sometimes they try to bring one to him at work too - but that’s harder since he mostly works nights on the show and ariel has to first sneak out of the house (that’s not really the hard part) and then find him wherever the team is (that’s where they start to struggle a bit). but if he seems to be complaining a lot over texts during a specific shift, they suck it up and just deal with potentially getting lost for a few hours trying to track down whatever spooky location he’s at.

even though they most often hang out in his lab, ariel tries their best to get him out more often. they attend most events together and ariel brings him to the aquarium and the beach whenever they can. the only thing they don’t push him to do is come to any parties with them - especially not eric’s parties. they don’t know why but they don’t really want the two of them to meet. which is weird because normally ariel wants ALL their friends to know each other. but when it comes to these two boys, the thought of them hanging out together just feels strange. not because they don’t think they won’t get along - they’re both great guys and ariel knows eric can befriend just about anyone - it’s just... weird. they try not to think too hard on it. the other place ariel doesn’t bring dexter much is their own home. mostly just because they know their dad will make a way bigger deal out of it than it is - plus triton manor can be pretty damn boring so why would they want to take him there when there’s so many better place around the island to hang out??

🌟 Flynn & Lance

it was because of lance that flynn got into thieving as hard as he did. before meeting him, he was only taking a few things here and there - mostly just snacks from convenient stores and such. not that he blames lance for getting into it so hardcore, because he loves being a thief even if he does harbor some guilt and mixed feelings about it at times. but even though lance is the one that got flynn into the life of crime, it was flynn’s fault that they both fell so deep and got into the bigger jobs they used to do. he’s always wanted to go after bigger and better things in life, and it was flynn who met the stabbingtons and brought them into the crew. everything after that was just a giant snowball. it’s part of why he feels so bad about everything that went down five years ago. because the heist that wound lance up in hail had been flynn and the stabbingtons plan, so really it is his fault. but he’s starting to get over it the more that lance insists it’s fine and very clearly seems to be okay with it all.

lance was always the one that looked out after the rest of the kids in their orphanage and group homes. when they stole and sold things, lance gave his profit back to the kids or used the money to buy shit for them. whereas flynn kept his cut for himself (and also used it to help out lance when he needed). it was a good balance, or at least flynn always thought it was. but once lance was away, flynn took over some of that responsibility. when he got his first job as a host at ursula’s lair, he decided to keep the pay that he made from working for himself and use any money he made pick-pocketing or stealing to give back to the orphanage. at first he was real strict about it, but once he left the group home and started living on his own (well, actually with vanellope and later pascal - but close enough) he had to start cutting back on what he could donate. between rent and groceries, as well as supplies for school and just general spending cash, he needed to keep almost everything he made. even with getting a better job at nightmares, he’s sort of moved past that charitable time in his life. but now with lance back he wants to start getting better at it. it’s like seeing his old friend reminded him exactly of where he came from, something he’s never fully forgotten but has definitely started to move past at least somewhat.

though he never actually went to visit lance while he was away, he thought about it multiple times over the years. every time something major happened in his life he wanted to tell lance, but never worked up the nerve to do so. sometimes he wrote a letter - but never sent any of then. in fact, he straight up threw them away after finishing them. now that lance is back he sort of wishes he had kept them. both as an easy way to fill lance in on everything that’s happened to him over the years, but also as a way to prove that he was always thinking about him - eve if he didn’t show it the way he should of. because the last thing flynn wants lance to think is that he just forgot about him or moved on without him.

“don’t stress! you’ve got this!” mel puts her hands on rex’s shoulders, giving him a reassuring squeeze and rocking him back and forth a little. initially when she tried to think of a fun, harmless way to get them both out of the house she had come up with a whole lot of nothing. then she recalled one time when he mentioned he was going to work out, and the glow of a brilliant idea warmed her face. “he looks super scary but he’s actually a sweetie.” mel explains with an encouraging smile. the he in question was ricky “the wall” johnson, the muses personal trainer who had been whipping them into peak physical health for longer than mel cared to recount. being a muse was strenuous hard work that moved far beyond all day studio sessions and intense vocal training, there was a lot of stamina that was involved in the choreography teri came up with and ricky made sure they were able to do it without wanting to pass out or die. or both. in the time that mel had been working with him she had stopped seeing working out as a chore, and started having more fun with it. learning different fighting styles was the perfect way to keep her constantly buzzing mind entertained and it kept her in perfect health. so, bringing rex to ricky to help him find a more fun way to buff up was almost a no brainer. “think of it like playing as steve in tekken,” the video game reference comes to her easily after having been friends with rex for so long. “it’s just reflexes and thinking ahead.” mel busies herself with slipping her hands into her gold boxing gloves. “just watch out for his right hook, you’ll be seeing out of one eye for days and that’s not a good look.” mel’s lips turn up into a grin as she looks up at her friend, but at seeing the nervous look that’s almost ever present on his face she frowns. “i’m kidding! look, i’ll go first if it makes you feel any better.”

Phoenix would be extremely surprised. Phoenix is oblivious to the point that if someone had feelings for him, even if they made them obvious, he wouldn’t realize it until they blatantly expressed those feelings to his face.

It’s been since at least before he graduated high school; he went on a few camping trips with his brother while they were still teenagers, but going to college and working for Hades has meant less free time for him to take any trips or vacations outside the island.

Ooohh. Riley is uhmmm very creative. And dumb. They come up with wild ideas for things all the time. Their imagination is very active and they’re just a general goof-ball. In reality, if Riley sat down and thought out some of the ideas they come up with - like the plan to make suits out of oven mitts to protect themself and Bing Bong if they travel to Venus - aren’t the greatest or smartest plans in the world. But they just don’t think things through and usually go with the first thing that pops into their head.

Instant gratification type for certain. It’s why they don’t think things through and just dive right into whatever wild idea comes to their head. They can be patient when they have to be, though, but usually only when necessary. They prefer the rush of acting quick.

[ danny ]: i know you can’t relate because you’re little miss perfect or whatever, but sometimes i just feel like such a failure. like my entire high school career was a joke. i did nothing substantial with my life until college. i’ve had the same like two friends my entire life because i dunno, i guess i just emit ‘he’s a loser don’t talk to him’ energy. and i mean yeah i’ve got like a nice job now or whatever but i didn’t even have the balls to try to do something with the one thing i actually am good at and passionate about. i just...chickened out and never went for it. it’s probably for the best though, i’m not smart enough to be an astronaut and that would have just been another humiliation to add to the incredibly long list.

🌟 Gigi & Jazz

jazz was the first person gigi dated since realizing her feelings for manny. at first she thought it would just be something casual that didn’t last very long, but after the first month gigi found herself genuinely into her a lot more than she had planned. it was nice though. she still had some feelings for manny, but she did her best to put them fully on the back burner. the two were a strange level of serious - they dated for awhile but since they were for the most part a secret didn’t go out as much as gigi would have liked. but for jazz she was willing to just stay in because that’s what she was more comfortable with.

gigi wasn’t actually a big fan of the whole secrecy thing, but she was willing to respect it because it was what jazz wanted to do. plus once she got the okay to tell rosie and manny, and then the rest of the circus crew, she was fine. later on it becomes a good thing that she never told clio too since she started dating danny and that was just kind of awkward. or at least, jazz thought it was awkward. gigi also thought it was a little weird but mostly was excited about the potential fun they could have been having! double dates! hanging out together as a little group! but jazz still wanted to remain a secret so she went along with it. now that they’ve been broken up for awhile she’s still not sure if it has to keep being a secret. so she just says they’re friends and used to be closer but have drifted apart some.

they had a lot of movie nights as well as just hanging out together at gigi’s apartment - since they couldn’t go to jazz’s or act coupley out in public in case danny or one of his friends happened to see. gigi got into reading a lot more while they were together because that was a common “date” night for them - glasses of wine and laying on the couch together with their books. it was nice. for awhile after they broke up though she fell out of habit of reading - it reminded her too much of those nights with jazz - but after they got back on friendly and decent terms and she started to move on she picked it back up. not it’s a nice pass time that just occasionally reminds her of her ex.

 they 100% have their own burn book of everyone on the island that they care about enough to know dirt about. have a bad day? write in the book.have a great day? write in the book. they came up with the idea of having their own after playfully calling each other regina george. 

they lie to each other constantly but it is surprisingly genuine? they don’t lie to each other to one-up each other, they lie to each other because they wanna impress each other. at the same time lila is genuinely honest with her more than she is with anyone else.

they always take time out of the week to have a girl’s night. their favorite spots are YOKO or just chilling at one of their own to watch rom-coms and early 2000 movies that changed their lives.

lila has heard the name veronica a few times when she goes over but she just pretends she doesn’t. trixie said her name was trixie and the truth is none of her business. she believes that she will be honest with her when the time comes.
