Quick moments that absolutely made my week in Vienna. Even though I am so very, very emotional and sad today -- I really do want to emphasize what an incredible opportunity it was to see this show 6 times before it closed.

--Seeing Riccardo Sinisi ALL SIX SHOWS, which was completely unexpected. Getting to see his Mistoffelees twice!

--Seeing Florian Fetterle in his last show as Munkustrap

--Seeing Alex Snova in his last show as Tugger. Getting to meet Alex Snova after the show and getting the opportunity to tell him how much his Tugger means to us and finding out what a beautiful and gracious person he is

--Getting together with @peterpandiedtoday, @cryptidvoidwritings and @namethat-i-oughttohavetoldyou for an Epic Cats Squad! Especially as the latter came in full gorgeous cosplay as Munkustrap for our last show!

--Sneaking in to ask Gerben Grimmius for an autograph and immediately being asked for our names and their spellings and then having him actually super interested in us and asking about ourselves and our opinions about the show, Vienna vs. U.S. Tour, and finally ending when we admitted we weren't here to see Miss Saigon with a knowing look "Ah You're Hot for Cats!". 😂 Promised he would "look out for us" and he did indeed--got full on blinks from Skimble as acknowledgement at the last show. What an absolute class act.

--Dropping off little notes to the cast at the Stage door earlier in the week and being completely caught off guard when Alex Auler figured out I must be the American who wrote the note and getting profusely thanked while expressing pleased surprise that two of us had flown from the U.S. just to see Cats. He was absolutely lovely and the sweetest (including obviously trying to comfort us being so sad about the show closing).

--Matthew Levick *also* asking if I was "the one who wrote the card" and saying how nice it was. Also he signed my programme with a smiley face!

--Getting to see Matt Levick's final Misto and the long, long applause for him at the end--so well deserved!

--Seeing Barbara Obermeier as Grizabella and the long held applause at the end of both Memories. I cried. It was the best I've ever heard. Her voice is so beautiful and powerful and she is my favorite Grizabella

--Saturday's show where the audience gave a standing ovation long after the kitties had left and on through the closing music

--Aulerstrap Aulerstrap Aulerstrap.

--Alex Auler holding the High Note during Alt Deuteronimus longer and sweeter than usual

--Dominik Hees going up a register during his part of Alt Deuteronimus

--Birgit Arquin was on FIRE for Bomba this whole week. Phenomenal.

--Dominic Hees just basically going feral during the show and wandering into everyone's number whether he was supposed to be there or not

--Riccardo Admetus laying his head in Snova Tugger's lap during Gus

--The Raffish Crew my Beloved

--Nick Li popping out of the Stage Door like a Ray of Sunshine and telling us he was happy to be accosted and "loved going down the line" to sign autographs!

--A fan presenting Riccardo Sinisi with a beautiful drawing of himself as Carbucketty and his being so genuinely touched. Then to have Nick Li lean over and ask "Who is *that*?" with Riccardo responding exasperatedly "That's my FACE" and Nick "Oh I didn't recognize it you look so *young*" THESE TWO I SWEAR

--Talking about the show on the way home only to realize that there are Cats in the Train and we'd better lower our voices and hope we didn't embarrass ourselves

--Getting to see the show with friends and Cats fans. Won't ever forget it.

some more on my beloved lu:

-has one of those adorable stifled kitten sneezes 🥺🥺 the rest of the nordix mock him relentlessly for it

-except for skiing, a very indoorsy person. would much rather be on his sofa reading his book with a cup of coffee than outside.

-takes his coffee black! he used to put cream in it but one time he forgot to sniff the creamer and it came out in a chunk and traumatized him ;-;

-as I’ve said, killer sweet tooth, but his favorite sweet thing isn’t some traditional dessert or anything it’s just fuckin Oreos. Man can plow through a sleeve of Oreos like nothing

-worlds largest ugly sweater collection. Wears NOTHING but jeans and baggy sweaters, and ofc a suit and tie at meetings. if it’s hot out he just forgoes the sweater and wears an undershirt. favorite sweater is a matching “I’m he’s” one he has with Matthias’ “he’s i’s”

-his hair is naturally wavy/curly! he straightens it but can’t get the short pieces around his neckline so it’s still curly there. is cute.

-always smells kind of like cedar and moss. a very natural, fresh smell, like the forest in winter.

-known for his RBF in public but is VERY expressive at home. very smiley and lovey but still with a very wry sense of humor. Matthias’ favorite thing is this little wiggly thing lu does when he drapes a warm blanket over him uwu.

-I’ve posted about this before but his love language is touch!!!! loves to have just. Full body contact with whoever he’s with. Sleeps directly on top of Matthias, loves to cuddle up with Timo on movie nights(he is comfy after all), bothers the hell out of eirí by just picking him up and holding him at random.

-loves to be picked up himself, very fond of pretending to fall asleep in the living room/kitchen/car so Matt will pick him up and bring him to bed. Was worried when he gained weight that Matt wouldn’t be able to carry him any more but Matt was like “lulu. my love. my sun and stars. i’m the semi-immortal human manifestation of the kingdom of denmark. I can pick you up.”

-can’t sing at all but he can play the violin very well! he has very long, slender fingers so he’s perfect for it.

-the cross hair clip is only one of many little clips to keep his bangs back! a few other favorites include one with a seashell, one with silver leaves, and an absolutely garish bright pink heart hairclip he got from poland during the 2005 secret santa.

-trashy drunk. as soon as he has a few drinks in him, the pants come off and the karaoke machine turns on.

summary: you try to outwit Matt's heightened senses. it doesn't go too well, but you're successful in other ways.

notes: this is ooc for Matt being happy and smiling lol. in character for Matt being a huge sub. contains ~suggestive content~ also i'm so late to the Daredevil fandom. title is a the 1975 song bc i've been obsessed with it this month and it kind of works

“I told you, you can’t surprise me,” Matt laughs, catching your wrist again.

“One day,” you huff, snatching your hand back from him and immediately trying it again, reaching for his waist this time, “I’m gonna do it,” Matt can practically hear the frown in your voice, and he can’t keep the smile from his face as he catches you, yet again.

“Good luck with that.”

“Ugh,” you groan, flopping back against your pillow.

Matt, who had been leaning against the headboard, shuffles down to your level, turning towards you and propping himself up on his elbow. “Giving up so easily?”

“Yes,” you lie, and then immediately reach for his forearm with the intention to knock his support out from under him. And of course, he stops you.

“Getting crafty, hm? It was a good try. I respect the effort.”

“You are so annoying, you know that?”

He hums. “And yet, here you are in my bed. Must be something keeping you.”

Instead of responding, you try a rapid fire approach, trying to make contact anywhere and everywhere as he effortlessly blocks all your attempts. Matt’s laughing, and you’re trying not to smile through the disgruntled front you’re putting up, when he grabs both your wrists and doesn’t let go, rolling on top of you as he pins your hands down by your head.

He’s got a triumphant air about him, one eyebrow raised in a silent challenge, and though you love seeing him like this, you’re not going down that easy.

Matt can hear the slight uptick in your heart rate as you make the decision. You drop your voice down a little lower than usual, using the part of your register you save just for him. “I guess you got me. But I think we both know where you’d rather be.”

You hook one of your legs over his, lifting your hips and pushing against his body. Whether you’ve really caught him off guard or he’s just letting you have your way, he still falls back against the mattress, your legs straddling his hips. Somewhere in the shuffle he’d released his hold on you, and you held his hands above his head now, putting your full weight onto them.

“You know I could get out of this in a second,” his breathing has picked up, you can hear it in his voice and it brings a wicked smile to your face.

“I know you could, baby,” you hum, switching your hold on him so you have both his wrists held down by just one of your hands, weakening your hold even further. With your free hand, you slide up the expanse of his neck, resting just beneath his jaw and turning his head to the side to give you a better angle. You lean in, kissing your way up his neck before breathing out, right next to his ear, “But you don’t want to.” You can feel the heavy rise and fall of his chest beneath you before you sit back up, your thumb softly grazing against his jaw. “Do you?”

He almost whines at the loss of contact as you sit up. “No, ma’am.” His voice comes out rougher than before, and you fucking love it.

“That’s what I thought. Think you always know my next move, baby? Why don’t you tell me what I’m gonna do next.”

Big Bird puppeteer retiring from ‘Sesame Street’ after nearly 50 years

Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer who has portrayed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on “Sesame Street” since the program’s 1969 premiere, announced Wednesday that he is stepping down from the roles.

The news was made public via Sesame Street’s official Twitter account.

“Big Bird brought me so many places, opened my mind and nurtured my soul,” Spinney said in a statement. “And I plan to be an ambassador for Sesame Workshop for many years to come. After all, we’re a family! But now it’s time for two performers that I have worked with and respected — and actually hand-picked for the guardianship of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch — to take my alter-egos into their hands and continue to give them life.”

For many “Sesame” fans, it is the end of an era for a man whose characters helped to define their childhoods.

Spinney’s five decades portraying the beloved characters left him in the shadows, even as Big Bird and Oscar became famous worldwide.

Big Bird visited China with Bob Hope in 1979 and even showed off his massive dancing skills with with the Rockettes and prima ballerina Cynthia Gregory.

The beloved bird, who stands more than eight feet tall has been feted with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrated with his likeness on a US postage stamp, and named a “Living Legend” in 2000 by the Library of Congress.

Spinney embraced his avian avatar, traveling the world, appearing in feature films and conducting symphonies in costume throughout the US, Australia and Canada.

He even met his wife of 45 years, Debra, on the “Sesame Street” set in 1973.

Sesame Workshop co-creator Joan Ganz Cooney hailed Spinney for his turn as the curmudgeonly puppet in a trash can, Oscar the Grouch.

“Caroll has been one of the leading lights of Sesame Street from the very beginning,” she said. “His genius and his talent made Big Bird the most beloved yellow feathered friend across the globe. But the sheer artistry of Caroll is that he also brought Oscar to life and made him the most lovable Grouch in the world.”

The roles brought Spinney, who is also an accomplished author and visual artist, acclaim.

He holds four honorary doctorates, a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award, six other Emmys, two Gold Records and two Grammy honors.

His life and career were documented in the widely-acclaimed 2014 film, “I Am Big Bird.”

“Before I came to Sesame Street, I didn’t feel like what I was doing was very important. Big Bird helped me find my purpose,” Spinney said. “Even as I step down from my roles, I feel I will always be Big Bird. And even Oscar, once in a while! They have given me great joy, led me to my true calling — and my wonderful wife! — and created a lifetime of memories that I will cherish forever.”

The show announced that Matt Vogel, “Sesame Street’s” puppet captain, will take over the role of Big Bird.

Oscar the Grouch will be played by Eric Jacobson, a puppeteer who also performs Grover, Bert, and Guy Smiley for “Sesame Street,” as well as Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy for the Muppets.

Amy Chu and German Erramouspe Set to Serve as Creative Team for the New Series Set Debuting in March

December 19, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce they will be adding a new entry into the Green Hornet universe, as the prolific and talented Amy Chu, best known for her work on Red Sonja, KISS, and Poison Ivy, has been tapped to serve as writer for the upcoming series. Chu will be joined by artist German Erramouspe (Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath, Rancat) for the upcoming March 2018 release.

Britt Reid Jr., the scion of the Daily Sentinel publishing empire, vanishes during a wild party on his friend’s yacht. Meanwhile, crime spikes in the streets of Century City with the mysterious criminal/secret vigilante the Green Hornet absent. It’s only a matter of time before SOMEONE puts two and two together, and it’s up to Kato, former partner of Britt’s father, and his daughter Mulan to protect the city AND the Green Hornet legacy, while finding out what happened to Britt. Writer Amy Chu picks up where Kevin Smith left off with an action-packed mystery!

Writer Amy Chu says, “The Green Hornet was one of the top titles on my bucket list to write, so I’m really thrilled to dive in. I’ve been listening to the old radio shows from the ’30s and trying to bring back some of the good guy vs bad guy elements of what made it popular in the ’30s. But this is not a pure nostalgia trip- there’s a lot of modern twists. My parent’s generation in Hong Kong liked Green Hornet because of Bruce Lee as Kato so I’m weaving in some solid martial arts action too.”

Amy Chu writes comics – and only – comics! Following a successful run heading the first-ever Poison Ivy mini-series for DC Comics, Chu began crafting multiple series for Dynamite Entertainment including Red Sonja and KISS. Chu also writes and produces comics for several non-profits including The New York Historical Society, The Baltimore Museum of Art, Pop Culture Classroom, and The Museum of Chinese in America. In her spare time, Chu can be found serving as a frequent speaker/panel moderator/guest at the top industry conventions including San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, Heroes Con, and the Emerald City Comic Con and Fan Expo.

Artist German Erramouspe says, “When I read the beginning of the script for the first issue of this new series, Amy Chu proposed to me that we could make this version of Green Hornet with a noir style, something in the vein of Eduard Hopper’s painting, Nighthawks. Hopper is one of my favorite artists, so with this in mind, I know that this first chapter is going to be really stimulating for me when I go to the drawing table and begin working on it! I can give to Kato and the Green Hornet, two characters that I really enjoy, and am really excited to draw, a somber feeling! I hope the readers can enjoy this new beginning as much as I’m enjoying drawing it! And feel how the night is dyed in a darkest green once again!”

Germán Erramouspe, who was born in 1981 Argentina, is a comic artist who made his debut was on a mini-series El Hombre Primordial before working on several titles for Avatar Press, including Disenchanted, Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath, Crossed: Badlands, God is Dead, and Dark Gods. More recently, Erramouspe has worked with Dynamite Entertainment on Grimm Vol.2, and is currently working with French publisher StoneBots Comics on his graphic novel, Rancat.

A new mystery begins this April as DC Entertainment, Condé Nast and Dynamite Entertainment unite Batman and The Shadow for an epic crossover. This team-up of history’s most well known vigilantes will send Batman on a quest to unlock the enigma surrounding the obscure Shadow. In the six issue miniseries, murder has come to Gotham. Gotham’s protector, Batman, discovers a trail of evidence that leads to a suspect by the name of Lamont Cranston. The only problem is—Cranston has been dead for over fifty years! As Batman attempts to unravel the enigma surrounding Cranston’s life, the mysterious Shadow will do everything in his power to stop him from learning too much.
