I'll try something silly/cute. Since I'm playing on the Nvidia cloud gaming because my pc isn't able to handle BG3, I can't use mods of any kind. So, I saw SO MANY beautiful OCs/Tav, modded or not, reblog with your character and their background + class etc! Did you choose for your character a romance or not? I'm super curious this is my first glance to dnd ♥️ I'll start with my favorite(made so many...)

my OC's story under the keep-reading contains SPOILERS from Astarion's story and non-detailed cws such as: slavery, abuses, mental/personality disorders, amnesia, temporary death. And lots of grammar mistakes because I perish bloodless like every Astarion stan out there.

non spoiler summary: Kirei, trans man, half wood elf, half vampire spawn (around 130+ yrs old)- class: fighter. Due to his nature one eye is red, the other of its original color; light purple. He gets his tattoo right after getting out of the ship alive (he's a funny one in his own calm way). He's friendly but distant and prefers solitude, quiet places, over the chaos surrounding him. While he seems perfectly stable and chaotic good, he's actually batshit insane thanks to a certain someone! Twagic stowy under pics.

Kirei is a spawn who survived the ritual years before the game's adventures. Trans man, asexual, fighter - he's the son of a famous cleric who, at the time, was blessed directly by Selûne. He later had a child he didn't want, and left Kirei in an orphanage where he grew up until he was an adult, never adopted. Despite his clear phobia towards people and trusting - or talking - to them, alongside the crippling pain of dealing with the sensation of a body that felt wrong to him, Kirei was kind hearted. He later started working in a shop in Baldur's Gate, where the tailors were two kind nobles who dedicate their time into fashion. Kirei was an excellent tailor despite his body size; he was always praised for how delicate his hands could work on the finest fabrics. He never developed any real friendly relationships aside from the couple, until a lovely lady arrived one night at the shop before closure.

She was specifically looking for him, bombing him with lovely compliments as she opened herself up on admitting she always desired Kirei from afar. Taken by a strange urge to follow the woman's charm, and naive enough to trust her words, Kirei is lured into Cazador's mansion and tortured, then transformed into a spawn. His blood, though, is somewhat holy - Selûne's divine blessing - and blocked his transformation halfway. His heart was slow but was still beating, only one eye out of his light purple ones became red, his skin was no longer warm but not cold either - even his hunger is easier to control. After atrocious abuses Kirei gets marked, but his body does not fully transform still. Perfectionist as he is, Cazador orders to toss Kirei's starving body down the sewers from the depths of his private chambers. The fall broke his body entirely, but something kept the man alive. He remains paralyzed, feeding on what would crawl over his mouth until he could at least move his neck, for around 100 years.

The other spawns for the ritual were ready, as he was forgotten. Slowly, once Kirei could move at least his arms, he crawled and gnawed at every animal until he could get out from that fetid place. From there, everything in Baldur's Gate had changed, and his family - the tailors - were long gone without any relative left. In solitude, Kirei hides himself outside the city, away from humanity and monsters, as close as possible to the Underdark. He settles in an abandoned small house for around 6 years, stealthing his way to Baldur's Gate for supplies from time to time, knowing how to avoid danger. He knew Cazador felt him, but was paying him no mind. And it was a blessing for the man. His abduction by the mindflayers happened precisely during one of his rare visits in the city. When he awoke in the pod, the tragedy of his past hit him like a truck; again stuck, no way out, subjected to some alien experiment, etc. The fear locks his mind into a complete amnesia of what happened to him, a lock so strong that even Astarion, after knowing the truth of Cazador's doing and recognizing the markings on Kirei as identical as Sebastian's, is unable to open up.

Kirei acts as if he's external to the whole deal, and is obsessed on helping his lover against Cazador unable to even remember the monster's face, or the woman's one who lured him to his death. He ignores - or immediately forgets after hearing them - the cruel words of his master until the end. The only reaction taken out of him arrives during an exploration of the mansion's sewers; there Kirei suffers from a major manic attack, unable to stop laughing, crying and screaming to not let him crawl again until Gale puts him to sleep via magic. Once out, the man seems back to himself and yet again back to his state of ignorant bliss towards his past, deluding himself he had suffered through a fever after the difficult fight against Cazador. The group decides to never try to bring up the matter again, and Astarion - using the worm to search into that broken mind to acknowledge his suspicions - makes sure to take care of Kirei as much as Kirei takes care of him, for eternity.

Hello hello! I'm here about that persona grid you did. What is a persona??? Is it like the oc you use to represent you? Or is it some Fandom video game thing (like the persona series) I don't know much about? Have a good day!

A persona is how people express themselves via a drawn avatar/OC. Some peoples personas are literally just them, a smol version of them, an object with sunglasses, a whole ass dragon, a stickfigure, a neko girl with huge titties, etc, etc. Mine is just me (but i draw myself with 0 tits because tits suck to draw sometimes)

Ur persona is ur OC/avatar that u use to show urself on the internet in the way u wish to be seen/represented.

Also Persona is a game but it has nothing to do with a persons internet persona. Its just a game that reminds me of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Pokémon.

this is candy. candy is an undertale fandom oc. candy is an energitic happy boi. he hardly gets underthe weather unless somthing really bad happens. he's a bit of a show off but he's very sweet on the inside. he also has a candy like tail but it can crack open to a sharp sugar coated mouth with lots of sharp teeth anf poisines sugar like substance that smels sweet like honey.

(the backstory is very long so I will put it under the keep reading. read it if ya wanna)

backstory. when candy was little he was a bundle of trouble. causing fights getting himself hurt exploring strictly forbidden places. his parents once decided they had enough after some royal guards brought home a muddy colorful child. explaining he somehow had manged to break into an area nobody except the king and his top scientists were allowed. and that the security nearly killed hi before realising he was only a small child. his parents yelled and beat him before they chucked him out. they didn't want anything to do with him anymore. since he caused so much trouble. candy was left out in the cold. he didn't really know what to do. he was bleeding quite a bit from his parents and the security of  where he went. he knew his parent's probably wanted him to dust this time. so he left where he was and tried to find somewhere that wasn't as cold. he decided it would be best to just go to an abandoned area he found once climbing the biggest trees he could find in snowdin. he got there and sat under a buncha planks of wood he made into a small den. he would notice a little bunny near where he was. he would lighten up a bit before going on his knees patting his legs as if trying to encourage the rabbit to come closer. he recognised it. it was one he used to give treats to before he ran off and started trouble. the bunny would come to him expecting treats. but when it saw none would be a little confused sniffing his hands.it would let candy pet it a little though. after awhile candy got used to being cold and sleeping in the snow. about 10 years later he was 16 years old. that’s when he started causing trouble like last time. however he wasn't as easy to catch anymore. he would steal break things and scare people passing through the woods. once he scared a small child well he thought it was a child. they screamed rather loud and high pitched when he dropped down and dangled in their face his tail holding him upside down. the smol creature he scared to death was a skeleton like him. he would let go from the tree branch and do a small fast flip so he landed on his feet he would lean over the small skeliton before sayin 'heyyyy kid.uh you ok? did irealy scare u to ur death?' he would giggle a little but the skelliton would open his eyes slowly get u and poin his finger in his face and scream 'IM NOT A KID! IM 15!' they would seem really annoyed he would gesture to his hight but that only made them more pissed 'So it's because im short?? THATS RUDE HOW WOULD U LIKE IT IF I CALLED U A  FKN TREE CUZ UR TALL?! im a perfectly avarge hight il have you know.' they would pout before picking their stuff nk up and grabbing a pen with a bird keyring on it. candy would watch them before snatching he pen from them. it would have the word .Blue. written on the side. candy would look at them and go soooo do u just like the colour blue aor is it ur name or sumthin? regardless this pen thingy is mine now. they woul simply just make his hand glow blue and slowly it would go to the floor it didn't hurt but he coulden't dtop it. they would grab the pen and say 'im not in the mood to play games with someone calling me a child and calling me short.' tthey wud make a portal with it before grtting rid of the magic ristricting Candys hand Candy would smile and dive into the portal knocking the small skelliton over again before the portal closed up. candy wud be running everywhere like 'EVERYTHING IS FKN WHITE COOL!'  blue wud be very consed and annoyed he would just sit down make another pen with a small candy keywring before just placing it on the floor and leaving to go bk to biscuit. candy would eventually find it  nd start going to random places. he felt happier creating whatever he wanted and going where he wanted even though he fucks up portals most he time.

ok but, what is Kisekae?

Kisekae is a flash game/application that works mostly as a character creator, using a mix of interchangeable parts, bits you can move around freely, and lots of sliders to change sizes and positions. Think of it as the 2D version of the Sims/Spore creators.

ngl it started as a k-on hentai game back in like 2011?? there’s still k-on girls and lewd stuff around but the focus is far from it now.

LETS TALK ABOUT THE IMPORTANT STUFF FIRST

SAVING.

This is the save tab. “SAVE” and “LOAD” save the entire scene in a .txt (all models, background, items etc). "Export” shows the codes of the selected models, so you can copy them and store them somewhere. You go to “Import” to paste codes and load characters. The small pencil button opens a window to save and load entire scenes in the app’s cookies. It’s very handy but you will lose everything if you clear your cookies. The last two buttons save or load ALL the data you have in the game, aka all the scenes you saved with the pencil button.

TAKING PICTURES

fOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT DARE TAKE SCREENSHOTS there’s a handy way to save better quality pics. First slider is the zoom. It’ll be your best friend to get closer and edit faces and hairstyles and details and such. See that 05/05? That’s the PNG quality, so make sure it’s always at 5/5. The squares button next to the PNG one will make the background transparent when you snap a picture. Very cool, bc kisekae backgrounds are kinda ugly. The icon on the far right lets you select a region of the screen that’s great too

STOP THE AHEGAO

Next. If you click on the model’s clothes you’ll notice they disappear and they get surprised. The automatic emotions were good when it was a porn game but to actually create content it’s just annoying idk why it still automatically loads like that tbh.

Anyway, go here to set the facial expressions to manual mode. The “Select/All” switch makes you edit all the models at the same time or just one.  (Note: as pochi adds more tabs, they can get moved around and be put in a different group. just keep looking thru the pages until you find the icon you want)

HAVE ONLY ONE MODEL

You’ll most likely don’t need all 9 models at the same time, so you can go here to deactivate them. tbh it’s placed in a really weird place... a year ago it wasnt as confusing idk why Pochi added this update :/

TIME TO HAVE FUN

My recommendation is clicking on everything to see what happens. That’s honestly the best way to learn how to use it. Instead of explaining how to make good looking stuff (i cant do that bc. there’s not a single way of “doing things right” this is artistic expression u do what u do) i’ll jsut give some tips and tricks

1. HOLD SPACE TO GO OVER THE LIMITS OF MOST SLIDERS. It works wonders. Make heads smaller, shoulders broader, eyes thinner, hair pieces larger, bend time and space with the unlimited power of space key.

2. HAIR PIECES ARE NOT HAIR PIECES. BELTS ARE NOT BELTS. RIBBONS ARE NOT RIBBONS. Think of them as shapes to make stuff. Use hair pieces to make capes. Use the lines in the facemark section to draw a new nose. Make entire pieces of clothing out of belts and ribbons. The only downside is that if you move the head, hair pieces and ribbons move with them so making clothes out of ribbons turns your characters into statues

3. CLICK ON CLOTHES TO CHANGE STUFF. If you click on some clothing pieces you can change some things like unbuttoning shirt buttons, opening sweaters, putting sunglasses on their head and removing parts of scarves.

4. THE DEFAULT PALETTE IS UGLY. please do use a custom one

5. YOU RAN OUT OF SLOTS? Use the free floating items on the 3rd set of tabs. You can have extra belts, ribbons, arms, furniture and speech bubbles. Even load external images. But keep in mind extra stuff is not attached to characters, so it won’t move around with them or save in their individual codes.

6. USE OTHER PEOPLE’S EXPORTS RESPONSIBLY. There are lots of people on deviantArt and the Pochi forums (official Kisekae forums) that make character, clothing or hairstyle exports for other people to load and use on their creations (like Sims mods!). However, most dA people have rules if you want to use them on something you upload, so make sure to read each user’s rules!

7. TECHNICALLY THERE ARE NO MALE, MUSCULAR OR BIG BODY TYPES. You can force it out, but we’ve been forever cursed with the hip size being linked to the leg size. So your guys will either have feminine hips or scrawny ass legs. There aren’t any muscle options apart from abs, and the most similar thing we have for chub is a pregnant looking belly. You can always edit it with photoshop later or suffer and make muscles and fat with belts and hairs.

We’re going to continue our series of interviews with fandom authors with this conversation with Check, Please! author @marswithghosts. We were really excited to chat with this author, who has written several popular fics in this month’s featured fandom!

How did you first get into fandom? What was your first fandom?

I didn’t realize I was in a fandom until I was maybe fourteen or so? Fifteen? Because I think my first fandom was probably Animorphs when I was 8-10, then I got into Harry Potter, anime in high school (Gundam Wing, my love), then probably Supernatural and then Check, Please!. I sort of fell into everything by accident, just about! I’ve always had a huge imagination for things, and I’ve always wanted to be more involved with the media I consume. So I think that’s probably how I got into it. I started thinking, “What if this were to happen? Or this? Why isn’t this in the book? I want to read it.” And then I would just write it for myself at first. I didn’t start posting any of my fic until I was on fanfiction.net in early high school. Don’t go looking for it—it’s pretty…awful…

Other than writing fic, do you participate in any other fandom activities such as drawing fan art, podfic, gif making, meta, cosplaying, etc?

I legitimately have no other skills besides writing, to be honest with you. I enjoy everything from everyone else, but I am not a big contributor to fandom besides the writing itself! I have lots of friends who have cosplayed, drawn great art, made gifs, and their meta is so complex and interesting…but that ain’t me.

What inspired you to start writing fic?

I’ve always been a writer, ever since I was in about first grade. I enjoyed writing, I liked exploring my imagination, and I didn’t realize that what I was writing at first was fan fiction. When I wrote about myself being an Animorph, I never knew that was any different from any other kind of writing. It was only when I got into Harry Potter and Gundam Wing that I discovered fanfiction.net and started realizing that “fanfiction” is when characters belong to someone else but the words and the story are totally mine. This is always what got me interested in Alternate Universes—damn near everything I write is AU, and I probably enjoy writing AUs the most.

What is your favorite thing you have written so far?

Sheesh, this is a hard one. Honestly? Totally honestly? Probably A Little Bit Closer in Check, Please! fandom. It’s the longest thing I’ve ever written in my life, and so much of it is really *mine*. It made me realize, hey—I actually *can* do a novel if I really want to. And so I am now working on an original novel.

What is your favorite fic by someone else?

There are a lot of them—too many to even comprehend at this point, honestly. My actual real-life fiancée is @annundriel​ (Ed. note: Annundriel on AO3), and I’ve always enjoyed her writing from way back in our Supernatural days. I think she has a really poetic way with words and imagery while staying very genuine and honest to the source material. I think that’s a really impressive feat that I’ve never been able to get the hang of…which is why I just make AUs :)

How did you get into Check Please?

This is actually embarrassing. I didn’t want to read the comic at all. But annundriel started reading it and gushed about it so much and showed me all these things that made absolutely no sense (there’s a character whose actually named Shitty?), but then I finally read it…and I fell in love with it…and she started writing fic and I loved her fic…and then I went on AO3 and found more fic…and then I wrote my own fic…and here I am a year later.

What pairings do you like to read in this fandom? What pairings do you like to write? Do you read gen fic?

My favorite pairings are Zimbits, Dex/Nursey, and—I have to admit this—Kent/Javier Martinez (my OC) (Ed. note: The fic is if this isn’t nice, i don’t know what is). I also like Kent/Tater as well! I’ll read just about anything if I like the writing, though, so I’m more willing to branch out now than I used to be even six months ago. As far as writing…I prefer Zimbits and Kent/Tater, Kent/Javier. I like doing Dex/Nursey, but still struggle with those characterizations; the others feel most natural to me. For gen fic: I would totally read gen fic, but I’m more inclined toward the ships. If it’s recommended to me by someone I trust, I’ll read anything.

What's your favorite fic trope?

Lord, there are so many. Fake dating, accidentally falling in love, tol and smol, etc. I also love coffee shop AUs, any customer service AUs (where’s the call center AU? oh right, that’s a WIP I’ve got…) Can you tell how I feel about AUs.

Do you ever get writer's block? What do you do to combat it?

I get writer’s block all the time. And with my anxiety, I also get panic attacks for sometimes no reason. When I get writer’s block, it’s intense. I have a lot of negative feels of worthlessness and self-doubt. When I was in grad school for my MFA, I kind of couldn’t afford to have writer’s block, since I had deadlines and workshops and my grades were at stake. Lately what I’ve tried to do is impose deadlines on myself—for example, I knew with my Kent/OMC story I wanted to post it for the very beginning of 2017. So I basically told myself “Okay, you’re going to get this done because you can,” and I went from there. Now what I do is I try to write by hand. I have several fancy notebooks and I’m currently obsessed with fountain pens and inks, so handwriting is enjoyable and soothing. It makes me want to put ink on the page so I can watch the pretty colors. This helps my anxiety a lot because I don’t feel quite as pressured as I do when I’m sitting at my computer and staring at a blank page. I’m so long-winded with my stories, even the short ones, that computer writing gets daunting really fast.

Do you have any recs for us to share with our readers?

— Because I’ve been so focused on my own writing, taking control of my mental health (and my physical health in general—yay for great employer health coverage), and playing video games (who’s ready for Mass Effect Andromeda?), I haven’t been reading as much fic lately. This fandom is tremendously talented and funny and brightening. I’m pleased to be a part of it.

( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ when i’ve started to draw 4 or well almost 5 years ago. everything was confused in mah mind. The most difficult was to begin. so i started with drawing in a manga style…i drew a lot AND a lot.i was copying entire pages of Tales of symphonia. (my favorite manga and video game).that’s where the passion for fan art started. a good beginning full of passion!

Since that i’ve been moar receptive to some kind of manga. chibi round style was my favorite. magical doremi took a big place in mah kokoro.

The next drawing you’ll see was the beginning of my new art style. and i deeply knew it in mah bones. i was not expecting to draw this.i think it was only luck.

that was …a strange feel. like i was enjoyin’ it so much that i could draw it every.single.day. 

That was not exceptionnal. but i felt like nobody could draw like that. except me.(there is the over confidence part of a art newbie. follow this feel like it was your last chance.u need to not give up.u did the most difficult part so far! follow your intuition ! this little rainbow in your mind ! )

i kept drawing. again. and again. for months and  freakin’ months. 

i was certainly inspired of tim burton for the chibis and the headshots, if my memory doesn’t say shit,the artist is reapersun.

I was at a point i knew i had to take risks. It’s when, i accepted requests from ppl on deviantart . I couldn’t work alone. so i accepted everything.

i was also on a french forum, and ppl were giving meh a lot of reviews. that was helpful and that’s when i understood i needed a community for progressin’. compliments,opinions,reviews. YOU NEED THAT. accept them and shut your mouth. they’re right. put your pride somewhere else. and accept to see ppl better than you at something.〔´∇｀〕

At some points, i was also giving reviews. that was huge. like 3 or 4 open office pages for a small drawing.it took me hours but it’s important to kno’ how to give a review to somewahn bc that makes u think about their art and yours as well. training ur eyes to spot the mistakes.

i was drawing a lot of fan arts of their characters. They were only potato/egg-characters. that helped me to find a digital color style when i bought my first tablet.

btw,i waited 1 year and half before buying mah smol wacom. I prefered to keep practicing on paper. if you can’t draw properly on paper. digital won’t help u. it’s not a magic trick that makes ppl talented. ≡(*′▽`)っ

i have way moar respect for traditionnal artists. sooo much respect.u don’t even kno’.

that’s when i started to extrapolate EVERYTHING. Colors, anatomy,expressions .( Everythin’ i ‘m drawing during this kind of practice period is wrong. extremely wrong and full of mistakes. But i have to do this bc i put so much energy into mah artworks that i can’t think properly until i’m mentally exhausted. (it’s completely personal,but i need to be broken af for understanding how pitiful i am and finaaally letting myself learning something new. ) )

so,when i’m completely exhausted(it’s a very heartful moment,like a huge art block),i leave my artworks in a corner,i don’t touch it for hours,days,weeks or sometimes months.nobody can touch it .except me and i analyze and re analyze them until i completely hate what i do bc i found all the mistakes. 

At this moment, i’m ready for experimenting again, learn from my mistakes and move on.

Sometimes we need to take risks and get out of our comfort zone !!! just.fuckin. DO IT. it’s toxic to stay in our comfort zone for too long . 8;A;8

An exemple of extrapolated drawing: Too much colors, too big arms / legs, too shiny,too weird and unlogical.We can’t understand. but whatever. it’s the beginning of something new! 

as smol addition to what i’ve said before, this is at this moment i can figure out my real problems .it’s only when i’m emotionallynot attached to mah art anymoar that i can finally produce something new .

However, i don’t personally give a fuck to tutorials,i’m too lazy for that. i have to discover everythin’ by mahself. (but this. it’s misplaced pride. so don’t do that .plz.learn from the others ,you won’t lose time like meh.)

Not everythin’ is on my table,i have waaaay more sketchbooks and it’s only traditional but there is certainly 2 years of practice in front of you. Don’t need to tell u but everythin’ is full ofc .i also finished a new wahn this week. plz remind meh to buy another one.

I also have THE HUGE CHANCE to have comic student artists as friends and they sometimes lend to me comic books(O3O ~LAST MAN. MAH LIL FAVORITE URG. ). I wish i had more place,but i read a lot of books ! i love goin’ to the library and read everythin’ i can ‘til my head hurts haha. (and LOOK ,”astemio”the book on the right ! i participated to this fanzine. oh boi.i’m so proud even if mah art in there is so shitty )

i don’t think i even could pick oneumi haven’t mentioned enlil yet, i suppose, and i mean? he’s not very developed, but he brings me an indescribable amount of peace when i talk/think about him, soi’m not actually sure if it’s okay for me to use that name, but eh. if not people can yell at me and i’ll change it. names are hard sometimesbut anyways i don’t have much of anything on him? he’s deaf. generally pretty calm and relaxed. like shiv, except actually a good personidk what it is abt him, he just?? puts me at peace? makes me feel good? like i only made him last year but he’s like, the personification of what nostalgia feels likeso he’s really important to me just bc of how comforting he is. like just thinking abt him could probably get me out of an anxiety attack

ekundayo is my beautiful bab and also olivia’s long-distance gfi haven’t done a ton of development on her but i love her bc listen they’re one of those relationships where olivia is literally the most stoic intense fucker around who will kill u and ekundayo is the purest and softest around everyone but then u see them together and olivia’s obviously happy and totally whipped by her sweet but also unexpectedly dom gf and i love them, okay
