Characters: 

-Logan Whittaker: A biologist whose goal is to save the forest he lives in. Very conscious of how the lifestyle of modern society has ruined the environment. Also very interested in astronomy, and learning in general. Tends to see the logic in everything except for his own romantic situation. Unwilling to accept that he is in a toxic relationship with his cheating boyfriend, very meek and shy around him. 

-Patton Parsons: Said toxic, cheating boyfriend. Hunter, and doesn’t care at all about the environment and finds joy in the killing of innocent things. Somewhat sadistic in that sense, but who’s diagnosing? Not me. Cheating on his boyfriend, thinks he doesn’t know. Lazy and rude. 

-Roman: Half-chameleon, half person. No parents. Has lived all over the area, but eventually finds a temporary home in the forest. Kind and silly, and way too brave for his own good. A very quick learner, especially in linguistics. Able to disguise as other people and change colors to blend into his surroundings. 

Plot:

Logan’s passion is biology, and working to find ways to save the planet from ruin. He lives in a beautiful cottage in the woods with his boyfriend, who works in the city while Logan does research from home. But Logan’s boyfriend isn’t good to him. He beats him and yells at him if he makes the smallest mistakes. But one night, everything changes. Logan comes home to Patton being kind and excitable. He’s eager to listen to Logan talk about his research, and he cuddles him gently, instead of being rough and demanding. Logan doesn’t understand what changed. But to his horror, when he wakes up the next morning, Patton is exactly the same as he always was: cruel and vile. And this pattern continues for a few days. Patton is awful, Logan leaves, Logan comes back, and Patton is wonderful. 

But one day, things are different. Logan falls asleep, and when he opens his eyes, he’s face to face with a creature he’d never seen before instead of Patton. A chameleon-looking person. Turns out, Roman had been disguising himself as Patton with his powers whenever Patton left to cheat on Logan (though Logan doesn’t know that Patton is doing this), so he could take care of the precious human that Roman sees through the window being beaten and tortured. Logan at first is horrified, but then, he realizes how sweet Roman is, and how much he enjoys his company. So he agrees to let Roman stay with him, as long as Roman stays hidden from Patton. Logan knew that if Patton managed to get his hands on Roman, then he would be in grave danger.

Hey, I was looking through your stuff about Shadow of Shady Shore, and I really want to hear the lore behind it! Why is this random dad turning into a fluffy werewolf-adjacent monster? Who are the two women he hangs out with? Did he have a wife of some sort? You don't need to answer, but I am very curious.

The Random Dad's name is Luka (he/him). He's a divorced single father. His daughter's name is Harriet (she/they) but he calls her Bug. One day he kinda just. melted. for some reason. and turned into that big snake/slug/ferret/werewolf adjacent creature you see in some of my drawings. He can shapeshift and hold that shape for only a certain amount of time so he uses that to take on human form to do normal people things like try to hold down a job and take his kid to school. They move to a tiny kind-of-quiet-but-not-really town called Shady Shore. In Shady Shore, they meet some people like the person with the freckles who studies plants (Clover - she/her), and the tall guy with glasses (MJ-they/them), they're an artist and part-time waiter at a local diner. Clover also has a niece she takes care of named Bonnie (she/her). They all become become friends eventually, but I like drawing them post-becoming friends because i currently have no plans to do anything with this at the moment and just wanna draw em holding hands and doing chores. (burnout recovery reasons) Luka's arrival to the town causes a bit of a stir as some of the townies spot him in the woods in creature mode and now everyone's on the look out for the mysterious cryptid that has suddenly shown up in town, both locals and tourists, alike. He did have a wife at some point, but they aren't together anymore.

I rewatched ‘Eclipse puts his plan into action’ and now all I can think about is other Eclipses and my AU Eclipses showing up in varying degrees of upset after Eclipse sends out SOSs to other Eclipses.

Like Comet showing up annoyed and telling Sun that Eclipse is behind whatever is happening because he got an SOS from him. Or Star and Eclipse from Kill Lunar showing up and and forcing Eclipse to fess up to Moon afterwards and bopping KC on the head when he tries to make a deal with Moon.

Sirius pops in and beats Eclipse and KC with a wrench, literally the ‘beat them away with a stick’ method. Dadclipse takes one look at the situation and just glares at KC slowly gaining sentience and says ‘quit fucking up and no deals either or I’m coming in there and it sounds cramped enough in there, Moon is depressed enough and don’t you dare be in there already hunting my baby brother or so help me’.

I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything about this persons stuff but a big inspiration for the design of my character Umbra is from @/doodledrawsthings art

I got into their art back when I was in the BATIM fandom and recently rediscovered stuff they made. especially love their AHIT au (which is my only context for that game despite me owning it for the switch I haven’t played it yet ok) and original characters stuff from Shadow of Shady Shore, who the character I drew here Luka is from. Idk if there’s somewhere I can actually read soss? Like a comic or something? but I love all the concept art I’ve seen.

Mehr Sicherheitslücken in europäischer Software

Rund 80 Prozent der Anwendungen, die in EMEA-Staaten entwickelt wurden, hatten mindestens eine Schwachstelle. Das ist das Ergebnis der Studie „State of Software Security (SoSS)-Report EMEA“ von Veracode zeigen. Unter allen Regionen weist die EMEA-Region auch den höchsten Prozentsatz an Schwachstellen mit hohem Schweregrad auf. Das bedeutet, dass bei Ausnutzung einer Schwachstelle ein kritisches Problem in der jeweiligen Anwendung entstehen könnte. Denn eine hohe Anzahl von Fehlern und Schwachstellen in Software-Code korreliert mit einem erhöhten Sicherheitsrisiko. Es ist also nicht verwunderlich, dass Cyberangriffe auf die Software-Lieferkette im Jahr 2023 die Schlagzeilen beherrschen. Die Marktforscher fanden heraus, dass knapp über 80 Prozent der von EMEA-Organisationen entwickelten Anwendungen bei ihrer letzten Überprüfung innerhalb von 12 Monaten mindestens eine Sicherheitslücke aufwiesen. In den USA war das bei 73 Prozent der Organisationen der Fall. Darüber hinaus war der Prozentsatz der Anwendungen, die Schwachstellen mit hohem Schweregrad enthielten, mit fast 20 Prozent in EMEA der höchste von allen Regionen weltweit. 750.000 Anwendungen analysiert "Unsere Daten zeigen, dass Unternehmen weltweit eine hohe Anzahl von Anwendungen mit vielen der Top 25 CWE-Schwachstellen (Common Weakness Enumeration) einsetzen", so Chris Eng, Chief Research Officer bei Veracode. "Wir haben jedoch interessante regionale Unterschiede festgestellt, insbesondere in Bezug auf die Verwendung von Drittanbieter- oder Open-Source-Code und die Art und Weise, wie Schwachstellen über den gesamten Lebenszyklus einer Anwendung hinweg eingeführt werden", so Eng weiter. Die Analyse von Daten aus mehr als 27 Millionen Scans von 750.000 Anwendungen bilden die Basis des „State of Software Security (SoSS)-Report“ von Veracode über den Status der Software-Sicherheit. Der aktuelle Bericht zeigt die EMEA-spezifischen Ergebnisse für 2023 für Großbritannien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien sowie den Nahen Osten und Afrika. Doch Zahlen allein zeigen nicht, welche Folgen die Ausnutzung von Software-Schwachstellen durch Hacker haben kann. Da Unternehmen in der gesamten EMEA-Region eine immer komplexere Mischung aus Software von Drittanbietern nutzen, kann die Ausnutzung einer schwerwiegenden Sicherheitslücke Tausende von Opfern gleichzeitig treffen. Zu Beginn dieses Jahres wurde eine Schwachstelle in den Drucksoftware-Tools PaperCut MF und PaperCut NG von Hackern aktiv ausgenutzt. Bis zu 70.000 Organisationen in 200 Ländern wurden zu potenziellen Opfern. Strafverfolgungsbehörden zufolge gelang es Bedrohungsakteuren, damit Einrichtungen im Bildungssektor zu kompromittieren. Java und Code von Drittanbietern bergen erhebliche Sicherheitslücken Die Studie ergab bemerkenswerte regionale Unterschiede hinsichtlich der bevorzugten Programmiersprache. Java stellte sich als die bevorzugte Sprache für Entwickler in EMEA heraus. Außerdem zeigte die Studie: Teams, die Java verwenden, beheben Schwachstellen langsamer als Entwickler, die .NET oder JavaScript verwenden. Das führt dazu, dass viele Schwachstellen fortbestehen oder wesentlich länger unentdeckt bleiben, da Java-Anwendungen zu mehr als 95 Prozent aus Drittanbieter- oder Open-Source-Code bestehen. Damit ist die Java-Nutzung ein Schlüsselfaktor für den höheren Prozentsatz von Schwachstellen in Anwendungen in der EMEA-Region. Deswegen ist die Software Composition Analysis (SCA), die Schwachstellen in Open-Source-Code aufspürt, so wichtig. Die Studie zeigt auch, dass der Anteil der durch SCA gemeldeten Schwachstellen in EMEA höher ist als in anderen Regionen. Da generative KI in der Softwareentwicklung immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnt, steigt das Risiko von Schwachstellen aus externen Quellen. Eine Studie, die 2022 auf der Black Hat vorgestellt wurde, zeigte Schwachstellen in 40 Prozent des Codes, der von generativer KI geschrieben wurde, die auf riesigen, nicht aufbereiteten Datenmengen, inklusive Milllionen von öffentlichen GitHub Repositories, trainiert worden war. Daher ist es von entscheidender Bedeutung, dass Unternehmen SCA-Tools einsetzen, um Schwachstellen zu finden und zu beheben. So können Entwickler von den Vorteilen von KI profitieren, ohne die Sicherheit der Anwendungen zu gefährden. Anwendungen werden mit der Zeit immer anfälliger Neue Schwachstellen im Code treten in EMEA über den gesamten Lebenszyklus von Anwendungen hinweg in weitaus höherem Maße auf als in anderen Regionen. Zwar halten Unternehmen in der EMEA-Region ihre Anwendungen auf dem neuesten Stand, aber es wird weniger auf die Qualität geachtet. So weißen nach einem Zeitraum von fünf Jahren 50 Prozent der Anwendungen in der EMEA-Region nach wie vor neue Fehler auf. Weltweit ist das im Vergleich nur bei rund 30 Prozent so. Insgesamt liegt die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass in einem bestimmten Monat eine Schwachstelle auftritt, bei 27 Prozent. Für Unternehmen in der EMEA-Region wäre es daher von Vorteil, dem letzten Teil des Anwendungslebenszyklus mehr Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken und Anwendungen regelmäßiger zu scannen. Außerdem sollten sie der Sicherheitsschulung von Entwicklern Vorrang einräumen. Denn die Studie zeigt: Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine Schwachstelle auftritt, sinkt durch die Teilnahme an 10 interaktiven Sicherheitsübungen von 27 Prozent auf etwa 25 Prozent. "Der diesjährige SoSS-Report verdeutlicht, wie wichtig es ist, das Thema Sicherheit über den gesamten Software-Lebenszyklus hinweg im Auge zu behalten. Vor allem die Betrachtung der Risiken von Drittanbieter- und KI-generiertem Code spielt dabei eine bedeutende Rolle", so Eng weiter. "Weltweit stellen wir immer noch eine besorgniserregende Anzahl von Schwachstellen fest – und in der EMEA-Region sind sie bei fast allen Erhebungen höher. So @nibwhipdragon asked to hear about my AU, Song of Shooting Stars! I'm not sure how to explain it since woo, is there a LOT of lore, but I'll give the basic description of the AU!

There are tales of different universes, meeting when the world is at stake. Not many records appear in worlds, but books tell of their existence. An intrauniversal bond.

Sonic hears legends all the time. Some of them he believes, like the legend of the water god Chaos, others he pushes away. When he begins dreaming of a human boy, one with a similar fate to him, he pays no mind to it. Until the fight with Finalhazard leaves him without Shadow.

Joseph doesn't believe in legends. Even though he fights the supernatural on a daily basis, he doesn't just believe in everything. When he begins dreaming of a shooting star, one that guides him through the sky, he pays no mind. Until disaster strikes and the world takes Caesar away.

Two heroes, in two different dimensions. The hedgehog, and the human. The fate of two worlds tied to the stars on their hands. When they both fail to save the one that means the most to them, the world gives them a second chance. In the wrong body.

There are two stories: Mark of the Joestar, told from Joseph's perspective, and Star of Chaos, told from Sonic's perspective.

Mark of the Joestar:

Two months has passed since Joseph saved the world. Suzi Q was the one to save his life, looking after him before his body healed. But despite it all Joseph refused to fall into a relationship and instead attempted to live life as normal with the sudden appearance of his mother. Until, one night, he sees the shooting star that was guiding him through his entire adventure. Even though his heart had healed from the loss of Caesar, he reaches out for it, the star on his back throbbing.

He finds himself back on Air Supplena, locked into battle with Caesar. Surprised, he keeps up the fight, throwing his all in the spar. As he charges his hamon, a shooting star falls above him, and he passes out.

When he awakens, he find himself in the company of an anthromorphic fox. And things get worse when he finds out he's meant to save the world. Hey, at least he has super speed!

Star of Chaos:

Years have passed since Sonic's fight against the Ark. Shadow came back to life, albeit without his memories, but at least they were getting along. Very well. Peace was established for a little while before Eggman's next plan. And this time, Eggman has a surefire plan to take over the world. When the whole world starts to fall apart, Sonic is captured. With only the expanse of space as his company, he sees a shooting star break away into a million pieces. His mind goes to the shattered star, falling within his dreams.

And suddenly he's back before it all happened. Right after he escaped from jail and found out Shadow was a friend. Caught in the battle with Shadow, Sonic charges up his Chaos energy to show exactly what he's made of. The falling star shatters overhead, and the next thing he knows he's passed out.

When he opens his eyes he's woken up by a loud voice. Training? Why did he have to do training? Then he realizes he's in a bed. And there's a human at the door.

What the-? Why was he so freakishly huge?! He towered over everything!

Basically, Sonic is sent to mid Battle Tendency while Joseph is sent to mid Sonic Adventure 2. Everyone around them slowly figures out that their friend is not acting as they usually do, and things get chaotic. So, some new friendships are made, and, eventually, they learn how to swap bodies willingly!

This is what they look like when body swapped! (With an extra Shadow and Caesar)

Every night they can contact each other through dreams, and, since body swapping grants them different abilities, sometimes they have to co-ordinate what they're doing. Which is easier said than done with these two. Overtime they make new friendships with all kinds of people! :D

Sonic is known as the Shooting Star, while Joseph is known as the Shattered Star. Sonic's main colour is white, while Joseph's is black, with a matching star of their respective colour on their palms!

At the end of this story is Sonic Forces, where Sonic is captured on thr Death Egg but ends up witnessing a meteorite hit Mobius. One that suspiciously looks a lot like a certain Ultimate Thing...

And this is their outfits by the end of the series. (Their outfit change is gradual.)

And at the end of THAT story is Sonic Frontiers. Both are stories for another day.

That's a basic rundown of the AU! There's a bit more lore, but we don't want an essay now, don't we?

Passend zu den unten genannten Themen-Streams nun auch das: Etwas, das mir seit den Tagen meiner Kindheit nicht mehr passiert ist, als Gemüse beispielsweise doch in vielen Fällen ausgeprochen, sagen wir, ärgerlich für die Zunge eines sensitiven Kindes auf den Teller meistens mit Begleitung kam. Und nun: Die Süsskartoffel! Ursprünglich aus Südamerika, erfreut sie sich auch hier immer größerer Beliebtheit. Nur nicht bei mir! Ich fand sie, ingesamt gesehen, einfach ekelhaft. Heute abend nun war das Lager fast leer hier, nur eine angebrochene Dose Kokosmilch wartete noch auf Verwendung. Und Curry-Pasten habe ich fast immer auf Vorrat. Die machen das ganze schön scharf, pikant. Dazu ein paar Jalapenos in die Mischung aus Dip und Sauce. Oder heißt das Sosse? Etwas getrocknetes grünes Gewürz, in diesem Fall Liebstöckl, Oregano hätte es bestimmt auch getan. Viel Salz. Sehr viel Salz nach dem Dip - Test mit Süsskartoffel als Pommes gebacken! Gut, etwas knuspriger sollte es schon sein, habe einen hoffentlich wirkungsvollen Tipp verlinkt auf dem Board "Eine kleine Kulturgeschichte der Küche": Und schon konnten auch wir Freunde werden. Was soll ich noch sagen! Ja. Wieder was gelernt!

So Soss is actually an AHIT au made original!! Scroll thru their "ahit coffee shop AU" tag to find everything! before that was the "oh the humanity" au / "oth!au" which was just the same thing but in reverse/in canon

Basic premise for oth! is Snatcher becomes his human form. Hijinks ensue. Coffee Shop AU is the human, Luka was cursed into being stuck in Snatcher's form instead hehe
