Stella groaned; it wasn't like she had a complete plan after she left her village. The elder forbid her from leaving without his permission, but the Au Ra knew full well that the man had no intention of doing so. She was old enough at this point to no longer need their approval, despite their efforts to make her feel confined. They would probably call her a traitor, but this was what the woman's heart wanted to do. In order to embark on her own adventure and become a great White mage, just like her mother.

Stella yawned and grabbed her head as the area around her feet turned black. The woman sensed herself falling, then all of a sudden a dazzling light flooded the scene. She looked around, wincing, before peering at a black clock and mask-wearing person. In her heart and thoughts, she heard the following voice:

 Hear... Feel... Think...

Stella's eyes suddenly widened as a result of how quickly everything happened. What had just taken place? It felt like a dream, but that voice that whispered into her mind was still there. A drunken elderly man started speaking to her, breaking her train of thinking.

‘Y'all right, lass? You were moanin' in your sleep an' sweatin' buckets besides. That'll be the aether, I reckon. Some are more prone to the sickness than others. No need to fret, though. You'll soon get used to it.’

Stella cocked her head to the side thoughtfully. When had she fallen asleep, and what did that scene actually mean? Her hitting that cloaked figure, and how her clothes changed to those of an experienced White mage, Au Ra tried her best to maintain her composure despite the overwhelming situation. The last thing she wanted was to seem crazy, especially if she was the only one who saw this vision. The carriage that was transporting them stopped. Au Ra climbed out of her seat thus she wouldn't remain making herself look more bizarre. As she turned, the lovely forest village in front of her caught her attention.

The Black Shroud—the ancient forest close to the heart of Eorzea. Beneath the boughs of its towering trees lies the woodland city-state of Gridania. Once a sanctuary from the world beyond the Hedge, even the mighty elementals, eternal guardians of the forest, could not forestall the coming of the Seventh Umbral Era. However, the goddess Nophica was never one to forsake Her children, and today She welcomes another brave soul...one who may yet play a telling role in the tale of this great realm. May the Matron take her to Her Bosom, that she may never want. And in her heart sow serenity, purity, and sanctity.

Stella got startled when a guard summoned her. In his message, he advised her to go to the Carline Canopy. A test before she could wander the city. The Explorers' Guild Unlike her own community, which frequently felt very remote, at least they were friendly. The woman hated to acknowledge it, but she missed the Oasis, where she spent most of her time, and it was the only place she desired to visit again.

After putting in some effort and accomplishing a few missions for Mother Miounne, the Au Ra was eventually granted access to the city for exploration. The first place she chose to go was the Conjurer's Guild. If the adventurers guild expected her to help the people of Gridania, she would need to keep going. They did have a few other job classes here, but White Mage was the one she really wanted.

There were many new mages like herself trying out different spells in the busy guild. Stella hoped she didn't stand out too much, but she had a sneaking suspicion that any expert could spot a novice mage from a mile away. She took a deep breath and calmed down before contacting any guild members for assistance or guidance.

'You must be new? No need to feel embarrassed, my dear. We do have a few people here who have lived here for most of their lives, like X’Kijin over there. He is quite knowledgeable about the area and will no doubt be delighted to direct you. But please, keep your distance. He hasn't divulged much to anyone, therefore I'm unable to explain why.'

Stella tilted her head in perplexity, but she didn't want to hurt anyone, so she slowly made her way over to a black-haired Miqo'te who was leaning against the wall. Because she didn't want to violate whatever unspoken barrier he had set up, the Au Ra kept her distance. It jogged her memory about how she had her own share of things that were based on events she had while she was growing up in her village. She didn't want to annoy or offend him by approaching too closely. She turned, grinned at the Miqo'te, and sat down at an adjacent table.

"Pardon me. You have lived in this area for some time and are a conjurer yourself, the guild member over there told me. Being new to this area, I was wondering if you had any suggestions."

This was embarrassing, Stella didn’t know this man and he had no reason whatsoever to give her any help. He could easily ignore her, and the Au Ra wouldn’t even blame him. All adventures needed to start somewhere right?
