Within these confines sealed in black
Awaiting forgiveness
From a world so cruel and strange
Cast out to live within the void
Dusk falls and blind eyes awaken
Forth from our dormant sadness
It has begun
One final strike against the setting sun
And when the breath
Dies within me
Will your remember our name always…?
Twilight points the way
On beating wings all veiled in red
Freed from isolation
Over our fading domain
Breathing so scornful Terra's wind
Knowing our line soon is ending
Fading shadows covered by the light
Such memories lost from sight
Forth from our dormant sadness
It has begun
One final strike against the setting sun
And when the breath
Dies within me
Will your remember our name always…?
Twilight points the way

@anomalisticofferings tagged me to show the albums I've been listening to recently. Lately I've barely heard music but here they are, love to see how Hällas are always on the list.
I tag @riveroflonging, @valley-of-sacrifice, @tombofgod, @karontte and @crumbargento.

Monday, August 15: Sumerlands, “Lost My Mind”
The first Sumerlands record was a strange surprise, not because it did anything new (the trad metal revival was in full swing by 2016), but because it was so specific in its approach: everyone was referencing Maiden, Priest and Metallica, but hardly anyone had thought to use early Queensrÿche as their template. And although Phil Swanson was far from a Geoff Tate clone, tracks like “Lost My Mind” were clearly the work of guys who had fully absorbed The Warning, especially when it came to the riffs and drama embedded in the arrangement. It was here where guitarist Arthur Rizk arguably announced himself, as he would essentially go straight from Sumerlands to a successful producing career, but Sumerlands itself had a longer tail, steadily gaining acclaim over time and subsequently being regarded as one of the best and most focused of the new metal albums out there.

Between Black Friday and various pre-order shipments finally coming through, my cup runneth over with new music to play to in my hallowed listening chamber. Relapse was blowing out so much stuff on Black Friday, so they especially took a bunch of my money.
Uada, Tribunal, Dream Unending/Worm, Friisk, Sumerlands, Razor, Death, Outer Heaven, Zakk Sabbath
