A friend of mine had three tickets to the P!nk concert tonight so we got to go. A different friend had Eras tickets in May so I went then, too.

Something about witnessing the reclamation of girlhood - the safety of both P!nk’s and Taylor’s crowds, the joy and the sequins and the colour pink -has healed something far recessed in my heart I didn’t know that I needed fixed.

I am more sure than ever that I’m a transmasuline person (most likely trans man but that’s a gender crisis for a different post). But…I had a girlhood, (and I don’t know if that’s breaking taboo as a trans person, to talk about my Before but I’m doing it) and it was flawed and it was scattered and the man I am still needs to work on healing the little girl I started out as. Because for over a decade I was a little girl.

But when P!nk sat down to sing Don’t Let Me Get Me and the lyrics “my parents hated me” tore themselves out of my throat at mach “Jesus take the wheel” something…….changed. Something shattered - splintered and disintegrated and I sang the rest of the song with my whole chest; all of it every “I’m a hazard to myself” and each “doctor won’t you please prescribe me something” warbled out of me at notes I can’t really hit anymore and something put itself back together

I….got my prescription to be someone else. I inject it once a week and I am experiencing a boyhood I thought would be lost to me…and I am healing the little girl I was then. These incredible talented women, *All Too Well* and *Blow Me One Last Kiss* and *Fearless* and *Never gonna not dance again*-ing out here is special. It’s shining and beautiful and golden and the little girl I started as is being seen. I can see her, and she was beautiful. And she’s grown up into a man who is trying his best.
