summary: your daughter prepared a little surprise for Mingyu

Happy Father's Day | Kim Mingyu

As you picked your 8 year old daughter up from school, she excitedly showed you what she made for her dad. She enthusiastically waved her letter covered in glitter while she rambled about her activities at school

You chuckled, finding joy in her childish like enthusiasm.

"Careful, you're gonna get glitter all over yourself if you keep waving your letter around"

Your daughter stopped her frantic movements, looking down at herself finding that she did in fact get glitter all over herself.

She sheepishly smiled up at you, but you only laughed again, not having the heart to scold her on such a special day.

Once back at home, you urged her to wash up, not wanting to find glitter all over your house. Meanwhile, you began preparing dinner, deciding to make Mingyus favorite food.

Not long after, your daughter came bouncing towards you, a shy smile on her lips. Gently, she tugged at your sleeves, making you crouch down to her level.

"Mommy...I wanna make a present with you"

You heart swelled at her sudden bashfulness. Softly smiling at her, you placed your hand on top if her head, gently stroking her soft locks.

"Of course honey, what do you want to make?"

Her eyes lit up at this. "I wanna draw daddy!!"

And so you did. To say the stick figure didn't look much like Mingyu was an understatement, but you didn't have it in you to tell her.

Soon enough, you heard the sound of keys jingling and door opening and closing, announcing Mingyus arrival. Your daughter shot up from your lap, hurriedly grabbing the presents. She shoved them at you, exclaiming in a hushed whisper "Hide them!"

You placed them inside a cabinet while your daughter threw her arms around her dad. She placed a big smooch on his cheek, giggling as Mingyu twirled her in his arms with a big smile.

Suddenly you felt strong arms snake around your waist, lifting you off from the floor. You squealed in surprise, pulling a loud laugh from Mingyu. Once he gently placed you on the floor, he pressed a kiss to your temple. You relished the moment, a feeling of content spreading through you.

"Get a room!!"

Well that didn't last long. Nevertheless, Mingyu laughed once again, bringing his attention to your daughter. "How was your day kiddo?"

Time went by in a blur as you all filled each other in on your daily activities while enjoying the food you previously made. Before you knew it, the day was coming to a close, dinner was eaten and laughs were shared.

Your daughter stood up abruptly catching the attention of the both of you. Tugging at your sleeve once again, she leaned up to whisper into your ear. "Where did you hide it?"

You pointed at the cabinet. You watched in amusement as she scrambled onto a chair, reaching into the cabinet and taking out the small presents. She not so discreetly hid them behind her back, a glint in her eyes and a proud smile on her lips as she looked at Mingyu.

She took his hand in hers, pulling him out of his chair. Wordlessly she handed him both presents, watching intently his reaction.

Mingyu burst into a huge smile, eyes crinkling up into curves. He laughed at the sight of the messy glitter and little drawings with stick figures.

He pulled her close, kissing the top of her head. "Thank you sweetheart, I love it"

She once again smiled proudly, a look of accomplishment plastered on her face.

You took the cards, sticking them to the fridge, adding to the collection of presents from past years.
