So Israel agreed to a temporary ceasefire. I think we all recognize this for what it actually is: a PR campaign. An effort to regain some footing in the propaganda war.

Now is the time to raise our voices as loud as they can get. A “temporary ceasefire” won’t placate us. We need to be even louder than before. Show them that as long as Palestinians are still under threat, we will not let up, we will never let up, until Palestine is free.

Try to do something at least once a day. Send a letter, call a rep or senator, or go to a protest if you are able. You can even send a letter directly to the White House.

And for sure, call your reps on Thanksgiving Day. Calling on a holiday like this will show them that we’re taking no breaks from protesting. If they’re expecting us to take a holiday break from standing up for what’s right, boy are they wrong.

I'm still a bit surprised CNN aired this. Nima Elbagir managed to express so much empathy in a very subtle way while reporting the facts. I have seen her before and knew she reported on important issues within Africa for example but definitely gonna look up more of her interviews where I can find them.

That mother embracing her daughter as they reunited brought tears to my eyes. I know the ceasefire is temporary and not the end goal but it's hard not to be happy at a moment like this.
