ok another free shot! Here’s something I’ve been mulling a lot lately, between the decisions polls and TFS – Celegorm and Curufin were not, to begin with, wholly wrong in Nargothrond.

Hear me out! I am NOT condoning the majority of C&C’s actions, they’re generally pretty despicable. But I honestly can’t pin all the blame on them for their initial reaction to Beren showing up. Thingol was SO audacious in asking Beren for a Silmaril. These are cultural heirlooms of the Noldor, and very specifically the property of Fëanor’s sons – what right did he have to demand one? I have a bunch of headcanons about how Noldor-Iathrim relationships might have worsened in the wake of the Dagor Bragollach, which I won’t go into here because they’re mostly speculation, but at any rate Thingol knew what he was doing when he asked for a Silmaril, and it was a complete slap in the face to the Fëanorians.

So Beren shows up asking Finrod for help in stealing one of their father’s jewels so he can give it to Thingol of all people. Of course C&C were furious! How else should they have reacted to that insult? If you take the Oath as magical in nature, at least to some extent, and accept that it had been “sleeping” during the Long Peace, then Thingol’s actions have also woken it again, which can’t be pleasant. And then, the absolute icing on the cake: Finrod agrees to help Beren steal their property. I don’t fault them for being angry with Finrod. He was their cousin, and nominally on their side, after all! He even specifically acknowledges that the Silmarils are rightfully theirs, AND that they had shown him “friendship in every need” – in some drafts, they even came to Orodreth’s rescue during the fall of Tol Sirion. In Leithian it’s easy to feel for Finrod, watching as his people are turned against him; but I think it’s worth acknowledging that C&C must have felt equally betrayed by him, and also that he was planning to lead his people on a suicide mission. (There’s no way that Nargothrond actually had the strength to storm Angband, the Union of Maedhros didn’t manage it!) Those aren’t the actions of a responsible king (which is why imo it’s a good thing that he abdicated/threw his crown on the floor).

Of course, pretty much everything C&C do after the Twelve leave Nargothrond is indefensible. But the blame for the original incident does not, I think, lie entirely with them. (It’s Thingol it lies with Thingol.)

100% scrunchies. i have really thick-wavy hair and usually break hair-ties. if they are sturdy enough and can survive, it pulls on my hair and gives me a headache. so yeah, i prefer scrunchies lol.

9. which do prefer, hot coffee or cold coffee?

90% of the time i prefer cold coffee, even if it is snowing and freezing out. every now and then, when i'm feeling spicy, ill get a hot coffee. but yeah, i prefer cold coffee.

19. imagine we're at a sleepover, would you paint my nails?

oh darling i would try <3. my medication makes my hands SUPER shaky so i would make a mess, but by god darn it i would try! whatever color and/or sparkles you wish ❤️

Okay, so I’m in a bit of a Narnia phase, and I have to ask, do you have an oc for Narnia? If so, tell me all about them!

Actually, funny you should ask, I have THREE of them! And, here’s the kicker, they’re siblings!

First, we have Allison (the eldest):

From a pretty young age, Allison had to be everything for her siblings: mother, protector, punisher. Because of that, she had to grow up really fast. When they get sent to Narnia, the siblings either learn that they’re actually elemental witches (good ones of course), or they become elemental witches. Allison is a water witch: not only can she control it like it’s a part of her, she can merge the water with her body cells to turn into a gigantic water version of herself.

Small details: Allison became a doctor during COVID time (I got heavily inspired by epiphany by Taylor Swift), she likes to bake, she was able to get out of an abusive relationship in her late twenties, and she’s a Peter ship.

Next, we have Isaac (the middle child)

Isaac has always been the steady rock of the siblings: calm, strong, and a good sense of perspective. In Narnia, Isaac is an Earth witch. The ground will quake with a single twitch of his finger, and flowers grow wherever he walks.

Details: Isaac prefers tea over coffee, he wants to become an English professor or a flower shop owner when he’s older, he’s actually pretty good with a sword, and he’s an Edmund ship.

Finally, we have Skye (the baby)

Skye is like a moody rain cloud: she gets irritated around people she doesn’t like. The only people she likes are her family, her cheer squad, and one Lucy Pevensie (who made her short circuit the first time they met). Not only is Skye a fire witch, she is also mother to a dragon she named Hephaestus (seriously, it is RIDICULOUS that Narnia doesn’t have dragons).

Facts: Besides being a cheerleader, Skye’s an artist: she’s an amazing painter. Also, gay af for Lucy

music or literature!! I love how melancholy some songs can be and how people just string notes together and it can rip your heart out OR a beautifully written book that is so heartbreaking that you think about it for days. Those make me feel deeper than anything because I can relate to them the most :)

Great question! 🥰 Unfortunately I dont have a picture of the one my mom has at home, but here are some similar photos I found online:

Basically they’re clay pots with the Chanchito face and the top is usually open, hers has a lid like the second image! It could probably hold at least ten pounds of rice, it’s pretty big ☺️

Tired. I slept only few hours. Morning shifts killing me 😭

70. Is there anyone you would die for?

My mom. She deserves all the best.

But sometimes I have those thoughts...like some people are suicidal, want to end it all and just rest, while others have deadly diseases and desperately will do anything to live...sometimes I have feel like I would easily exchange my life with someone else's. Those thoughts come and go. But it's weird feeling when you think all your problems will end if you end your life.

This is coming off the back of a LOT of Klinger thoughts this week so an especially big thank you for asking me about him

• One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

It can be summed up with this: keep him in the damn dresses.

• my OTP:

Klinger/Soon-Lee is pretty much as perfect as a last minute pairing could be tbh.

• my cross over ship:

My imagination is failing hard with these ones, Jesus. Someone else who fucks with gender presentation.

• a headcanon fact:

He becomes a tailor. What the fuck is an AfterMASH? Oh I also think he is one of the few of the main cast who doesn't have a thing for Hawkeye.

• How I feel about this character:

It's about his unrelenting and uncomplicated kindness. It's about his defiance in the face of the army that manages to stay mostly devoid of anger. Its about the way he plays with gender in ways the text intended and didn't intend. It's his steadiness that is important to the characters within the story, and to the audience

• All the people I ship romantically with this character:

If it isn't Soon-Lee, I think honestly him and Kellye would have been absolutely incredible as a pairing. Unlike the rest of the characters, however, who I could generally buy having at least partly romantic or sexual relationships with any of the others, I think that's the extent of Klinger's pairing options I'm interested in. I think Henry was FASCINATED with him bit I don't think Klinger would have gone there.

• My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Him and Mulcahy and him and Charles make very funny double acts.

• My unpopular opinion about this character:

I've really dug deep for this one and I got NOTHING. Maybe not seeing the romantic sides to him with the other characters, I know him and Mulcahy are a big(?) ship. I don't get him with Charles either, romantically or sexually.

Traphawk edition

• when I started shipping it if I did:

The first episode I REMEMBER really really shipping them was Yankee Doodle Doctor. Who could resist that dancing scene?

• my thoughts:

I'm mostly into Traphawk as a melancholic 'missed connections' type affair. I love the angst, and the juxtaposition of the nature of Trapper's departure vs the generally easygoing and very happy relationship we saw on screen. I also love their relationship for what it adds to Hawkeye's overarching narrative.

• What makes me happy about them:

The way they make each other laugh, their physical comedy, Trapper's dogged loyalty and support in most things, how goddamned pretty and cute and sexy they are.

• What makes me sad about them:

Trapper's relative lack of character outside of their dynamic, the fact we never got to see how he would have handled a more troubled Hawkeye.

• things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Any hand-waving of the nature of Trapper's departure. That's like, the sole conflict between them, and I don't like it being excused so easy in a fic where they are meant to be endgame. A common way of doing this seems to be to make out that Trapper thought Hawkeye is dead, but then that's just ACCEPTED and they don't examine why Trapper didn't... demand answers beyond that, which seems very out of character. He didn't write the 4077th at all to find out what happened? He didn't send condolences to Daniel?

• things I look for in fanfic:

Something I like in Traphawk fics is EITHER fun sexy times set in Korea, or big reunions post-war where Trapper makes amends and generally looks after a Hawkeye who is a very different and much more delicate creature than the man he left behind.

• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

For Hawkeye I think it's obvious I'm gonna say Beej... for Trapper? Idk man, I think Louise and him should get divorced and him just live very happily as a single man.

• My happily ever after for them:

Honestly, that they reconnect and stay in each others lives. They meet up regularly, and send each other life updates and the occasional stupid present that made them think of the other, or pranks by mail. I struggle to believe a til-death-do-them-part style romance, but a long lasting one? Sure. And staying in each others lives as an important part of their stories? Definitely.

• who is the big spoon/little spoon:

I have really thought about this, and have come to the conclusion that I think Hawkeye trained Trapper into accepting being the little spoon sometimes by making him do it as a bit first. 

• what is their favorite non-sexual activity:

Making each other laugh, and dancing. Providing each other with small acts of love, like good food, that record they know the other has had their eye on, a scarf they make the other wear when it's cold.

32: Talk about a place you remember from your childhood.

There is a camping ground like 4-5 hours away from where I live now that my dad and I would frequent to hang out with family. We had amazing times there.. also almost drowned there once! Weehoo!

Without outright saying I love you for the first time to my now husband, I played this song on the way home from a road trip we took to see (and for him go meet) my paternal grandma shortly before she passed.

That’s actually a pretty hard question for me 😂

I‘m mostly listening to Lo-Fi-stuff at the moment and the player is set to random.

Though I do have a „good mood“-playlist that I sometimes listen to instead, so I’ll just take the five songs I like most from that playlist 😂

- Rumors by Jake Miller (found that one due to a Stony AMV and it’s kinda the theme song for a writing RPG with one of my best friends)

- Stitches by Shawn Mendes (great to sing along to, Dunno how I found that one actually)

- Walk through Life by Pinkzebra feat. Benji Jackson (an absolute banger and WILL lift your mood! XD I always start to dance around (and sing) when I hear it)

Oooh this is a hard one. This feels like the kind of question where I should have the answer ready. Like, this should be easy, you know. But it's really not. I love flowers so much. As you can probably tell from my blog lol. There are just so many different and lovely flowers and my favorites keep changing. I think the last time someone asked me this, my answer was Dandelion and I do love Dandelions. There's something about yellow flowers in general that I'm drawn to. Another flower that has a very special place in my heart is Lily of the valley. I've loved them since I was little and as a kid I dreamed of having them in my wedding bouquet. (Spoiler alert, I didn't end up having them and I still don't know what I was thinking with those Calla Lilies. Today I find those to be more of a funeral flower.) But I do love Lilies otherwise! Some time back I saw pictures of Biyo-yanagi and absolutely fell in love. Orchids can look absolutely gorgeous, but they've become so popular nowadays that I'm kinda tired of seeing them lol. Oh but I'm rambling way too much now. I guess the real answer would be I don't really have one. But if I had to choose I would still have to go with Dandelion. They're beautiful and strong and stubborn lol. They can grow from any tiny crack in the asfalt. And you can eat them! Well, the leafs, iirc the stems don't taste good. Ok but that's enough from me. Have a pic of a Dandelion that i took last week when they were still blooming.
