drawing katniss going to gather flowers for rue. beautiful and heartbreaking shot. 4ish hours in photoshop though i forgot to record a part when i was fiddling with her clothes. i would like to do more things with flowers. also a bit of an exercise in trying to be less focused on realism and not make it so overworked
song: there are worse games to play / deep in the meadow by the city of prague philharmonic orchestra
Such a beautiful composition and moving performance. A very powerful piece.
Though not quite so cinematic, the instrumentation and melodies remind of these pieces (best listened to in order), which are unsurprisingly performed by the same orchestra.
From Shakespeare to J.K Rowling and The Bible to J.R.R. Tolkien, great books have often been the inspiration behind some of the greatest music. This programme looks a just a few of these great books and the music that they inspired

Sergei Prokofiev…
As soon as I heard the piano at the start of S06E10 I knew that it was going to be a different sort of episode – even by Game of Thrones standards.
The music, called "Light of the Seven", became an instant classic.
Not sure if Ramin Djawadi intended this to become a concert piece when he composed it. But it's been performed in various arrangements starting not long after the Season 6 finale.
This performance is by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (Filharmonici Města Prahy).
anyway the reason i opened the app today was i needed to YELL about a realization i just had. so the city of prague philharmonic orchestra has been one of my top artists for like two years at the point because they have the best version of the twilight score on spotify (which is unironically one of my favorite movie scores). and i realized i’m actually GOING to prague this summer for musician related reasons. how insane would it be if i, like, met someone who was part of that recording? that i listened to so often that it skyrocketed to the top of my personal silly little spotify charts? OR IF I GET TO SEE THEM DO A CONCERT OH MY GOD

i'll probably always chase the feeling of being 13-14 years old, so obsessed with downton abbey and so passionate about that theme song that somehow my uptight ballet teacher (literally named trina, trina the BALLERINA) choreographed a whole dance for it for our end of the year show. i've always been so embarrassing..... but that time, it paid off.
