the real star of Jhoome Jo Pathaan is the silver earcuff and dangle earring that they have given SRK along with his various necklaces, rings, arm taweez and glorious hair, taking no further statements at this time
#film: pathaan#pathaan#bollywood#srk#shah rukh khan#local gay watches Bollywood.txt#nevermind the fact that i am so f*cking early it's not even available on Spotify yet but#he's back in his piercing era and i am living#i think this is one of his chillest choreographies tho and i'm not too sure what to think about that?#like you can tell from the MV that the focus is very much him and Deepika-heavy and not so much dance-heavy#again a bisexual dream with the outfits and camera angles but the rest is just a bit underwhelming idk#still received the iconic T pose + there's a particular step in the chorus that has my hoe brain glitching so ig that makes up for it#along with the hundred other little classic SRK mannerisms that make us all weak in the knees#and Arijit sounds amazing as always even if the tune hasn't grown on me just yet#let me loop it a few more times to see if it's doing half as much as Besharam Rang did for me#edit: the Tamil version slaps harder than the Hindi and i think that might be what convinces me to put it on the playlist#extra edit: i can't believe i'm saying this but since it's out on Spotify now both versions slap harder without the MV#and there's a part in the instrumental that i did not notice until i listened to it over there that also has my hoe brain glitching#it's starting to redeem itself although it's no Jai Jai Shivshankar#more like a weirdly specific cross between Husn Parcham and Enu Naam Che Raees imo#with a little bit of Tattad Tattad lyrically#extra extra edit: i have given my heart twice over to this and if you got the lyrics reference have a cookie#and eat it off of the washboard that are SRK's abs#his smile did me in OK i am now actually fond of this

if you dont mind sharing, what are some of your favorite ska songs/bands?
I will admit I am not a huge band person I tend to be more of a "pick whatever random songs sound good" person, so I can't recommend any good bands. I also listen to Ska Punk, which is a subgenre of Ska... and Punk. So I am not a good authority on Ska songs to listen to I am just someone who is banned from being passed the aux cord...
But some of my favorite songs include:
No Children - Ska (cover)
Quinto Patio Ska
Everything Went Numb
S F D D
And songs by Reel Big Fish tbh. I know I just said I don't listen to specific bands but Reel Big Fish has some pretty good songs like...
Sell Out
And their Take on Me cover
Here's my disclaimer, though: I am not into music subcultures I just listen to whatever sounds good (and jazzy punk with horns sounds good), so I could be giving absolutely awful music recommendations that anyone who is especially into Ska (and more specifically Ska Punk) might find egregious. I personally just grab whatever song sounds good and add them to my forever long playlist.
Also the Jabberjaw (Running Underwater) song from Pain used for the Cartoon Network Boomerang Groovies is probably the reason I enjoy Ska punk so much, and it has been in my playlist for years now:
If nothing else in this list interests you, I require everyone by law to listen to Jabberjaw Running Under Water by pain and watch the Cartoon Network Boomerang Groovie video of it. I used to watch Boomerang a million times, and this was probably the only Groovie I really enjoyed watching and didn't go to the bathroom during.

i can picture it perfectly, crowley has just seen aziraphale for the first time after their kiss/breakup and aziraphale is seemingly lost to heaven’s will. they talk past each other, get angry, and part again. crowley drives away and his anger dissolves into defeat. and then the bentley starts to play (what else) Queen - Love Of My Life.
(bonus points if the instrumental intro bit plays over scenes of aziraphale trying to look unphased)

But what I really mean is

I chose to travel as a lonely man
So much that I lacked, so much that I lacked

Have you listened to Ay-Yo or the other new singles part of NCT 127’s repackaged album? I always enjoy diving into your perspective on groups artistic vision! I never really gave them much time but was sucked into their recent music (I think it’s because of Dem Jointz and Kenzie who helped produce some of the album??). The AY MV wasn’t as flashy as 2 Baddies but I do love a cunt moment and Taeyong delivered for me. I am now so curious about NCT!! You’ve mentioned before that they’re one of the backbones of 4th gen. What do you think it is about the group that has established them beyond others? I appreciate that the songs are experimental and unafraid. The music videos always feel like being sucked into an intense video game and I am here for it lol. Thanks for running such a thoughtful blog btw! Most times I feel like I’m in a little island with too many thoughts but it’s always a fun time checking out your posts.
yes! i love ay yo and the new songs on the repack! skyscraper is my fave of the three but i also really dig dj. dem jointz has actually produced quite a few of 127's title tracks, including cherry bomb, punch, kick it, sticker, and some bsides like right now, time lapse, designer, and nct dream's arcade! kenzie has also done a few 127 tracks including limitless, favourite, and several of my all time fave nct songs ok! and music dance.
sm obvs has big three privilege and for a reason, they have a really long history as one of the founding pillars of the industry since they pretty much invented it. bc of the company's status and their consistency with training their idols + the legacy of the popularity of their groups + the quality of their music, any new group that sm debuts automatically garners a lot of attention, both from the gp and from others in the industry. because of that, they tend to be imitated just by nature of having that much publicity, but nct made a splash with weird choreo and ''noise'' music. the seventh sense was a very unusual debut and no one's managed to level up to it since, even if nct wasn't exactly doing anything that new for the era they debuted in. they're spiritually continuing f(x)'s musical legacy, and the weird choreo + acrobatics of late third gen you can see in other groups that debuted in 2016, like knk and sf9. it's just that they had the higher visibility and outlasted a lot of other groups, so the combination of all those factors is what solidified them as being a significant influence on the subsequent generations.

Tbh my favourite thing about rewatching lazy in space is that on the first viewing, everything seems like disconnected nonsense that just happens for the sake of whimsy. But when you give each episode a second viewing you realise that each of them has a loose core theme that ties all the nonsense together and relates to the show's whole ethos about the difficulties of growing into an adult and the responsibilities that come with it. Yeah a lot of stuff is still random nonsense that goes unexplained but that's just par for the course with bapc. Lazy in space is actually a lot tighter in the writing department than I first thought, and that I think a lot of ppl seeing it for the first time thought!

............ ultimate somng
#i'll go a few months without hearing this and then for some reason I do again and I go insane#especially the very opening first section ....hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#I like the orchestral version too but the piano one just has a different vibe in some ways#again I'm not really a big music person (in terms of listening to/being a fan of stuff. I like to make music and experiment with instruments#but like I've never been in a band fandom or or been to concert or cared about anything in a pop culture type way) I just have like#a list of some hyper specific songs with specific tones that I listen to like 400x in a row until I get tired of them and then#choose to listen to somehting else 400x in a row until I enetually circle back to one of the ones I already listened to 400x in a row#I rarely ever put music on in the backgroudn while doing things or treat it as an activity it's more of like.. a fixation or something#I go through 'music phases' where I just feel like listening to music as an ativity for a little while and then dont again for a few months#and when I do it's like the same songs 400x in a row again but gyhbhj#or sometimes cycles through a few songs or something but all on repeat#NONE of which are ever like related to each other in any way but are jus what my brain wants to hear 4998898 times for some reason#my most recent music phase rotation was - 'moses fantasy' by paganini. 'luxury' azaleia banks. the fucking charles darwin natural selection#song from horrible histories. rock the casbah??? (idk why for a few days i just wanted to hear it ghhj). the succession opening theme.#'Ludacrismas' even though it's the middle of summer. and 'I just wanna dance with you' - starpoint..lol.. ALSO for a period of#like 2 days I was mentally preoccupied with that meme edited version of that genghis khan song that instead makes it say 'mingus kingus#' or 'i get a little bit dingus bingus' or whatever hbjhbhj.. If you don't know some of those go look them up. then put them all#in a youtube playlist and put it on repeat 6000x. this will give you a tiny snapshot into one aspect of my current mental landscape.#Really want to do a kazoo cover of Moses Fantasy. literally imagine how annoying that would sound on a loud abrasive kazoo#and ALSO how probably annoying parts of it would be to try to do ghhbjb.. the super high pitched violin but desperately squeaked#through the raspy cadence of a dollar store kazoo.... this is my design#okay im listening to it again HGHBHJ the fast parts.... just *frantic squabbling into a kazoo that's not even accurate*#ANYWAY.. I don't talk about music often because like most things I am also not capable of consuming music in a Normal Way and am defintely#not a cool trendsetter or someone with GoodOpinions to share. one of my favorite songs is something I heard in a commercial when I was#7 years old and nothing has ever topped it so.. ghbjhb.. .I am dictated not by popular media or trends but by an obscure series of algorithm#s performed by tiny squirrels that live in my brain who randomly pick and choose songs to suddenly resurfance into my conscious#'Remember that thing you heard a snippet of in school music class when you were 6? find it NOW on youtube. listen 500 times. now'#'then also literally don't listen to music again for 3 entire months until the next 4 day period where you listen to one thing on repeat'#ANYWAY ANYWAY.. obsessed with this ravel song again. also still in the grips of the charles darwin one unfortunately ghbhjbhj#brain is just a mix of *dreamlike ethereal piano* NA TU RAAAL SE LEC TIOOONNN *twinkling piano again* hGGMM... yeaaAA

in the power of Noticing Things The Xth Time Around the instrumentals-imitative "doot. doot. doot. dooWAH" vocals that kick in during the second verse of centerfold? superlative
#i've heard the song a fair number of times & always enjoyed it a lot. high energy & fun; a little goofy in great ways in subj & sonic style#it is extremely correct to work w/imitative vocalizations in your music no matter what. put in more. More#(and the Vocal [doot] being on the backbeat as opposed to the Instrumental [doot]....superlative!]#and did i Mention that [verse into chorus] synth line...the drumming underneath it...#even the faux Live Performance psychout ending. a song about a Specific Ass Situation thank fucking god. deserved to chart like that.#also anytime i say Dad Rock i use it fairly neutrally lol. i'm a fan plenty of songs that would qualify; to be more specific#lmao love the instances of [no matter how many ties i hear it i cannot distinguish this sequence into phonemes in a way that corresponds to#words (or words that fit into the context in any comprehensible way)] i.e. went ''okay time to look up lyrics b/c i will always be going:#flowers What about her dress??'' & the line is apparently ''while i was thinking about her dress'' lol love when the revelations of#mishearing are funny like Ah right....and claims it's ''slipped me notes'' rather than ''slipping notes'' but doesn't change too much#being like [i cannot decipher these lyrics] is generally a more fun casual version of ''especial tendency to struggle w/audio processing''#versus like not knowing what tf someone's said in this part in a movie or smthing no matter how many times you hear it#or of course the most A Problem: not being able to parse what's being Spoken in some in-person situation#might be an occasion you can't get anything repeated; might be an occasion where for some reason/s a repeat doesn't even help....#also forever the Idiosyncratic Origin Stories behind [genuine friendships formed when you are autistic] e.g. like yeah one of my good#elementary school friendships? was one where we did parallel play; maybe never or very rarely actually Spoke; our Distracting Each Other#was punished with more of a singular intensity than i ever saw Anyone's ''distracting each other'' interactions....#took years of being at the same job (part time; so not like monday thru friday 9 to 5 Always being there at the same time anyways)#for me & a coworker to start talking & become work friends; then regular friends#their name was angel; so the menace i became when we had such a dad rock station on & these alignments occurred#though i would be engaging in singing along to things in general lol so

if you can think of one (or multiple) songs that describe you, what would it be?
i like this question :-] i have a number of songs that i feel very strongly about i.e. particle resonance with my soul. ill elaborate more in the tags
strobe light & i care because by siinamota
sono inochi by kaho nakamura
nurse them make a fire feed yourself express your mirth & oyosute aina by masakatsu takagi
a guitar i cant play in one hand by nekobolo
#anything by siinamota is a fairly obvious choice. strobe lights here specifically because it was predictably the first siina song ive#listened to. that and also iwas fairly obsessed with it and the mv as a kid. i have a loooot of doodles of space cat in the margins of all#my notes from middle school :'') i care because on the other hand is just a very precious song to me#its exceedingly fragile and hopeful. theres so much hope in that song. i think wanting to exist solely so you can convey something to#someone. somewhere. in of itself is already an exceedingly fragile and beautiful kind of hope#sono inochi is a song that completely transcends language for me it is Literally the definition of pure unadulterated joy#communal joy. i deeply recommend listening to any live versions of it that you can find. its such a warm and kind song#anything and everything that takagi makes comprises the complete essence of everything that i hope to embody#there is such a deeply profound love of life and humanity itself to be found in all of his work#nurse them & make a fire is one of my favorite tracks from him. i especially love the part where the instrumentals calm down#and you just hear sounds of people... existing.. laughing.. etc. its very beautiful#oyosute aina is one of my other favorite tracks of his. i feel so deeply that its the incarnation of everything i want to convey#and lastlyyyy nekobolo. :)#hikenai guitar is a very hauntingly beautiful song to me. i think songs about songs are always very hauntingly beautiful#theyre lonely by definition but only because the song itself wants nothing else than to be conveyed to someone else#songs exist to be listened to etc etc#anyways. wonderful ask thank you so much for sending this
