Another difference between Wuthering Heights and A True Novel is that Wuthering Heights is gloriously devoid of surprises. Nelly spells out the entire plot in Chapter 4. There are ambiguous points in the book and things to discover about it but they are more like multiple choice questions whose answers are left to the reader than like plot twists that change everything.
A True Novel is different. It very much has a central plot twist that changes everything, a sort of Roger Ackroyd or Rashomon but the reveal is related to “romance” rather than to “crime”.
I like both approaches, but they are decidedly different.

If you like taking polls, I also have 11 polls or so about Gaiman's characters, a few polls on Austen's stuff and more on Shakespeare, gothic works and comics (again, see my 'polls' tag).
Maybe I'll do other polls with other Christies too, mention your favorites if they're not here.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is of course one of Agatha Christie's best novels, even as it is self-consciously an 'orthodox detective' novel. I have to say though that I think the Mah Jong chapter is the best chapter she ever wrote. It's a joy to read an author flexing their craft and having so much fun with it.
Dr James Sheppard is in many ways a poor man's Hastings (ie because he is capable of some rational thought) but his livelier narration really shines in Mah Jong. Though perhaps it is Caroline who is truly Poirot's collaborator... She's a brilliant character.

started reading a few agatha christie novels because I’d never read any of them and have actually never been spoiled despite some of them being over a hundred years old
so far, my strategy of guessing the most absurd option has been two for two with the Mysterious Affair at Styles and with Murder on the Links, so I’m gonna stick with that method with Murder of Roger Ackroyd
…and the fact that I like Dr Sheppard so much more than Hastings coupled with the “twist that changed the genre” in the blurb probably means he did it lol

What book do you wish you could read for the first time again
Tough, since I do think the best books are the ones you can read again and again and still find something new. However, there is nothing quite like being taken totally surprised by a book and the world.
Okay, two come to mind for different reasons.
For a book I wish I could read for the first time again solely to be surprised by the ending: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. If you know, you know.
For a book I wish I could read for the first time again so I could re-explore its world and sink into its story telling; American Gods by Neil Gaiman
