Something my husband and I enjoy is just scrolling through the absolutely batshit horror movies (especially from the 60s) on Amazon Prime and reading the titles in an old timey radio announcer voice, because it's hilarious once you say shit like THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DOCTOR SADISM or SATAN'S TRIANGLE but I've found a new favorite and it's not even old:
The runner up for the night was Frightvision, not for the title but for the summary revealing that it's an anthology hosted by Dr. Boobenstein

BLOGTOBER 10/25/2023: THE BLOOD DEMON aka THE CRIMSON DEMON aka THE SNAKE PIT AND THE PENDULUM aka CASTLE OF THE WALKING DEAD aka THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM
I definitely watched this vaguely Poe-derived movie, but I don't know if I can tell you almost anything about it. It's only 81 minutes long, but the credits play over an astoundingly protracted scene of characters moseying down a seemingly endless hallway, and that's when I said to myself, "Uh oh." And indeed, a gigantic amount of this film is just traveling: characters walk, ride horses, or take carriages across the endless empty gulfs between scenes of stuff actually happening. Whatever Lex Baxter's charms might be, they're not on display here, and Christopher Lee isn't around enough to cover for him. And speaking of Christopher Lee, I just never got over the fact that the name "Count Regula" is not supposed to be funny. The movie is visually stimulating on occasion--I mean who doesn't love a good corpse forest? But then you're let down when the carriage driver just vaguely saying the woods are spooky and not AMAZINGLY FULL OF DANGLING BODY PARTS. This is one of the few movies that I'm actually glad I selected for what turned out to be this speed run of Blogtober, because I can't imagine coming up with a feature-length review of it! The nicest thing I have to say is, THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM is a really great title.

i dearly hope dracula daily will lead more people to share my interest in terrible franken-drac 60s hammer-adjacent horror movies. mel brooks' young frankenstein despite being a parody is a good overview of the genre (it's a frankenstein story set in transylvania!!! what more could you want!!). other recommendations include
the creeping flesh
the torture chamber of dr sadism
blacula
the crypt of the vampire
dracula a.d. 1972
the blood beast terror
transylvania 6-5000
dr blood's coffin
the house that dripped blood
i swear to god these are all real movies
yes blacula is exactly what you think it is
and there's a sequel

There’s no possible way the movie can live up to his title (and I probably wouldn’t watch it if it did) but a streaming service just recommended me something called The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism.
