I wasn't shitting you guys btw I actually made the one-sided radiostatic playlists

here is my lyrical masterpiece. both the vox version and the alastor one. done my best to make it as lyrically accurate as possible. @styrofauxm @onesidedradiostatic i hope you enjoy this (go check out the full lyrics for the songs on google if you can't listen to it but i recommend it because all of these are bangers) feat. my stupid commentary and vox's pathetic wet cat energy

1. the hearse — matt maeson

thought this one fit so well lyrically. the "what was it like to feel in love" part i interpreted as vox asking himself that rather than alastor

less about alastor, more about vox's existential crisis

i mean isn't this literally his theme song?

i picked the version from zoey's extraordinary playlist on purpose because the context of this scene is that the dude who sings it hires a bunch of singers and dancers to confess in a public space as you, the viewer, sit there and cringe at him as he gets rejected. if that doesn't have vox energy, i don't know what does.

❞ i'm good at keepin' my distance (lie), i know that you're the feelin' I'm missing. you know that I hate to admit it but everything means nothin' if I can't have you. i can't write one song that's not about you, can't drink without thinkin' about you. is it too late to tell you that everything means nothing if I can't have you? ❝

when vox asks himself whether alastor wants him or wants him dead it's definitely the second option.

i can't just put one musical number from the barbie movie in and not include the other one that fits equally as well.

this one's such a bop honestly. had to cut it in the video because i can't picture alastor realistically crying over anything vox-related.

You had all decided to meet at the gas station since the trip to the party was, unfortunately, an hour-long ride so you stocked up on snacks and game to have at least a somewhat fun time.

And Kyle being the saint and amazing boyfriend he is, said he would drive you. Which meant he also had to drive the guys. Bless his soul.

Cartman groaned, stretching out with a grin as he walked over to the passenger seat. "Finally you fucking got here. I thought that you up and died... not that I would mind."

"Get in the trunk fat ass, you're not sitting in the front and you're definitely not sitting in the back." Kyle shooed him pointing to the trunk that was opening.

Stan nodded hopping into the passenger seat. "Yeah Cartman, learn your place."

Kyle shook his head, shoving Stan out of the seat as the poor guy fell onto the concrete. "Yeah, learn your place."

"WHAT THE FUCK DUDE?"

You giggled pushing Kenny out of the way. "Ooooh, sucks to suck."

"WHY DO THEY GET TO SIT THERE AND NOT ME?"

"There are a lot of reasons actually." Kyle mocked with a smirk as you hopped into the seat already setting up your area.

"I always sit in the front though!" Kenny retorted trying to pull you out of your seat as you tried kicking him away.

"Uh, we'll let's see." Kyle started raising his hand to count off the reasons, "They're my partner, they have better music taste, they're my partner, they don't smell like drugs or alcohol, they're my partner, and because I don't like you guys. How about that?"

"You are so fucking whipped it's disgusting. You disgust me, Kyle." Stan muttered hopping into the back seat with Kenny.

"No literally, see if that was me. I'd like my best friends take shotgun."

"Well darn, whatever will I do now that I am in love with my partner?" He questioned as Stan kicked his seat roughly.

"Just fucking drive."

"You comfortable back there Cartman?" Kenny questioned as you all turned around to see Cartman laying there comfortably already on his phone.

"He's such a fucking child." You murmured turning back around and sorting through your playlists to find some pre-party bangers.

hello! god this is like asking me to choose a favorite child except i think that would be easier. if i was a parent. it's hard to chose only a few faves but it will TRY to keep this limited... (note from future river: i failed)

fuck this is actually so difficult... ok i have to get closer out of the way

obviously..... predictable choice but it's a hit for a reason ok!! it was my top song on spotify last year and i literally only started listening to nin in october. so good... i saw u respond to my post about track transitions and the transition from closer into ruiner makes me go crazyyyyyyy. i love ruiner as well but again. trying to keep it limited..

ok nearly every song on tds is a favorite so i'm just going to highlight a few more and then i'll give other releases a chance 😭

reptileee.. UGHHH. yeah this one just does something to me. the machinery sounds. yum. that guitar bit that lines up with that one machine sample that's playing throughout (3:43 if u don't know wtf i'm talking abt)... and i like the muffled yelling in the outro

there are songs on tds i guess i technically like listening to more but there's something about this one that makes it special to me. it's comforting somehow! the intro is meditative, and the meat of the song is cathartic. i like how we get the same muffled effect as on reptile, but here even the instrumentals are muffled

BURN!! one of my first favs. so good and aggressive. grraaahhhh

ok gonna try to limit myself to one song per release from here on out bc i really do love so many.....

so fun and funky. the nursery rhyme lyrics are a little silly but i love it. also love the part where he just screams

so many good things abt this one... the first things that made my ears perk up were the synths on the chorus

after the redskins game, spence was really frustrated because even with all the tips from hotch and morgan, he fumbled, BADLY, jj had no clue it was a date, she thought it was a friendly outing and that he was just being his awkward little self. he was so embarrassed he didn't want to talk to any of the guys of the team, so he called elle. she teased him a bit, but ultimately said, "spence, here, this is how you ask someone out: do you want to go out with me tomorrow night, spencer?"

it took him a minute and a lot of rambling to understand she was serious, it was lucky for him they were speaking on the phone so she wouldn't see how red his cheeks were. but it didn't make much of a difference, as those same cheeks got even redder as elle greenway took spencer on his first official date.

Alright it's currently 2:40 in the night, finally managed to go through the playlist fully and first; fuck dude amazing music, some of them I already knew but most were new too me. Thank you for introducing me to such amazing music I love them.

Second I do have some (a lie, it's a lot) music that I want to know more why their there/ want more information of, for whatever reason;

run rabbit run, call me little sunshine, bad bad things, MACARON, cemetary girl, bridezilla, saccharine, against pollution, west country dream, choke, cop car, haunt the cartoon heart, am I being followed...?,

Grendel's mother, the fox wedding (when I heard this one my jaw DROPPED, it took me so off guard, but still a banger), guillotine

TURNING INTO THE TBH CREATURE READING THIS ASK YES I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ELABORATE ON THESE SONGS. ELATED EVEN. im glad you enjoyed what was on the playlist though! im well aware my music taste is eclectic and also everywhere at once. i never left my vocaloid phase ever, its simply aged with me. the amount of tmg songs on the playlist is because one of my qpps is REALLY into their music and gave me some recs. some music they recced me isnt on spotify alas.

this is gonna be a long one with A LOT of rambling so im gonna put it under cut.

4æm - this one is one of the songs that are a mix of just vibes and “i have the craziest amv in my head” for it. it makes me think of meeting someone walking down the sidewalk in the dead of night and it changing you irreparably. epic kaon behavior.

rain of blood - another one where its vibes, but specifically post chapter 20. i dont want to spoil what happens but a BIG thing happens for the mcs character development and their view on murder. more like post chapter 25 because i have a few filler chapters planned.

DEATHBODY - this ones a song that makes me think of the mc, specifically surrounding their obsession with dying and being killed that gets kind of worse after an incident sometimes after chapter 25. i have it planned out but not written LOL oops. some lyrics i especially like are “icicles of a medial at unease, please just pull me together and repair me. old thoughts floating above a new horizon. something i’ll never doubt; i know im rotten.” and “all this time, i felt that my time would arrive. that it can’t last forever; i’ve been decaying. moldy scaffolding, ritual strangling. no matter what i try, i seem to stay alive.”

alpha desperation march - this one is definitely early kaon and was added to the playlist when i was writing the early chapters! specifically the lyrics “im coming in. try and stop me. push furniture in front the door. it only gives me something to push against.” and “see im perfectly aware. of where our love stands. but the plain fact is that you owe me eight grand.” make me think of him. especially push furniture in front of the door one because hes always pushing and pushing, whether it be boundaries or literal doors. theres no stopping him when theres something he wants.

hello, i love you - OKAY THIS ONES FUNNY. while this would usually be considered a kaon song because of the obsessive and sugary sweet lyrics and the general i will literally never leave you alone ever-ness of it, i associate it more with vos for reasons unknown. vos, at specifically, his most down bad. he has enough control over himself to not act like this but he is just as stubborn as kaon and is more likely to lock you in a room with him until you talk to him if he really wants your attention. whereas kaon would probably go sulk somewhere. vos is pushy and very intense.

fruiting bodies - another mc song! more specifically a post chapter 20 mc song. theres a lot of imagery with a seed being planted and its roots filling them from the inside out. which is kind of fungal.

run rabbit run - VOS SONG. just a straight up vos song, it reminds me a lot of him. there are a lot of things that make me think of vos, foxes being one of them. is it a little worrying a fox betraying and hunting a rabbit is a vos song? maybe. dont worry about it too much. if he hunts the mc i can promise theyre both a little too into it LMFAO

call me little sunshine - okay so this is a kaon AND vos song. little sunshine is supposed to be lucifer because lucifer means light bringer. basically you will never be alone because you have the two most down bad murderers obsessed with you who will come to your every beck and call (within reason) amen

bad bad things - OKAY I CAN SEE HOW THIS SONG WOULD BE NERVE WRACKING TO RUN INTO. its not a kaon or vos song dw. thats all i will say. the part specifically that ive latched onto in my brain is the “so i looked into your eyes and i saw the reflection or a coward you and i hate very much. and then i grabbed the knife and let the blood out of your throat and smashed those tiny mirrors inside of your skull.” if that means anything

MACARON - mc song. another cannibalism banger on the playlist. they wanna be eaten so bad it makes them look stupid.

cemetary girl - admittedly theres no deeper meaning here i just like the vibes and its fun to write to!

bridezilla - this ones a mc song and their weird little view on what a wedding with kaon and vos would be like. theyre just as absolutely odd as those two. casey would literally black out if he went to their wedding and they tongue kissed the priest. shelby would record it.

saccharine- another vos song. he doesnt want to get so obsessed with the mc but he absolutely does. the similarities between the mc and vos have been touched upon from kaons early pov chapter, but vos sees them as a weaker version of himself. he doesnt want to hurt them (too badly), which is new for him because most people he meets he cant wait to tear them apart. there are a few exceptions to that rule, and the fact a sweet little human is one of them confounds him.

against pollution - a chapter 20 mc song thats all i will say

west country dream - another early chapters kaon song. it was added to the playlist when i first started writing and my qpp read the first few chapter and said. this song makes me think of them. i agreed and the rest is history! onto the playlist it went

choke - okay so am i allowed to just say “vos is into choking” and leave it at that? LMAOLMAO

haunt, the cartoon heart - a kaon song! just his obsessiveness and the adoration for the mc he has later on in the fic. i can see him singing this to them if im being honest and i do entertain myself by imagining it LOL. the end where “i think you scared her” i imagine as vos criticizing his usual heavy handed approach.

am i being followed…? - honestly theres nothing deep her i just like listening to this one while i write and the general vibes of the song! i just really like the artist too HSJSHS

guillotine - THIS ONES ACTUALLY THE SOMG I LISTENED TO FOR HOURS NONSTOP AS I WROTE CHAPTER 22. so i cant say much other than the title for that chapter will be “the secrets you tell me, i’ll take to my grave. there’s bones in my closet, but you hang stuff anyway.” its a kaon song too.

the fox’s wedding - okay this ones a banger but the lyrics do come at you like a brick to the face. its not as bad as the other songs in the series its in which is saying something. this song is an mc song though. cannibalism? check. horniness? check. falling in love with a vengeful fox spirit? kaon and vos arent that but they are crazy asses so. id say somewhat check. other things i shant say…. check.

LMAO This is what happens when I say my Spotify Wrapped was boring this year xD Gonna put a cut here because there's seven of these (and a lot of repeats from last year)

3) Ah, the Daren&Alistair song. Their dynamic remains one of my favorites: they're such similar people with, like, parallel arcs and consider each other basically brothers ... right up until they don't. I don't talk about it much, but I headcanon Alistair comes back in my canon ... just so that he can die in the Fade. It has a very poetic ring to it ... abandoning the Wardens during the Blight, but returning to save them from the Calling ... symmetry.

7) ANOTHER OC&Alistair song! This time it's Gil. This song was also in my wrapped from last year because this is a strong comfort song for when I'm depressed and I've needed it a lot this year

13) All classics here! One of the primary Daren anthems, and specifically relates to his relationship with his father's memory. The gauntlet is a crucial moment for Daren because it is his first genuine moment of catharsis after his family's death and the biggest weight on his soul was the guilt he felt for failing them (and his father specifically)

17) Hey! This one's a BG3 song ... still Daren tho. It's the perfect song for his relationship with Gale and the spectre that his relationship with Mystra casts over them both. It has it all: yearning, loss, regret, temptation, and a great bridge to belt out that insists that the past doesn't dictate the future

53) I! LOVE! MARION! HAWKE! SO! MUCH!! He's my go to comfort character for when I'm burnt out and furious and I had ... a lot of reason to blast his playlist at the top of my car's radio this year. Red Hawke desperately pretending to be lack-a-daisical Purple Rogue, my beloved

69) It's a shame Marion's song wasn't #69 but here we are. This one was a total surprise, and I think it only made it on the list because of a ... like ... 2 week period when i played it on a loop. It's funny how many break-up songs I've listened to, considering Daisy and I just had our 1 year anniversary and are deliriously happy :3

100) Another redux: this time it's the Siege of Castle Cousland. This was the year that I finally really got back to writing, so it only makes sense that all of Daren's Trauma Songs make up a solid third of this list. It's also just a real banger.

Mayblade day 10: song (reminder that Nickelback was once featured on official Beyblade merch)

Nelvana and Hasbro decided they wanted to make Beyblade be more than just spinning tops with a tie-in anime series. After several attempts, I think they kinda gave up because non of them were successful. Beywheelz, Beyraiderz, and Beywarriors all flopped (despite some cool ideas). Their trading card game back in the og series is so obscure that I can’t get any info on it besides “it existed” and “it seems poorly thought out.” And at one point they got into music. After finding this YouTube playlist with Beyblade songs (openings, endings, the dub insert songs, etc), I noticed that for some reason it included How You Remind Me by Nickelback, California by Phantom Planet, and an AMV. After some research, I found that those songs were released on official Beyblade CD’s back in 2001-2002. So I’m gonna give some thoughts on every single song in that playlist in the context of Beyblade (also to make up for yesterday’s shorter post since I didn’t have much time)

Catch a Cannonball by White Pony: This song is considered lost media and if anyone can find it please DM me or something

Let’s Beyblade by Sick Kid ft Lukas Rossi: The original series English dun opening. It’s very early 2000′s and serves as an opening pretty well. I just wish there was an extended/ full version

Fighting Spirits by System-B: As a standalone opening, it’s pretty good. As far as Beyblade goes, it’s wildly different than any opening we’ve gotten since, which makes it stand out even more

Cheer Song by System-B: Not sure how I feel about the song itself, but if it works for anything, it’s as an ED. Also, it’s so different from Fighting Sprits that I had a hard time believing they were both made by System-B

Beyblade by Giorgio Vanni: The Italian opening for the first season. The combination of rock with what sounds like bells(?) later in the song create a weird but interesting feel to it. Also “Boy-blade” is such a stupid pun that it had to have been made ironically, right. Right?

OFF THE CHAIN by TOSS & TURN: Song is a banger. I have no idea who thought it’d fit Beyblade as an opening. Love how it’s in ALL CAPS. Also I don’t speak a word of Japanese but there’s enough English that I can kinda guess what the song is trying to say

URBAN LOVE by Shiori: Another song in all caps, this time as an ED. While I’m normally not a fan of less energetic songs, this is pretty good

Jet by Fairy Fore: The scream at the beginning of the song makes you think you’re gonna get a much harder song than the first verse. And the it slowly ramps up until by the end, you’re back to the same energy as the beginning. Brilliant

What’s the Answer? by Retro G Style: Like OFF THE CHAIN, there is just enough English for me to get a vague idea of what the song is about. I like it, but wish that they had used the song by Retro G Style in G-Revolution for obvious reasons

Beyblade vforce by Giorgio Vanni: IMO a nice improvement over the first Italian opening, but goddamn “Boy-blade” is still here. Why?

Poroporo by Hana Hana: The ED for the V-Force movie. Every other beat is out of tune but it’s done on purpose so I can’t consider it a flaw. It grew on me over time but the decision to be out of tune on purpose is still weird

Victory by Dynamite SHU: I couldn’t find official information on the artist but someone said Victory was performed by Dynamite SHU so I’m rolling with it for now. Also it may be called Victory or Victoria. It’s unclear. It’s also part of the V-Force movie soundtrack and honestly I think it’d make a better ED than Poroporo, if only because Poroporo isn’t really enjoyable on your first listen (even if it really grown on you later)

Go Ahead by Motoko Kumai: Amazing OP for G-Revolution. Probably my favorite from Bakuten Shoot. It gets you pumped for the episode and it fits the tone of early G-Rev perfectly

Oh Yes!! by Sista with Yuka: As an ED, it’s pretty good. It’s also a great way to conclude the early episodes of G-Rev

Kaze no Fuku Basho by Makiyo: Somehow manages to be an improvement over Oh Yes!! while also fitting the middle portion of G-Rev better

Identified by Springs: Finally we learn that the G in G-Revolution stands for Good. It’s also the perfect OP to end the original series on

Sign of Wish by Makiyo: Like Identified is the perfect OP to end on, Sign of Wish is the perfect ED to conclude the original series. I know that the last episode used Kaze no Fuku Basho for the epilogue, but Sign of Wish was perfect for the BEGA arc, itself a great conclusion to the original story

Never Gonna Take Me Down by Anthony Vanderburgh: I’ve been fighting every night an day. I’m gonna do my best to put you away. It’s perfect for more friendly but intense (like most of the minor battles in tournament arcs). Like most of the dub insert songs, they’re bangers but sadly misused

Round After Round by Jason Dean Bennison: Like Never Gonna Take Me Down, it’s perfect for battles where both bladers want nothing more than to just fight each other

All Across the Nation by The Black Europeans: The fact that this was used for any battle in the season 1 tournaments (you know, the ones with multiple countries) is weird, but the song itself is still good

Let’s Go Beybladers by Krystal Band: The vocals have this strange quality to them, like the musical equivalent of a 2004 homemade video project made by a high school student. Objectively bad but charming in its own way

Swing Low by Jason Dean Bennison: The vocals feel out of place, but damn that bass is epic. Also you can kinda hear samples from Fighting Spirits in the background (that “DORAIGA” scream is hard to miss after a few listens)

Underdog by Mudd: In all honesty it’s a shame Mudd didn’t go one to have more success after Beyblade. Underdog was great

Always Be In the Game by Jason Dean Bennison: Normally I’m not a fan of rap vocals over rock instrumentation but Jason pulled it off. Not sure how or why, but it works

Switchblade by Lenz: Good song but someone messed up when they rereleased it. Also the contrast between the music and the lyrics in the chorus is fairly specific. Maybe it was written to be a character theme?

Hang On by Chris Szczesniak and Mike Dunca: It took 20 years for this song to be released. Amazing bass, amazing vocals, and I can’t think of a song that better fits Kai vs Brooklyn (the time where Kai wins, that is)

Rise Above the Storm by Daniel LeBlanc and Creighton Doane: Oddly uplifting yet very energetic. When I say this is one of the most uplifting songs I’ve ever heard, I am not exaggerating

I’m Not Going Down by Jonathan Evans and Gerard Tevlin: If Hang On fits Kai vs Brooklyn, then I’m Not Going Down fits Tyson vs Brooklyn. It’s just a powerful declaration of victory, being the musical embodiment of that final battle

Start the Circus by Far From Heroes: Good song but I don’t see what it has to do with Beyblade. Still a banger

Cinderella by Adam Crossley with 9 Point Landing: Just like Start the Circus, a banger that is completely unrelated to Beyblade

What the Girls Say by Jennesy: For a show with such a skewed gender ratio for characters, this song feels extremely out of place. It’s good, but manages to feel more “off” than Cinderella

Running Away by Project Wyze: A friend of mine likes to say that early 2000′s music was 80% pop rock and 10% rap metal. Running Away is part of that 10% and it is the perfect example of what rap metal is. If you like rap metal, you’ll like this song. If you don’t like rap metal, you won’t like this song

Let It Rip by Ego Massive: It truly relates to Beyblade and it isn’t an insert song. I’m surprised. The song itself is alright, but pales in comparison to some others

Split the Atom by Edwin and the Pressure: Great song. Unrelated to Beyblade. I’m starting to notice a trend

Pretty Girls by Prozzak: Good song and I have though the glass break sound effect was real and in my house on one occasion

Girls & Boys by Good Charlotte: This song is 50% less out of place than What the Girls Say

Year 3000 by Busted: Possibly a warm take, but the Jonas Brothers’ cover of the song was a downgrade

Buck Rogers by Feeder: I first heard this song playing Gran Turismo and forever associate it with that game. I can’t judge the song on its own because of that

Movies by Alien Ant Farm: Honestly it’s probably the weakest song that released on that CD. It’s not bad per se, but it’s less good than the rest

Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus: Hit early 2000′s song that was shoehorned into Beyblade merch and honestly, it wasn’t a bad idea

Nothing by A: Google “A Nothing” and see if you find this song. Other than that, it’s great. Love it

How You Remind Me by Nickelback: It’s Nickelback. That’s all there is to say. Take that how you will

California by Phantom Planet: If only Beyblade saw the US as more than New York and Las Vegas (and later, Moab, Utah). The west coast isn’t even acknowledged. Had they made one of the characters be from California (like any of the All-Starz), this would’ve been more fitting

Metal Saga by Clifton David: While the English OP for mfb isn’t bad, it feels like a remix of the Japanese OP, but without being different enough to stand out

Metal Fight Beyblade by YU+KI: YU+KI did an amazing job in every season of mfb, and the first opening is no exception

Boys ~To the Radiant Tomorrow~ by MASH: I thought Boys was the artist for far longer than I should. It’s a great ED, and has IMO some of the strongest visuals for a Beyblade ED even though it’s very simple

Beyblade Metal Fusion by unknown artist: I don’t know who made the Italian opening for Fusion but it was pretty good

Galaxy Heart by YU+KI: It takes everything that made Metal Fight Beyblade good an multiplies it tenfold. Absolutely amazing

Oozora wo Koete Yuje by Odoriba Soul: Pretty good ED. It kinda gives me similar vibes as Oh Yes!! but I’m not sure why

Beyblade Metal Masters by unknown artist: An improvement over the Italian Fusion opening, taking it from good to great

Spinning the World by Noa: Love it. Great ED for the Sol Blaze movie. Probably on the same tier as Kaze no Fuku Basho for me

Kokoro no Yuki by YU+KI: the 4d opening slaps even harder than Galaxy Heart

Destiny by YCHRO: Just like Kokoro no Yuki managed to outdo Galaxy Heart, Destiny managed to outdo Oozora wo Koete Yuke. God 4d had great music (if only it wasn’t a shortened season)

Shine On by unknown artist: Absolute banger. That’s all I have to say about it besides that the artist deserves to actually be credited

Let It Rip by The Lodge: I did not expect bars of this level from a song made for a toy commercial. Even though the dub adding rap in anime is usually an unpopular decision, this was good

Game Changer by the Lodge: Another banger

To the Extreme by the Lodge: Why couldn’t the XTS toyline go as hard as this song?

Deploy and Destroy: This song is great and makes Stealth Battlers seem a lot cooler than they were irl

Own the Dome: Somehow a team of people got Hasbro’s worst stadium ever, and made the best commercial out of it. And part of that has to do with this absolute bop of a song

Stunt, Race, Crash by the Lodge: Like To the Extreme, Deploy and Destroy, and Own the Dome, this was a great song that advertised a terrible product

Zero-G Bey! Go! by YU+KI: I’d rank it between Metal Fight Beyblade and Galaxy Heart. It’s good, but not as much as the previous Japanese OPs (granted the bar was pretty damn high)

Looking Up Smiling (We Go!) by YCHRO: It manages to be just barely better than Destiny, which is pretty impressive

Beyblade: Shogun Steel by Sugar High Bunny Punch: Does it fit Beyblade? Not really. Is it good? Maybe not great, but better than I’ve seen people give it credit for

Let the Games Begin by Arunachal: The Beywheelz OP that was used for the English and Japanese versions alike. Like the English OP for Shogun Steel, I think it’s better than given credit for. Although like Beywheelz, it pales in comparison to the other seasons

A Better Place by Jonathan Evans: One of the guys behind I’m Not Going Down makes his return. A Better Place is a pretty good ED< even if it doesn’t stand out

Beyraiderz Theme by iSH and Nicholas Walsh: I’ll be honest the chorus is the only part I like from this. The rest is serviceable as an opening, but I wouldn’t call it good

Come Around by SPACEMAN MUSIC: I like Come Around, and consider it an improvement over A Better Place, but I don’t think it fits Beyraiderz as a season

Beywarriors: Cyborg by unknown artist: A better OP than Beyraiderz, but still a tad below Let the Games Begin

Hold Tight by unknown artist: Like anything relating to Beywarriors, the artist name is hard to find. It’s a strange ED, but I can’t put my finger on why. Like Poroporo, it’s interesting, even if I’m not sure whether I like it

Burst Finish! by Tatsuyuki Kobayashi: A good OP that fits the first season of Burst. It’s great

Believe by SHIKURAMEN: The only Burst ED to get a full version, and it’s certainly deserving of it. Like Burst Finish! it fits the first season of Burst perfectly

Our Time by Steven Allerick Chen: A great opening in par with Burst Finish

Battle Above My League by Fenwick & the Futures: The instrumentation is ok I guess. The vocals have this weird feel to them, like lofi but not really. Like Poroporo and Hold Tight, this song interests me because I don’t quite understand what I’m hearing

Evolution Burst! by unknown artist: The Beyblade Burst God OP is great. I'd call it the best of Japanese Burst openings but Cho-Z exists, making Evolution Burst! a worthy second

Beyxercise by Señor Hanami: If we ignore the visuals in the ED (so no Markiplier dancing), it goes from hilariously good to just regular good. The beat is catchy, but the vocals really make this song. It's performed by Hanami's VA, which makes that last "BASUTO FINISHU" so much better

Beyxercise 2 by Señor Hanami: It's Beyxercuse but again. The beat is different, and a bit of a slightly downgrade, but everything else is as good as the original Beyxercise

Evolution by Dave Vives and Steven Pagano: It's a great opening. Not much to say other than it's really good

Made for This by Vaski and Ian Everson: Amazing. Absolutely amazing. It's hard not to sing along and go "We were made for this"

Chouzetsu Muteki Blader by Ryosuke Sasaki: Easily one of my favorite Beyblade openings ever. Everything about it is fantastic

Bey-Pop! by Shun Kusakawa: Catchy and cheery is the best way to describe this. Lovely song

Bey-Pop Swing! by Shun Kusakawa: It's Bey-Pop bit more energetic. Still catchy and cheery, but with a tad bit more excitement

Turbo by Nate Wants to Battle: Best of the English OP's according to many, and a very close second best in my personal ranking. Nathan Sharp has delivered everything one could ask for from an opening

Gatti'n'Roll by unknown artist: I genuinely dkn't know why anyone though this was a good idea. I guess they thought they couldn't beat Chouzetsu Miteki Blader at its win game and went in the opposite direction, being very cheery rather than adrenaline-pumping. For what it's trying to be, it's pretty good. It just doesn't really work as an OP

Rise by Jonathan Young: IMO the best English opening in all of Beyblade. Jonathan Young made a high-energy OP that gets you pumped for the anime. Also his JJBA OP covers are great

Journey Into Tomorrow by Tony Rodini: I have a hard time deciding between this and Made for This for which is the best eyecatcher theme. Journey Into Tomorrow is just as good as Made for This and Made for This was great

Sparking Revolution by unknown artist: Not a bad OP but it doesn't really stand out. It's good, but it's just "there"

We Got the Spin by Konrad OldMoney and Johnny Gr4ves: Like Gatti'n'Roll, they were trying to go in the opposite direction of the previous opening. However, GT was a more lighthearted and comedic season, while Sparking is more serious than its predecessor. This means that to fit the season, we'd need something as intense as Rise, or at least Evolution, and instead we get this. And unlike the original series or mfb using rap on occasions, We Got the Spin lacks the energy present in songs like Shine On and Always Be In the Game

Clash! Dynamite Battle! by NORISTRY: Great opening. Probably my second favorite Japanese Burst OP behind Muteki Blader

We're Your Rebels by Nate Wants to Battle: Massive step up from We Got the Spin, and it's just what we expected from the guy that made Turbo

1. Three songs with the same name:

Both Samia and Tori Amos have a song called "Big Wheel", but that's only two. Hmmm. I'm genuinely stumped here. Wished Bone and Sarah Slean both have a song called "Sarah", and Neko Case has a song called "Halls of Sarah", does that count?

4. The best song to dance to:

I love dancing to "That's Our Lamp" by Mitski, because it's one of those upbeat songs that's has a complicated emotional core--it's sad, it's lonely, it's celebratory, all at the same time. Plus the crowd sounds make me feel like I'm dancing down a busy street even when I'm alone in my bedroom. Also "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo is fun for when you're feeling that specific kind of angry/sexy that I think is reserved for people who have gone on too many first dates with straight, cis men who accidentally dehumanize you by only seeing you as the girl they wish you were, not who you actually are, but I digress. "Truth Hurts" is a banger.

5. The best song to drive to:

"Heaven When We're Home" by The Wailin' Jennys has been in my heart as a summer-night driving song since I was a kid. It sounds like streetlights and stars and humidity and open windows and highways and gravel kicking up on the car, and sleeping on your seatbelt.

8. A song for the morning and a song for the night:

"Slow Wake Up Sunday Morning" by Mountain Man is the obvious choice for the morning, and for good reason. Somehow it sounds exactly like the peaceful, golden morning sunlight that streams through windows when you're just waking up.

"Chinese Satellite" and "I Know the End" from Phoebe Bridgers' Punisher are such nighttime songs for me. I have spent many a summer night rollicking down the sidewalk to those songs, feeling somehow hopeless and hopeful at the very same time, in that comforting way only Phoebe can make me feel.

10. The best instrumental song:

I recently made a playlist of all my favourite covers of "Avril 14th" by Aphex Twin. I don't know any other songs by the artist, but I find "Avril 14th" such a fascinating, beautiful song. It's like a lullaby that exists out of time.

Turn Off The Lights by Panic! At The Disco

P!ATD has been one of my favourite bands for well over a decade and Vices and Virtues is one of my favourite albums of theirs too. It’s been a hot minute since I listened to it, but I know I love pretty much every song on here. Unfortunately. This song is a deleted bonus track on some ver specific versions of the album so it’s not on Spotify or anywhere online officially. 🙃 I could’ve gone for The Ballad of Mona Lisa or This Is Gospel, but for some reason, I just really like this song. It’s fun to sing too. Anyway brb, gonna go make a Panic! playlist real quick.

The Visitors by ABBA

I have a soft spot for ABBA, and they make me very nostalgic. Again, been a while since I had a proper ABBA jam sesh, but that’s a little bit intentional, precisely because they make me very nostalgic. I like a lot of the songs on this album too, but the title track just ✨hits different✨. It kinda sounds like…space? Idk how to explain it, it just slaps.

Lol idk, anyway, they went on hiatus soon after, and then early last year I realised that they were back with a new album. I like a couple of the songs on it, this is one of them. It touches on the mental health struggles of Tom Fletcher and the band as a whole, and I’m pretty sure I heard that they went to group therapy during hiatus because they were having issues but didn’t want to disband and I truly just love that.

Tokyo Love Hotel by Rina Sawayama

Okay I don’t know if this is a favourite per se because I literally just heard this song today after a work friend recommended it, but listen, I wanted to have more than just BTS on here. It is a very pretty song tho, the music kinda sounds like stars? Sorry, I have a habit of describing sounds as abstract feelings I get when I look at celestial bodies and the elements.

Bonus Break: Tamma Tamma

I wanted a Hindi song on here okay 🙁 I just couldn’t find one I really liked that started with ‘T’. This song is a banger tho and is a reprise of a song from the 90s called “Tamma Tamma Loge” (which is also a very popular, iconic song in Bollywood pop culture). I also really like the movie it’s from - Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.

Tear

In honour of me getting the Love Yourself: Tear album an hour ago, it’s only right that I include this. I know it’s called “Outro: Tear” on this one, but it’s just “Tear” on Love Yourself: Answer, so it works shush. I already really liked this song, but then I found out that Yoongi wrote it at the time that they were seriously considering disbanding and he cried when he took it to them. Which means that the loss of love that the song talks about, refers to the members and that just…makes me shed a tear, if you will.

Turns out I’m going with all Yoongi songs because apparently, Telepathy was also one of his rejected songs. Seesaw is one of my early BTS faves, and this song, Euphoria, and Blood Sweat & Tears are heavily responsible for turning me into the simp that I am today.

A List of Youtube Channels I Would Recommend (Subject to Change Seeing As Ain’t Nobody Loyal Apparently But Whatevs!!!!)

Kennie JD: A reviewer of things from dating shows a la Love is Blind to Tubi movies to Filipino movies, etc. offering some very thoughtful commentary. All while putting her makeup on 😘 Best known for her Bad Movies and a Beat series but really everything she puts out hits. Including her video on the Try Guys Incident.

Athena P: Yet another reviewer with insane makeup, but this one takes the tv shows from childhood and explores the “lore” suggested or outright shown. Absolutely hilarious in her delivery and her fans are called Butt-Lovers! 🍑💥🫲🏻

Studson Studio: A craft-tuber who makes fantastical builds ranging from a recreation of Howl’s Moving Castle from trash to a custom action-figure of Ganondorf from Tears of the Kingdom. Frankly it’s astounding how this guy can just look at a piece of supposed garbage and know exactly what to do with it! (Here’s an idea for a drinking game: Take a sip every time he uses a horseshoe! [You will die💖])

North of the Border: Another craft-tuber but with slightly more…distinct tastes… The mans be making some cursed content is what I’m saying. Creative and bold, but cursed. Beware any uploads that have “realistic” in the title.

OwONekko: An art YouTuber with brutal (and hilarious) thoughts about some of your favorite characters’ designs. She tends to veer towards redesigns like with the fusions from Steven Universe, and designing human forms for non-human characters such as the Heeler family from Bluey

Truegreen7: A popular Pokétuber with a host of playlists and prompts to choose from! Perhaps his most popular being when he invites other artists to a challenge where they are given a prompt and are meant to create a Pokémon from it. However, he also had videos where he has friends randomly pick traits and he makes a Pokémon from them, or he gives himself a prompt such as Pokémon based off his own fears. Always a pleasure when he uploads!!

Microwave Society: Three friends who get together and review…things. Usually it’s movies, especially ones from childhood. Sometimes it’s products from, like, Temu. Either way, they’re going through A Time so you can have a good time.

Razzle: Also a group of friends getting together to review movies. Sometimes they even act out entire scripts to movies. What makes them different from MS, however, is…Well, they drink while doing it. Which lends itself to sone absolute bangers of jokes and quotes.

Pidgin Doll: Admittedly I mostly just watch his Shorts. But in my defense, even those are wonderful to watch. His doll designs and paint marker drawings are gorgeous and unique with their fashions and makeup, and almost every video comes with a little tidbit about either his childhood, his art journey, or just whatever inspired him to create what he did.

Something Wicked: A craft-tuber who makes clay models based off of illustrations from old works and texts. And I mean, like, creatures from alchemical tomes; beasts from 17th century logs; face-butted devils and the sort. He doesn’t have much uploaded so far (admittedly only four at the time of this posting, but that’s because the amount of time, care, and detail he puts into each piece deserves it. Plus you get a nifty lesson in art history or just history in general as he goes into the design choices!

The Harry Gold Show: Welcome to The Harry Gold Show, hosted by the ever forthcoming Harry Gold! He’s…disturbingly good at what he does. And what does he do? Art. Of varying mediums and designs, though mostly digital. Though he has recreated the art style of a dead artist as a gift for his dad. Let me put it this way: There’s a reason some joke that he will give AI a run for its money when it comes to replicating styles (he even did a video putting that to the test!)

Dollightful: This cutesy custom doll-maker has a whole host of “dollightful” designs to observe! From a series based on dragon girls to rainbow girls to a vampire with great taste in art, you’ll always be left cooing over the cuties.

HeXtian: Where Dollightful’s dolls are cute, HeXtian’s dolls are sexy. Complete with snatched waists and (usually) red-bottomed heels, his dolls are ready to to show up and show out and make you wish you could dress like them.
